Joshua 18
1 And they assembled all [the] congregation of [the] people of Israel Shiloh and they caused to dwell there [the] tent of meeting and the land it was subdued before them.
Tous les enfants d’Israël s’assemblèrent à Silo, et là ils dressèrent le tabernacle de témoignage, et la terre leur fut soumise.
2 And they remained among [the] people of Israel which not they had divided inheritance their seven tribes.
Or, étaient restées sept tribus des enfants d’Israël, lesquelles n’avaient pas encore reçu leurs possessions.
3 And he said Joshua to [the] people of Israel until when? [will] you [be] showing yourself slack to go to take possession of the land which he has given to you Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your.
Josué leur dit: Jusqu’à quand languirez-vous dans l’inaction, et n’entrerez-vous pas, pour la posséder, dans la terre que le Seigneur Dieu de vos pères vous a donnée?
4 Provide for yourselves three men to the tribe so I may send them and they may arise so they may walk in the land so they may describe in writing it to [the] mouth of inheritance their so they may come to me.
Choisissez de chaque tribu trois hommes, afin que je les envoie, et qu’ils aillent, et parcourent cette terre; qu’ensuite ils la décrivent, selon le nombre de chaque multitude, et qu’ils me rapportent ce qu’ils auront décrit.
5 And they will divide among themselves it seven portions Judah it will remain on territory its from [the] south and [the] house of Joseph they will remain on territory their from [the] north.
Divisez entre vous la terre en sept parties: que Juda soit dans ses limites du côté austral, et Joseph du côté de l’aquilon.
6 And you you will describe in writing the land seven portions and you will bring [it] to me hither and I will throw for you a lot here before Yahweh God our.
Décrivez la terre qui est au milieu d’eux en sept parts; ensuite vous viendrez ici vers moi, afin que, devant le Seigneur votre Dieu, je jette pour vous ici le sort,
7 For not a portion [will belong] to the Levites in midst your for [is] [the] priesthood of Yahweh inheritance its and Gad and Reuben and [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh they have received inheritance their from [the] other side of the Jordan east-ward which he gave to them Moses [the] servant of Yahweh.
Parce qu’il n’y a point de part parmi vous pour les Lévites, mais que le sacerdoce du Seigneur est leur héritage. Quant à Gad, à Ruben et à la demi-tribu de Manassé, déjà elles avaient reçu au-delà du Jourdain, au côté oriental, leurs possessions, que leur donna Moïse, serviteur du Seigneur.
8 And they arose the men and they went and he commanded Joshua those [who] went to describe in writing the land saying go and walk about in the land and describe in writing it and return to me and here I will throw for you a lot before Yahweh in Shiloh.
Lorsque ces hommes se furent levés pour aller décrire la terre, Josué leur ordonna, disant: Parcourez la terre, décrivez-la, et revenez vers moi, afin qu’ici, devant le Seigneur, à Silo, je jette pour vous le sort.
9 And they went the men and they passed in the land and they described in writing it to the cities into seven portions on a scroll and they came to Joshua to the camp Shiloh.
C’est pourquoi ils allèrent; et parcourant la terre avec soin, ils la divisèrent en sept parts, écrivant dans un livre; puis ils revinrent au camp, à Silo, vers Josué.
10 And he threw for them Joshua a lot in Shiloh before Yahweh and he apportioned there Joshua the land to [the] people of Israel according to divisions their.
Qui jeta les sorts devant le Seigneur, à Silo, et divisa la terre aux enfants d’Israël en sept parts.
11 And it came up [the] lot of [the] tribe of [the] descendants of Benjamin to clans their and it went out [the] territory of lot their [was] between [the] descendants of Judah and between [the] descendants of Joseph.
Or, le premier sort tomba sur les enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles, pour qu’ils possédassent la terre située entre les enfants de Juda et les enfants de Joseph.
12 And it was to them the border of [the] side of north-ward from the Jordan and it goes up the border to [the] slope of Jericho from [the] north and it goes up in the hill country west-ward (and they are *Q(K)*) extremities its [the] wilderness of towards Beth Aven.
Et leur frontière fut vers l’aquilon à partir du Jourdain; s’avançant près du côté septentrional de Jéricho, et de là montant contre l’occident vers les montagnes, et parvenant jusqu’au désert de Bethaven;
13 And it passes on from there the border Luz towards to [the] slope of Luz south-ward that [is] Beth-el and it goes down the border Ataroth Addar on the mountain which [is] from [the] south of Beth Horon lower.
Puis, passant vers le midi près de Luza, qui est la même que Béthel, elle descend à Ataroth-Addar vers la montagne qui est au midi de Beth-horon la basse;
14 And it turns the border and it turns to [the] side of [the] west south-ward from the mountain which [is] on [the] face of Beth Horon [the] south towards (and they are *Q(K)*) extremities its to Kiriath Baal that [is] Kiriath Jearim [the] city of [the] descendants of Judah this [is the] side of [the] west.
Et s’abaisse en tournant contre la mer, au midi de la montagne qui regarde Beth-horon contre l’Africus; enfin elle se termine à Cariath-Baal, qui est appelée aussi à Cariathiarim, ville des enfants de Juda: telle est son étendue contre la mer, à l’occident.
15 And [the] side of [the] south [is] from [the] end of Kiriath Jearim and it goes out the border west-ward and it goes out to [the] spring of [the] waters of Nephtoah.
Mais du côté du midi, sa frontière s’avance de Cariathiarim contre la mer et parvient jusqu’à la source des eaux de Nephtoa.
16 And it goes down the border to [the] end of the mountain which [is] on [the] face [the] valley of Ben Hinnom which [is] in [the] valley of [the] Rephaites north-ward and it goes down [the] valley of [Ben] Hinnom to [the] slope of the Jebusite[s] [the] south towards and it goes down En Rogel.
Et elle descend vers la partie de la montagne qui regarde la vallée des enfants d’Ennom, et qui est contre le côté septentrional, à l’extrémité de la vallée des Raphaïm. Elle descend aussi à Géennom (c’est-à-dire la vallée d’Ennom), à côté du Jébuséen, au midi, et elle parvient à la fontaine de Rogel,
17 And it turns from [the] north and it goes out En Shemesh and it goes out to Geliloth which [is] opposite [the] ascent of Adummim and it goes down [the] stone of Bohan [the] son of Reuben.
Passant devant l’aquilon, et allant à Ensemès, c’est-à-dire. Fontaine du soleil,
18 And it passes on to [the] slope opposite to the Arabah north-ward and it goes down the Arabah towards.
Elle passe jusqu’aux tertres, qui sont vis-à-vis de la montée d’Adommim; elle descend à Abenboen, c’est-à-dire la pierre de Boen, fils de Ruben; elle passe du côté de l’aquilon jusqu’aux campagnes, et descend dans la plaine;
19 And it passes on the border to [the] slope of Beth Hoglah north-ward (and they are [the] extremities of *Q(K)*) the territory to [the] bay of [the] Sea of Salt north-ward to [the] end of the Jordan [the] south towards this [is the] border of [the] south.
Elle s’avance vers l’aquilon au-delà de Beth-hagla, et elle se termine à la langue de la mer très salée du côté de l’aquilon, au bout du Jourdain, vers le côté austral,
20 And the Jordan it borders it to [the] side of east-ward this [was] [the] inheritance of [the] descendants of Benjamin to borders its around to clans their.
Qui la termine du côté de l’orient: telle est la possession des enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs frontières d’alentour et leurs familles.
21 And they belonged the cities to [the] tribe of [the] descendants of Benjamin to clans their Jericho and Beth Hoglah and Emek Keziz.
Ses villes étaient: Jéricho, Beth-hagla, la vallée de Casis,
22 And Beth Arabah and Zemaraim and Beth-el.
Beth-Araba, Samaraïm, Béthel,
23 And Avvites and Parah and Ophrah.
Avim, Aphara, Ophéra,
24 And Kephar (Ammonah *Q(K)*) and Ophni and Geba cities two [plus] ten and villages their.

25 Gibeon and Ramah and Beeroth.
Gabaon, Rama, Béroth,
26 And Mizpah and Kephirah and Mozah.
Mesphé, Caphara, Amosa,
27 And Rekem and Irpeel and Taralah.
Récem, Jaréphel, Taréla,
28 And Zelah Haeleph and the Jebusite that [is] Jerusalem Gibeah Kiriath cities four-teen and villages their this [was] [the] inheritance of [the] descendants of Benjamin to clans their.
Sala, Elaph, Jébus, qui est Jérusalem, Gabaath et Cariath: quatorze villes et leurs villages. Telle est la possession des enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles.
