Jeremiah 36
1 And it was in the year fourth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah it came the word this to Jeremiah from with Yahweh saying.
Katika mwaka wa nne wa Yehoyakimu mwana wa Yosia mfalme wa Yuda, neno hili lilimjia nabii Yeremia kutoka kwa Bwana, kusema:
2 Take for yourself a scroll of a document and you will write to it all the words which I have spoken to you on Israel and on Judah and on all the nations from [the] day [when] I spoke to you from [the] days of Josiah and until the day this.
“Chukua kitabu uandike ndani yake maneno yote niliyonena nawe kuhusu Israeli, Yuda na mataifa mengine yote, tangu nilipoanza kunena nawe wakati wa utawala wa Yosia hadi sasa.
3 Perhaps they will hear [the] house of Judah all the harm which I [am] planning to do to them so that they may turn back everyone from way his evil and I will forgive iniquity their and sin their.
Labda watu wa Yuda watakaposikia juu ya kila maafa ninayokusudia kuwapiga nayo, kila mmoja wao atageuka kutoka njia zake mbaya, kisha nitasamehe uovu wao na dhambi yao.”
4 And he called Jeremiah Baruch [the] son of Neriah and he wrote Baruch from [the] mouth of Jeremiah all [the] words of Yahweh which he had spoken to him on a scroll of a document.
Hivyo Yeremia akamwita Baruku mwana wa Neria, naye Yeremia alipokuwa akiyakariri maneno yote aliyoyasema Bwana, Baruku akayaandika katika kitabu.
5 And he commanded Jeremiah Baruch saying I [am] shut up not I am able to go [the] house of Yahweh.
Kisha Yeremia akamwambia Baruku, “Nimezuiliwa, mimi siwezi kuingia katika Hekalu la Bwana.
6 And you will go you and you will read aloud in the scroll which you have written from mouth my [the] words of Yahweh in [the] ears of the people [the] house of Yahweh on a day of fasting and also in [the] ears of all Judah who are coming from cities their you will read aloud them.
Basi wewe nenda katika nyumba ya Bwana siku ya kufunga, uwasomee watu maneno ya Bwana kutoka kitabu hiki yale uliyoyaandika kutoka kinywani mwangu. Wasomee watu wote wa Yuda waliofika kutoka miji yao.
7 Perhaps it will fall supplication their before Yahweh so they may turn back everyone from way his evil for [is] great the anger and the rage which he has spoken Yahweh against the people this.
Labda wataomba na kusihi mbele za Bwana na kila mmoja akageuka kutoka njia zake mbaya, kwa sababu hasira na ghadhabu zilizotamkwa dhidi ya watu hawa na Bwana ni kubwa.”
8 And he did Baruch [the] son of Neriah according to all that he had commanded him Jeremiah the prophet to read aloud in the scroll [the] words of Yahweh [the] house of Yahweh.
Baruku mwana wa Neria akafanya kila kitu nabii Yeremia alichomwambia kufanya. Alisoma maneno ya Bwana katika Hekalu la Bwana kutoka kile kitabu.
9 And it was in the year fifth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah in the month ninth they proclaimed a fast before Yahweh all the people in Jerusalem and all the people who were coming from [the] cities of Judah in Jerusalem.
Katika mwezi wa tisa, mnamo mwaka wa tano wa Yehoyakimu mwana wa Yosia mfalme wa Yuda, wakati wa kufunga mbele za Bwana, ilitangazwa kwa watu wote walioko Yerusalemu, na wale wote waliokuwa wamekuja kutoka miji ya Yuda.
10 And he read aloud Baruch in the scroll [the] words of Jeremiah [the] house of Yahweh in [the] room of Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan the scribe in the court upper [the] entrance of [the] gate of [the] house of Yahweh new in [the] ears of all the people.
Kutoka chumba cha Gemaria mwana wa Shafani mwandishi, kilichokuwa katika ua wa juu kwenye ingilio la Lango Jipya la Hekalu, Baruku akawasomea watu wote waliokuwa katika Hekalu la Bwana maneno ya Yeremia kutoka kwenye kile kitabu.
11 And he heard Micaiah [the] son of Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan all [the] words of Yahweh from on the scroll.
Basi Mikaya mwana wa Gemaria, mwana wa Shafani, aliposikia maneno yote ya Bwana kutoka kwenye kile kitabu,
12 And he went down [the] house of the king to [the] room of the scribe and there! there all the officials [were] sitting Elishama the scribe and Delaiah [the] son of Shemaiah and Elnathan [the] son of Achbor and Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan and Zedekiah [the] son of Hananiah and all the officials.
alishuka hadi kwenye chumba cha mwandishi kwenye jumba la kifalme, mahali walipokuwa wameketi maafisa wote: yaani Elishama mwandishi, Delaya mwana wa Shemaya, Elnathani mwana wa Akbori, Gemaria mwana wa Shafani, Sedekia mwana wa Hanania, na maafisa wengine wote.
13 And he told to them Micaiah all the words which he had heard when read aloud Baruch in the scroll in [the] ears of the people.
Baada ya Mikaya kuwaambia kila kitu ambacho alikuwa amesikia Baruku akiwasomea watu kutoka kwenye kile kitabu,
14 And they sent all the officials to Baruch Jehudi [the] son of Nethaniah [the] son of Shelemiah [the] son of Cushi saying the scroll which you have read aloud in it in [the] ears of the people take it in hand your and come and he took Baruch [the] son of Neriah the scroll in hand his and he went to them.
maafisa wote wakamtuma Yehudi mwana wa Nethania, mwana wa Shelemia, mwana wa Kushi, kumwambia Baruku, “Leta hicho kitabu ambacho umewasomea watu, nawe mwenyewe uje.” Ndipo Baruku mwana wa Neria akawaendea akiwa na hicho kitabu mkononi mwake.
15 And they said to him sit please and read aloud it in ears our and he read [it] aloud Baruch in ears their.
Wakamwambia, “Tafadhali, keti na utusomee hicho kitabu.” Ndipo Baruku akawasomea kile kitabu.
16 And it was when heard they all the words they were in dread each to neighbor his and they said to Baruch certainly we will tell to the king all the things these.
Walipoyasikia maneno hayo yote, wakatazamana wao kwa wao kwa woga na kumwambia Baruku, “Lazima tutoe taarifa ya maneno haya yote kwa mfalme.”
17 And Baruch they asked saying tell please to us how? did you write all the words these from mouth his.
Kisha wakamuuliza Baruku, “Tuambie, uliandikaje haya yote? Je, yalitoka kinywani mwa Yeremia?”
18 And he said to them Baruch from mouth his he proclaimed to me all the words these and I [was] writing on the scroll with ink.
Baruku akajibu, “Ndiyo, maneno haya yote yalitoka kinywani mwa Yeremia, nami nikayaandika kwa wino katika hiki kitabu.”
19 And they said the officials to Baruch go hide yourself you and Jeremiah and anyone may not he know where? [are] you.
Ndipo wale maafisa wakamwambia Baruku, “Wewe na Yeremia nendeni mkajifiche. Mtu yeyote asijue mahali mlipo.”
20 And they went to the king [the] court towards and the scroll they had deposited in [the] room of Elishama the scribe and they told in [the] ears of the king all the things.
Baada ya kuhifadhi kile kitabu ndani ya chumba cha Elishama mwandishi, wakamwendea mfalme katika ua wa nje na kumwarifu kila kitu.
21 And he sent the king Jehudi to fetch the scroll and he fetched it from [the] room of Elishama the scribe and he read aloud it Jehudi in [the] ears of the king and in [the] ears of all the officials who were standing from with the king.
Mfalme akamtuma Yehudi akachukue kile kitabu. Yehudi akakileta hicho kitabu kutoka kwenye chumba cha Elishama mwandishi, na akakisoma mbele ya mfalme na maafisa wakiwa wamesimama kando ya mfalme.
22 And the king [was] sitting [the] house of the winter in the month ninth and the fire-pot before him [was] kindled.
Ulikuwa mwezi wa tisa, na mfalme alikuwa ameketi chumba cha wakati wa baridi akiota moto.
23 And it was - when read aloud Jehudi three doors and four he tore it with [the] knife of the scribe and he threw [it] into the fire which [was] to the fire-pot until was consumed all the scroll on the fire which [was] on the fire-pot.
Hata ikawa kila wakati Yehudi alipomaliza kusoma kurasa tatu au nne za hicho kitabu, mfalme alizikata kwa kisu cha mwandishi na kuzitupia motoni, hadi kitabu chote kikateketea.
24 And not they were afraid and not they tore clothes their the king and all servants his who heard all the words these.
Mfalme na watumishi wake wote waliosikia yote yaliyosomwa hawakuonyesha hofu yoyote, wala hawakuyararua mavazi yao.
25 And also Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah they had made entreaty with the king to not to burn the scroll and not he listened to them.
Hata ingawa Elnathani, Delaya na Gemaria walimsihi mfalme asikichome kile kitabu, yeye hakuwasikiliza.
26 And he commanded the king Jerahmeel [the] son of the king and Seraiah [the] son of Azriel and Shelemiah [the] son of Abdeel to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet and he hid them Yahweh.
Badala yake, mfalme akamwamuru Yerameeli, mwana wa mfalme, Seraya mwana wa Azrieli, na Shelemia mwana wa Abdeeli kuwakamata mwandishi Baruku na nabii Yeremia. Lakini Bwana alikuwa amewaficha.
27 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah after - burned the king the scroll and the words which he had written Baruch from [the] mouth of Jeremiah saying.
Baada ya mfalme kuchoma kile kitabu kilichokuwa na yale maneno Baruku aliyokuwa ameyaandika kutoka kinywani mwa Yeremia, neno la Bwana lilimjia Yeremia likisema:
28 Return take for yourself a scroll another and write on it all the words former which they were on the scroll former which he burned Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah.
“Chukua kitabu kingine na uandike juu yake maneno yote yaliyokuwa katika kile kitabu cha kwanza, ambacho Yehoyakimu mfalme wa Yuda amekiteketeza kwa moto.
29 And to Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah (you will say *LA(bh)*) thus he says Yahweh you you burned the scroll this saying why? did you write on it saying certainly he will come [the] king of Babylon and he will destroy the land this and he will cause to cease from it human being and animal.
Mwambie pia Yehoyakimu mfalme wa Yuda, ‘Hili ndilo asemalo Bwana: Ulikiteketeza kile kitabu ukasema, “Kwa nini uliandika kwenye kitabu kwamba kwa hakika mfalme wa Babeli angekuja na kuangamiza nchi hii, na kuwakatilia mbali watu na wanyama kutoka humo?”
30 Therefore thus he says Yahweh on Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah not he will belong to him [one who] sits on [the] throne of David and corpse his it will be thrown out to the heat in the day and to the frost in the night.
Kwa hiyo, hili ndilo asemalo Bwana kuhusu Yehoyakimu mfalme wa Yuda: Hatakuwa na mtu yeyote atakayekalia kiti cha enzi cha Daudi; maiti yake itatupwa nje kwenye joto wakati wa mchana na kupigwa na baridi wakati wa usiku.
31 And I will visit on him and on offspring his and on servants his iniquity their and I will bring on them and on [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and to everyone of Judah all the calamity which I have spoken against them and not they listened.
Nitamwadhibu yeye, watoto wake na watumishi wake kwa ajili ya uovu wao. Nitaleta juu yao na wote waishio Yerusalemu na watu wa Yuda kila maafa niliyoyasema dhidi yao, kwa sababu hawajasikiliza.’”
32 And Jeremiah he took - a scroll another and he gave it to Baruch [the] son of Neriah the scribe and he wrote on it from [the] mouth of Jeremiah all [the] words of the scroll which he had burned Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah in the fire and again it was added to them words many like them.
Kisha Yeremia akachukua kitabu kingine na kumpa mwandishi Baruku mwana wa Neria, naye kama Yeremia alivyosema, Baruku akaandika juu yake maneno yote ya kile kitabu ambacho Yehoyakimu mfalme wa Yuda alikuwa amekichoma moto, na maneno mengine mengi yaliyofanana na hayo yaliyoongezewa humo.
