Jeremiah 36
1 And it was in the year fourth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah it came the word this to Jeremiah from with Yahweh saying.
Este mensaje del Señor llegó a Jeremías en el cuarto año del reinado de Joaquín hijo de Josías, rey de Judá:
2 Take for yourself a scroll of a document and you will write to it all the words which I have spoken to you on Israel and on Judah and on all the nations from [the] day [when] I spoke to you from [the] days of Josiah and until the day this.
Toma un rollo y escribe todo lo que te he dicho condenando a Israel, a Judá y a todas las demás naciones, desde que te hablé por primera vez durante el reinado de Josías hasta ahora.
3 Perhaps they will hear [the] house of Judah all the harm which I [am] planning to do to them so that they may turn back everyone from way his evil and I will forgive iniquity their and sin their.
Tal vez cuando el pueblo de Judá se entere de todos los desastres que pienso hacer caer sobre ellos, todos dejarán de hacer sus malas acciones. Entonces perdonaré su culpa y su pecado.
4 And he called Jeremiah Baruch [the] son of Neriah and he wrote Baruch from [the] mouth of Jeremiah all [the] words of Yahweh which he had spoken to him on a scroll of a document.
Entonces Jeremías llamó a Baruc hijo de Nerías para que viniera, y mientras Jeremías dictaba, Baruc escribió en un pergamino todo lo que el Señor le había dicho a Jeremías.
5 And he commanded Jeremiah Baruch saying I [am] shut up not I am able to go [the] house of Yahweh.
Luego Jeremías le dio a Baruc estas instrucciones: “Estoy prisionero aquí, así que no puedo entrar en el Templo del Señor.
6 And you will go you and you will read aloud in the scroll which you have written from mouth my [the] words of Yahweh in [the] ears of the people [the] house of Yahweh on a day of fasting and also in [the] ears of all Judah who are coming from cities their you will read aloud them.
Así que tienes que ir al Templo del Señor en un día en que la gente esté ayunando, y leerles los mensajes del Señor del rollo que te dicté. Léelos a todo el pueblo de Judá que venga de sus ciudades.
7 Perhaps it will fall supplication their before Yahweh so they may turn back everyone from way his evil for [is] great the anger and the rage which he has spoken Yahweh against the people this.
Tal vez vengan y pidan perdón al Señor, y todos ellos dejen de actuar con maldad, porque el Señor amenaza con una ira terrible contra ellos”.
8 And he did Baruch [the] son of Neriah according to all that he had commanded him Jeremiah the prophet to read aloud in the scroll [the] words of Yahweh [the] house of Yahweh.
Baruc hijo de Nerías hizo exactamente lo que el profeta Jeremías le había dicho que hiciera. Fue y leyó el mensaje del Señor del rollo en el Templo.
9 And it was in the year fifth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah in the month ninth they proclaimed a fast before Yahweh all the people in Jerusalem and all the people who were coming from [the] cities of Judah in Jerusalem.
Así sucedió. Se declaró un ayuno para honrar al Señor en el que participó todo el pueblo de Jerusalén y todos los que habían llegado allí desde las ciudades de Judá. Esto ocurrió en el noveno mes del quinto año del reinado de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá.
10 And he read aloud Baruch in the scroll [the] words of Jeremiah [the] house of Yahweh in [the] room of Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan the scribe in the court upper [the] entrance of [the] gate of [the] house of Yahweh new in [the] ears of all the people.
Baruc leyó del pergamino lo que Jeremías había dictado para que todos pudieran oírlo. Lo leyó desde la habitación del escriba Gemarías hijo de Safán. Ésta se encontraba en el patio superior del Templo, a la entrada de la Puerta Nueva.
11 And he heard Micaiah [the] son of Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan all [the] words of Yahweh from on the scroll.
Cuando Micaías hijo de Gemarías, hijo de Safán, escuchó todos los mensajes del Señor leídos en el rollo,
12 And he went down [the] house of the king to [the] room of the scribe and there! there all the officials [were] sitting Elishama the scribe and Delaiah [the] son of Shemaiah and Elnathan [the] son of Achbor and Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan and Zedekiah [the] son of Hananiah and all the officials.
bajó a la habitación del secretario real en el palacio del rey, donde se habían reunido todos los funcionarios. Estaban allí el secretario Elisama, Delaías hijo de Semaías, Elnatán hijo de Acbor, Gemarías hijo de Safán, Sedequías hijo de Jananías y todos los demás funcionarios.
13 And he told to them Micaiah all the words which he had heard when read aloud Baruch in the scroll in [the] ears of the people.
Micaías les dio un informe de todo lo que había oído leer a Baruc del rollo al pueblo.
14 And they sent all the officials to Baruch Jehudi [the] son of Nethaniah [the] son of Shelemiah [the] son of Cushi saying the scroll which you have read aloud in it in [the] ears of the people take it in hand your and come and he took Baruch [the] son of Neriah the scroll in hand his and he went to them.
Los funcionarios enviaron a Jehudí hijo de Netanías, hijo de Selemías, hijo de Cusi, a convocar a Baruc, diciéndole: “Trae el rollo que has leído al pueblo y ven aquí”. Así que Baruc fue a verlos llevando el pergamino.
15 And they said to him sit please and read aloud it in ears our and he read [it] aloud Baruch in ears their.
“Por favor, siéntate y léenoslo”, le dijeron. Así que Baruc se lo leyó.
16 And it was when heard they all the words they were in dread each to neighbor his and they said to Baruch certainly we will tell to the king all the things these.
Después de oírlo todo, se asustaron y se miraron unos a otros. Le dijeron a Baruc: “Tenemos que contarle todo esto al rey”.
17 And Baruch they asked saying tell please to us how? did you write all the words these from mouth his.
Entonces le preguntaron a Baruc: “Ahora dinos, ¿cómo llegaste a escribir todo esto? ¿Te lo dictó Jeremías?”
18 And he said to them Baruch from mouth his he proclaimed to me all the words these and I [was] writing on the scroll with ink.
“Sí, me lo dictó”, respondió Baruc. “Yo escribí con tinta en el pergamino todo lo que me dijo”.
19 And they said the officials to Baruch go hide yourself you and Jeremiah and anyone may not he know where? [are] you.
Los funcionarios le dijeron a Baruc: “Tú y Jeremías van a tener que esconderse. No le digan a nadie dónde están”.
20 And they went to the king [the] court towards and the scroll they had deposited in [the] room of Elishama the scribe and they told in [the] ears of the king all the things.
Entonces los funcionarios fueron a ver al rey al patio. Habían guardado el pergamino a buen recaudo en la habitación de Elisama, el secretario, mientras daban un informe completo al rey.
21 And he sent the king Jehudi to fetch the scroll and he fetched it from [the] room of Elishama the scribe and he read aloud it Jehudi in [the] ears of the king and in [the] ears of all the officials who were standing from with the king.
El rey envió a Jehudí a buscar el pergamino. Fue y lo sacó de la habitación de Elisama el secretario. Entonces Jehudí se lo leyó al rey y a todos los funcionarios que estaban allí de pie junto a él.
22 And the king [was] sitting [the] house of the winter in the month ninth and the fire-pot before him [was] kindled.
Era el mes noveno y el rey estaba sentado frente al fuego en sus aposentos de invierno.
23 And it was - when read aloud Jehudi three doors and four he tore it with [the] knife of the scribe and he threw [it] into the fire which [was] to the fire-pot until was consumed all the scroll on the fire which [was] on the fire-pot.
Cada vez que Jehudí terminaba de leer tres o cuatro columnas, Joaquín las cortaba con un cuchillo de escriba y las arrojaba al fuego. Finalmente, todo el pergamino se quemó por completo.
24 And not they were afraid and not they tore clothes their the king and all servants his who heard all the words these.
A pesar de escuchar todos estos mensajes, el rey y sus asistentes no se asustaron ni se rasgaron las vestiduras por el remordimiento.
25 And also Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah they had made entreaty with the king to not to burn the scroll and not he listened to them.
Incluso cuando Elnatán, Delaías y Gemarías le suplicaron al rey que no quemara el rollo, éste se negó a escucharlos.
26 And he commanded the king Jerahmeel [the] son of the king and Seraiah [the] son of Azriel and Shelemiah [the] son of Abdeel to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet and he hid them Yahweh.
De hecho, el rey ordenó a Jerajmeel, uno de los príncipes, así como a Seraías hijo de Azriel y a Selemías hijo de Abdeel, para ir a detener a Baruc y a Jeremías. Pero el Señor los escondió.
27 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah after - burned the king the scroll and the words which he had written Baruch from [the] mouth of Jeremiah saying.
Después de que el rey quemó el pergamino que Jeremías había dictado a Baruc, llegó a Jeremías un mensaje del Señor:
28 Return take for yourself a scroll another and write on it all the words former which they were on the scroll former which he burned Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah.
Consigue otro pergamino y escribe todo lo que había en el primer pergamino que quemó Joacim, rey de Judá.
29 And to Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah (you will say *LA(bh)*) thus he says Yahweh you you burned the scroll this saying why? did you write on it saying certainly he will come [the] king of Babylon and he will destroy the land this and he will cause to cease from it human being and animal.
Respecto a Joacim, rey de Judá, anuncia que esto es lo que dice el Señor: Has quemado el pergamino y has preguntado: “¿Por qué has escrito que el rey de Babilonia va a venir a destruir este país y a matar a toda su gente y a sus animales?”
30 Therefore thus he says Yahweh on Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah not he will belong to him [one who] sits on [the] throne of David and corpse his it will be thrown out to the heat in the day and to the frost in the night.
Esto es lo que dice el Señor acerca de Joacim, rey de Judá: No tendrá a nadie que lo suceda como rey, sentado en el trono de David. Su cuerpo será arrojado para que repose en el calor del día y en el frío de la noche.
31 And I will visit on him and on offspring his and on servants his iniquity their and I will bring on them and on [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and to everyone of Judah all the calamity which I have spoken against them and not they listened.
Voy a castigarlo a él y a sus descendientes y funcionarios por sus pecados. Haré caer sobre ellos y sobre el pueblo que vive en Jerusalén y en Judá, todos los desastres de los que les advertí, pero se negaron a escuchar.
32 And Jeremiah he took - a scroll another and he gave it to Baruch [the] son of Neriah the scribe and he wrote on it from [the] mouth of Jeremiah all [the] words of the scroll which he had burned Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah in the fire and again it was added to them words many like them.
Jeremías tomó otro rollo y se lo dio a Baruc. Jeremías le dictó todo lo que había en el pergamino que Joacim había quemado en el fuego y Baruc lo escribió. Se añadieron aún más mensajes de tipo similar.
