< John 13 >

1 Before now the feast of the Passover knowing Jesus that (came *N(k)O*) to him hour that He may depart out of world this to the Father, having loved [his] own who [were] in the world to [the] end He loved them.

2 And supper (taking place, *N(k)O*) the devil already having put into the heart that he may betray Him (Judas *N(k)O*) [son] of Simon (Iscariot *NK(o)*)
ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲡⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲓⲇⲓ⳿ⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ϩⲏⲇⲏ ⲛⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱ ⲉϥϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϩⲏ ⲧ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁϥⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲕⲁⲣⲓⲱⲧⲏⲥ.
3 knowing (*k*) (Jesus *K*) that all things (has given *N(k)O*) to Him the Father into the hands, and that from God He came forth and to God He is going,
ⲅ̅ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ϯ ⳿ⲛⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉϥϫⲓϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲁ ⲫϯ.
4 He rises from the supper and lays aside the garments, And having taken a towel He girded Himself.
ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲇⲓⲡⲛⲟⲛ ⲁϥ ⲭⲱ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲗⲉⲛⲧⲓⲟⲛ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲣϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
5 After that He pours water into the basin and He began to wash the feet of the disciples and to wipe [them] with the towel with which He was having girded himself.
ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲗⲁⲕⲁⲛⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲓⲱⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥϥⲱϯ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲗⲉⲛⲧⲓⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁϥⲙⲏⲣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
6 He comes then to Simon Peter; (and *k*) who says to Him (that [question]; *ko*) Lord, You yourself my do wash feet?
ⲋ̅ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲁ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲓⲁ ⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲓⲁ ⲣⲁⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
7 Answered Jesus and said to him; What I myself do you yourself not know presently, you will know however after these things.
ⲍ̅ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏ ⳿ⲉϯⲣⲁ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⳿ⲕⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲕ⳿ⲉⲉⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ.
8 Says to Him Peter; certainly not shall You wash my feet to the age. Answered (*k*) Jesus to him; only unless I shall wash you, not you have part with Me. (aiōn g165)
ⲏ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲓⲁ ⲣⲁⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲓⲁ ⲣⲁⲧⲕ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛⲧⲉⲕ ⲧⲟⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ. (aiōn g165)
9 Says to Him Simon Peter; Lord, not the feet of me only but also the hands and the head.
ⲑ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁ⳪ ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲁϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲁⲕⲉϫⲓϫ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲁ⳿ⲁⲫⲉ.
10 Says to him Jesus; The [one] having bathed himself not has need (only *no*) (except *N(K)O*) the feet to wash, but is clean wholly; and you yourselves clean are but not all.
ⲓ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲕⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϥⲉⲣ⳿ⲭⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⳿ⲉⲓⲁ ⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ.
11 He knew for the [one who] was betraying Him; on account of this He said (that *no*) Not all clean you are.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲁϥⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏ ⲉⲛⲁϥⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ.
12 When therefore He had washed the feet of them and taken the garments of Him and (he reclined *N(k)O*) again, He said to them; Do you know what I have done to you?
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓⲱⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⲁϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲣⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲁⲓⲁⲓϥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
13 You yourselves call Me: Teacher and Lord, and rightly you say; I am for.

14 If therefore I myself washed your feet the Lord and the Teacher, also you yourselves ought of one another to wash the feet;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲓⲓⲱⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛ ϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳪ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲉϥ ϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲥⲉ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϣⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲁ ⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ.
15 A pattern for I gave you, that even as I myself did to you also you yourselves may do.

16 Amen Amen I say to you; not is a servant greater than the master of him nor [is] a messenger greater than the [one who] having sent him.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉϥ⳪ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲉⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟϥ.
17 If these things you know, blessed are you if you shall do them.

18 Not about all of you I speak; I myself know (whom *N(k)O*) I chose; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled: The [one] eating (with *k*) (Me *N(k)O*) the bread lifted up against Me myself the heel of him.’
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲛⲁⲓϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ϯⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲓⲥⲟⲧⲡⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲱⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲱⲓⲕ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥⲑⲓⲃⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲓ.
19 From now I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that (you may believe *NK(o)*) when it may happen that I myself am [He].
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲁⲥϣⲁⲛϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ.
20 Amen Amen I say to you; the [one] receiving (maybe *N(k)O*) any I shall send, Me myself receives; the [one] now Me myself receiving, receives the [One] having sent Me.
ⲕ̅ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏ ⳿ⲉϯⲛⲁⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ.
21 These things having said Jesus was troubled in spirit and He testified and said; Amen Amen I say to you that one of you will betray Me.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥ⳿ϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓⲧ.
22 Were looking (therefore *KO*) upon one another the disciples, being uncertain of whom He is speaking.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲁⲩⲥⲟⲙⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⳿ⲛⲥⲉ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ.
23 There was (now *k*) reclining one (of *no*) the disciples of Him in the bosom of Jesus whom was loving Jesus;
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲁϥⲣⲟⲧⲉⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲕⲉⲛϥ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲫⲏ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲙⲉⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
24 Motions therefore to him Simon Peter (and says to him *o*) (to ask *NK(o)*) who maybe (it would be *NK(o)*) about whom He is speaking.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥϭⲱⲣⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲉⲛϥ ϫⲉ ⲁϥϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ.
25 (Having leaned then *N(k)O*) he (thus *NO*) on the breast of Jesus he says to Him; Lord, who is it?
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲓⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲥⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁ⳪ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ.
26 Answers (therefore *O*) Jesus; He it is to whom I myself (will dip *N(k)O*) the morsel (and *no*) (will give *N(k)O*) (to him. *no*) (And *k*) (having dipped *N(k)O*) (then *NO*) the morsel (He takes [it] and *NO*) gives [it] to Judas [son] of Simon (Iscariot. *N(k)O*)
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⳿ⲉϯⲛⲁⲥⲉⲡ ⲡⲓⲗⲱⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲉⲡ ⲡⲓⲗⲱⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲏⲓϥ ⳿ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲥⲕⲁⲣⲓⲱⲧⲏⲥ.
27 And after the morsel, then entered into him Satan. Says therefore to him Jesus; What you enact, do enact quicker.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲗⲱⲙ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁⲁⲓϥ ⲁⲣⲓⲧϥ ⳿ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ.
28 This now no [one] knew of those reclining to what He spoke to him.

29 Some for were thinking, since the money bag had (*k*) Judas, for is saying to him Jesus; do buy what things need [of] we have for the feast, or to the poor that something he may give.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉⲡⲓⲇⲏ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲅⲗⲱⲥⲟⲕⲟⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲉⲣ⳿ⲭⲣⲓⲁ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲁⲓ ⲓⲉ ϫⲉ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓϩⲏⲕⲓ.
30 Having received therefore the morsel he went out immediately; it was now night.

33 Little children, yet a little while with you I am. You will seek Me, and even as I said to the Jews that Where I myself go you yourselves not are able to come, also to you I say now.

36 Says to Him Simon Peter; Lord, where go You? Answered to him (*k*) Jesus; Where I go not you are able Me now to follow; you will follow however afterward (to me. *k*)
