Isaiah 36
1 And it was in four-teen year of the king Hezekiah he went up Sennacherib [the] king of Assyria on all [the] cities of Judah fortified and he seized them.
La quatorzième année du roi Ézéchias, Sennacherib, roi d'Assyrie, attaqua toutes les villes fortifiées de Juda et les captura.
2 And he sent [the] king of Assyria - [the] chief commander from Lachish Jerusalem towards to the king Hezekiah with an army massive and he stood at [the] conduit of the pool upper on [the] highway of [the] field of [the] washer.
Le roi d'Assyrie envoya Rabshakeh de Lakis à Jérusalem auprès du roi Ézéchias avec une grande armée. Il se tenait près de l'aqueduc de l'étang supérieur, sur la route du champ du foulon.
3 And he went out to him Eliakim [the] son of Hilkiah who [was] over the house and Shebna the scribe and Joah [the] son of Asaph the recorder.
Et Éliakim, fils de Hilkija, qui dirigeait la maison, et Shebna, le scribe, et Joach, fils d'Asaph, le secrétaire, sortirent vers lui.
4 And he said to them [the] chief commander say please to Hezekiah thus he says the king great [the] king of Assyria what? [is] the trust this which you trust.
Rabschaké leur dit: « Dis maintenant à Ézéchias: Le grand roi, le roi d'Assyrie, dit: Quelle est cette confiance en laquelle tu te confies?
5 I say only a word of lips [are] a plan and strength for war now on whom? do you rely that you have rebelled against me.
Je dis que vos conseils et votre force pour la guerre ne sont que de vaines paroles. Et maintenant, en qui vous confiez-vous, puisque vous vous êtes révoltés contre moi?
6 Here! you rely on [the] staff of reed crushed this on Egypt which he will support himself anyone on it and it will go in palm his and it will pierce it [is] thus Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt to all those [who] rely on him.
Voici, vous vous confiez dans le bâton de ce roseau meurtri, en Égypte, qui, si un homme s'appuie dessus, entre dans sa main et la transperce. Il en est de même de Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
7 And if you will say to me to Yahweh God our we trust ¿ not [is] he [the one] whom he has removed Hezekiah high places his and altars his and he has said to Judah and to Jerusalem before the altar this you will bow down.
Mais si vous me dites: « Nous nous confions en Yahvé notre Dieu », n'est-ce pas lui dont Ezéchias a enlevé les hauts lieux et les autels, et qui a dit à Juda et à Jérusalem: « Vous vous prosternerez devant cet autel »?
8 And now make a wager please with master my the king of Assyria so let me give to you two thousand horses if you will be able to put for yourself riders on them.
Maintenant donc, je te prie de faire un gage à mon maître, le roi d'Assyrie, et je te donnerai deux mille chevaux, si tu es capable de ton côté d'y mettre des cavaliers.
9 And how? will you turn back [the] face of [the] governor one of [the] servants of master my little and you have been relying yourself on Egypt for chariotry and for horsemen.
Comment donc peux-tu détourner le visage d'un seul des moindres serviteurs de mon maître, et te confier à l'Égypte pour les chars et pour les cavaliers?
10 And now ¿ without Yahweh have I come up on the land this to destroy it Yahweh he said to me go up to the land this and destroy it.
Suis-je monté maintenant sans Yahvé contre ce pays pour le détruire? C'est Yahvé qui m'a dit: « Monte contre ce pays, et détruis-le. »"
11 And he said Eliakim and Shebna and Joah to [the] chief commander speak please to servants your Aramaic for [are] understanding we and may not you speak to us [in] Judean in [the] ears of the people which [is] on the city wall.
Alors Eliakim, Shebna et Joach dirent à Rabshakeh: « Parle à tes serviteurs en araméen, car nous le comprenons. Ne nous parle pas en langue juive à l'oreille des gens qui sont sur la muraille. »
12 And he said [the] chief commander ¿ to master your and to you has he sent me master my to speak the words these ¿ not to the people who sit on the city wall to eat (own excrement their *Q(K)*) and to drink ([the] water of feet their *Q(K)*) with you.
Mais Rabschaké dit: « Mon maître m'a-t-il envoyé seulement vers ton maître et vers toi, pour dire ces paroles, et non pas vers les hommes assis sur la muraille, qui mangeront leur propre fumier et boiront leur propre urine avec toi? ».
13 And he stood [the] chief commander and he called out with a voice great [in] Judean and he said hear [the] words of the king great [the] king of Assyria.
Alors Rabschaké se leva et cria d'une voix forte dans la langue des Juifs, et dit: « Écoutez les paroles du grand roi, le roi d'Assyrie!
14 Thus he says the king may not he deceive you Hezekiah for not he will be able to deliver you.
Le roi dit: « Ne vous laissez pas tromper par Ézéchias, car il ne pourra pas vous délivrer.
15 And may not he make trust you Hezekiah to Yahweh saying certainly he will deliver us Yahweh not it will be given the city this in [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
Qu'Ézéchias ne vous incite pas à avoir confiance en Yahvé, en disant: « Yahvé nous délivrera. Cette ville ne sera pas livrée entre les mains du roi d'Assyrie ».
16 May not you listen to Hezekiah. For thus he says the king of Assyria make with me a blessing and come out to me and eat everyone own vine his and everyone own fig tree his and drink everyone [the] water of own cistern his.
N'écoutez pas Ézéchias, car le roi d'Assyrie dit: « Faites la paix avec moi et sortez vers moi; et chacun de vous mangera de sa vigne, chacun de son figuier, et chacun de vous boira l'eau de sa citerne;
17 Until come I and I will take you to a land like own land your a land of grain and new wine a land of bread and vineyards.
jusqu'à ce que je vienne et que je vous emmène dans un pays semblable à votre pays, un pays de blé et de vin nouveau, un pays de pain et de vignes.
18 Lest he should mislead you Hezekiah saying Yahweh he will deliver us ¿ have they delivered [the] gods of the nations anyone land its from [the] hand of [the] king of Assyria.
Prenez garde qu'Ézéchias ne vous persuade, en disant: « Yahvé nous délivrera. » Un seul des dieux des nations a-t-il délivré leurs terres de la main du roi d'Assyrie?
19 Where? [were] [the] gods of Hamath and Arpad where? [were] [the] gods of Sepharvaim and if they have delivered Samaria from hand my.
Où sont les dieux de Hamath et d'Arpad? Où sont les dieux de Sépharvaïm? Ont-ils délivré Samarie de ma main?
20 Who? among all [the] gods of the lands these [are those] which they have delivered land their from hand my that he will deliver Yahweh Jerusalem from hand my.
Qui sont-ils, parmi tous les dieux de ces pays, ceux qui ont délivré leur pays de ma main, pour que Yahvé délivre Jérusalem de ma main? »
21 And they kept silent and not they answered him anything for [was] [the] commandment of the king it saying not you must answer him.
Mais ils gardèrent le silence et ne répondirent rien, car l'ordre du roi était: « Ne lui répondez pas. »
22 And he went Eliakim [the] son of Hilkiah who [was] over the house and Shebna the scribe and Joah [the] son of Asaph the recorder to Hezekiah torn of garments and they told to him [the] words of [the] chief commander.
Alors Éliakim, fils de Hilkija, chef de la maison, et Shebna, le scribe, et Joach, fils d'Asaph, le secrétaire, vinrent auprès d'Ézéchias, les vêtements déchirés, et lui rapportèrent les paroles de Rabschaké.
