< Hosea 4 >

1 Hear [the] word of Yahweh O people of Israel for a case at law [belongs] to Yahweh with [the] inhabitants of the land for there not [is] faithfulness and there not [is] covenant loyalty and there not [is] knowledge of God in the land.
Whakarongo ki te kupu a Ihowa, e nga tama a Iharaira; he tautohe hoki ta Ihowa ki nga tangata o te whenua, no te mea kahore he pono, kahore he tohu tangata, kahore he matauranga ki te Atua i te whenua.
2 Cursing and deceiving and murdering and stealing and committing adultery people have broken out and blood blood they have touched.
3 There-fore - it will dry up the land and he will wither every [one who] dwells in it among [the] animal[s] of the field and among [the] bird[s] of the heavens and also [the] fish of the sea they will be removed.
4 Nevertheless anyone may not he bring a case and may not he reprove anyone and people your [is] like [those who] contend a priest.
5 And you will stumble the day and he will stumble also a prophet with you night and I will destroy mother your.
6 They have been destroyed people my because not knowledge for you knowledge you have rejected and I will reject you from serving as a priest me and you have forgotten [the] law of God your I will forget children your also I.
7 As increased they so they sinned to me glory their for shame I will exchange.
I te mea ka nui ratou, katahi ratou ka hara ki ahau: whakaputaina ketia ana e ahau to ratou kororia hei whakama.
8 [the] sin of People my they eat and to iniquity their they lift up desire its.
9 And it will be as the people as the priest and I will visit on him ways his and deeds his I will repay to him.
Ko te tukunga iho, rite iwi, rite tohunga: a ka whiua ratou e ahau mo o ratou ara, ka utua a ratou mahi.
10 And they will eat and not they will be satisfied they will prostitute themselves and not they will increase for Yahweh they have forsaken to keep.
Ka kai hoki ratou, a e kore e makona: ka moepuku a e kore e tokomaha; mo ta ratou whakarere i nga mahara ki a Ihowa.
11 Prostitution and wine and new wine it takes away [the] heart.
Riro pu te hinengaro i te moepuku, i te waina, i te waina hou.
12 People my by wood his he enquires and stick his it tells to him for a spirit of prostitution it has misled and they have prostituted themselves from under God their.
13 On [the] tops of the mountains they sacrifice and on the hills they make smoke under oak and poplar and terebinth for [is] good shade its there-fore they prostitute themselves daughters your and brides your they commit adultery.
E patu ana ratou i nga patunga tapu i runga i nga tihi o nga maunga, e tahu whakakakara ana i runga i nga pukepuke, i raro i nga oki, i nga papara, i nga terepini, he pai hoki no te taumarumarunga iho: mo reira ka moepuku a koutou tamahine, ka p uremu a koutou wahine.
14 Not I will visit [judgment] on daughters your if they prostitute themselves and on brides your if they commit adultery for they [masc] with the prostitutes they go apart and with the cult prostitutes they sacrifice and a people [which] not it understands it will be ruined.
E kore ahau e whiu i a koutou tamahine ina moepuku, i a koutou wahine ina puremu; ko nga tane nei hoki he mea wehe atu ki nga wahine moepuku, ko ratou tahi ko nga wahine kairau kei te mea patunga tapu: mo reira ka hinga te iwi kahore nei o ratou matauranga.
15 Though [are] prostituting yourself you O Israel may not it become guilty Judah and may not you go Gilgal and may not you go up Beth Aven and may not you swear [by] [the] life of Yahweh.
Ahakoa koe, e Iharaira, kairau noa, kaua a Hura e he; a kaua hoki koutou e haere mai ki Kirikara, kaua hoki e haere ki runga ki Peteawene, a kaua e oati, Kei te ora a Ihowa.
16 For like a heifer stubborn it is stubborn Israel now he will pasture them Yahweh like a lamb in roomy place.
Kua whakangutungutu hoki a Iharaira, tona rite kei te kuao kau e whakatotoi ana: akuanei ratou whangaia ai e Ihowa, peratia ai me te reme i te wahi whanui.
17 [is] joined of Idols Ephraim leave alone him.
Kua honoa a Eparaima ki nga whakapakoko: tukua atu ki tana.
18 It has come to an end drink their certainly they have prostituted themselves they have loved love shame shields its.
Ko te mea e inumia ana e ratou kua kawa; he moepuku tonu ta ratou; a he whakama ta o ratou rangatira e matenui ana.
19 It has wrapped a wind it in wings its so they may be ashamed from sacrifices their.
