Job 17
1 Spirit my it is broken days my they are extinguished grave [belong] to me.
| تَلِفَتْ رُوحِي وَانْطَفَأَتْ أَيَّامِي، وَالْقَبْرُ مُعَدٌّ لِي. | ١ |
2 Not mockeries [are] with me and on rebelling they may it dwell eye my.
| الْمُسْتَهْزِئُونَ يُحَاصِرُونَنِي، الَّذِينَ تَشْهَدُ عَيْنِي مُشَاجَرَاتِهِمْ. | ٢ |
3 Make! please stand surety for me with yourself who? that to hand my will he strike himself.
| كُنْ لِي ضَامِناً عِنْدَ نَفْسِكَ، إِذْ مَنْ يُمْكِنُ أَنْ يَكُونَ كَفِيلِي؟ | ٣ |
4 For heart their you have kept from understanding there-fore not you will exalt [them].
| فَأَنْتَ حَجَبْتَ الْفِطْنَةَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ، لِذَلِكَ لَنْ تُظْفِرَهُمْ، | ٤ |
5 For a share he tells friends and [the] eyes of children his they will fail.
| وَلْتَتْلَفْ عُيُونُ أَبْنَاءِ مَنْ يَشِي بِأَصْحَابِهِ طَمَعاً فِي أَمْلاكِهِمْ. | ٥ |
6 And he has set me to use a proverb peoples and a spitting to [the] face I am.
| لَقَدْ جَعَلَنِي مَثَلاً لِلأُمَمِ، وَصَارَ وَجْهِي مَبْصَقَةً. | ٦ |
7 And it has grown dim from grief eye my and members my [are] like shadow all of them.
| كَلَّتْ عَيْنَايَ حُزْناً وَأَصْبَحَتْ أَعْضَائِي كَالظِّلِّ، | ٧ |
8 They are appalled upright [people] on this and [the] innocent on [the] godless he will rouse himself.
| فَزِعَ الْمُسْتَقِيمُونَ مِنْ هَذَا، وَثَارَ الْبَرِيءُ عَلَى الْفَاجِرِ، | ٨ |
9 And he may hold [the] righteous way his and [the] clean of hands he will increase strength.
| أَمَّا الصِّدِّيقُ فَيَتَمَسَّكُ بِطَرِيقِهِ، وَيَزْدَادُ الطَّاهِرُ الْيَدَيْنِ قُوَّةً. | ٩ |
10 And but all of them you will return and come please and not I will find among you a wise [person].
| وَلَكِنِ ارْجِعُوا جَمِيعُكُمْ، تَعَالَوْا كُلُّكُمْ، فَلا أَجِدُ فِيكُمْ حَكِيماً. | ١٠ |
11 Days my they have passed plans my they have been torn apart [the] wishes of heart my.
| قَدْ عَبَرَتْ أَيَّامِي، وَتَمَزَّقَتْ مَآرِبِي الَّتِي هِيَ رَغْبَاتُ قَلْبِي. | ١١ |
12 Night into day they make light [is] near from before darkness.
| يَجْعَلُونَ اللَّيْلَ نَهَاراً، وَعَلَى الرَّغْمِ مِنَ الظُّلْمَةِ يَقُولُونَ:’إِنَّ النُّورَ قَرِيبٌ!‘ | ١٢ |
| إِذَا رَجَوْتُ أَنْ تَكوُنَ الْهَاوِيَةُ مَقَرّاً لِي، وَمَهَّدْتُ فِي الظَّلامِ فِرَاشِي، (Sheol h7585) | ١٣ |
14 To the pit I have called out [are] father my you O mother my and sister my to the maggot.
| وَإِنْ قُلْتُ لِلْقَبْرِ أَنْتَ أَبِي، وَلِلدُّودِ أَنْتَ أُمِّي أَوْ أُخْتِي، | ١٤ |
15 And where? then [is] hope my and hope my who? will he observe it.
| فَأَيْنَ إِذاً آمَالِي؟ وَمَنْ يُعَايِنُ رَجَائِي؟ | ١٥ |
