Isaiah 59
1 Here! not it is [too] short [the] hand of Yahweh for saving and not it is [too] heavy ear his for hearing.
Neen, Jahweh’s hand is niet te kort om te redden, Zijn oor is niet doof om te horen;
2 For except iniquities your they have been separating between you and between God your and sins your they have hidden face from you from hearing.
Maar uw misdaden graven een klove tussen u en uw God, Uw zonden bedekken zijn aanschijn voor u, zodat Hij niet hoort.
3 For hands your they are defiled with blood and fingers your with iniquity lips your they have spoken falsehood tongue your injustice it mutters.
Want uw handen zijn bezoedeld met bloed, Uw vingers met misdaad; Uw lippen spreken leugentaal, Uw tong lispelt boosheid.
4 There not [is one who] calls in righteousness and there not [is one who] enters into judgment in truth [they are] trusting on emptiness and they speak worthlessness they conceive mischief and they bring forth wickedness.
Niemand klaagt aan volgens recht, En niemand pleit eerlijk; Men steunt op verzinsels, spreekt valsheid, Gaat zwanger van gekonkel, baart onheil.
5 Eggs of a viper they have hatched and webs of a spider they weave the [one who] eats any of eggs their he will die and the pressed [egg] it is hatched a snake.
Addereneieren broeden zij uit, En spinnewebben weven ze aaneen: Wie van hun eieren eet, gaat dood; Breekt men ze open, een slang schiet er uit.
6 Webs their not they will become clothing and not people will cover themselves with products their products their [are] products of wickedness and deed[s] of violence [is] in hands their.
Van hun webben kan men geen kleren maken, En zich met hun maaksels niet dekken; Hun daden zijn enkel onheilsdaden, En hun handen plegen geweld.
7 Feet their to evil they run and they may hasten to shed blood innocent thoughts their [are] thoughts of wickedness devastation and destruction [are] on highways their.
Hun voeten reppen zich naar het kwaad, En rennen, om onschuldig bloed te vergieten; Hun gedachten zijn onheilsgedachten, Verwoesting en vernieling bedekken hun paden.
8 A way of peace not they know and there not [is] justice on tracks their paths their they have made crooked themselves any [one who] treads on it not he knows peace.
De weg van de vrede kennen ze niet, En in hun sporen vindt men geen recht; Hun paden maken ze krom, Wie ze betreedt, vindt geen vrede.
9 There-fore it is far justice from us and not it reaches us righteousness we wait eagerly for the light and there! darkness for gleams of light in gloom we walk.
Daarom blijft het recht ook verre van ons, En kan ons het heil niet bereiken; Wij wachten op licht, en zie, het blijft donker, Op zonnegloren, en wij wandelen in duisternis rond.
10 We grope for like blind [people] a wall and like there not [are] eyes we grope we have stumbled at noon like the twilight among the fat people like dead [people].
Als blinden tasten we langs de wand, Weifelend als die geen ogen hebben; Wij struikelen op klaarlichte dag, alsof het schemering was, Zijn in de bloei van het leven als doden.
11 We growl like bears all of us and like doves certainly we moan we wait eagerly for justice and there not for deliverance it is far from us.
Wij grommen allen als beren, En klagen als kirrende duiven; Wij wachten op recht, maar het wil niet komen, Op redding, maar zij blijft verre van ons.
12 For they are many transgressions our before you and sins our it has testified against us that transgressions our [are] with us and iniquities our we know them.
Ja, onze misdaden zijn voor uw aanschijn zo talrijk, En onze zonden leggen tegen ons getuigenis af; Onze schuld staat ons altijd voor ogen, We zijn ons onze misdrijven bewust.
13 We have transgressed and we have denied Yahweh and we have turned back from after God our we have spoken oppression and rebellion we have conceived and we have uttered from [the] heart words of falsehood.
Het is altijd: Jahweh verzaken, verloochenen, Ontrouw worden aan onzen God, Verzet en overtreding preken, Zwanger van leugentaal gaan, en die uit het binnenste stoten.
14 And it has been driven back backwards justice and righteousness from a distance it stands for it has stumbled in the open place truth and honesty not it is able to enter.
Het recht wordt achteruitgedrongen, Gerechtigheid blijft op een afstand staan; De waarheid struikelt op straat, De eerlijkheid komt nergens binnen;
15 And it was truth lacking and [one who] turned aside from evil [was] plundered and he saw Yahweh and it was displeasing in view his that there not [was] justice.
De goede trouw is verbannen, En wie het kwade mijdt, stelt zich aan plundering bloot! Jahweh heeft het gezien, en is verontwaardigd, Omdat er geen recht meer bestaat.
16 And he saw that there not [was] anyone and he was appalled that there not [was one who] interposed and it gave victory to him own arm his and own righteousness his it it sustained him.
Maar toen Hij zag, dat er niemand was, Vol verbazing, dat niemand kwam helpen: Toen heeft zijn eigen arm Hem geholpen, Zijn gerechtigheid Hem gesteund.
17 And he put on righteousness like body armor and a helmet of salvation on head his and he put on garments of vengeance clothing and he wrapped himself like robe zeal.
Hij gordde de gerechtigheid om als een pantser, Zette de helm van het heil op zijn hoofd, Trok de wraak als een wapenrok aan, Sloeg de ijverzucht om als een mantel.
18 As on deeds as on he will repay rage to opponents his recompense to enemies his to the islands recompense he will repay.
Naar de werken zal Hij vergelden: Gramschap voor zijn tegenstanders, Wraak over zijn vijanden, En de kustlanden geeft Hij hun loon.
19 And they may fear from [the] setting place [the] name of Yahweh and from [the] rising of [the] sun glory his for he will come like river narrow [which] [the] wind of Yahweh it will drive it.
Dan zal men de Naam van Jahweh vrezen in het westen, En zijn glorie aan de opgang der zon: Want Hij komt als een bruisende stroom, Voortgezweept door de adem van Jahweh.
20 And he will come to Zion a redeemer and to [those who] repent of transgression in Jacob [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Maar voor Sion komt een Verlosser, Voor wie zich in Jakob van hun zonde bekeren, spreekt Jahweh,
21 And I this [is] covenant my with them he says Yahweh spirit my which [is] on you and words my which I have put in mouth your not they will depart from mouth your and from [the] mouth of offspring your and from [the] mouth of [the] offspring of offspring your he says Yahweh from now and until perpetuity.
En dit zal mijn Verbond met hen zijn, zegt Jahweh: Mijn geest, die op u rust, De woorden, die Ik in uw mond heb gelegd, Zullen uit uw mond niet wijken, noch uit die van uw kroost, Noch uit de mond van het zaad van uw kroost, Zegt Jahweh: van nu af tot in eeuwigheid!
