Isaiah 25
1 O Yahweh [are] God my you I will exalt you I will give thanks to name your for you have done wonder[s] plans from distant [time] faithfulness faithfulness.
Jahweh, Gij zijt mijn God: Ik verhef en prijs uw Naam; Want Gij hebt wonderen gewrocht, Oude raadsbesluiten waarachtig vervuld!
2 For you have made from a city into heap a town fortified into a ruin a fortress of strangers from a city for ever not it will be rebuilt.
Ja, Gij hebt van de steden een puinhoop gemaakt, Van de versterkte vesting een bouwval; De burcht der bozen verwoest, Nooit wordt hij herbouwd.
3 There-fore they will honor you a people strong a town of nations ruthless they will fear you.
Daarom zullen machtige volken U eren, De steden van geweldige naties U vrezen!
4 For you have been a refuge for the poor [person] a refuge for the needy [person] when it was distress to him a shelter from rainstorm a shade from heat for [the] breath of ruthless [people] [is] like a rainstorm of a wall.
Want Gij waart voor den zwakke een toevlucht, Voor den arme in zijn benauwing een hulp; Een schuilplaats tegen de storm, Een schaduw tegen de hitte. Ja, het geraas van tyrannen Is als een storm in de winter,
5 Like heat in a dry land [the] uproar of strangers you will subdue heat in [the] shade of a cloud [the] song of ruthless [people] he will quieten.
En als de hitte in een dorstige streek Is het tieren der bozen: Maar Gij tempert de hitte door de schaduw der wolken, En verstomt het brullen der bozen.
6 And he will make Yahweh of hosts for all the peoples on the mountain this a feast of fat things a feast of old wine fat things full of marrow old wine refined.
Dan zal Jahweh der heirscharen Op deze berg voor alle volken Een maaltijd bereiden van vette gerechten en dranken: Mergrijke spijzen, parelende wijnen!
7 And he will swallow up on the mountain this [the] surface of the covering - which covers over all the peoples and the woven stuff which is woven over all the nations.
Op deze berg scheurt Hij de sluier, die alle volken bedekt, Het floers, dat alle naties omhult,
8 He will swallow up death to perpetuity and he will wipe away [the] Lord Yahweh tear[s] from on every face and [the] reproach of people his he will remove from on all the earth for Yahweh he has spoken.
En doet de dood voor eeuwig te niet. Jahweh der heirscharen wist de tranen van alle gezichten, Neemt over de hele aarde de schande weg van zijn volk! Waarachtig, Jahweh heeft het gezegd!
9 And someone will say in the day that here! [is] God our this we have waited for him and he will save us this [is] Yahweh we have waited for him let us be glad and let us rejoice in salvation his.
Op die dag zal men zeggen: Dit is onze God, Op wien wij hoopten, dat Hij ons zou verlossen; Dit is Jahweh, op wien wij vertrouwden: Laat ons juichen en jubelen in zijn hulp!
10 For it will rest [the] hand of Yahweh on the mountain this and it will be trampled down Moab in place its as is trampled down a heap of straw (in *Q(K)*) a dung hill.
Want de hand van Jahweh zal op deze berg blijven rusten: De vijand zal worden vertrapt als stro op de mestvaalt;
11 And it will spread out hands its in midst its just as he spreads [them] out swimmer to swim and he will bring low haughtiness its with [the] tricks of hands its.
En slaat hij zijn handen daarin uit, als een zwemmer, Hij drukt hem neer als hij opkomt, en zijn handen opsteekt.
12 And [the] fortification of [the] refuge of walls your he will lay low he will bring [it] low he will make [it] touch the ground to [the] dust.
Zijn steden en hoge wallen gooit Hij omver, Hij stort ze neer, en smijt ze in het stof op de grond!
