Jeremiah 2
1 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Puis la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
2 Go and you will proclaim in [the] ears of Jerusalem saying thus he says Yahweh I remember to you [the] covenant loyalty of youth your [the] love of betrothal your walking you after me in the wilderness in a land not sown.
Va, et crie aux oreilles de Jérusalem, et dis: Ainsi a dit l'Éternel: Il me souvient à ton égard de l'affection de ta jeunesse, de l'amour de tes fiançailles, quand tu me suivais au désert, dans une terre qu'on n'ensemence point.
3 [was] a holy thing Israel to Yahweh [the] beginning of (produce his *Q(K)*) all [those who] devour it they will be held guilty calamity it will come to them [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Israël était une chose sainte à l'Éternel; il était les prémices de son revenu. Tous ceux qui le dévoraient étaient coupables; il leur en arrivait du mal, dit l'Éternel.
4 Hear [the] word of Yahweh O house of Jacob and all [the] clans of [the] house of Israel.
Écoutez la parole de l'Éternel, maison de Jacob, et vous, toutes les familles de la maison d'Israël!
5 Thus - he says Yahweh what? did they find ancestors your in me injustice that they became distant from with me and they walked after vanity and they became vain.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel: Quelle injustice vos pères ont-ils trouvée en moi, qu'ils se soient éloignés de moi, pour marcher après la vanité et devenir vains?
6 And not they said where? [is] Yahweh who brought up us from [the] land of Egypt who led us in the wilderness in a land of desert plain and pit in a land dry and deep darkness in a land [which] not he has passed in it anyone and not he has dwelt anyone there.
Ils n'ont pas dit: Où est l'Éternel, qui nous a fait monter du pays d'Égypte, qui nous a conduits dans le désert, dans un pays de landes et de fondrières, dans un pays de sécheresse couvert de l'ombre de la mort, dans un pays où personne ne passait et où n'habitait aucun homme?
7 And I brought you into [the] land of the orchard to eat fruit its and good thing[s] its and you came and you made unclean land my and inheritance my you made into an abomination.
Et je vous ai fait entrer dans un pays de vergers, pour que vous en mangiez les fruits et les biens. Mais, sitôt que vous y êtes entrés, vous avez souillé mon pays, et vous avez fait de mon héritage une abomination.
8 The priests not they said where? [is] Yahweh and [those who] handled the law not they knew me and the shepherds they rebelled against me and the prophets they prophesied by Baal and after [things which] not they profited they walked.
Les sacrificateurs n'ont pas dit: Où est l'Éternel? Les dépositaires de la loi ne m'ont point connu; les pasteurs se sont révoltés contre moi; les prophètes ont prophétisé par Baal, et sont allés après ce qui n'est d'aucun profit.
9 Therefore again I will contend with you [the] utterance of Yahweh and with [the] children of children your I will contend.
C'est pourquoi je conteste encore avec vous, dit l'Éternel, et je contesterai avec les enfants de vos enfants.
10 For pass over [the] coasts of Cyprus and see and Kedar send and consider carefully exceedingly and see there! it has happened like this.
Passez, en effet, aux îles de Kittim, et regardez; envoyez en Kédar; observez bien, et voyez si pareille chose s'est faite.
11 ¿ Has it exchanged a nation gods and they not [are] gods and people my it has exchanged glory its for [that which] not it profits.
Y a-t-il une nation qui ait changé ses dieux? Et pourtant ce ne sont pas des dieux. Et mon peuple a changé sa gloire contre ce qui n'est d'aucun profit!
12 Be appalled O heaven on this and shudder be desolate exceedingly [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Cieux, soyez étonnés de ceci, frémissez d'horreur et soyez stupéfaits! dit l'Éternel.
13 That two evil things it has done people my me they have forsaken a spring of - water living to dig for themselves cisterns cisterns broken which not they contain water.
Car mon peuple a fait doublement mal: ils m'ont abandonné, moi qui suis la source des eaux vives, pour se creuser des citernes, des citernes crevassées qui ne retiennent point l'eau.
14 ¿ A slave [is] Israel or? one born of [the] household [is] it why? has it become plunder.
Israël est-il un esclave, ou est-il né dans la maison? Pourquoi donc a-t-il été mis au pillage?
15 On it they have been roaring young lions they have given voice their and they have made land its into a waste cities its (they are burnt *Q(K)*) because not inhabitant.
Contre lui les lionceaux rugissent, ils ont fait entendre leur voix, ils ont mis son pays en désolation. Ses villes sont brûlées, il n'y a plus d'habitants.
16 Also [the] people of Memphis (and Tahpanhes *Q(k)*) they will graze you scalp.
Même les enfants de Noph et de Tacphanès te dévoreront le sommet de la tête.
17 ¿ Not this have you done to yourself by forsaking you Yahweh God your at [the] time of [one who] led you in the way.
Cela ne t'arrive-t-il pas parce que tu as abandonné l'Éternel ton Dieu, pendant qu'il te conduisait par le chemin?
18 And therefore what? [is] to you to [the] journey of Egypt to drink [the] water of [the] Shihor and what? [is] to you to [the] journey of Assyria to drink [the] water of [the] River.
Et maintenant qu'as-tu à faire d'aller en Égypte boire l'eau du Shichor et qu'as-tu à faire d'aller en Assyrie pour boire de l'eau du Fleuve?
19 It will punish you wickedness your and apostasies your they will rebuke you and know and see that [is] evil and bitter forsaking you Yahweh God your and not awe of me [is] with you [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts.
Ta malice te châtiera, et tes infidélités te reprendront; et tu sauras et tu verras que c'est une chose mauvaise et amère que tu aies abandonné l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et que ma crainte ne soit pas en toi, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel des armées.
20 That from long ago I broke off yoke your I tore off fetters your and you said not (I will transgress *Q(K)*) for on every hill high and under every tree luxuriant you [have been] lying down a prostitute.
Parce que dès longtemps tu as brisé ton joug, rompu tes liens, tu as dit: Je ne servirai point! Mais, sur toute colline élevée et sous tout arbre vert, tu t'inclines, tu te prostitues!
21 And I I had planted you a choice vine all of it [was] seed of reliability and how? have you changed yourself to me [the] degenerate [ones] of the vine alien.
Et moi, je t'avais plantée comme une vigne excellente, dont tout le plant était franc; comment t'es-tu changée pour moi en sarments de vigne étrangère?
22 That though you will wash with soda so you may increase for yourself soap [is] stained iniquity your before me [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh.
Quand tu te laverais avec du nitre, et que tu prendrais de la potasse en abondance, ton iniquité demeurerait marquée devant moi, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
23 How? will you say not I have made myself unclean after the Baals not I have walked consider conduct your in the valley recognize what? have you done a young camel swift entwining paths its.
Comment dis-tu: Je ne me suis point souillée, je ne suis point allée après les Baals? Regarde tes pas dans la vallée, reconnais ce que tu as fait, dromadaire légère, qui ne tient pas de route certaine;
24 A wild donkey - accustomed to a wilderness in [the] lust of (self its *Q(K)*) it sniffs [the] wind heat its who? will he turn back it all [those who] seek it not they will grow weary in month its they will find it.
Anesse sauvage, accoutumée au désert, qui, dans le désir qui l'anime, hume le vent. Qui l'arrêtera dans son ardeur? Nul de ceux qui la cherchent ne se fatigue; on la trouvera même en son mois.
25 Restrain foot your from barefoot (and throat your *Q(K)*) from thirst and you said despairing In-deed I love strange [gods] and after them I will walk.
Garde ton pied de se déchausser, ton gosier d'avoir soif! Mais tu dis: C'en est fait! Non! car j'aime les étrangers, et j'irai après eux.
26 Like [the] shame of a thief if he is found so they have been put to shame [the] house of Israel they kings their officials their and priests their and prophets their.
Comme un voleur est confus quand il est surpris, ainsi seront confus ceux de la maison d'Israël; eux, leurs rois, leurs chefs, leurs sacrificateurs, et leurs prophètes.
27 [who] say To wood [are] father my you and to stone you (you gave birth to us *Q(K)*) for they have turned to me a back and not a face and at [the] time of calamity their they will say arise! and save us.
Ils disent au bois: Tu es mon père, et à la pierre: Tu m'as donné la vie. Car ils m'ont tourné le dos et non le visage. Et ils diront, au temps de leur malheur: “Lève-toi, et nous délivre! “
28 And where? [are] gods your which you made for yourself let them arise if they will save you at [the] time of calamity your for [the] number of cities your they are gods your O Judah.
Et où sont les dieux que tu t'es faits? Qu'ils se lèvent, s'ils peuvent te sauver au temps de ton malheur. Car tes dieux, ô Juda, sont aussi nombreux que tes villes!
29 Why? do you contend against me all of you you have rebelled against me [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Pourquoi plaideriez-vous avec moi? Vous vous êtes tous rebellés contre moi, dit l'Éternel.
30 For vanity I struck sons your correction not they accepted it devoured sword your prophets your like a lion destroying.
En vain ai-je frappé vos enfants: ils n'ont point reçu d'instruction. Votre épée a dévoré vos prophètes, comme un lion destructeur.
31 O generation you consider [the] word of Yahweh ¿ a wilderness have I been to Israel or? a land of darkness why? have they said people my we have roamed not we will come again to you.
O génération, considérez la parole de l'Éternel! Ai-je été un désert pour Israël, ou une terre de ténèbres? Pourquoi mon peuple a-t-il dit: “Nous sommes nos maîtres; nous ne viendrons plus à toi? “
32 ¿ Will she forget a virgin ornament[s] her a bride sashes her and people my they have forgotten me days there not [is] number.
La vierge oublie-t-elle ses ornements, la jeune épouse ses ceintures? Mais mon peuple m'a oublié durant des jours sans nombre!
33 How! you make good way your to seek love therefore also wicked women (you have taught *Q(K)*) ways your.
Comme tu es habile dans tes voies, pour chercher ce que tu aimes! C'est pourquoi aussi tu accoutumes tes voies aux crimes.
34 Also on skirts your they were found [the] blood of [the] lives of needy [people] innocent not in breaking in you found them for on all these [things].
Même sur les pans de ta robe se trouve le sang des pauvres, des innocents, que tu n'avais point trouvés en effraction.
35 And you said that I am innocent surely it has turned back anger his from me here I [am] about to enter into judgment with with you because saying you not I have sinned.
Bien plus; après toutes ces choses, tu dis: Oui, je suis innocente! certainement sa colère s'est détournée de moi! Voici, je vais entrer en jugement avec toi, sur ce que tu dis: Je n'ai point péché.
36 Why? do you treat lightly exceedingly to change way your also from Egypt you will be ashamed just as you were ashamed from Assyria.
Pourquoi tant te précipiter pour changer ton chemin! Tu auras autant de confusion de l'Égypte que tu en as eu de l'Assyrie.
37 Also from with this [one] you will go out and hands your [will be] on head your for he has rejected Yahweh objects of confidence your and not you will prosper to them.
De là aussi tu sortiras ayant tes mains sur la tête. Car l'Éternel a rejeté les objets de ta confiance, et tu ne réussiras point auprès d'eux.
