< John 11 >
1 Was now a certain [man] ailing, Lazarus of Bethany of the village of Mary and Martha the sister of her;

(Eta Maria haur cen Iauna vnguentuz vnctatu çuena, eta haren oinac bere adatseco biloez ichucatu cituena: ceinen anaye Lazaro baitzen eri)
3 Sent therefore the sisters to Him saying; Lord, behold [he] whom You love was being sick.

4 Having heard then Jesus said; This sickness not is unto death but for the glory of God that may be glorified the Son of God through it.
Eta hori ençunic Iesusec erran ceçan, Eritassun hori ezta heriotara, baina Iaincoaren gloriatan, eritassun harçaz Iaincoaren Semea glorifica dadinçat.

Eta cituen maite Iesusec Martha, eta haren ahizpá, eta Lazaro.
6 When therefore He heard that he is sick, then indeed He remained in which He was [the] place two days.
Bada ençun çuenean ecen eri cela, bi egun egon cedin, orduan non baitzén leku hartan.
7 Then after this He says to the disciples; Let us go into Judea again.
Guero horren ondoan erran ciecén discipuluey, Goacen Iudearát berriz.
8 Say to Him the disciples; Rabbi, just now were seeking You to stone the Jews, and again You are going there?
Diotsate discipuluéc, Magistruá, orain ciabiltzan Iuduac hi lapidatu nahiz, eta berriz hara ioaiten aiz?
9 Answered (*k*) Jesus; Surely twelve hours are there in the day? If anyone shall walk in the day, not he stumbles, because the light of the world this he sees.
Ihardets ceçan Iesusec, Egunean eztira hamabi oren? baldin nehor egunaz ebil badadi, ezta behaztopatzen: ecen mundu hunetaco arguia ikusten du.
10 if however anyone shall walk in the night, he stumbles, because the light not is in him.
Baina baldin nehor ebil badadi gauaz, behaztopatzen da: ecen arguiric ezta hura baithan.
11 These things He said and after this He says to them; Lazarus the friend of us has fallen asleep; but I go that I may awaken him.
Gauça hauc erraiten ditu, eta guero dioste, Lazaro gure adiquisdea lo datza, baina banoa iratzar deçadan.
12 Said therefore the disciples (to Him; *N(K)O*) Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well.
Erran cieçoten bada bere discipuléc, Iauna, baldin lo badatza sendaturen duc.
13 Had spoken however Jesus of the death of him; they however thought that of the rest of sleep He speaks.
Eta haur erran ceçan Iesusec haren herioaz: eta hec vste çuten lozco lokartzeaz erraiten çuela.
14 Then therefore said to them Jesus plainly; Lazarus has died.
Orduan bada erran ciecén Iesusec claroqui, Lazaro hil da:
15 And I rejoice for sake of you, in order that you may believe, that not I was there; But let us go to him.
Eta aleguera naiz çuengatic (sinhets deçaçuençat) ceren ezpainincén han: baina goacen harengana.

Erran ciecén bada Thomas Didymus deitzen denac discipulu laguney, Goacen gu-ere horrequin hil gaitecençát.
17 Having come therefore Jesus found him four already days having been in the tomb.

18 Was now Bethany near Jerusalem about away stadia fifteen.
Cen bada Bethania hurbil Ierusalemeren hamaborz stadioren inguruä:

Eta Iuduetaric anhitz ethor citecen Marthagana eta Mariagana, hec consola litzatençát bere anayeaz.
20 Therefore Martha, when she heard that (*k*) Jesus is coming, met with Him; Mary however in the house was sitting.

21 Said then Martha to Jesus; Lord, if You had been here, not then would (be dead *N(k)O*) the brother of mine.
Erran cieçón bada Marthac Iesusi, Iauna, baldin içan bahinz hemen, ene anaye etzuqueán hil:
22 Nevertheless even now I know that as much as maybe You may ask God will give You God.
Baina orain-ere baceaquiat ecen cer-ere galde eguinen baitraucac Iaincoari, emanen drauala hiri.
23 Says to her Jesus; Will rise again the brother of you.
Diotsa Iesusec, Resuscitaturen dun hire anaye.
24 Says to him (*no*) Martha; I know that he will rise again in the resurrection in the last day.
Diotsa Marthac, Baceaquiat ecen resuscitaturen dela resurrectionean, azquen egunean.
25 Said to her Jesus; I myself am the resurrection and the life; the [one] believing in Me myself even if even if he shall die he will live,
Erran cieçón Iesusec, Ni naun resurrectionea eta vicitzea: ni baithan sinhesten duena, baldin hil içan badere vicico dun:
26 and everyone who is living and believing in Me myself certainly not he shall die to the age. Believe you this? (aiōn )
Eta nor-ere vici baita, eta sinhesten baitu ni baithan, seculan eztun hilen. Sinhesten dun haur? (aiōn )
27 She says to Him; Yes Lord; I myself have believed that You yourself are the Christ the Son of God the [One] into the world coming.
Erraiten drauca, Bay, Iauna, nic diat sinhesten ecen hi aicela Christ Iaincoaren Seme mundura ethorteco cena.
28 And (these things *N(k)O*) having said she went away and she called Mary the sister of her secretly having said; The Teacher is come and He calls you.
Eta haur erranic, ioan cedin, eta secretuqui dei ceçan Maria bere ahizpá, cioela, Magistrua dun hemen, eta deitzen au.
29 She (then *no*) when she heard ([she] rose up *N(k)O*) quickly and (was coming *N(k)O*) to Him.
Hura, hori ençun duenean, iaiquiten da fitetz, eta ethorten da harengana.
30 Not yet now had come Jesus into the village, but was (still *no*) in the place where met with Him Martha.
Ecen oraino etzén ethorri Iesus burgura: baina cen Marthac encontratu çuen lekuan.
31 The then Jews who are being with her in the house and consoling her, having seen Mary that soon she rose up and went out, followed after her, (having supposed *N(K)O*) that she is going to the tomb that she may weep there.
Orduan harequin etchean ciraden Iuduac, eta hura consolatzen çutenac, ikussiric ecen Maria hain fitetz iaiqui, eta ilki cela, iarreiqui cequizquion hari, cioitela, Monumentera ioaiten da, han nigar daguiançat.
32 Therefore Mary when she came to where was (*k*) Jesus, having seen Him she fell of Him (at *N(k)O*) the feet saying to Him; Lord, if You had been here, not then would my have died brother.
Bada Mariac, ethor cedinean Iesus cen lekura, hura ikussiric, egotz ceçan bere buruä haren oinetara, ciotsala, Iauna, baldin içan bahinz hemen, etzuqueán hil ene anaye.
33 Jesus therefore when He saw her weeping and the having come with her Jews weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled Himself
Iesusec bada ikus ceçanean hura nigarrez legoela, eta harequin ethorri ciraden Iuduac nigarrez leudela, spirituz mouituric trubla ceçan bere buruä:
34 And He said; Where have you laid him? They say to Him; Lord, do come and do see.
Eta erran ceçan, Non eçarri duçue? Erraiten draucate, Iauna, athor eta ikussac.
Eta nigar eguin ceçan Iesusec.
36 Were saying therefore the Jews; Behold how He was loving him!
Erran ceçaten bada Iuduéc, Horra nola maite çuen.
37 Some however of them said; Surely was able this [man] who having opened the eyes of the blind to have caused that also this one not may have died?
Eta hetaric batzuc erran ceçaten, Ecin eguin ciroqueen itsuaren beguiac irequi dituen hunec, haur-ere hil ezladin?
38 Jesus therefore again being deeply moved in Himself He comes to the tomb; It was now a cave, and a stone was lying against it.
Iesus bada berriz bere baithan mouitzen cela, ethorten da monumentera, eta lecea cen, eta harribat haren gainera, eçarria.
39 Says Jesus; do take away the stone. Says to Him the sister of the [one] (having deceased *N(k)O*) Martha; Lord, already he stinks; four days for it is.
Dio Iesusec, Altcha eçaçue harria. Diotsa Marthac, hil içan cenaren arrebác, Iauna, kirestu duc gaurguero: ecen laur egunetacoa duc.
40 Says to her Jesus; Surely I said to you that if you shall believe you will see the glory of God?
Diotsa Iesusec, Eztraunat erran, ecen baldin sinhets badeçan ikussiren dunala Iaincoaren gloria?
41 They took away therefore the stone (where was who having died laid. *K*) Now Jesus lifted [His] eyes upwards and said; Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
Ken ceçaten bada harria, hila eçarri içan cen lekutic. Orduan Iesusec altchaturic goiti beguiac, erran ceçan, Aitá, esquerrac emaiten drauzquiat, ceren ençun bainauc:

Eta nic baniaquián ecen bethi ençuten nauala: baina inguru dagoen gendetzeagatic erran diát, sinhets deçatençat ecen hic igorri nauala.
43 And these things having said in a voice loud He cried out; Lazarus, come forth.
Eta hauc erranic, voz goraz oihu eguin ceçan, Lazaro, athor campora.
44 (and *k*) Came forth the [one] having died bound the feet and the hands with linen strips, and the face of him in a headcloth had bound about. Says to them Jesus: do unbind him and do allow him to go.
Eta hil içan cena ilki cedin, escuac eta oinac lothuraz lothuac cituela: eta haren beguithartea crobitchet batez cen estalia. Dioste Iesusec, Lacha eçaçue eta vtzi eçaçue ioaitera.
45 Many therefore of the Jews having come to Mary and having seen (what things *NK(o)*) He did (Jesus *k*) believed in Him.
Bada Iudu Mariagana ethorri ciradenetaric, eta Iesusec eguin cituen gauçác ikussi cituztenetaric anhitzec sinhets ceçaten hura baithan.
46 some however of them went to the Pharisees and told to them what did (*ko*) Jesus.
Baina hetaric batzu ioan citecen Phariseuetara, eta erran cietzen hæy Iesusec eguin cituen gauçác.
47 Gathered therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees a council and they were saying; What are we to do? For this man many does signs!
Orduan bil ceçaten Sacrificadore principaléc eta Phariseuéc conseillua, eta erraiten çuten, Cer eguiten dugu, ecen guiçon hunec anhitz signo eguiten du.
48 If we shall let him alone Him like this, all will believe in Him, and will come the Romans and will take away of us both the place and the nation.
Baldin hunela vtzi badeçagu, guciéc sinhetsiren duté hori baithan: eta ethorriren dirade Romanoac, eta arrasaturen duté bay gure lekua, bay nationea.
49 One however certain of them Caiaphas, high priest being on the year same, said to them; You yourselves not know no [thing],
Orduan hetaric batec, Caiphasec, cein baitzén vrthe hartaco Sacrificadore subirano, erran ciecén, Çuec eztaquiçue deus:
50 nor (consider you *N(k)O*) that it is profitable (for you *N(K)O*) that one man may die for the people, and not all the nation may perish.
Eta eztuçue pensatzen ecen probetchu dugula, guiçombat hil dadin populuagatic, eta natione gucia gal eztadin.
51 This now from himself not he said, but high priest being on the year that he prophesied that was about (*k*) Jesus to die for the nation,
Eta haur bere burutic etzeçan erran: baina nola baitzén vrthe hartaco Sacrificadore subirano, prophetiza ceçan ecen Iesusec hil behar luela nationeagatic.
52 and not for the nation only but that also the children of God those scattered He may gather together into one.
Eta ez solament natione harengatic, baina are Iaincoaren haour barreyatuac bil litzançát batetara
53 From that [very] therefore day (they plotted *N(k)O*) that they may kill Him.
Bada egun harçaz gueroztic consultatzen çutén elkarrequin hura hil leçatençát.
54 (*no*) Therefore Jesus no longer no longer publicly was walking among the Jews, but went away from there into the region near the wilderness to Ephraim being named a city, And there And there (He stayed *N(k)O*) with the disciples (of him. *k*)
Iesus bada guehiagoric etzabilan aguerriz Iuduén artean: baina ioan cedin handic desertuaren aldeco comarcarát, Ephraim deitzen den hirira: eta han egoiten cen bere discipuluequin.

Eta cen hurbil Iuduén bazcoa, eta igan cedin anhitz Ierusalemera comarca hartacoric bazco aitzinean, purifica litecençat.
56 They were seeking therefore Jesus and were saying among one another in the temple already standing; What does it seem to you, that certainly not He may come to the feast?
Bada Iesusen bilha çabiltzan, eta elkarren artean erraiten çutén, templean leudela, Cer irudi çaiçue, ecen eztela ethorriren bestara?
57 Had given now (also *k*) the chief priests and the Pharisees (commands *N(K)O*) that if anyone shall know where He is he shall show [it], so that they may seize Him.
Eta eman ceçaten Sacrificadore principaléc eta Phariseuéc manamendu, baldin nehorc eçagutzen balu non licén, eracuts leçan, hatzaman leçatençát.
