Isaiah 24
1 Here! Yahweh [is] about to lay waste the earth and [is] about to devastate it and he will twist surface its and he will scatter inhabitants its.
Voici, l’Eternel fait le vide et la solitude sur la terre, il en bouleverse la face et en disperse les habitants.
2 And it will be as the people as the priest as the servant as master his as the maidservant as mistress her as the buyer as the seller as the lender as the borrower as the creditor as [the one] who a creditor [is] in him.
Un même sort atteint peuple et prêtre, esclave et maître, servante et maîtresse, acheteur et vendeur, prêteur et emprunteur, créancier et débiteur.
3 Certainly - it will be laid waste the earth and certainly - it will be plundered for Yahweh he has spoken the word this.
Elle est vidée à fond, la terre, complètement dépouillée: c’est l’Eternel qui a rendu cet arrêt.
4 It has dried up it has withered the earth it has languished it has withered [the] world they have languished [the] noble[s] of [the] people of the earth.
La terre est attristée et flétrie, le monde est désolé et languissant, l’élite de la population est abattue.
5 And the earth it has been polluted under inhabitants its for they have transgressed laws they have overstepped [the] decree they have broken [the] covenant of perpetuity.
C’Est que la terre a été souillée par ses habitants: ils ont transgressé les lois, violé les statuts, rompu le pacte antique.
6 There-fore a curse it has consumed [the] earth and they have been held guilty [the] inhabitants in it there-fore they have diminished [the] inhabitants of [the] earth and it will be left humankind of smallness.
Aussi une malédiction dévore la terre, et ceux qui la peuplent, subissent le châtiment; les habitants de la terre sont consumés, et de rares mortels échappent.
7 It has dried up new wine it has languished [the] vine they have groaned all [the people] joyful of heart.
Le vin est en deuil, la vigne est contristée, tous ceux qui avaient le cœur joyeux soupirent.
8 It has ceased [the] gaiety of tambourines it has stopped [the] uproar of jubilant [people] it has ceased [the] gaiety of [the] harp.
Adieu les gais tambourins, adieu la joie bruyante de ceux qui s’amusaient, adieu le plaisir de la harpe!
9 With song not people will drink wine it will be bitter strong drink to [those who] drink it.
On ne boit plus de vin en chantant, les liqueurs fortes ont un goût amer pour les buveurs.
10 It has been broken [the] town of formlessness it has been shut up every house from entering.
Elle est brisée la cité promise au désordre, toute demeure est close, rendue inaccessible.
11 An outcry on wine [will be] in the streets it has become evening all gladness it has departed [the] gaiety of the earth.
Les cris, au sujet du vin, retentissent dans les rues, tout plaisir est voilé de tristesse, la gaieté est bannie de la terre.
12 It has remained in the city desolation and ruin it will be crushed [the] gate.
Dans la ville, il ne reste que désolation, les portes sont fracassées et réduites en ruine.
13 For thus it will be in [the] midst of the earth in among the peoples like [the] beating of an olive tree like gleanings if it has come to an end [the] grape harvest.
Aussi il en sera de la terre, au sein des nations, comme des oliviers, après la récolte, comme des grappes oubliées, après vendanges faites.
14 They they will lift up voice their they will shout for joy in [the] majesty of Yahweh they will cry aloud from [the] west.
Ceux-là élèveront la voix pour chanter, et, du côté de l’Ouest, éclateront en cris de joie devant la grandeur de l’Eternel.
15 There-fore in the east glorify Yahweh in [the] islands of the sea [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
Oui, rendez hommage à l’Eternel dans les régions lumineuses, et, sur les côtes de la mer, proclamez le nom de l’Eternel, Dieu d’Israël.
16 From [the] extremity of the earth songs we have heard splendor [belongs] to the righteous [one] and I said leanness [belongs] to me leanness [belongs] to me woe! to me [those who] act treacherously they act treacherously and treachery [those who] act treacherously they act treacherously.
Du bout de la terre nous entendons des cantiques: "Gloire au juste!" Mais moi je dis: "La misère est mon lot, la misère est mon lot! Malheur à moi! Les violents exercent leurs violences, ils poussent au comble leurs violences.
17 Dread and pit and snare [are] on you O inhabitant of the earth.
Epouvante, fosse et piège vous menacent, habitants de la terre.
18 And it will be the [one who] flees from [the] sound of the dread he will fall into the pit and the [one who] goes up from [the] midst of the pit he will be caught in snare for windows from a high place they have been opened and they have shaken [the] foundations of [the] earth.
Quiconque prend la fuite devant les cris, de l’épouvante tombe dans la fosse, et, s’il remonte du fond de la fosse, il est pris dans le filet: les écluses s’ouvrent dans les hauteurs célestes et les fondements de la—terre sont ébranlés.
19 Utterly it has been broken the earth utterly it has been split through [the] earth certainly it has been shaken [the] earth.
La terre éclate en se brisant, la terre tombe en pièces, la terre vacille étrangement.
20 Wildly it will stagger [the] earth like drunkard and it will sway like hut and it will be heavy on it transgression its and it will fall and not it will repeat to rise.
La terre chancelle comme un homme ivre, elle est secouée comme une hutte; elle est écrasée sous le poids de son iniquité, elle tombe et ne peut plus se relever.
21 And it will be in the day that he will visit [judgment] Yahweh on [the] host of the height in the height[s] and on [the] kings of the earth on the earth.
En ce jour, l’Eternel châtiera les milices du ciel au ciel et les rois de la terre sur la terre.
22 And they will be gathered a gathering prisoner[s] to a pit and they will be shut up at a prison and from an abundance of days they will be visited.
Ceux-ci seront réunis en tas comme des prisonniers au bord d’une fosse, ils seront enfermés dans la geôle; seulement, après de longs jours, on pensera à eux.
23 And it will be abashed the moon and it will be ashamed the sun for he will reign Yahweh of hosts on [the] mountain of Zion and in Jerusalem and before elders his glory.
Et la lune sera couverte de honte, le soleil de confusion, car l’Eternel-Cebaot régnera alors sur la montagne de Sion et à Jérusalem, et sa gloire brillera aux yeux de ses anciens.
