Jeremiah 49
1 Of [the] people of Ammon thus he says Yahweh ¿ [do] children not [belong] to Israel or? [does] an heir not [belongs] to it why? has he dispossessed Milcom Gad and people his in cities its has it dwelt?
Sur les enfants d’Ammon. Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Israël n’a-t-il point de fils? N’a-t-il point d’héritier? Pourquoi Malcom possède-t-il Gad, Et son peuple habite-t-il ses villes?
2 Therefore here! days [are] coming [the] utterance of Yahweh and I will sound aloud against Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon a shout of battle and it will become a mound of desolation and daughters its with fire they will be kindled and it will dispossess Israel [those who] dispossessed it he says Yahweh.
C’est pourquoi voici, les jours viennent, dit l’Éternel, Où je ferai retentir le cri de guerre contre Rabbath des enfants d’Ammon; Elle deviendra un monceau de ruines, Et les villes de son ressort seront consumées par le feu; Alors Israël chassera ceux qui l’avaient chassé, dit l’Éternel.

Pourquoi te glorifies-tu de tes vallées? Ta vallée se fond, fille rebelle, Qui te confiais dans tes trésors: Qui viendra contre moi?

Voici, je fais venir sur toi la terreur, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel des armées, Elle viendra de tous tes alentours; Chacun de vous sera chassé devant soi, Et nul ne ralliera les fuyards.
6 And after thus I will turn back [the] captivity of [the] people of Ammon [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Mais après cela, je ramènerai les captifs des enfants d’Ammon, Dit l’Éternel.
7 Of Edom thus he says Yahweh of hosts ¿ [is] there not still wisdom in Teman has it been lost? counsel from understanding [people] has it been corrupted? wisdom their.
Sur Édom. Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: N’y a-t-il plus de sagesse dans Théman? La prudence a-t-elle disparu chez les hommes intelligents? Leur sagesse s’est-elle évanouie?
8 Flee be turned back make deep to dwell O inhabitants of Dedan for [the] disaster of Esau I will bring on it a time [when] I will visit it.
Fuyez, tournez le dos, retirez-vous dans les cavernes, Habitants de Dedan! Car je fais venir le malheur sur Ésaü, Le temps de son châtiment.
9 If grape gatherers they came to you not will they leave? gleanings if thieves in the night they destroyed sufficiency their.
Si des vendangeurs viennent chez toi, Ne laissent-ils rien à grappiller? Si des voleurs viennent de nuit, Ils ne dévastent que ce qu’ils peuvent.
10 For I I will strip bare Esau I will uncover hiding places its and it will hide itself not it will be able it will be devastated offspring its and relatives its and neighbors its and there not [will be] it.
Mais moi, je dépouillerai Ésaü, Je découvrirai ses retraites, Il ne pourra se cacher; Ses enfants, ses frères, ses voisins, périront, Et il ne sera plus.
11 Leave! fatherless your I I will preserve [them] alive and widows your on me let them rely.
Laisse tes orphelins, je les ferai vivre, Et que tes veuves se confient en moi!
12 For thus - he says Yahweh there! [those] who not sentence their [was] to drink the cup completely they will drink [it] and you he completely will you be exempt from punishment? not you will be exempt from punishment for certainly you will drink [it].
Car ainsi parle l’Éternel: Voici, ceux qui ne devaient pas boire la coupe la boiront; Et toi, tu resterais impuni! Tu ne resteras pas impuni, Tu la boiras.
13 For by myself I swear [the] utterance of Yahweh that a waste a reproach a desolation and a curse it will become Bozrah and all cities its they will become ruins of perpetuity.
Car je le jure par moi-même, dit l’Éternel, Botsra sera un objet de désolation, d’opprobre, De dévastation et de malédiction, Et toutes ses villes deviendront des ruines éternelles.
14 A report I have heard from with Yahweh and an envoy among the nations [has been] sent gather together and come on it and rise up for battle.
J’ai appris de l’Éternel une nouvelle, Et un messager a été envoyé parmi les nations: Assemblez-vous, et marchez contre elle! Levez-vous pour la guerre!
15 For here! small I will make you among the nations despised among humankind.
Car voici, je te rendrai petit parmi les nations, Méprisé parmi les hommes.
16 Horror your it has deceived you [the] arrogance of heart your O dweller in [the] clefts of the rock O occupant of [the] height[s] of a hill for you will make high like eagle nest your from there I will bring down you [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Ta présomption, l’orgueil de ton cœur t’a égaré, Toi qui habites le creux des rochers, Et qui occupes le sommet des collines. Quand tu placerais ton nid aussi haut que celui de l’aigle, Je t’en précipiterai, dit l’Éternel.
17 And it will become Edom a horror every [one who] passes by at it he will be appalled and he may hiss on all wounds its.
Édom sera un objet de désolation; Tous ceux qui passeront près de lui Seront dans l’étonnement et siffleront sur toutes ses plaies.
18 Like [the] overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and neighbors its he says Yahweh not he will dwell there anyone and not he will sojourn in it a child of humankind.
Comme Sodome et Gomorrhe et les villes voisines, qui furent détruites, Dit l’Éternel, Il ne sera plus habité, Il ne sera le séjour d’aucun homme…
19 There! like a lion [which] it goes up from [the] thicket[s] of the Jordan to pastureland of an ever-flowing [stream] for I will act in a moment I will cause to run it from on it and whoever [is] chosen to it I will appoint for who? [is] like me and who? will he summon me and who? this [is] a shepherd who he will stand before me.
Voici, tel qu’un lion, il monte des rives orgueilleuses du Jourdain Contre la demeure forte; Soudain j’en ferai fuir Édom, Et j’établirai sur elle celui que j’ai choisi. Car qui est semblable à moi? qui me donnera des ordres? Et quel est le chef qui me résistera?
20 Therefore hear [the] plan of Yahweh which he has planned against Edom and purposes his which he has purposed against [the] inhabitants of Teman if not people will drag away them [the] young [ones] of the flock if not he will devastate on them pastureland their.
C’est pourquoi écoutez la résolution que l’Éternel a prise contre Édom, Et les desseins qu’il a conçus contre les habitants de Théman! Certainement on les traînera comme de faibles brebis, Certainement on ravagera leur demeure.
21 From [the] sound of falling they it will shake the earth of [the] calling out at [the] sea of reed[s] it will be heard sound its.
Au bruit de leur chute, la terre tremble; Leur cri se fait entendre jusqu’à la mer Rouge…
22 There! like eagle someone will ascend and he may swoop down so he may spread out wings his over Bozrah and it will be [the] heart of [the] warriors of Edom on the day that like [the] heart of a woman in labor.
Voici, comme l’aigle il s’avance, il vole, Il étend ses ailes sur Botsra, Et le cœur des héros d’Édom est en ce jour Comme le cœur d’une femme en travail.
23 Of Damascus it will be ashamed Hamath and Arpad for new[s] bad they have heard they will melt away [is] in the sea anxiety to be quiet not it will be able.
Sur Damas. Hamath et Arpad sont confuses, Car elles ont appris une mauvaise nouvelle, elles tremblent; C’est une mer en tourmente, Qui ne peut se calmer.
24 It will be disheartened Damascus it will turn back to flee and panic - it will take hold distress and pains it will seize it like [woman] giving birth.
Damas est défaillante, elle se tourne pour fuir, Et l’effroi s’empare d’elle; L’angoisse et les douleurs la saisissent, Comme une femme en travail.
25 How! not it has been forsaken a city of (praise *Q(K)*) [the] town of joy my.
Ah! Elle n’est pas abandonnée, la ville glorieuse, La ville qui fait ma joie!
26 Therefore they will fall young men its in open places its and all [the] men of war they will be silenced in the day that [the] utterance of Yahweh of hosts.
C’est pourquoi ses jeunes gens tomberont dans les rues, Et tous ses hommes de guerre périront en ce jour, Dit l’Éternel des armées.
27 And I will kindle a fire at [the] wall of Damascus and it will consume [the] fortresses of Ben Hadad.
Je mettrai le feu aux murs de Damas, Et il dévorera les palais de Ben-Hadad.
28 Of Kedar - and of [the] kingdoms of Hazor which he attacked (Nebuchadnezzar *Q(K)*) [the] king of Babylon thus he says Yahweh arise go up against Kedar and devastate [the] people of [the] east.
Sur Kédar et les royaumes de Hatsor, que battit Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone. Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Levez-vous, montez contre Kédar, Et détruisez les fils de l’Orient!
29 Tents their and flock[s] their people will take away tent curtains their and all equipment their and camels their they will carry off for themselves and people will call out to them terror [is] from round about.
On prendra leurs tentes et leurs troupeaux, On enlèvera leurs pavillons, tous leurs bagages et leurs chameaux, Et l’on jettera de toutes parts contre eux des cris d’épouvante.
30 Flee take flight exceedingly make deep to dwell O inhabitants of Hazor [the] utterance of Yahweh that he has planned on you Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon a plan and he has purposed (on you *Q(K)*) a purpose.
Fuyez, fuyez de toutes vos forces, cherchez à l’écart une demeure, Habitants de Hatsor! Dit l’Éternel; Car Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, a pris une résolution contre vous, Il a conçu un projet contre vous.
31 Arise go up against a nation at ease [which] dwells to security [the] utterance of Yahweh not a pair of gates and not a bar [belong] to it alone they dwell.
Levez-vous, montez contre une nation tranquille, En sécurité dans sa demeure, dit l’Éternel; Elle n’a ni portes, ni barres, Elle habite solitaire.
32 And they will become camels their spoil and [the] abundance of livestock their plunder and I will scatter them to every wind [those who] are cut off of [the] corner and from all sides its I will bring disaster their [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Leurs chameaux seront au pillage, Et la multitude de leurs troupeaux sera une proie; Je les disperserai à tous les vents, ceux qui se rasent les coins de la barbe, Et je ferai venir leur ruine de tous les côtés, dit l’Éternel.
33 And it will become Hazor a habitation of jackals a desolation until perpetuity not he will dwell there anyone and not he will sojourn in it a child of humankind.
Hatsor sera le repaire des chacals, un désert pour toujours; Personne n’y habitera, aucun homme n’y séjournera.
34 Which it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam at [the] beginning of [the] reign of Zedekiah [the] king of Judah saying.
La parole de l’Éternel qui fut adressée à Jérémie, le prophète, sur Élam, au commencement du règne de Sédécias, roi de Juda, en ces mots:
35 Thus he says Yahweh of hosts here I [am] about to break [the] bow of Elam [the] beginning of strength their.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Voici, je vais briser l’arc d’Élam, Sa principale force.
36 And I will bring against Elam four winds from [the] four [the] ends of the heavens and I will scatter them to all the winds these and not it will be the nation where not it will go there [the] outcasts of (Elam. *Q(K)*)
Je ferai venir sur Élam quatre vents des quatre extrémités du ciel, Je les disperserai par tous ces vents, Et il n’y aura pas une nation Où n’arrivent des fugitifs d’Élam.
37 And I will shatter Elam (before *LAB(h)*) enemies their and before - [those who] seek life their and I will bring on them - calamity [the] burning of anger my [the] utterance of Yahweh and I will send after them the sword until have made an end of I them.
Je ferai trembler les habitants d’Élam devant leurs ennemis Et devant ceux qui en veulent à leur vie, J’amènerai sur eux des malheurs, Mon ardente colère, dit l’Éternel, Et je les poursuivrai par l’épée, Jusqu’à ce que je les aie anéantis.
38 And I will set throne my in Elam and I will destroy from there king and officials [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Je placerai mon trône dans Élam, Et j’en détruirai le roi et les chefs, Dit l’Éternel.
39 And it will be - at [the] end of the days (I will turn back *Q(K)*) ([the] captivity of *Q(k)*) Elam [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Mais dans la suite des temps, je ramènerai les captifs d’Élam, Dit l’Éternel.
