< Job 34 >
1 And he answered Elihu and he said.
Pea naʻe fai pe ʻe Elihu ʻa ʻene lea, ʻo ne pehē,
2 Hear O wise [men] words my and O [those who] know give ear to me.
“ʻAe kau tangata poto, mou fanongo ki heʻeku ngaahi lea; pea tokanga kiate au ʻakimoutolu kuo maʻu ʻae ʻilo.
3 For [the] ear words it tests and [the] palate it tastes to eat.
He ʻoku ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻe he telinga ʻae ngaahi lea, ʻo hangē ʻoku kamata ʻe he ngutu ʻae kai.
4 Justice let us choose for ourselves let us recognize between ourselves what? [is] good.
Ke tau fili kiate kitautolu ʻae fakamaau; ke tau ʻilo ʻiate kitautolu ʻaia ʻoku lelei.
5 For he has said Job I am righteous and God he has taken away right my.
He naʻe pehē ʻe Siope, ‘ʻOku ou māʻoniʻoni: pea kuo toʻo atu ʻe he ʻOtua hoku fakamaau.
6 On right my will I lie? [is] incurable arrow my not transgression.
He te u lohiakiʻi ʻa ʻeku totonu? ʻOku taʻefaʻafakamoʻui ʻa hoku lavea ʻi he taʻetalangataʻa.’
7 Who? [is] a man like Job he drinks mockery like water.
Ko hai ha tangata ʻoku tatau mo Siope, ʻoku ne inumia ʻae manuki ʻo hangē ko e vai?
8 And he travels for company with doers of evil and to walk with people of wickedness.
ʻAia ʻoku ne ʻalu fakataha mo e kau ngāue kovi, pea ʻeveʻeva mo e kau tangata angahala.
9 For he has said not it profits a man when is pleased he with God.
He naʻe pehē ʻe ia, ‘ʻOku ʻikai hano ʻaonga siʻi ki ha tangata ke ne fakafiefiaʻi ia ʻi he ʻOtua.’
10 Therefore - O people of heart listen to me far be it to God from wickedness and [the] Almighty from unrighteousness.
“Ko ia, fanongo mai kiate au, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau tangata faʻa ʻilo: ko e kovi, ke mamaʻo ia mei he ʻOtua, pea mo e angahala mei he Māfimafi.
11 For [the] work of a person he will repay to him and according to [the] way of a person he will make find him.
He ko e ngāue ʻae tangata te ne totongi kiate ia, pea fakaʻilo ki he tangata kotoa pē ʻo fakatatau ki hono ngaahi hala.
12 Also truly God not he acts wickedly and [the] Almighty not he perverts justice.
ʻIo, ko e moʻoni ʻe ʻikai fai kovi ʻae ʻOtua, pea ʻe ʻikai fakahalaʻi ʻae fakamaau ʻe he Māfimafi.
13 Who? did he assign on him [the] earth towards and who? did he put [the] world all of it.
14 If he will set to it heart his spirit his and breath his to himself he will gather.
Kapau te ne fakatokangaʻi hono finangalo ki he tangata, te ne tānaki kiate ia hono laumālie mo ʻene mānava;
15 It will expire all flesh together and humankind to dust it will return.
ʻE mate fakataha ʻae kakano kotoa pē, pea ʻe toe liliu ʻae tangata ko e efu.
16 And if understanding hear! this give ear! to [the] sound of words my.
“Kapau ʻoku ke maʻu ʻae faʻa ʻilo, fanongo eni: fakafanongo ki he leʻo ʻo ʻeku ngaahi lea.
17 ¿ Also [one who] hates justice will he govern and or? [the] righteous [one] [the] mighty [one] will you condemn as guilty.
Te ne faʻa pule ʻaia ʻoku fehiʻa ki he totonu? Pea te ke faʻa fakahalaiaʻi ʻaia ʻoku mātuʻaki angatonu?
18 ¿ To say to a king worthless person wicked [one] to noble [people].
He ʻoku ngali ke pehē ki ha tuʻi, ʻOku ke kovi? Pe ki he houʻeiki, ʻOku mou fai kovi?
19 Who not he lifts up - [the] faces of princes and not he regards a rich person before a poor [person] for [are the] work of hands his all of them.
Ka ʻe fēfē kiate ia ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai te ne filifilimānako ki he kakai houʻeiki, pea ʻoku ʻikai lahi hake ʻene tokanga ki he koloaʻia ʻi he masiva? He ko e ngāue ʻa hono nima ʻakinautolu kotoa pē.
20 A moment - they die and [the] middle of [the] night they are shaken a people so they may pass away and people may remove [the] mighty not by a hand.
Te nau mate fakafokifā pe, pea ʻe mamahi ʻae kakai ʻi he tuʻuapō mālie, pea nau mole atu: pea ʻe fetuku atu ʻae kau mālohi taʻehanima.
21 For eyes his [are] on [the] ways of everyone and all steps his he sees.
“He ʻoku ʻi he ngaahi fale ʻoe tangata ʻa hono fofonga, pea ʻoku ne ʻafioʻi ʻa hono ʻalunga kotoa pē.
22 There not [is] darkness and there not [is] deep darkness to hide themselves there [those who] do wickedness.
23 For not on a person he will appoint again to go to God in judgment.
Koeʻuhi ʻe [ʻi he meʻa ʻoku totonu]; koeʻuhi ke ne fie fakamaau ai mo e ʻOtua.
24 He breaks mighty [ones] not inquiry and he appointed others in place of them.
25 Therefore he is acquainted with deeds their and he overthrows [them] night so they may be crushed.
Ko ia ʻoku ne ʻilo ʻenau ngaahi ngāue, pea ʻoku ne fulihi ʻakinautolu ʻi he pō, pea ʻoku nau ʻauha ai.
26 In place of wicked [people] he slaps them in a place of [those who] see.
ʻOku ne taaʻi ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e kau tangata fai kovi, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai.
27 That there-fore they turned aside from after him and all ways his not they considered.
Koeʻuhi naʻa nau tafoki kimui meiate ia, pea ʻikai fie tokanga ki hono ngaahi hala:
28 To cause to come to him [the] outcry of [the] poor and [the] outcry of afflicted [people] he heard.
Ko ia ʻoku nau fakahoko ʻae tangi ʻae masiva ke aʻu atu kiate ia, pea ʻoku ne ongoʻi ʻae tangi ʻae mahaki.
29 And he he will keep quiet - and who? will he condemn [him] as guilty and he may hide face and who? will he observe him and over a nation and over a person alike.
30 From reigning a person godless from snares of a people.
Koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa pule ʻae mālualoi, telia naʻa fasiaʻi ʻae kakai.
31 For to God ¿ has anyone said I have borne not I will act corruptly.
“ʻOku taau moʻoni mo e ʻOtua ʻae lea pehē ki ai, kuo u kātaki, ʻe ʻikai te u fakamamahi.
32 Apart from [that which] I see O you instruct me if unrighteousness I have done not I will repeat.
Ko ia ʻoku ʻikai te u ʻilo ke ke ako ia kiate au: kapau kuo u fai angahala, ʻe ʻikai te u toe fai ia.
33 ¿ From with you will he repay it if you have rejected for you you will choose and not I and what? do you know speak.
ʻE fakatatau ia koā mo ho loto? Te ne totongi ia, ʻo kapau te ke ʻoua, pe te ke loto ki ai; kae ʻikai ko au: ko ia ke ke tala ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻilo.
34 People of heart they will say to me and a man wise [who] listens to me.
Ke tala kiate au ʻe he kau tangata faʻa ʻilo, pea ke fanongo kiate au ʻe ha tangata poto.
35 Job not with knowledge he speaks and words his not [are] with insight.
‘Kuo lea ʻa Siope ʻi he taʻeʻilo, pea ʻoku taʻepoto ʻa ʻene ngaahi lea.
36 Would that! he will be tested Job until perpetuity on answers among people of wickedness.
Ko hoku loto ke fakamaauʻi ʻa Siope ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga, koeʻuhi ko ʻene ngaahi tali ʻo hangē ko e kau tangata angahala.
37 For he adds to sin his transgression between us he claps and he multiplies words his to God.
He ʻoku ne fakahoko ʻae talangataʻa ki he angahala, ʻoku ne pasipasi hono nima ʻiate kitautolu, ʻo fakalahi ʻene ngaahi lea ki he ʻOtua.”
