< John 11 >

1 Was now a certain [man] ailing, Lazarus of Bethany of the village of Mary and Martha the sister of her;
ⲁ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲗⲁⲍⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ ⲡϯⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲧⲉⲥⲥⲱⲛⲉ.
2 Was now Mary the [one] having anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and having wiped the feet of Him with the hair of her, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
ⲃ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲧⲉϩⲥ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲟϭⲛ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥϥⲉⲧⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥϥⲱ ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲥⲥⲟⲛ ⲗⲁⲍⲁⲣⲟⲥ ϣⲱⲛⲉ.
3 Sent therefore the sisters to Him saying; Lord, behold [he] whom You love was being sick.
ⲅ̅ⲁⲩϫⲟⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛⲉϥⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ϥϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲉⲧⲕ̅ⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ.
4 Having heard then Jesus said; This sickness not is unto death but for the glory of God that may be glorified the Son of God through it.
ⲇ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲓ̈ϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ϫⲓⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ.
5 was loving now Jesus Martha and the sister of her and Lazarus.
ⲉ̅ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲉⲥⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲙⲗⲁⲍⲁⲣⲟⲥ.
6 When therefore He heard that he is sick, then indeed He remained in which He was [the] place two days.
ⲋ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ϭⲉ ϫⲉ ϥϣⲱⲛⲉ. ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥϭⲱ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϥⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅.
7 Then after this He says to the disciples; Let us go into Judea again.
ⲍ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲛ ⲟⲛ ⲉϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ.
8 Say to Him the disciples; Rabbi, just now were seeking You to stone the Jews, and again You are going there?
ⲏ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. ϫⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲃⲃⲉⲓ. ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈ ϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩⲓⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲕⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲙⲁⲩ.
9 Answered (*k*) Jesus; Surely twelve hours are there in the day? If anyone shall walk in the day, not he stumbles, because the light of the world this he sees.
ⲑ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ̅ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲙⲛ̅ⲙⲛⲧⲥ̅ⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ. ⲉⲣϣⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲉϥϫⲓϫⲣⲟⲡ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲟⲩⲟⲓ̈ⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.
10 if however anyone shall walk in the night, he stumbles, because the light not is in him.
ⲓ̅ⲉⲣϣⲁⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ. ϣⲁϥϫⲓϫⲣⲟⲡ ϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲓ̈ⲛ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅.
11 These things He said and after this He says to them; Lazarus the friend of us has fallen asleep; but I go that I may awaken him.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲗⲁⲍⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲛϣⲃⲏⲣ ⲁϥⲛ̅ⲕⲟⲧⲕ̅. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲉ͡ⲓⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ̅.
12 Said therefore the disciples (to Him; *N(K)O*) Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ϭⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉϣϫⲉⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥⲛ̅ⲕⲟⲧⲕ̅. ϥⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ.
13 Had spoken however Jesus of the death of him; they however thought that of the rest of sleep He speaks.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲉϥⲙⲟⲩ. ⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉϥϫⲉⲡⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲱⲃϣ.
14 Then therefore said to them Jesus plainly; Lazarus has died.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ϭⲉ ⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲣⲏⲥⲓⲁ. ϫⲉ ⲗⲁⲍⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ
15 And I rejoice for sake of you, in order that you may believe, that not I was there; But let us go to him.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲓ̈ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲛ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ.
16 Said therefore Thomas who is being named Didymus to the fellow disciples; Let us go also us that we may die with Him.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲑⲱⲙⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲇⲓⲇⲩⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥϣⲃⲣ̅ⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲛ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁϥ
17 Having come therefore Jesus found him four already days having been in the tomb.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉ͡ⲓ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲡⲉϥϥⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲉϥϩⲙ̅ⲡⲧⲁⲫⲟⲥ.
18 Was now Bethany near Jerusalem about away stadia fifteen.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲥϩⲏⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲛ̅ⲁⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲏ ⲛ̅ⲥⲧⲁⲇⲓⲟⲛ.
19 (and *k*) Many (now *no*) of the Jews had come unto (*N(k)O*) (concerning *k*) Martha and Mary that they may console them concerning the brother (of them. *k*)
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈ ⲛⲉⲁⲩⲉ͡ⲓ ⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉⲥⲗ̅ⲥⲱⲗⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲉⲩⲥⲟⲛ.
20 Therefore Martha, when she heard that (*k*) Jesus is coming, met with Him; Mary however in the house was sitting.
ⲕ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ϫⲉ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲏⲩ. ⲁⲥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲏⲧϥ̅. ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲏⲉ͡ⲓ.
21 Said then Martha to Jesus; Lord, if You had been here, not then would (be dead *N(k)O*) the brother of mine.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲉⲛⲉⲕⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲙⲁ. ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ.
22 Nevertheless even now I know that as much as maybe You may ask God will give You God.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲕⲛⲁⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ. ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲕ.
23 Says to her Jesus; Will rise again the brother of you.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛϥ̅.
24 Says to him (*no*) Martha; I know that he will rise again in the resurrection in the last day.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ϩⲙ̅ⲡϩⲁⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲟⲩ.
25 Said to her Jesus; I myself am the resurrection and the life; the [one] believing in Me myself even if even if he shall die he will live,
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲱⲛϩ. ⲡⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲉ͡ⲓ. ⲕⲁⲛ ⲉϥϣⲁⲛⲙⲟⲩ ϥⲛⲁⲱⲛϩ.
26 and everyone who is living and believing in Me myself certainly not he shall die to the age. Believe you this? (aiōn g165)
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲉ͡ⲓ. ⲛϥ̅ⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ. ⲧⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈. (aiōn g165)
27 She says to Him; Yes Lord; I myself have believed that You yourself are the Christ the Son of God the [One] into the world coming.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲥⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.
28 And (these things *N(k)O*) having said she went away and she called Mary the sister of her secretly having said; The Teacher is come and He calls you.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥϫⲉⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲁⲥⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲉⲥⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲛ̅ϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟ.
29 She (then *no*) when she heard ([she] rose up *N(k)O*) quickly and (was coming *N(k)O*) to Him.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅. ⲁⲥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲥ̅ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲁⲥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ.
30 Not yet now had come Jesus into the village, but was (still *no*) in the place where met with Him Martha.
ⲗ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲧϥ̅ⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡϯⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲛⲉϥϩⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲧⲱⲙⲛ̅ⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅.
31 The then Jews who are being with her in the house and consoling her, having seen Mary that soon she rose up and went out, followed after her, (having supposed *N(K)O*) that she is going to the tomb that she may weep there.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧϩⲙ̅ⲡⲏⲓ̈ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲥⲟⲗⲥⲗ̅ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲥ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲁⲥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ. ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕʾ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲧⲁⲫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲉⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ.
32 Therefore Mary when she came to where was (*k*) Jesus, having seen Him she fell of Him (at *N(k)O*) the feet saying to Him; Lord, if You had been here, not then would my have died brother.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅. ⲁⲥⲛⲟϫⲥ̅ ϩⲁⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲉⲛⲉⲕⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲉ͡ⲓⲙⲁ. ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ.
33 Jesus therefore when He saw her weeping and the having come with her Jews weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled Himself
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲥⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉ͡ⲓ ⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲣⲓⲙⲉ. ⲁϥϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ̅ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲡⲛ̅ⲁ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧ
34 And He said; Where have you laid him? They say to Him; Lord, do come and do see.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲧⲱⲛ. ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲅ̅ⲛⲁⲩ.
35 Wept Jesus.
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲁϥⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅.
36 Were saying therefore the Jews; Behold how He was loving him!
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ϭⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈. ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲑⲉ ⲉⲧϥ̅ⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ.
37 Some however of them said; Surely was able this [man] who having opened the eyes of the blind to have caused that also this one not may have died?
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ⲃⲁⲗ ⲙ̅ⲡⲃⲗ̅ⲗⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲧⲣⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲙⲟⲩ.
38 Jesus therefore again being deeply moved in Himself He comes to the tomb; It was now a cave, and a stone was lying against it.
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϭⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉϥⲟⲟⲧ ϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ⲁϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲡⲧⲁⲫⲟⲥ. ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲥⲡⲏⲗⲁⲓⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲱⲛⲉ ϩⲓⲣⲱϥ.
39 Says Jesus; do take away the stone. Says to Him the sister of the [one] (having deceased *N(k)O*) Martha; Lord, already he stinks; four days for it is.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ϥⲓⲡⲱⲛⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ. ⲡⲉϫⲉⲙⲁⲣⲑⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ⲧⲥⲱⲛⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲏⲇⲏ ⲁϥⲣ̅ⲥⲧⲟⲓ̈ ⲡⲉϥϥⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ.
40 Says to her Jesus; Surely I said to you that if you shall believe you will see the glory of God?
ⲙ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲓϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲧⲉⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
41 They took away therefore the stone (where was who having died laid. *K*) Now Jesus lifted [His] eyes upwards and said; Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩϥⲓⲡⲱⲛⲉ ϭⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ. ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϥⲓⲛⲉϥⲃⲁⲗ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ⲱⲧ ϯϣⲡ̅ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁⲕⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲣⲟⲉ͡ⲓ.
42 I myself and knew that always Me You hear; but on account of the crowd which already standing around I said [it], that they may believe that You yourself Me sent.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲓ̈ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲕⲥⲱⲧⲙ̅ ⲉⲣⲟⲉ͡ⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲓ̈ϣ ⲛⲓⲙ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲓ̈ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲕⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲟⲟⲩⲧ.
43 And these things having said in a voice loud He cried out; Lazarus, come forth.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲉⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲁϥⲁϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛ̅ⲥⲙⲏ ϫⲉ ⲗⲁⲍⲁⲣⲉ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
44 (and *k*) Came forth the [one] having died bound the feet and the hands with linen strips, and the face of him in a headcloth had bound about. Says to them Jesus: do unbind him and do allow him to go.
ⲙ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲉ͡ⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲙⲏⲣ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉϥϭⲓϫ ϩⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲕⲉⲣⲉⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϩⲟ ⲙⲏⲣ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲩⲇⲁⲣⲓⲟⲛ. ⲡⲉϫⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲃⲟⲗϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲛϥ̅ⲃⲱⲕ.
45 Many therefore of the Jews having come to Mary and having seen (what things *NK(o)*) He did (Jesus *k*) believed in Him.
ⲙ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ̅ⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉ͡ⲓ ϣⲁⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲁⲁϥ. ⲁⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ.
46 some however of them went to the Pharisees and told to them what did (*ko*) Jesus.
ⲙ̅ⲋ̅ϩⲟⲓ̈ⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ϣⲁⲛⲉⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲁⲩ.
47 Gathered therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees a council and they were saying; What are we to do? For this man many does signs!
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ϭⲉ ⲛⲙ̅ⲛⲉⲫⲁⲣⲓⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲥⲩⲛϩⲉⲇⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ. ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲁⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲣ̅ϩⲁϩ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲓ̈ⲛ.
48 If we shall let him alone Him like this, all will believe in Him, and will come the Romans and will take away of us both the place and the nation.
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲉⲛϣⲁⲛⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲓ̈ϩⲉ. ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉⲉ͡ⲓ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲛⲉϩⲣⲱⲙⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉϥⲓ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲛ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ.
49 One however certain of them Caiaphas, high priest being on the year same, said to them; You yourselves not know no [thing],
ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲓⲫⲁⲥ ⲉⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲛ̅ⲗⲁⲁⲩ.
50 nor (consider you *N(k)O*) that it is profitable (for you *N(K)O*) that one man may die for the people, and not all the nation may perish.
ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲗⲟⲅⲓⲍⲉ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲣ̅ⲛⲟϥⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲡϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ̅ ϩⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
51 This now from himself not he said, but high priest being on the year that he prophesied that was about (*k*) Jesus to die for the nation,
ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥϫⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲡϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ
52 and not for the nation only but that also the children of God those scattered He may gather together into one.
ⲛ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲁⲡϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲧⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲟⲛ ⲛ̅ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧϫⲟⲟⲣⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩϩⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱⲧ.
53 From that [very] therefore day (they plotted *N(k)O*) that they may kill Him.
ⲛ̅ⲅ̅ϫⲓⲛⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩϫⲓϣⲟϫⲛⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲉⲙⲟⲩⲟⲩⲧ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ.
54 (*no*) Therefore Jesus no longer no longer publicly was walking among the Jews, but went away from there into the region near the wilderness to Ephraim being named a city, And there And there (He stayed *N(k)O*) with the disciples (of him. *k*)
