Isaiah 36
1 And it was in four-teen year of the king Hezekiah he went up Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria on all [the] cities of Judah fortified and he seized them.
La quatorzième année du roi Ezéchias, Sennachérib, roi d'Assyrie, monta contre toutes les villes fortes de Juda et s'en empara.
2 And he sent [the] king of Assyria - [the] chief commander from Lachish Jerusalem towards to the king Hezekiah with an army massive and he stood at [the] conduit of the pool upper on [the] highway of [the] field of [the] washer.
Et le roi d'Assyrie envoya de Lachis à Jérusalem, vers le roi Ezéchias, son grand échanson avec une troupe nombreuse; le grand échanson s'arrêta à l'aqueduc de l'étang supérieur, sur le chemin du champ du Foulon.
3 And he went out to him Eliakim [the] son of Hilkiah who [was] over the house and Shebna the scribe and Joah [the] son of Asaph the recorder.
Eliacim, fils de Helcias, chef de la maison du roi, se rendit auprès de lui, avec Sobna, le secrétaire, et Joahé, fils d'Asaph, archiviste.
4 And he said to them [the] chief commander say please to Hezekiah thus he says the king great [the] king of Assyria what? [is] the trust this which you trust.
Le grand échanson leur dit: " Dites à Ezéchias: Ainsi dit le grand roi, le roi d'Assyrie: Quelle est cette confiance sur laquelle tu t'appuies? Je disais: Paroles en l'air que ce conseil et cette force pour la guerre!
5 I say only a word of lips [are] a plan and strength for war now on whom? do you rely that you have rebelled against me.
Et maintenant, en qui te confies-tu pour te révolter contre moi?
6 Here! you rely on [the] staff of reed crushed this on Egypt which he will support himself anyone on it and it will go in palm his and it will pierce it [is] thus Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt to all those [who] rely on him.
Voici que tu te fies à l'appui de ce roseau cassé — l'Egypte — qui pénètre et perce la main de quiconque s'appuie dessus: tel est Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
7 And if you will say to me to Yahweh God our we trust ¿ not [is] he [the one] whom he has removed Hezekiah high places his and altars his and he has said to Judah and to Jerusalem before the altar this you will bow down.
Peut-être me diras-tu: C'est en Yahweh, notre Dieu, que nous avons confiance!... Mais n'est-ce pas lui dont Ezéchias a fait disparaître les hauts lieux et les autels, en disant à Juda et à Jérusalem: Vous vous prosternerez devant cet autel?
8 And now make a wager please with master my the king of Assyria so let me give to you two thousand horses if you will be able to put for yourself riders on them.
Maintenant, fais un accord avec mon maître, le roi d'Assyrie: je te donnerai deux mille chevaux, si tu peux fournir des cavaliers pour les monter!...
9 And how? will you turn back [the] face of [the] governor one of [the] servants of master my little and you have been relying yourself on Egypt for chariotry and for horsemen.
Comment repousserais-tu un seul chef d'entre les moindres serviteurs de mon maître? Aussi mets-tu ta confiance dans l'Egypte pour les chars et pour les chevaux.
10 And now ¿ without Yahweh have I come up on the land this to destroy it Yahweh he said to me go up to the land this and destroy it.
Maintenant, est-ce sans la volonté de Yahweh que je suis monté contre ce pays pour le détruire? Yahweh m'a dit: Monte contre ce pays, et détruis-le! "
11 And he said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah to [the] chief commander speak please to servants your Aramaic for [are] understanding we and may not you speak to us [in] Judean in [the] ears of the people which [is] on the city wall.
Eliacim, Sobna et Joahé dirent au grand échanson: " Parle à tes serviteurs en araméen, car nous l'entendons; et ne nous parle pas en langue judaïque, aux oreilles du peuple qui est sur la muraille. "
12 And he said [the] chief commander ¿ to master your and to you has he sent me master my to speak the words these ¿ not to the people who sit on the city wall to eat (own excrement their *Q(K)*) and to drink ([the] water of feet their *Q(K)*) with you.
Le grand échanson répondit: " Est-ce à ton maître et à toi que mon maître m'a envoyé dire ces paroles? N'est-ce pas à ces hommes assis sur la muraille, pour manger leurs excréments et boire leur urine avec vous? "
13 And he stood [the] chief commander and he called out with a voice great [in] Judean and he said hear [the] words of the king great [the] king of Assyria.
Alors le grand échanson, s'étant avancé, cria à haute voix en langue judaïque et dit: " Ecoutez les paroles du grand roi, du roi d'Assyrie:
14 Thus he says the king may not he deceive you Hezekiah for not he will be able to deliver you.
Ainsi dit le roi: Qu'Ezéchias ne vous abuse pas, car il ne pourra vous délivrer.
15 And may not he make trust you Hezekiah to Yahweh saying certainly he will deliver us Yahweh not it will be given the city this in [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
Et qu'Ezéchias ne vous persuade pas de vous confier en Yahweh, en disant: Yahweh nous délivrera sûrement; cette ville ne sera pas livrée entre les mains du roi d'Assyrie.
16 May not you listen to Hezekiah. For thus he says the king of Assyria make with me a blessing and come out to me and eat everyone own vine his and everyone own fig tree his and drink everyone [the] water of own cistern his.
N'écoutez point Ezéchias, car ainsi dit le roi d'Assyrie: Faites la paix avec moi, et rendez-vous à moi; et que chacun de vous mange de sa vigne et chacun de son figuier, et que chacun boive l'eau de son puits,
17 Until come I and I will take you to a land like own land your a land of grain and new wine a land of bread and vineyards.
jusqu'à ce que je vienne et que je vous emmène dans un pays comme le vôtre, un pays de blé et de vin, un pays de pain et de vignes.
18 Lest he should mislead you Hezekiah saying Yahweh he will deliver us ¿ have they delivered [the] gods of the nations anyone land its from [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
Qu'Ezéchias ne vous abuse point, en disant: Yahweh nous délivrera. Est-ce que les dieux des nations ont délivré chacun leur pays de la main du roi d'Assyrie?
19 Where? [were] [the] gods of Hamath and Arpad where? [were] [the] gods of Sepharvaim and if they have delivered Samaria from hand my.
Où sont les Dieux d'Emath et d'Arphad? Où sont les Dieux de Sépharvaïm? Ont-ils délivré Samarie de ma main?
20 Who? among all [the] gods of the lands these [are those] which they have delivered land their from hand my that he will deliver Yahweh Jerusalem from hand my.
Quels sont, parmi tous les dieux de ces pays, ceux qui ont délivré leur pays de ma main, pour que Yahweh puisse délivrer Jérusalem de ma main? "
21 And they kept silent and not they answered him anything for [was] [the] commandment of the king it saying not you must answer him.
Ils se turent et ne répondirent pas un mot, car le roi avait donné cet ordre: " Vous ne lui répondrez pas. "
22 And he went Eliakim [the] son of Hilkiah who [was] over the house and Shebna the scribe and Joah [the] son of Asaph the recorder to Hezekiah torn of garments and they told to him [the] words of [the] chief commander.
Et Eliacim, fils de Helcias, chef de la maison du roi, Sobna le secrétaire, et Joahé, fils d'Asaph, l'archiviste, vinrent auprès d'Ezéchias, les vêtements déchirés, et lui rapportèrent les paroles du grand échanson.
