Jeremiah 36
1 And it was in the year fourth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah it came the word this to Jeremiah from with Yahweh saying.
El año cuarto de Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, recibió Jeremías esta palabra de Yahvé:
2 Take for yourself a scroll of a document and you will write to it all the words which I have spoken to you on Israel and on Judah and on all the nations from [the] day [when] I spoke to you from [the] days of Josiah and until the day this.
“Toma el rollo de un libro, y escribe en él todas las palabras que Yo te he dicho contra Israel, contra Judá y contra todos los pueblos, desde el día que comencé a hablarte, desde los días de Josías hasta el día de hoy.
3 Perhaps they will hear [the] house of Judah all the harm which I [am] planning to do to them so that they may turn back everyone from way his evil and I will forgive iniquity their and sin their.
Cuando oigan los de la casa de Judá todas las desgracias que pienso hacerles, se convertirán tal vez cada uno de su mal camino y Yo les perdonaré su culpa y su pecado.”
4 And he called Jeremiah Baruch [the] son of Neriah and he wrote Baruch from [the] mouth of Jeremiah all [the] words of Yahweh which he had spoken to him on a scroll of a document.
Llamó Jeremías a Baruc, hijo de Nerías, y dictándole Jeremías escribió Baruc en el rollo del libro todas las palabras que Yahvé le había dicho.
5 And he commanded Jeremiah Baruch saying I [am] shut up not I am able to go [the] house of Yahweh.
Después dio Jeremías a Baruc esta orden: “Yo estoy encerrado y no puedo ir a la Casa de Yahvé.
6 And you will go you and you will read aloud in the scroll which you have written from mouth my [the] words of Yahweh in [the] ears of the people [the] house of Yahweh on a day of fasting and also in [the] ears of all Judah who are coming from cities their you will read aloud them.
Ve, pues, tú y lee al pueblo, en el Templo del Señor, en un día de ayuno, las palabras de Yahvé que a mi dictado has consignado en el rollo. Léelas también a todo Judá, a los que vienen de sus ciudades,
7 Perhaps it will fall supplication their before Yahweh so they may turn back everyone from way his evil for [is] great the anger and the rage which he has spoken Yahweh against the people this.
por si tal vez sus súplicas lleguen a la presencia de Yahvé y se conviertan cada cual de su mal camino; porque grande es la ira y la indignación que Yahvé ha manifestado contra este pueblo.”
8 And he did Baruch [the] son of Neriah according to all that he had commanded him Jeremiah the prophet to read aloud in the scroll [the] words of Yahweh [the] house of Yahweh.
Hizo Baruc, hijo de Nerías, todo lo que había mandado el profeta Jeremías, y leyó en el Templo del Señor el libro de las palabras de Yahvé.
9 And it was in the year fifth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah in the month ninth they proclaimed a fast before Yahweh all the people in Jerusalem and all the people who were coming from [the] cities of Judah in Jerusalem.
Pues el año quinto de Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, en el mes noveno, fue proclamado un ayuno ante Yahvé para todo el pueblo de Jerusalén, y para todo el pueblo que de las ciudades de Judá vendría a Jerusalén.
10 And he read aloud Baruch in the scroll [the] words of Jeremiah [the] house of Yahweh in [the] room of Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan the scribe in the court upper [the] entrance of [the] gate of [the] house of Yahweh new in [the] ears of all the people.
Entonces leyó Baruc a todo el pueblo el libro de las palabras de Jeremías, en la Casa de Yahvé, en la cámara de Gamarías, hijo de Safán, secretario, en el atrio superior, a la entrada de la puerta Nueva de la Casa de Yahvé.
11 And he heard Micaiah [the] son of Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan all [the] words of Yahweh from on the scroll.
Cuando Miqueas, hijo de Gamarías, hijo de Safán, oyó todas las palabras de Yahvé que estaban en el libro,
12 And he went down [the] house of the king to [the] room of the scribe and there! there all the officials [were] sitting Elishama the scribe and Delaiah [the] son of Shemaiah and Elnathan [the] son of Achbor and Gemariah [the] son of Shaphan and Zedekiah [the] son of Hananiah and all the officials.
bajó al palacio del rey, al despacho del secretario, y he aquí que estaban sentados allí todos los príncipes: Elisamá, el secretario. Dalaías, hijo de Semeías. Elnatán, hijo de Acbor. Gamarías, hijo de Safán, y Sedecías, hijo de Hananías, y todos los dignatarios.
13 And he told to them Micaiah all the words which he had heard when read aloud Baruch in the scroll in [the] ears of the people.
Les refirió Miqueas todas las palabras que había oído al leer Baruc el libro al pueblo.
14 And they sent all the officials to Baruch Jehudi [the] son of Nethaniah [the] son of Shelemiah [the] son of Cushi saying the scroll which you have read aloud in it in [the] ears of the people take it in hand your and come and he took Baruch [the] son of Neriah the scroll in hand his and he went to them.
Entonces todos los príncipes enviaron a Jehudí, hijo de Netanías, hijo de Selemías, hijo de Cusí, a decir a Baruc: “Toma en tu mano el rollo que has leído ante el pueblo, y ven.” Tomó, pues, Baruc, hijo de Nerías, el rollo en su mano, y fue adonde ellos estaban.
15 And they said to him sit please and read aloud it in ears our and he read [it] aloud Baruch in ears their.
Le dijeron: “Siéntate, y léenos (este libro)”, y Baruc lo leyó a oídos de ellos.
16 And it was when heard they all the words they were in dread each to neighbor his and they said to Baruch certainly we will tell to the king all the things these.
Cuando oyeron todas estas palabras quedaron atónitos unos y otros, y dijeron a Baruc: “De todas estas cosas tenemos que dar parte al rey.”
17 And Baruch they asked saying tell please to us how? did you write all the words these from mouth his.
Y preguntaron a Baruc: “Explícanos cómo recogiste de su boca todas estas palabras.”
18 And he said to them Baruch from mouth his he proclaimed to me all the words these and I [was] writing on the scroll with ink.
Baruc les respondió: “Con su boca me dictaba él todas estas palabras, y yo las escribía con tinta en el libro.”
19 And they said the officials to Baruch go hide yourself you and Jeremiah and anyone may not he know where? [are] you.
Después los príncipes dijeron a Baruc: “Ve y escóndete, tú y Jeremías, y nadie sepa donde estáis.”
20 And they went to the king [the] court towards and the scroll they had deposited in [the] room of Elishama the scribe and they told in [the] ears of the king all the things.
Luego se fueron al rey (que estaba) en el atrio, dejando el rollo en el aposento de Elisamá, secretario, y comunicaron al rey todo lo ocurrido.
21 And he sent the king Jehudi to fetch the scroll and he fetched it from [the] room of Elishama the scribe and he read aloud it Jehudi in [the] ears of the king and in [the] ears of all the officials who were standing from with the king.
Entonces el rey envió a Jehudí para que trajese el rollo, y este lo sacó del aposento de Elisamá, secretario; y Jehudí lo leyó ante el rey y ante todos los príncipes que estaban parados delante del rey.
22 And the king [was] sitting [the] house of the winter in the month ninth and the fire-pot before him [was] kindled.
Hallábase el rey —era el mes noveno— en la casa de invierno; y delante de él había un brasero encendido.
23 And it was - when read aloud Jehudi three doors and four he tore it with [the] knife of the scribe and he threw [it] into the fire which [was] to the fire-pot until was consumed all the scroll on the fire which [was] on the fire-pot.
Y siempre cuando Jehudí acababa de leer tres o cuatro columnas, el (rey) las cortaba con el cortaplumas del escriba y las arrojaba al fuego del brasero, hasta que todo el rollo se consumió en el fuego del brasero.
24 And not they were afraid and not they tore clothes their the king and all servants his who heard all the words these.
Pues ni el rey, ni ninguno de sus servidores que oyeron todas aquellas palabras, tuvieron temor ni rasgaron sus vestidos.
25 And also Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah they had made entreaty with the king to not to burn the scroll and not he listened to them.
Sin embargo, Elnatán, Dalaías y Gamarías pidieron al rey; que no quemase el rollo, mas no los escuchó.
26 And he commanded the king Jerahmeel [the] son of the king and Seraiah [the] son of Azriel and Shelemiah [the] son of Abdeel to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet and he hid them Yahweh.
Y mandó el rey a Jeremiel, hijo de Hamelec, a Saraías, hijo de Ezriel, y a Selemías, hijo de Abdeel, que prendiesen a Baruc, el escriba, y al profeta Jeremías, pero Yahvé los ocultó.
27 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah after - burned the king the scroll and the words which he had written Baruch from [the] mouth of Jeremiah saying.
Después que el rey quemó el rollo, con las palabras que Baruc había escrito según le dictaba Jeremías, fue dirigida a este la palabra de Yahvé en estos términos:
28 Return take for yourself a scroll another and write on it all the words former which they were on the scroll former which he burned Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah.
“Tómate otro rollo, y escribe en él todas las palabras anteriores que había en el primer rollo, que fue quemado por Joakim, rey de Judá.
29 And to Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah (you will say *LA(bh)*) thus he says Yahweh you you burned the scroll this saying why? did you write on it saying certainly he will come [the] king of Babylon and he will destroy the land this and he will cause to cease from it human being and animal.
Y dirás a Joakim, rey de Judá: Así dice Yahvé: Por cuanto has quemado este rollo, diciendo: «¿Por qué has escrito en él que el rey de Babilonia vendrá sin falta y destruirá esta tierra, sin dejar en ella ni hombres ni bestias?»,
30 Therefore thus he says Yahweh on Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah not he will belong to him [one who] sits on [the] throne of David and corpse his it will be thrown out to the heat in the day and to the frost in the night.
por eso, así dice Yahvé respecto de Joakim, rey de Judá: No tendrá quien se siente sobre el trono de David; y su cadáver quedará expuesto al calor del día y al frío de la noche.
31 And I will visit on him and on offspring his and on servants his iniquity their and I will bring on them and on [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem and to everyone of Judah all the calamity which I have spoken against them and not they listened.
Y castigaré su iniquidad no solamente en él, sino también en su descendencia y en sus servidores; y traeré sobre ellos, sobre los habitantes de Jerusalén y sobre los hombres de Judá, todo el mal que Yo les he anunciado y que ellos no quisieron oír.”
32 And Jeremiah he took - a scroll another and he gave it to Baruch [the] son of Neriah the scribe and he wrote on it from [the] mouth of Jeremiah all [the] words of the scroll which he had burned Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah in the fire and again it was added to them words many like them.
Tomó Jeremías otro rollo, y lo dio a Baruc, escriba, hijo de Nerías, el cual escribió en él según le dictaba Jeremías, todas las palabras del libro que Joakim, rey de Judá, había quemado en el fuego, y se añadieron aún muchas como aquellas.
