Jeremiah 50
1 The word which he spoke Yahweh concerning Babylon concerning [the] land of [the] Chaldeans by [the] hand of Jeremiah the prophet.
La parole que l'Eternel prononça contre Babylone, [et] contre le pays des Caldéens, par le moyen de Jérémie le Prophète.
2 Declare among the nations and make a proclamation and lift up a standard make a proclamation may not you hide [it] say it will be captured Babylon it will be put to shame Bel it will be shattered Marduk they will be put to shame images its they will be shattered idols its.
Faites savoir parmi les nations, et publiez-le, et levez l'enseigne; publiez-le, ne le cachez point; dites: Babylone a été prise; Bel est rendu honteux; Mérodac est brisé, ses idoles sont rendues honteuses, et leurs dieux de fiente sont brisés.
3 For it will go up on it a nation from [the] north it it will make land its into a waste and not he will be an inhabitant in it from humankind and unto animal[s] they will take flight they will go.
Car une nation est montée contre elle de devers l'Aquilon, qui mettra son pays en désolation, et il n'y aura personne qui y habite; les hommes et les bêtes s'en sont fuis, ils s'en sont allés.
4 In the days those and at the time that [the] utterance of Yahweh they will come [the] people of Israel they and [the] people of Judah together going and weeping they will go and Yahweh God their they will seek.
En ces jours-là, et en ce temps-là, dit l'Eternel, les enfants d'Israël viendront, eux et les enfants de Juda ensemble; ils marcheront allant et pleurant, et cherchant l'Eternel leur Dieu.
5 Zion they will ask for [will be] [the] direction hither faces their come and they will join themselves to Yahweh a covenant of perpetuity not it will be forgotten.
Ceux de Sion s'enquerront du chemin vers lequel [ils devront dresser] leurs faces, [et ils diront]: venez, et vous joignez à l'Eternel. Il y a une alliance éternelle, elle ne sera jamais mise en oubli.
6 Sheep lost (they have become *Q(K)*) people my shepherds their they have caused to wander them mountains (they have led away them *Q(K)*) from mountain to hill they have gone they have forgotten resting place their.
Mon peuple a été comme des brebis perdues; leurs pasteurs les ont fait égarer, et les ont fait errer par les montagnes; ils sont allés de montagne en colline, et ils ont mis en oubli leur gîte.
7 All [those who] found them they devoured them and opponents their they said not we are guilty because that they have sinned to Yahweh [the] habitation of righteousness and [the] hope of ancestors their Yahweh.
Tous ceux qui les ont trouvées les ont mangées, et leurs ennemis ont dit: nous ne serons coupables d'aucun mal, parce qu'ils ont péché contre l'Eternel, contre le séjour de la justice; et l'Eternel a été l'attente de leurs pères.
8 Take flight from [the] midst of Babylon and from [the] land of [the] Chaldeans (go forth *Q(K)*) and be like male goats before [the] flock.
Fuyez hors de Babylone, et sortez du pays des Caldéens, et soyez comme les boucs qui vont devant le troupeau.
9 For here! I [am] about to rouse and [am] about to bring up on Babylon an assembly of nations great from a land of [the] north and they will line up to it from there it will be captured arrows its [will be] like a warrior skillful [who] not he returns empty.
Car voici, je m'en vais susciter et faire venir contre Babylone une assemblée de grandes nations du pays de l'Aquilon, qui se rangeront en bataille contre elle, de sorte qu'elle sera prise. Leurs flèches seront comme celles d'un homme puissant, qui ne fait que détruire, et qui ne retourne point à vide.
10 And it will become Chaldea plunder all [those who] plunder it they will be satisfied [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Et la Caldée sera abandonnée au pillage, et tous ceux qui la pilleront seront assouvis, dit l'Eternel.
11 That (you are rejoicing *Q(K)*) that (you are gloating *Q(K)*) O plunderers of inheritance my that (you are skipping about *Q(K)*) like a heifer threshing (so you may neigh *Q(K)*) like mighty [horses].
Parce que vous vous êtes réjouis, parce que vous vous êtes égayés, en ravageant mon héritage, parce que vous vous êtes engraissés comme une génisse qui est à l'herbe, et que vous avez henni comme de puissants chevaux.
12 She will be ashamed mother your exceedingly she will be abashed [the one who] gave birth you there! [the] last of nations a wilderness a desert and a desert plain.
Votre mère est devenue fort honteuse, et celle qui vous a enfantés a rougi; voici, elle sera toute la dernière entre les nations, elle sera un désert, un pays sec, une lande.
13 From [the] wrath of Yahweh not it will remain and it will be a waste all of it every [one who] passes by at Babylon he will be appalled and he may hiss on all wounds its.
Elle ne sera plus habitée à cause de l'indignation de l'Eternel, elle ne sera tout entière que désolation; quiconque passera près de Babylone sera étonné, et lui insultera à cause de toutes ses plaies.
14 Line up on Babylon - all around O all [those who] bend a bow shoot against it may not you spare an arrow for to Yahweh it has sinned.
Rangez-vous en bataille contre Babylone, mettez-vous tout alentour; vous tous qui tendez l'arc, tirez contre elle, et n'épargnez point les traits; car elle a péché contre l'Eternel.
15 Shout out on it all around it will give hand its they will fall (towers its *Q(k)*) they will be torn down walls its for [is] [the] vengeance of Yahweh that avenge yourself on it just as it has done do to it.
Jetez des cris de joie contre elle tout alentour; elle a tendu sa main; ses fondements sont tombés, ses murailles sont renversées; car c'est ici la vengeance de l'Eternel; vengez-vous d'elle; faites-lui comme elle a fait.
16 Cut off [the] sower from Babylon and [one who] wields a sickle at a time of harvest from before [the] sword of the oppressor everyone to people his they will turn and everyone to own land his they will flee.
Retranchez de Babylone le semeur, et celui qui tient la faucille au temps de la moisson; que chacun s'en retourne vers son peuple, et que chacun s'enfuie vers son pays, à cause de l'épée de l'oppresseur.
17 [is] sheep Scattered Israel [which] lions they have driven away the first [lion] he devoured it [the] king of Assyria and this the last [lion] he gnawed bones its Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon.
Israël est comme une brebis égarée que les lions ont effarouchée. Le Roi d'Assur l'a dévorée le premier, mais ce dernier-ci, Nébucadnetsar Roi de Babylone, lui a brisé les os.
18 Therefore thus he says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel here I [am] about to visit [judgment] to [the] king of Babylon and to land his just as I visited [judgment] to [the] king of Assyria.
C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: voici, je m'en vais visiter le Roi de Babylone et son pays, comme j'ai visité le Roi d'Assyrie.
19 And I will restore Israel to pasture its and it will graze Carmel and Bashan and in [the] hill country of Ephraim and Gilead it will be satisfied appetite its.
Et je ferai retourner Israël en ses cabanes; il paîtra en Carmel et en Basan, et son âme sera rassasiée en la montagne d'Ephraïm, et de Galaad.
20 In the days those and at the time that [the] utterance of Yahweh it will be sought [the] iniquity of Israel and there not [will be] it and [the] sins of Judah and not they will be found for I will forgive [those] whom I will leave as a remnant.
En ces jours-là, et en ce temps-là, dit l'Eternel, on cherchera l'iniquité d'Israël, mais il n'y en aura point; et les péchés de Juda, mais ils ne seront point trouvés; car je pardonnerai à ceux que j'aurai fait demeurer de reste.
21 On the land of Merathaim go up on it and against [the] inhabitants of Pekod kill and totally destroy after them [the] utterance of Yahweh and do according to all that I have commanded you.
[Venez] contre ce pays-là, vous [deux] rebelles; monte contre lui, et contre les habitants destinés à la visitation; taris, et détruis à la façon de l'interdit après eux, dit l'Eternel, et fais selon toutes les choses que je t'ai commandées.
22 A sound of battle [will be] in the land and destruction great.
L'alarme est au pays, et une grande calamité.
23 How! it has been cut off and it has been broken [the] hammer of all the earth how! it has become a horror Babylon among the nations.
Comment est mis en pièces et est rompu le marteau de toute la terre! Comment Babylone est-elle réduite en sujet d'étonnement parmi les nations!
24 I set a trap for you and also you were caught O Babylon and you not you knew you were found and also you were caught for with Yahweh you engaged in strife.
Je t'ai tendu des filets, et aussi as-tu été prise, ô Babylone! et tu n'en savais rien; tu as été trouvée, et même attrapée, parce que tu t'en es prise à l'Eternel.
25 He has opened Yahweh armory his and he has brought out [the] weapons of indignation his for a work it [belongs] to [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts in [the] land of [the] Chaldeans.
L'Eternel a ouvert son arsenal, et en a tiré les armes de son indignation; parce que le Seigneur l'Eternel des armées a une entreprise à exécuter dans le pays des Caldéens.
26 Come to it from [the] end open granaries its pile up it like heaps and totally destroy it may not it belong to it a remnant.
Venez contre elle des bouts de la terre, ouvrez ses granges, foulez-la comme des javelles; détruisez-la à la façon de l'interdit, et qu'elle n'ait rien de reste.
27 Kill all young bulls its let them go down to the slaughter woe! on them for it has come day their [the] time of punishment their.
Coupez la gorge à tous ses veaux, et qu'ils descendent à la tuerie; malheur à eux! car le jour est venu, le temps de leur visitation.
28 [the] sound of Fugitives and escapees from [the] land of Babylon to declare in Zion [the] vengeance of Yahweh God our [the] vengeance of temple his.
[On entend] la voix de ceux qui s'enfuient, et qui sont échappés du pays de Babylone, pour annoncer dans Sion la vengeance de l'Eternel notre Dieu, la vengeance de son Temple.
29 Summon against Babylon - archers all [those who] bend a bow encamp on it all around may not (it be to it *Q(K)*) escape repay to it according to deed[s] its according to all that it has done do to it for Yahweh it has defied proudly [the] holy [one] of Israel.
Assemblez à cri public les archers contre Babylone; vous tous qui tirez de l'arc, campez-vous contre elle tout alentour; que personne n'échappe; rendez-lui selon ses œuvres; faites-lui selon tout ce qu'elle a fait; car elle s'est fièrement portée contre l'Eternel, contre le Saint d'Israël.
30 Therefore they will fall young men its in open places its and all [the] men of war its they will be silenced on the day that [the] utterance of Yahweh.
C'est pourquoi ses gens d'élite tomberont dans les places, et on fera perdre la parole à tous ses gens de guerre en ce jour-là, dit l'Eternel.
31 Here I [am] against you O arrogance [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts that it has come day your [the] time [when] I will visit you.
Voici, j'en veux à toi, qui es la fierté même, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel des armées; car ton jour est venu, le temps auquel je te visiterai.
32 And it will stumble arrogance and it will fall and not [will belong] to it [one who] raises up and I will kindle fire in cities its and it will devour all around it.
La fierté bronchera et tombera, et il n'y aura personne qui la relève; j'allumerai aussi le feu en ses villes, et il dévorera tous ses environs.
33 Thus he says Yahweh of hosts [are] oppressed [the] people of Israel and [the] people of Judah together and all captors their they have kept hold on them they have refused to let go them.
Ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées: les enfants d'Israël et les enfants de Juda ont été ensemble opprimés; tous ceux qui les ont pris les retiennent, et ont refusé de les laisser aller.
34 Redeemer their - [is] strong [is] Yahweh of hosts name his certainly he will conduct case their so as to give rest to the earth and to cause disquiet to [the] inhabitants of Babylon.
Leur Rédempteur est fort, son Nom [est] l'Eternel des armées; il plaidera avec chaleur leur cause, pour donner du repos au pays, et mettre dans le trouble les habitants de Babylone.
35 A sword on [the] Chaldeans [the] utterance of Yahweh and against [the] inhabitants of Babylon and against officials its and against wise [people] its.
L'épée est sur les Caldéens, dit l'Eternel, et sur les habitants de Babylone, sur ses principaux, et sur ses sages.
36 A sword against the empty talkers and they will become fools a sword against warriors its and they will be shattered.
L'épée est tirée contre ses Devins, et ils en perdront l'esprit; l'épée est sur ses hommes forts, et ils [en] seront épouvantés.
37 A sword against horses its and against chariotry its and against every foreigner who [is] in [the] midst of it and they will become women a sword against treasuries its and they will be plundered.
L'épée est sur ses chevaux, et sur ses chariots, et sur tout l'amas de diverses sortes de gens lequel [est] au milieu d'elle, et ils deviendront [comme] des femmes; l'épée est sur ses trésors, et ils seront pillés.
38 A drought against waters its and they will dry up for [is] a land of idols it and in terrors they will act like mad people.
La sécheresse sera sur ses eaux, et elles tariront; parce que c'est un pays d'images taillées, et ils agiront en insensés à l'égard de leurs dieux qui les épouvantent.
39 Therefore they will dwell desert-dwellers with hyenas and they will dwell in it daughters of an ostrich and not it will remain again to perpetuity and not it will settle until a generation and a generation.
C'est pourquoi les bêtes sauvages des déserts avec celles des Iles y habiteront, et les chats-huants y habiteront aussi; et elle ne sera plus habitée à jamais, et on n'y demeurera point en quelque temps que ce soit.
40 Like [the] overthrow of God Sodom and Gomorrah and neighbors its [the] utterance of Yahweh not he will dwell there anyone and not he will sojourn in it a child of humankind.
Il n'y demeurera personne, a dit l'Eternel, et aucun fils d'homme n'y habitera, comme dans la subversion que Dieu a faite de Sodome et de Gomorrhe, et de leurs lieux circonvoisins.
41 There! a people [is] about to come from [the] north and a nation great and kings many they will be roused from [the] remotest parts of [the] earth.
Voici, un peuple et une grande nation vient de l'Aquilon, et plusieurs Rois se réveilleront du fond de la terre.
42 Bow and javelin they will take hold of [will be] cruel they and not they will have mercy sound their [will be] like the sea [which] it roars and on horses they will ride arranged like a man for battle on you O daughter of Babylon.
Ils prendront l'arc et l'étendard; ils sont cruels, et ils n'auront point de compassion; leur voix bruira comme la mer, et ils seront montés sur des chevaux; chacun d'eux est rangé en homme de guerre contre toi, fille de Babylone.
43 He heard [the] king of Babylon report their and they hung limp hands his distress it took hold of him anguish like [woman] giving birth.
Le Roi de Babylone en a ouï le bruit, et ses mains en sont devenues lâches; l'angoisse l'a saisi, [et] un travail comme de celle qui enfante.
44 There! like a lion [which] it goes up from [the] thicket[s] of the Jordan to pastureland of an ever-flowing [stream] for I will act in a moment (I will cause to run them *Q(K)*) from on it and whoever [is] chosen to it I will appoint for who? [is] like me and who? will he summon me and who? this [is] a shepherd who he will stand before me.
Voici, il montera comme un lion à cause de l'enflure du Jourdain, vers la demeure du pays rude, et après que je les aurai fait reposer je les ferai courir hors de la Caldée, et qui est d'élite, que je lui donne commission contre elle? Car qui est semblable à moi? et qui me déterminera le temps? et qui sera le Pasteur qui tiendra ferme contre moi?
45 Therefore hear [the] plan of Yahweh which he has planned against Babylon and purposes his which he has purposed against [the] land of [the] Chaldeans if not people will drag away them [the] young [ones] of the flock if not he will devastate on them [the] pastureland.
C'est pourquoi écoutez la résolution que l'Eternel a prise contre Babylone, et les desseins qu'il a faits contre le pays des Caldéens: si les plus petits du troupeau ne les traînent par terre, et si on ne réduit en désolation leurs cabanes sur eux.
46 From [the] sound it has been captured Babylon it will quake the earth and a cry of distress among the nations it will be heard.
La terre a été ébranlée du bruit de la prise de Babylone, et le cri en a été ouï parmi les nations.
