< Job 17 >
1 Spirit my it is broken days my they are extinguished grave [belong] to me.
Roho wakwa nĩmũthuthĩku, matukũ makwa nĩmathirĩte, mbĩrĩra nĩyo ĩnjetereire.
2 Not mockeries [are] with me and on rebelling they may it dwell eye my.
Ti-itherũ thiũrũrũkĩirio nĩ andũ a kũũnyũrũria; maitho makwa no nginya meerorere rũmena rwao.
3 Make! please stand surety for me with yourself who? that to hand my will he strike himself.
“Wee Ngai-rĩ, ta kĩĩhe kĩndũ gĩa kũrũgamĩrĩra thiirĩ wakwa kĩrĩa ũretia, tondũ-rĩ, nũũ ũngĩ ũngĩĩtĩkĩra kũruta kĩndũ gĩake kĩĩndũgamĩrĩre?
4 For heart their you have kept from understanding there-fore not you will exalt [them].
Wee nĩwaagithĩtie meciiria mao ũmenyo; nĩ ũndũ ũcio ndũngĩmetĩkĩria mahootane.
5 For a share he tells friends and [the] eyes of children his they will fail.

7 And it has grown dim from grief eye my and members my [are] like shadow all of them.
Maitho makwa nĩ maroora nĩ gwĩthikĩra; ciĩga ciakwa ciothe ihũthĩte o ta kĩĩruru.
8 They are appalled upright [people] on this and [the] innocent on [the] godless he will rouse himself.
Andũ arĩa arũngĩrĩru nĩmagegetio nĩ ũhoro ũcio; andũ arĩa matarĩ na ũũru mekĩte nĩmarahũkĩte mokĩrĩre andũ arĩa matooĩ Ngai.
9 And he may hold [the] righteous way his and [the] clean of hands he will increase strength.
O na kũrĩ ũguo-rĩ, arĩa athingu nĩmarĩrũmagia njĩra ciao, nao arĩa marĩ moko matheru nĩmarĩongagĩrĩrwo hinya.
10 And but all of them you will return and come please and not I will find among you a wise [person].
“No rĩrĩ, ta gĩũkei inyuothe, geriai o rĩngĩ! Niĩ ndirĩ ndĩrona mũndũ mũũgĩ gatagatĩ kanyu.
11 Days my they have passed plans my they have been torn apart [the] wishes of heart my.
Matukũ makwa nĩ mathiru, mĩbango yakwa nĩmĩharaganie, o na merirĩria ma ngoro yakwa.
12 Night into day they make light [is] near from before darkness.
Andũ aya magarũraga ũtukũ makaũtua mũthenya; nduma yamakinyĩrĩra moigaga atĩrĩ, ‘Ũtheri ũrĩ o hakuhĩ.’
13 If I will hope for Sheol home my in the darkness I have spread out beds my. (Sheol )
Angĩkorwo mũciĩ ũrĩa njĩrĩgĩrĩire no mbĩrĩra, angĩkorwo ingĩara ũrĩrĩ wakwa o nduma-inĩ-rĩ, (Sheol )
14 To the pit I have called out [are] father my you O mother my and sister my to the maggot.
angĩkorwo no njĩĩre ũhoro wa kũbutha atĩrĩ, ‘Wee nĩwe baba,’ na njĩĩre kĩgunyũ atĩrĩ, ‘Wee nĩwe maitũ’ kana ‘Nĩwe mwarĩ wa maitũ-rĩ’,
15 And where? then [is] hope my and hope my who? will he observe it.
mwĩhoko wakwa ũkĩrĩ kũ? Nũũ ũngĩnyonera mwĩhoko?
16 [the] poles of Sheol will they go down? or? together to [the] dust will we descend. (Sheol )
Na rĩrĩ, mwĩhoko nĩũharũrũkĩte nginya ihingo-inĩ cia gĩkuũ? Nĩtũgũgĩikũrũkania hamwe rũkũngũ-inĩ?” (Sheol )
