Jeremiah 13
1 Thus he said Yahweh to me go and you will buy for yourself a loincloth of linen and you will put it on loins your and in water not you must cause to go it.
Ainsi m’a parlé Yahweh: « Va t’acheter une ceinture de lin, et pose-là sur tes reins, mais ne la mets pas dans l’eau. »
2 And I bought the loincloth according to [the] word of Yahweh and I put [it] on loins my.
Et je m’achetai la ceinture, selon la parole de Yahweh, et je la mis sur mes reins.
3 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me a second [time] saying.
La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée une seconde fois, en ces termes:
4 Take the loincloth which you bought which [is] on loins your and arise go Perath towards and hide it there in [the] cleft of the rock.
« Prends la ceinture que tu as achetée et qui est sur tes reins; lève-toi, va vers l’Euphrate, et là tu la cacheras dans une fente de rocher. »
5 And I went and I hid it at Perath just as he had commanded Yahweh me.
J’allai et je la cachai près de l’Euphrate, comme Yahweh me l’avait ordonné.
6 And it was from [the] end of days many and he said Yahweh to me arise go Perath towards and take from there the loincloth which I commanded you to hide it there.
Et, au bout d’un grand nombre de jours, Yahweh me dit: « Lève-toi, va vers l’Euphrate, et là reprends la ceinture que je t’ai commandé d’y cacher ».
7 And I went Perath towards and I dug and I took the loincloth from the place where I had hidden it there and there! it was ruined the loincloth not it was profitable for anything.
J’allai vers l’Euphrate, je creusai et je repris la ceinture au lieu où je l’avais cachée; et voilà que la ceinture était perdue, elle n’était plus bonne à rien.
8 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Et la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée, en ces termes:
9 Thus he says Yahweh thus I will ruin [the] pride of Judah and [the] pride of Jerusalem great.
Ainsi parle Yahweh: C’est ainsi que je perdrai l’orgueil de Juda, et le grand orgueil de Jérusalem.
10 The people this wicked who are refusing - to hear words my who walk in [the] stubbornness of own heart their and they have walked after gods other to serve them and to bow down to them and let it be like the loincloth this which not it is profitable for anything.
Ce peuple mauvais qui refuse d’écouter mes paroles, qui suit l’opiniâtreté de son cœur et qui va après d’autres dieux pour les servir et les adorer, il sera comme cette ceinture, qui n’est plus bonne à rien.
11 For just as it clings loincloth to [the] loins of a person so I have made cling to me all [the] house of Israel and all [the] house of Judah [the] utterance of Yahweh to become for me a people and a name and praise and honor and not they listened.
Car, comme la ceinture est attachée aux reins de l’homme, ainsi je m’étais attaché toute la maison d’Israël et toute la maison de Juda, — oracle de Yahweh, afin qu’elles fussent pour moi un peuple, un nom, un honneur et une gloire; mais ils n’ont pas écouté!
12 And you will speak to them the word this. Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel every wineskin it will be filled wine and they will say to you ¿ really not do we know that every wineskin it will be filled wine.
Et tu leur diras cette parole: « Ainsi parle Yahweh, Dieu d’Israël: Toute cruche doit être remplie de vin. » Ils te répondront: « Ne savons-nous pas que toute cruche doit être remplie de vin? »
13 And you will say to them thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to fill all [the] inhabitants of the land this and the kings who sit for David on throne his and the priests and the prophets and all [the] inhabitants of Jerusalem drunkenness.
Et tu leur diras: « Ainsi parle Yahweh: Je vais remplir tous les habitants de ce pays, et les rois qui sont assis sur le trône de David, les prêtres et les prophètes, et tous les habitants de Jérusalem, d’ivresse.
14 And I will smash them each to brother his and the parents and the children alike [the] utterance of Yahweh not I will show pity and not I will have mercy and not I will have compassion from destroying them.
Et je les briserai les uns contre les autres, les pères et les fils ensemble, — oracle de Yahweh; je n’épargnerai pas, je n’aurai pas de compassion, je n’aurai pas de pitié pour ne pas les détruire.
15 Hear and give ear may not you be haughty for Yahweh he has spoken.
Ecoutez, prêtez l’oreille, ne soyez pas orgueilleux, car Yahweh a parlé.
16 Give to Yahweh God your glory before he will bring darkness and before they will stumble feet your on mountains of twilight and you will wait for light and he will make it into deep darkness (and he will make [it] *Q(K)*) into thick darkness.
Rendez gloire à Yahweh, votre Dieu, avant que viennent les ténèbres, que vos pieds se heurtent aux montagnes de la nuit, qu’il change en ombre de mort la lumière que vous attendez, et qu’il en fasse une obscurité profonde.
17 And if not you will listen to it in secret places it will weep self my because of pride and utterly it will weep and it may run down eye my tear[s] for it has been taken captive [the] flock of Yahweh.
Si vous n’écoutez pas cela, mon âme pleurera en secret, à cause de votre orgueil; mes yeux pleureront amèrement, se fondront en larmes, car le troupeau de Jacob sera emmené captif.
18 Say to the king and to the queen-mother make low sit for it has come down [the] place of head your [the] crown of splendor your.
Dis au roi et à la reine: Asseyez-vous à terre, car elle tombe de votre tête, votre couronne de gloire.
19 [the] cities of The Negev they have been shut up and there not [is one who] opens it has been taken into exile Judah all of it it has been taken into exile completeness.
Les villes du midi sont fermées, et personne ne les ouvre; Juda tout entier est déporté; la déportation est complète.
20 (Lift up *Q(K)*) eyes your (and see *Q(K)*) those [who] are coming from [the] north where? [is] the flock [which] it was given to you [the] sheep of beauty your.
Lève les yeux et vois ceux qui viennent du septentrion: Où est le troupeau qui t’avait été donné, les brebis qui faisaient ta gloire?
21 What? will you say that he will appoint over you and you you taught them over you close friends to chief ¿ not labor-pains will they seize you like a woman giving birth.
Que diras-tu quand Yahweh te donnera pour maîtres ceux que tu as instuits contre toi — tes familiers? Les douleurs ne te saisiront-elles pas, comme une femme qui enfante?
22 And if you will say in heart your why? have they happened to me these [things] in [the] greatness of iniquity your they have been uncovered skirts your they have suffered violence heels your.
Et si tu dis dans ton cœur: « Pourquoi ces malheurs m’arrivent-ils?... » C’est à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités que les pans de ta robe ont été relevés, que tes talons ont été meurtris.
23 ¿ Will he change a Cushite skin his and a leopard spots its also you you will be able to do good O [those] trained to do evil.
Un Ethiopien changera-t-il sa peau, un léopard ses taches? Et vous, pourriez-vous faire le bien, vous qui êtes appris à mal faire?
24 And I will scatter them like chaff [which] passes away to [the] wind of [the] wilderness.
Je les disperserai comme la paille qui passe, au souffle du vent du désert.
25 This [is] lot your [the] portion of measure your from with me [the] utterance of Yahweh that you have forgotten me and you have trusted in falsehood.
Tel est ton sort, la part que je te mesure, — oracle de Yahweh, parce que tu m’as oublié, que tu as mis ta confiance dans le mensonge.
26 And also I I will strip off skirts your on face your and it will be visible shame your.
Et moi aussi je relèverai les pans de ta robe sur ton visage, et l’on verra ta honte.
27 Adulteri your and neighings your [the] wickedness of prostitution your on hills in the field I have seen detestable things your woe! to you O Jerusalem not you are clean after when? yet.
Tes adultères, tes hennissements, tes criminelles prostitutions, sur les collines en pleine campagne, toutes tes abominations, je les ai vues. Malheur à toi, Jérusalem! Tu es impure jusques à quand encore?
