Isaiah 42
1 Here! servant my [whom] I support him chosen one my [whom] it is pleased with self my I have put spirit my on him justice to the nations he will bring forth.
Jacob mon serviteur, je te protègerai; Israël est mon élu, mon âme l'a agréé; j'ai répandu sur lui mon esprit, et il révèlera mon jugement aux nations.
2 Not he will cry out and not he will lift up and not he will make heard in the street voice his.
Il ne criera pas, il ne faiblira pas; sa voix au dehors ne sera pas entendue.
3 A reed crushed not he will break and a wick dim not he will extinguish it to faithfulness he will bring forth justice.
Il ne broiera pas le roseau déjà brisé; il n'éteindra pas la mèche qui fume encore; mais il révèlera le jugement selon la vérité.
4 Not he will grow dim and not he will be crushed until he will establish on the earth justice and for instruction his islands they will wait.
Il brillera et ne sera point détruit jusqu'à ce qu'il ait placé le jugement sur la terre, et les Gentils mettront leur espérance en son nom.
5 Thus he says God - Yahweh [who] created the heavens and [who] stretched out them [who] spread out the earth and produce its [who] gives breath to the people on it and spirit to [those who] walk on it.
Ainsi dit le Seigneur Dieu, qui a créé le ciel et l'a tendu, qui a affermi la terre et tout ce qu'elle contient, qui a donné le souffle au peuple qui l'habite, et la vie à ceux qui y marchent.
6 I Yahweh I have called you in righteousness and I may take hold on hand your and I may watch over you and I may make you a covenant of [the] people a light of [the] nations.
Moi, le Seigneur Dieu, je t'ai appelé avec justice, et je te prendrai par la main, et je te fortifierai, et je t'ai donné d'être l'alliance du genre humain et la lumière des nations;
7 To open eyes blind to bring out from prison prisoner[s] from a house of imprisonment [those who] dwell of darkness.
D'ouvrir les yeux aux aveugles, de tirer de la prison les captifs enchaînés et assis dans les ténèbres.
8 I [am] Yahweh that [is] name my and glory my to another not I will give and praise my to images.
Je suis le Seigneur Dieu, c'est mon nom; je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre, ni mes vertus à des idoles d'argile.
9 The former [things] there! they have come and new [things] I [am] about to tell before they will spring up I will cause to hear [them] you.
Voilà que les choses du commencement sont venues, comme viendront les choses nouvelles que je vous annonce, et qui, avant que je les annonce, vous ont été prédites.
10 Sing to Yahweh a song new praise his from [the] end of the earth O [those who] go down the sea and what fills it O islands and inhabitants their.
Chantez au Seigneur un cantique nouveau, vous qui êtes son royaume; glorifiez son nom des extrémités de la terre, ô vous qui descendez sur la mer pour y naviguer; et vous, îles, et vous qui les habitez!
11 Let them lift up [the] wilderness and cities its [the] villages [where] it dwells Kedar let them shout for joy [the] inhabitants of Sela from [the] top of [the] mountains let them cry aloud.
Désert, réjouis-toi; que tes bourgs se réjouissent et tes hameaux, et le peuple de Cédar; et ceux qui habitent parmi les rochers pousseront des cris de joie.
12 Let them give to Yahweh glory and praise his in the islands let them declare.
Ils rendront gloire à Dieu; ils feront connaître aux îles ses vertus.
13 Yahweh like warrior he will go forth like a man of war he will stir up zeal he will raise a war-cry also he will raise a battle-shout over enemies his he will prevail.
Le Seigneur Dieu des armées s'avancera; il brisera tout à la guerre; il excitera son zèle; il criera avec force contre ses ennemis.
14 I have been silent from a long time I have kept silent I have restrained myself like [woman] giving birth I groan I puff and I may pant together.
J'ai gardé le silence; mais est-ce que je me tairai et me contiendrai toujours? J'ai souffert avec patience comme une femme qui enfante; je vais tout frapper de stupeur; je vais tout flétrir.
15 I will lay waste mountains and hills and all vegetation their I will dry up and I will make rivers islands and pools I will dry up.
Je rendrai désertes les montagnes et les collines; j'y sècherai l'herbe; je changerai les fleuves en îles; je mettrai à sec les étangs.
16 And I will lead blind [people] by a way [which] not they have known by paths [which] not they have known I will guide them I will make [the] dark place before them light and rough places level ground these [are] the things [which] I will do them and not I will abandon them.
Je conduirai les aveugles par une voie qu'ils ne connaissaient point; je leur ferai fouler des sentiers inconnus; je ferai que devant eux les ténèbres soient lumière et que les voies tortueuses deviennent droites. Voilà ce que j'accomplirai en leur faveur, et je ne les abandonnerai point.
17 They will be turned back backwards they will be ashamed shame those [who] trust in idol those [who] say to a molten image you [are] god our.
Mais arrière ceux qui se sont détournés de moi! Soyez confondus, vous qui mettez votre confiance en des idoles d'argile et qui dites à des statues de fonte: Vous êtes nos dieux.
18 O deaf [people] listen and O blind [people] look to see.
Sourds, écoutez; aveugles, levez les yeux pour voir.
19 Who? [is] blind that except servant my and deaf like messenger my [whom] I will send who? [is] blind like [one] in a covenant and blind like [the] servant of Yahweh.
Et qui est aveugle, sinon mes serviteurs? Qui est sourd, sinon ceux qui les gouvernent? Oui, les serviteurs de Dieu sont devenus aveugles.
20 (You have seen *Q(K)*) many [things] and not you keep [them] they are open ears and not he listens.
Vous avez vu tant de fois, et vous n'y avez pas pris garde; vos oreilles étaient ouvertes, et vous n'avez pas entendu.
21 Yahweh he was pleased for [the] sake of righteousness his he will make great [the] law so he may make [it] glorious.
Le Seigneur a pris conseil, afin qu'on reconnût sa justice et qu'on publiât sa louange.
22 And it [is] a people despoiled and plundered they are trapped in holes all of them and in houses of imprisonment they are hidden they have become spoil and there not [is] a deliverer plunder and there not [is one who] says bring [it] back.
Et j'ai vu, et le peuple était pillé et dispersé. Le filet était tendu dans les retraites, dans les demeures, partout où ils se cachaient; et on les saisissait comme un butin, et nul n'était là pour arracher cette proie, nul n'était là pour dire: Rends-la-moi.
23 Who? among you will he give ear to this will he pay attention? and he may listen? to afterwards.
Qui de vous recueillera ces choses en ses oreilles? écoutez l'avenir.
24 Who? has he given (to plunder *Q(K)*) Jacob and Israel to despoilers ¿ not [was it] Yahweh whom we have sinned to him and not they were willing in ways his to walk and not they listened to law his.
Qui a livré comme une proie Jacob et Israël à ceux qui l'ont pris? n'est-ce point Dieu, contre qui ils ont péché, refusant de marcher dans sa voie et d'obéir à ses commandements?
25 And he poured out on it rage anger his and [the] fierceness of battle and it set ablaze it from round about and not it knew and it burned it and not it put [it] on heart.
Et il a fait éclater contre eux les transports de sa fureur; et la guerre a prévalu sur eux; et ils ont entouré de flammes; et ils ne l'ont pas compris, et ils n'y ont pas arrêté leur âme.
