Jeremiah 41

1 And it was - in the month seventh he came Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah [the] son of Elishama one of [the] offspring of royalty and [the] chiefs of the king and ten men [who were] with him to Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam Mizpah towards and they were eating there food together at Mizpah.

Or il arriva au septième mois qu'Ismaël fils de Néthania, fils d'Elisamah, de la race royale, et l'un des principaux de chez le Roi, et dix hommes avec lui, vinrent vers Guédalia fils d'Ahikam à Mitspa, et mangèrent là du pain ensemble à Mitspa.

2 And he arose Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah and [the] ten the men - who they were with him and they struck down Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam [the] son of Shaphan with the sword and he killed him whom he had appointed [the] king of Babylon over the land.

Mais Ismaël fils de Néthania se leva, et les dix hommes qui étaient avec lui, et ils frappèrent avec l'épée Guédalia fils d'Ahikam, fils de Saphan, et on le fit mourir, lui que le Roi de Babylone avait commis sur le pays.

3 And all the Jews who they were with him with Gedaliah at Mizpah and the Chaldeans who they were found there [the] men of war he struck down Ishmael.

Ismaël frappa aussi tous les Juifs qui étaient avec lui, [c'est-à-dire], avec Guédalia à Mitspa, et les Caldéens, gens de guerre, qui furent trouvés là.

4 And it was on the day second of killing Gedaliah and anyone not he knew.

Et il arriva que le jour après qu'on eut fait mourir Guédalia, avant que personne le sût,

5 And they came men from Shechem from Shiloh and from Samaria eighty man shaven of beard and torn of clothes and having cut themselves and an offering and frankincense in hand their to bring [the] house of Yahweh.

Quelques hommes de Sichem, de Silo, et de Samarie; en tout quatre-vingts hommes, ayant la barbe rasée, les vêtements déchirés, et s'étant fait des incisions, vinrent avec des dons et de l'encens dans leurs mains pour les apporter en la maison de l'Eternel.

6 And he went out Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah to meet them from Mizpah going continually and weeping and it was when met them and he said to them come to Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam.

Alors Ismaël fils de Néthania sortit de Mitspa au devant d'eux, et il marchait en pleurant, et quand il les eut rencontrés, il leur dit: venez vers Guédalia fils d'Ahikam.

7 And it was when came they into [the] middle of the city and he slaughtered them Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah into [the] middle of the cistern he and the men who [were] with him.

Mais sitôt qu'ils furent venus au milieu de la ville, Ismaël fils de Néthania, accompagné des hommes qui étaient avec lui, les égorgea, [et les jeta] dans une fosse.

8 And ten men they were found among them and they said to Ishmael may not you kill us for there is [belonging] to us treasures in the field wheat and barley and oil and honey and he refrained and not he killed them in among relatives their.

Mais il se trouva dix hommes entre eux qui dirent à Ismaël: ne nous fais point mourir, car nous avons dans les champs des amas secrets de froment, d'orge, d'huile, et de miel; et il les laissa, et ne les fit point mourir avec leurs frères.

9 And the cistern where he threw there Ishmael - all [the] corpses of the men whom he had struck down by [the] hand of Gedaliah it [was [the] one] which he had made the king Asa because of Baasha [the] king of Israel it he filled Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah [those] slain.

Et la fosse dans laquelle Ismaël jeta les corps morts des hommes qu'il tua à l'occasion de Guédalia est celle que le Roi Asa avait fait faire lorsqu'il eut peur de Bahasa Roi d'Israël; et Ismaël fils de Néthania la remplit de gens tués.

10 And he took captive - Ishmael all [the] rest of the people which [was] in Mizpah [the] daughters of the king and all the people who remained at Mizpah whom he had appointed Nebuzaradan [the] chief of [the] bodyguards with Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam and he took captive them Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah and he went to pass over to [the] people of Ammon.

Et Ismaël emmena prisonniers tous ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés de reste à Mitspa, [savoir] les filles du Roi, et tout le peuple qui était demeuré de reste à Mitspa, que Nébuzar-adan prévôt de l'hôtel avait commis à Guédalia fils d'Ahikam; Ismaël, dis-je, fils de Néthania, les emmenait prisonniers, et s'en allait pour passer vers les enfants de Hammon.

11 And he heard Johanan [the] son of Kareah and all [the] commanders of the armies who [were] with him all the evil which he had done Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah.

Mais Johanan fils de Karéah, et tous les Capitaines des gens de guerre qui étaient avec lui, ayant entendu tout le mal qu'Ismaël fils de Néthania avait fait;

12 And they took all the men and they went to do battle with Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah and they found him to water great which [is] in Gibeon.

Et ayant pris tous leurs gens ils s'en allèrent pour combattre contre Ismaël fils de Néthania, lequel ils rencontrèrent près des grosses eaux qui sont à Gabaon.

13 And it was when saw all the people which [was] with Ishmael Johanan [the] son of Kareah and all [the] commanders of the armies who [were] with him and they were glad.

Et il arriva qu'aussitôt que tout le peuple qui était avec Ismaël eut vu Johanan fils de Karéah, et tous les Capitaines des gens de guerre qui [étaient] avec lui, ils s'en réjouirent.

14 And they turned round all the people which he had taken captive Ishmael from Mizpah and they turned back and they went to Johanan [the] son of Kareah.

Et tout le peuple qu'Ismaël emmenait prisonnier de Mitspa tourna visage, et se retournant ils s'en allèrent vers Johanan fils de Karéah.

15 And Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah he escaped with eight men from before Johanan and he went to [the] people of Ammon.

Mais Ismaël fils de Néthania échappa avec huit hommes de devant Johanan, et s'en alla vers les enfants de Hammon.

16 And he took Johanan [the] son of Kareah and all [the] commanders of the armies who [were] with him all [the] rest of the people which he had brought back from with Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah from Mizpah after he had struck down Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam men [the] men of war and women and little one[s] and court-officials whom he had brought back from Gibeon.

Et Johanan fils de Karéah, et tous les Capitaines des gens de guerre qui étaient avec lui prirent tout le reste du peuple qu'ils avaient retiré des mains d'Ismaël fils de Néthania, [qu'il emmenait prisonnier] de Mitspa, après qu'il eut frappé Guédalia fils d'Ahikam, [savoir] les vaillants hommes de guerre, et les femmes, et les enfants, et les Eunuques; et les ramenèrent de Gabaon.

17 And they went and they remained at Geruth (Kimham *Q(K)*) which [is] beside Beth-lehem to go to go Egypt.

Et ils s'en allèrent et demeurèrent à Guéruth-kimham, auprès de Bethléhem, pour s'en aller et se retirer en Egypte,

18 From before the Chaldeans for they were afraid of them for he had struck down Ishmael [the] son of Nethaniah Gedaliah [the] son of Ahikam whom he had appointed [the] king of Babylon over the land.

A cause des Caldéens; car ils avaient peur d'eux, parce qu'Ismaël fils de Néthania avait tué Guédalia fils d'Ahikam, qui avait été commis sur le pays par le Roi de Babylone.
