Joshua 11
1 And it was when heard Jabin [the] king of Hazor and he sent to Jobab [the] king of Madon and to [the] king of Shimron and to [the] king of Acshaph.
Ketika Yabin, raja kota Hazor, mendengar tentang semua kemenangan bangsa Israel, dia memanggil raja-raja lain yaitu Raja Yobab dari kota Madon, raja kota Simron, raja kota Aksaf,
2 And to the kings who [were] from [the] north in the hill country and in the Arabah south of Kinnereth and in the Shephelah and on [the] heights of Dor from [the] west.
juga raja-raja di pegunungan sebelah utara, di lembah Yordan sebelah selatan danau Galilea, di daerah kaki pegunungan, dan di pesisir dekat kota Dor.
3 The Canaanite[s] from [the] east and from [the] west and the Amorite[s] and the Hittite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Jebusite[s] in the hill country and the Hivite[s] under Hermon in [the] land of Mizpah.
Yabin juga memanggil orang Kanaan di sebelah timur dan sebelah barat sungai Yordan, orang Amori, orang Het, orang Feris, orang Yebus di daerah pegunungan, dan orang Hewi di kaki gunung Hermon di daerah Mispa.
4 And they came out they and all armies their with them a people numerous like the sand which [is] on [the] shore of the sea for multitude and horse[s] and chariot[s] many very.
Raja-raja itu maju membawa pasukan mereka. Jumlah mereka sangat banyak, seperti pasir di tepi pantai. Kuda dan kereta perang mereka juga sangat banyak.
5 And they gathered all the kings these and they came and they encamped together to [the] water of Merom to wage war with Israel.
Semua raja itu menggabungkan pasukan. Mereka berkemah di sungai Merom untuk menyerang Israel.
6 And he said Yahweh to Joshua may not you be afraid because of them for tomorrow about the time this I [am] delivering up all of them slain before Israel horses their you will hamstring and chariots their you will burn with fire.
Berkatalah TUHAN kepada Yosua, “Jangan takut terhadap mereka. Karena besok, pada waktu yang sama seperti sekarang, Aku akan menyerahkan mereka semua mati terbunuh di tangan kalian. Lumpuhkan kuda-kuda mereka dan bakarlah kereta-kereta perang mereka.”
7 And he came Joshua and all [the] people of war with him on them at [the] waters of Merom suddenly and they fell on them.
Maka Yosua dan seluruh pasukannya menyerang pasukan musuh itu dengan tiba-tiba di dekat sungai Merom.
8 And he gave them Yahweh in [the] hand of Israel and they struck down them and they pursued them to Sidon great and to Misrephoth Maim and to [the] valley of Mizpah east-wards and they struck down them until not he had left to them a survivor.
TUHAN menyerahkan mereka semua kepada orang Israel. Pasukan Israel mengalahkan musuh dan memburu mereka sampai ke kota besar Sidon, kota Misrefot Maim di sebelah barat laut, dan sampai ke lembah Mispa di sebelah timur laut. Tidak ada seorang pun yang selamat.
9 And he did to them Joshua just as he had said to him Yahweh horses their he hamstrung and chariots their he burned with fire.
Yosua dan pasukan Israel melumpuhkan semua kuda musuh dan membakar semua kereta perang mereka, sesuai dengan perintah TUHAN kepadanya.
10 And he turned back Joshua at the time that and he captured Hazor and king its he struck with the sword for Hazor before it [was] [the] head of all the kingdoms these.
Kemudian Yosua dan pasukannya berbalik lalu pergi merebut kota Hazor dan membunuh rajanya. Dahulu, kota Hazor adalah pusat kerajaan-kerajaan yang melawan Israel itu.
11 And they struck every person who [was] in it to [the] mouth of [the] sword they totally destroyed [them] not it was left any breathing thing and Hazor he burned with fire.
Pasukan Yosua membunuh semua orang di kota Hazor, lalu membakar kota itu. Tidak ada satu pun yang selamat.
12 And all [the] cities of the kings these and all kings their he captured Joshua and he struck them to [the] mouth of [the] sword he totally destroyed them just as he had commanded Moses [the] servant of Yahweh.
Yosua merebut semua kota lainnya dan membunuh raja-raja mereka, seperti yang diperintahkan Musa, hamba TUHAN itu.
13 Only all the cities which were standing on mounds their not it burned them Israel except Hazor to alone it he burned Joshua.
Akan tetapi, orang Israel tidak membakar kota-kota yang di atas bukit, kecuali Hazor yang dibakar oleh Yosua dan pasukannya.
14 And all [the] booty of the cities these and the cattle they plundered for themselves [the] people of Israel only every man they struck to [the] mouth of [the] sword until had destroyed they them not they left any breathing thing.
Orang Israel mengambil semua barang berharga dan ternak-ternak dari kota-kota itu. Tetapi seluruh penduduknya mereka habisi. Tidak ada seorang pun yang dibiarkan hidup.
15 Just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses servant his so he commanded Moses Joshua and so he did Joshua not he left undone anything from all that he had commanded Yahweh Moses.
Demikianlah Yosua menjalankan segala perintah TUHAN yang disampaikan-Nya melalui Musa. Tak ada satu pun yang tidak terlaksana.
16 And he took Joshua all the land this the hill country and all the Negev and all [the] land of Goshen and the Shephelah and the Arabah and [the] hill country of Israel and Shephelah its.
Jadi, Yosua berhasil merebut seluruh negeri itu bagi Israel, mulai dari daerah pegunungan, seluruh padang belantara Negeb, seluruh daerah di sekitar kota Gosyen, dan lembah Yordan. Yosua sudah menguasai seluruh daerah pegunungan Israel dan dataran rendahnya,
17 From the mountain Halak which goes up Seir and to Baal Gad in [the] valley of Lebanon under [the] mountain of Hermon and all kings their he captured and he struck them and he killed them.
dari gunung Halak di selatan, naik sampai ke gunung Seir, sampai kota Baal Gad di Lembah Libanon di utara, di bawah gunung Hermon. Yosua berperang melawan raja-raja itu selama bertahun-tahun sampai dia berhasil menangkap dan membunuh mereka semua.
18 Days many he did Joshua with all the kings these battle.
19 Not it was a city which it made peace to [the] people of Israel except the Hivite[s] [the] inhabitants of Gibeon everything they took in battle.
Tidak ada kota yang membuat perjanjian damai dengan Israel kecuali orang Hewi di kota Gibeon. Semua kota lainnya sudah dikalahkan,
20 For from with Yahweh - it was to strengthen heart their to meet the battle with Israel so as to totally destroy them to not to belong to them favor for so as to destroy them just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses.
karena TUHAN sengaja membuat musuh-musuh Israel keras kepala dan berani melawan Israel. Tujuannya supaya mereka dimusnahkan tanpa belas kasihan, seperti yang sudah diperintahkan-Nya kepada Musa.
21 And he came Joshua at the time that and he cut off the Anakites from the hill country from Hebron from Debir from Anab and from all [the] hill country of Judah and from all [the] hill country of Israel with cities their he totally destroyed them Joshua.
Pada waktu itu, Yosua juga menyerang dan menghabisi orang raksasa Anakim dari Hebron, Debir, Anab, dan seluruh daerah pegunungan Yehuda dan Israel. Yosua memusnahkan mereka seluruhnya dan menghancurkan kota-kota mereka.
22 Not it was left Anakites in [the] land of [the] people of Israel only in Gaza in Gath and in Ashdod they remained.
Karena itu, tidak ada lagi keturunan raksasa Anakim di wilayah Israel. Mereka hanya tersisa di kota Gaza, Gat, dan Asdod.
23 And he took Joshua all the land according to all that he had spoken Yahweh to Moses and he gave it Joshua to an inheritance to Israel according to divisions their to tribes their and the land it was at peace from war.
Demikianlah Yosua menguasai seluruh negeri itu, seperti yang TUHAN sudah janjikan kepada Musa. Yosua membagikan negeri itu kepada suku-suku Israel sebagai tanah warisan mereka, dan sesudah itu perang pun berhenti.
