Joshua 16

1 And it went out the lot of [the] descendants of Joseph from [the] Jordan of Jericho to [the] waters of Jericho east-ward the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill country Beth-el.

مرز جنوبی زمینی که به حکم قرعه به بنی‌یوسف (افرایم و منسی) تعلق گرفت، از آن قسمت رود اردن که نزدیک اریحاست، یعنی از شرق چشمه‌های اریحا شروع می‌شد و از صحرا گذشته، به ناحیهٔ کوهستانی بیت‌ئیل می‌رسید.

2 And it goes out from Beth-el Luz towards and it passes on to [the] border of the Arkite[s] Ataroth.

سپس از بیت‌ئیل به طرف لوز و عطاروت در سرحد سرزمین اَرکی‌ها امتداد می‌یافت و بعد به سمت مغرب به سرحد سرزمین یفلیطی‌ها تا کنار بیت‌حورون پایین و تا جازر کشیده شده، انتهایش به دریای مدیترانه می‌رسید. به این ترتیب قبیلۀ یوسف، یعنی منسی و افرایم میراث خود را گرفتند.

3 And it goes down west-ward to [the] border of the Japhletite[s] to [the] border of Beth Horon lower and to Gezer and they are (extremities its *Q(K)*) [the] sea towards.

4 And they received their inheritance [the] descendants of Joseph Manasseh and Ephraim.

5 And it was [the] territory of [the] descendants of Ephraim to clans their and it was [the] border of inheritance their east-ward Ataroth Addar to Beth Horon upper.

این است زمینی که به خاندانهای قبیلهٔ افرایم داده شد: مرز شرقی این زمین از عطاروت ادار شروع می‌شد و از آنجا تا بیت‌حورون بالا امتداد می‌یافت و به دریای مدیترانه می‌رسید. مرز شمالی، از دریای مدیترانه شروع شده، به سمت مشرق کشیده می‌شد و از مکمیته می‌گذشت و به تعنت شیلوه و یانوحه می‌رسید.

6 And it goes out the border the sea towards Micmethath [is] from [the] north and it turns the border east-ward Taanath Shiloh and it passes by it from [the] east Janoah.

7 And it goes down from Janoah Ataroth and Naarah towards and it touches Jericho and it goes out the Jordan.

از یانوحه به سمت جنوب کشیده شده، به طرف عطاروت و نعره پایین آمده، به اریحا می‌رسید و به رود اردن منتهی می‌شد.

8 From Tappuah it goes the border west-ward [the] wadi of Kanah and they are extremities its the sea towards this [was] [the] inheritance of [the] tribe of [the] descendants of Ephraim to clans their.

سپس از آنجا به طرف غرب کشیده شده، از تفوح به درهٔ قانه می‌رسید و به دریای مدیترانه ختم می‌شد. این است زمینی که به خاندانهای قبیلۀ افرایم به ملکیت داده شد.

9 And the cities the separate places for [the] descendants of Ephraim [are] in [the] midst of [the] inheritance of [the] descendants of Manasseh all the cities and villages their.

علاوه بر این، بعضی از شهرهایی که در سرحد خاک نصف قبیلهٔ منسی بود با روستاهای اطراف به قبیلهٔ افرایم داده شد.

10 And not they dispossessed the Canaanite[s] who dwelt in Gezer and he has dwelt the Canaanite[s] in [the] midst of Ephraim until the day this and he became a slave gang of laboring.

ولی آنها کنعانیانی را که در جازر ساکن بودند بیرون نکردند و کنعانی‌ها تا امروز در میان قبیلهٔ افرایم به صورت برده زندگی می‌کنند.
