< Job 31 >

1 A covenant I made to eyes my and what? will I look carefully on a virgin.
2 And what? - [is] [the] portion of God above and [the] inheritance of [the] Almighty from high places.
He aha ta te Atua wahi e tuwha mai ai i runga? He aha ta te Kaha Rawa taonga tupu i te wahi tiketike?
3 ¿ Not [does] calamity [belong] to an evil-doer and misfortune to [those who] do wickedness.
He teka ianei he whakangaromanga mo te tangata kino? he whiu mo nga kaimahi o te he?
4 ¿ Not he does he see ways my and all steps my does he count?
He teka ianei e kitea ana e ia oku ara, e taua ana e ia oku hikoinga katoa?
5 If I have walked with falsehood and it has made haste to deceit foot my.
Ki te mea i haere ahau i runga i te tekateka noa, a i hohoro toku waewae ki te tinihanga;
6 Let him weigh me in balances of righteousness and let him acknowledge God integrity my.
7 If it turned aside step my from the way and after eyes my it has gone heart my and to hands my it has stuck a blemish.
Ki te mea i kotiti ke toku hikoinga i te ara, a i whai toku ngakau i oku kanohi; a ki te mea i mau te tongi ki oku ringa;
8 Let me sow and another let him eat and produce my let them be rooted up.
Kati, ko ahau hei whakato, a ma tetahi atu e kai; ae ra, tukua nga hua o taku mara kia hutia atu.
9 If it has been deceived heart my on a woman and at [the] doorway of neighbor my I have lain in wait.
Ki te mea i whakawairangitia toku ngakau e te wahine, a i whanga ahau i te tatau o toku hoa;
10 Let her grind for another wife my and over her let them bow down! others.
Heoi kia huri paraoa taku wahine ma tetahi atu, kia piko iho ano hoki nga tangata ke ki runga i a ia.
11 For (that *Q(K)*) [is] wickedness (and that *Q(k)*) [is] iniquity judges.
He kino rawa hoki tera; ae ra, he he e tika ana kia whiua e nga kaiwhakawa:
12 For [is] a fire that [which] to Abaddon it will devour and all produce my it will root up.
He ahi hoki tera e kai ana ki te whakangaromanga rawa, poto noa aku hua katoa.
13 If I rejected [the] cause of male servant my and female servant my in complaint their with me.
Ki te mea i whakahaweatia e ahau te whakawa a taku pononga tane, a taku pononga wahine, i a raua e totohe ana ki ahau;
14 And what? will I do if he will arise God and if he will visit what? will I respond to him.
15 ¿ Not in the belly [the one who] made me did he make him and did prepare us? he in the womb one.
He teka ranei na toku kaihanga ia i hanga i roto i te kopu? a nana, na te kotahi, i whai ahua ai maua i roto i te puku?
16 If I withheld any of [the] desire of poor [people] and [the] eyes of a widow I caused to fail.
Ki te mea i kaiponuhia e ahau ta nga rawakore i hiahia ai, a meinga ana e ahau nga kanohi o te pouaru kia pau i te minamina;
17 And I may eat morsel of bread my to alone me and not he ate a fatherless one some of it.
Ki te mea ranei i kainga taku maramara e toku kotahi, a kihai te pani i kai i tetahi wahi;
18 For since youth my he grew up with me like a father and from [the] womb of mother my I guided her.
He mea whakatupu ia naku no toku taitamarikitanga ra ano me te mea ko tona papa ahau: ko te pouaru he mea arahi naku no te kopu ra ano o toku whaea;
19 If I saw [one who] was perishing because not clothing and not covering [belonged] to the needy [person].
Ki te mea i kite ahau i tetahi e tata ana ki te mate, he kore no te kakahu, a kahore he uhi mo te rawakore;
20 If not they blessed me (loins his *Q(K)*) and from [the] fleece of lambs my he warmed himself.
21 If I brandished on a fatherless one hand my for I saw in the gate help my.
Ki te mea i ara toku ringa hei pehi i te pani, i toku kitenga he awina tera moku kei te kuwaha;
22 Shoulder my from its shoulder let it fall and arm my from arm its let it be broken.
23 For [was] a fear to me calamity of God and from majesty his not I am able.
Ko te whiu hoki a te Atua taku i wehi ai; kihai hoki i taea e ahau te aha i tona nui.
24 If I have made gold confidence my and to pure gold I have said security my.
Ki te mea i u toku whakaaro ki te koura, a i mea ahau ki te koura parakore, Ko koe taku e whakawhirinaki atu ai;
25 If I rejoiced for [was] great wealth my and for much it had found hand my.
Ki te mea i koa ahau ki te maha o oku rawa, a ki te nui o ta toku ringa i whiwhi ai;
26 If I saw a light that it shone and [the] moon splendid [was] going.
Ki te mea i kite ahau i te ra e whiti ana, i te marama ranei e haere ana i tona tiahotanga;
27 And it was gullible in secrecy heart my and it kissed hand my mouth my.
A ka kumea pukutia atu toku ngakau, ka kihia toku ringa e toku mangai:
28 Also that [is] iniquity calling for judgment for I denied God above.
Na he kino tenei hei whiunga ma nga kaiwhakawa: he teka hoki naku ki te Atua i runga.
29 If I rejoiced in [the] disaster of [one who] hated me and I excited myself if it had found him calamity.
Ki te mea i koa ahau ki te whakangaromanga o te tangata i kino ki ahau, i whakaara ake ranei i ahau i te panga o te he ki a ia;
30 And not I have permitted to sin palate my by asking for by a curse life his.
Ae, kihai ahau i tuku i toku mangai kia hara, kihai i whai kia kanga tona wairua;
31 If not they have said [the] men of tent my who? will he give from meat his not [one who] is satisfied.
32 In the street not he passed [the] night a sojourner doors my to the path I opened.
Kihai te manene i moe i waho; i whakatuwheratia ano e ahau oku tatau ki te tangata haere;
33 If I have concealed like Adam transgressions my by hiding in bosom my iniquity my.
Ki te mea i pera ahau me Arama, i hipoki i oku he, i huna i toku kino ki roto ki toku uma;
34 For I feared - a multitude great and [the] contempt of clans it caused to be dismayed me and I was silent not I went outside [the] door.
35 Who? will he give [will belong] to me - [one who] listens to me here! mark my [the] Almighty let him answer me and a document [which] he had written [the] person of case my.
Aue, me i whakarongo mai tetahi ki ahau! Nana, tenei taku tohu, ma te Kaha Rawa e whakahoki mai he kupu ki ahau; me i ahau noa te pukapuka i tuhituhia e toku hoariri!
36 If not on shoulder my I will carry it I will tie on it a crown to myself.
Ina, kua amohia e ahau i runga i toku pokohiwi; kua herea e ahau hei karauna moku.
37 [the] number of Steps my I will tell to him like a chief I will approach him.
38 If on me land my it cried out and together furrows its they wept!
39 If produce its I have eaten not money and [the] life of owners its I have caused to breathe out.
Ki te mea i kainga e ahau ona hua, he mea kihai i utua, a naku ranei ona ariki i mate ai,
40 In place of wheat - let it come forth thorn[s] and in place of barley foul weed[s] they are finished [the] words of Job.
Na, kia riro pu te witi i te tataramoa, te parei i te taru kino. Heoi ano nga korero a Hopa.
