Jeremiah 1
1 [the] words of Jeremiah [the] son of Hilkiah one of the priests who [were] at Anathoth in [the] land of Benjamin.
Verba Ieremiae filii Helciae, de sacerdotibus, qui fuerunt in Anathoth, in Terra Beniamin.
2 Whom it came [the] word of Yahweh to him in [the] days of Josiah [the] son of Amon [the] king of Judah in thir-teen year of reigning his.
Quod factum est verbum Domini ad eum in diebus Iosiae filii Amon regis Iuda, in tertiodecimo anno regni eius.
3 And it came in [the] days of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah until was finished one [plus] ten year of Zedekiah [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah until went into exile Jerusalem in the month fifth.
Et factum est in diebus Ioakim filii Iosiae regis Iuda, usque ad consummationem undecimi anni Sedeciae filii Iosiae regis Iuda, usque ad transmigrationem Ierusalem, in mense quinto.
4 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.
Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens:
5 Before (I formed you *Q(k)*) in the belly I knew you and before you came forth from [the] womb I set apart you a prophet to the nations I appointed you.
Priusquam te formarem in utero, novi te: et antequam exires de vulva, sanctificavi te, et prophetam in Gentibus dedi te.
6 And I said alas! O Lord Yahweh here! not I know to speak for [am] a youth I.
Et dixi, A a a, Domine Deus: ecce nescio loqui, quia puer ego sum.
7 And he said Yahweh to me may not you say [am] a youth I for to every [one] whom I will send you you will go and all that I will command you you will speak.
Et dixit Dominus ad me: Noli dicere: Puer sum: quoniam ad omnia, quae mittam te, ibis: et universa, quaecumque mandavero tibi, loqueris.
8 May not you be afraid of them for [will be] with you I to deliver you [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Ne timeas a facie eorum: quia tecum ego sum ut eruam te, dicit Dominus.
9 And he stretched out Yahweh hand his and he touched mouth my and he said Yahweh to me here! I have put words my in mouth your.
Et misit Dominus manum suam, et tetigit os meum: et dixit Dominus ad me: Ecce dedi verba mea in ore tuo:
10 See I appoint you - the day this over the nations and over kingdoms to pluck up and to pull down and to destroy and to tear down to build and to plant.
ecce constitui te hodie super Gentes, et super regna ut evellas, et destruas, et disperdas, et dissipes, et aedifices, et plantes.
11 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying what? [are] you seeing O Jeremiah and I said a branch of an almond tree I [am] seeing.
Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens: Quid tu vides Ieremia? Et dixi: Virgam vigilantem ego video.
12 And he said Yahweh to me you have done well to see for [am] watching I over word my to do it.
Et dixit Dominus ad me: Bene vidisti, quia vigilabo ego super verbo meo ut faciam illud.
13 And it came [the] word of Yahweh - to me a second [time] saying what? [are] you seeing and I said a pot blown upon I [am] seeing and face its [is] away from [the] face of north-ward.
Et factum est verbum Domini secundo ad me, dicens: Quid tu vides? Et dixi: Ollam succensam ego video, et faciem eius a facie Aquilonis.
14 And he said Yahweh to me from [the] north it will be let loose calamity on all [the] inhabitants of the land.
Et dixit Dominus ad me: Ab Aquilone pandetur omne malum super omnes habitatores terrae.
15 For - here I [am] summoning all [the] clans of [the] kingdoms of north-ward [the] utterance of Yahweh and they will come and they will set each one throne his [the] entrance of - [the] gates of Jerusalem and on all walls its all around and on all [the] cities of Judah.
quia ecce ego convocabo omnes cognationes regnorum Aquilonis, ait Dominus: et venient et ponent unusquisque solium suum in introitu portarum Ierusalem, et super omnes muros eius in circuitu, et super universas urbes Iuda.
16 And I will speak judgments my with them on all wickedness their which they have forsaken me and they have made smoke to gods other and they have bowed down to [the] products of hands their.
Et loquar iudicia mea cum eis super omnem malitiam eorum, qui dereliquerunt me, et libaverunt diis alienis, et adoraverunt opus manuum suarum.
17 And you you will gird loins your and you will arise and you will say to them all that I I will command you may not you be dismayed because of them lest I should make dismayed you before them.
Tu ergo accinge lumbos tuos, et surge, et loquere ad eos omnia quae ego praecipio tibi. Ne formides a facie eorum: nec enim timere te faciam vultum eorum.
18 And I here! I have made you this day into a city of fortification and into a pillar of iron and into walls of bronze on all the land to [the] kings of Judah to officials its to priests its and to [the] people of the land.
Ego quippe dedi te hodie in civitatem munitam, et in columnam ferream, et in murum aereum, super omnem terram, regibus Iuda, principibus eius, et sacerdotibus, et populo terrae.
19 And they will fight against you and not they will prevail to you for [will be] with you I [the] utterance of Yahweh to deliver you.
Et bellabunt adversum te, et non praevalebunt: quia ego tecum sum, ait Dominus, ut liberem te.
