< Isaiah 37 >
1 And it was when heard the king Hezekiah and he tore clothes his and he covered himself with sackcloth and he went [the] house of Yahweh.
2 And he sent Eliakim who [was] over the house and - Shebna the scribe and [the] elders of the priests covered with sackcloth to Isaiah [the] son of Amoz the prophet.
I tonoa ano e ia a Eriakimi rangatira o te whare, a Hepena kaituhituhi, me nga kaumatua o nga tohunga, he mea hipoki ki te kakahu taratara, ki a Ihaia poropiti, tama a Amoho;
3 And they said to him thus he says Hezekiah [is] a day of distress and rebuke and insult the day this for they have come children to birth and [is] strength there not for giving birth.
Hei mea ki a ia, Ko te kupu tenei a Hetekia, Ko tenei ra, he ra no te he, no te whakatuma, no te whakama; kua taea hoki te whanautanga tamariki, heoi kahore he kaha e whanau ai.
4 Perhaps he will hear Yahweh God your - [the] words of [the] chief commander whom he has sent him [the] king of Assyria - master his to taunt [the] God living and he will rebuke the words which he has heard Yahweh God your and you will lift up prayer for the remnant which is found.
Tera pea a Ihowa, tou Atua, ka rongo ki nga kupu a Rapahake i tonoa mai nei e tona ariki, e te kingi o Ahiria, hei whakorekore ki te Atua ora; a ka riri ki nga kupu i rongo ai a Ihowa, tou Atua. Na kia ara tau inoi mo nga toenga e noho nei.
5 And they came [the] servants of the king Hezekiah to Isaiah.
6 And he said to them Isaiah thus you will say! to master your thus - he says Yahweh may not you be afraid of the words which you have heard which they have blasphemed [the] servants of [the] king of Assyria me.
7 Here I [am] about to put in him a spirit and he will hear a report and he will return to own land his and I will make fall him by the sword in own land his.
Na ka tonoa e ahau he wairua ki a ia, a ka rongo ia i tetahi rongo, ka hoki ki tona whenua; ka meinga ano hoki ia e ahau kia hinga i te hoari i tona whenua.
8 And he returned [the] chief commander and he found [the] king of Assyria fighting on Libnah if he had heard that he had departed from Lachish.
Na hoki ana a Rapahake, a rokohanga atu e ia e whawhai ana te kingi o Ahiria ki Ripina: i rongo hoki ia kua hapainga mai e ia i Rakihi.
9 And he heard on Tirhakah [the] king of Cush saying he has come out to do battle with you and he heard and he sent messengers to Hezekiah saying.
10 Thus you will say! to Hezekiah [the] king of Judah saying may not he deceive you God your whom you [are] trusting in him saying not it will be given Jerusalem in [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
11 Here! - you you have heard [that] which they have done [the] kings of Assyria to all the lands by totally destroying them and you will you be delivered?
12 ¿ Did they deliver them [the] gods of the nations which they destroyed ancestors my Gozan and Haran and Rezeph and [the] people of Eden who [were] in Telassar.
I whakaora ranei nga atua o nga tauiwi i nga wahi i huna e oku matua; i Kotana, i Harana, i Retepe, i nga tama a Erene, i era i Terahara?
13 Where? [is] [the] king of Hamath and [the] king of Arpad and [the] king of Lair Sepharvaim Hena and Ivvah.
14 And he took Hezekiah the letters from [the] hand of the messengers and he read it and he went up [the] house of Yahweh and he spread out it Hezekiah before Yahweh.
15 And he prayed Hezekiah to Yahweh saying.
Na ka inoi a Hetekia ki a Ihowa, ka mea,
16 O Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel [who] sits the cherubim you he [are] God to alone you of all [the] kingdoms of the earth you you have made the heavens and the earth.
17 Incline O Yahweh - ear your and hear open O Yahweh eyes your and see and hear all [the] words of Sennacherib which he has sent to taunt [the] God living.
Tahuri mai tou taringa, e Ihowa, whakarongo mai; titiro mai ou kanohi e Ihowa, kia kite koe; kia rongo ki nga kupu katoa a Henakeripi, ki tana i tuku mai ai hei whakorekore mo te Atua ora.
18 Truly O Yahweh they have made desolate [the] kings of Assyria all the lands and land their.
He tika ano, e Ihowa, kua kore i nga kingi o Ahiria nga iwi katoa, me to ratou whenua.
19 And they have put gods their in the fire for not [were] gods they that except [the] work of [the] hands of a person wood and stone and they destroyed them.
Kua maka ano e ratou o ratou atua ki te ahi; no te mea ehara ratou i te atua; engari he mahi na te ringa tangata, he rakau, he kohatu; koia i huna ai e ratou.
20 And now O Yahweh God our save us from hand his so they may know all [the] kingdoms of the earth that you [are] Yahweh to alone you.
Tena ra, whakaorangia matou aianei, e Ihowa, e to matou Atua, i tona ringa, kia mohio ai nga kingitanga katoa o te whenua ko koe a Ihowa, ko koe anake.
21 And he sent Isaiah [the] son of Amoz to Hezekiah saying thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel that you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria.
Katahi a Ihaia tama a Amoho ka tono tangata ki a Hetekia, hei mea, Ko te kupu tenei a Ihowa, a te Atua o Iharaira, I te mea i inoi koe ki ahau mo Henakeripi kingi o Ahiria;
22 This [is] the word which he has spoken Yahweh on him she has despised you she has mocked you [the] virgin of [the] daughter of Zion behind you a head she has shaken [the] daughter of Jerusalem.
23 Whom? have you taunted and have you blasphemed? and on whom? have you raised a voice and have you lifted up? height eyes your against [the] holy [one] of Israel.
24 By [the] hand of servants your you have taunted - [the] Lord and you have said with [the] abundance of chariotry my I I have gone up [the] height[s] of mountains [the] remotest parts of Lebanon so I may cut down [the] height of cedars its [the] choicest of pines its so I may come [to the] height of end its [the] forest of orchard its.
25 I I have dug and I have drunk water so I may dry up with [the] sole of feet my all [the] canals of Egypt.
Keria ana e ahau, inu wai ana ahau, maroke ake i te kapu o toku waewae nga awa katoa o Ihipa.
26 ¿ Not have you heard from distant [time] it I appointed from days of antiquity and I planned it now I have brought it and you are [about] to make desolate heaps ruined cities fortified.
Kahore ranei koe i rongo i mua noa atu, naku tena i mea? i nga ra onamata naku tena i hanga?
27 And inhabitants their [were] short of hand they were dismayed and they were ashamed they were [the] vegetation of [the] field and [the] greenery of vegetation grass of roofs and a field before standing grain.
28 And sitting down your and going out you and coming in you I know and raging you against me.
Otira e matau ana ahau ki tou nohoanga iho, ki tou haerenga atu, ki tou haerenga mai, me tou nananga ki ahau.
29 Because raging you against me and arrogance your it has come up in ears my and I will put hook my in nose your and bridle my on lips your and I will turn back you by the way which you came by it.
30 And this for you [will be] the sign you will eat this year self-sown grain and in the year second self-seeded plant[s] and in the year third sow and reap and plant vineyards (and eat *Q(K)*) fruit their.
A ko te tohu tenei ki a koe, I tenei tau ka kai koutou i nga mea tupu noa ake, a i te rua o nga tau ko nga tupu noa ake o te tau; na hei te toru o nga tau koutou whakato ai, kokoti ai, whakato ai i nga mara waina, kai ai i nga hua o aua mara.
31 And it will add [the] escaped remnant of [the] house of Judah which remains a root downwards and it will produce fruit upwards.
32 For from Jerusalem it will go out a remnant and an escaped remnant from [the] mountain of Zion [the] zeal of Yahweh of hosts it will accomplish this.
E puta ake hoki he toenga i Hiruharama, he oranga i Maunga Hiona. E taea tenei e te ngakau nui o Ihowa o nga mano.
33 Therefore thus he says Yahweh concerning [the] king of Assyria not he will come into the city this and not he will shoot there an arrow and not he will confront it a shield and not he will pour out on it a mound.
Na ko ta Ihowa kupu tenei mo te kingi o Ahiria, E kore ia e haere mai ki tenei pa, e kore ano e perea he pere e ia ki konei, e kore ano e maua e ia he whakangungu rakau ki mua i tenei pa, e opehia ranei he puke hei whawhaitanga ki konei.
34 By the way which he came by it he will return and into the city this not he will come [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Ko te ara i haere mai ai ia, ka hoki ia ma reira; e kore ano ia e tae ki tenei pa, e ai ta Ihowa.
35 And I will defend the city this to deliver it for own sake my and for [the] sake of David servant my.
36 And he went out - [the] angel of Yahweh and he struck down in [the] camp of Assyria one hundred and eighty and five thousand and they rose early in the morning and there! all of them [were] corpses dead.
37 And he set out and he went and he returned Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria and he remained in Nineveh.
Na turia atu ana e Henakeripi kingi o Ahiria, haere ana, hoki ana, noho rawa atu kei Ninewe.
38 And it was he [was] bowing down [the] house of - Nisroch god his and Adrammelech and Sharezer sons his they struck down him with the sword and they they escaped [the] land of Ararat and he reigned Esar-haddon son his in place his.
