< Haggai 1 >
1 In year two of Darius the king in the month sixth on day one of the month it came [the] word of Yahweh by [the] hand of Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel [the] son of Shealtiel [the] governor of Judah and to Joshua [the] son of Jehozadak the priest great saying.
2 Thus he says Yahweh of hosts saying the people this they have said not a time to come [the] time of [the] house of Yahweh to be rebuilt.
Ko te kupu tenei a Ihowa o nga mano, e mea ana ia, Ki ta tenei iwi, Kahore ano kia taea noatia te wa, te wa e hanga ai to Ihowa whare.
3 And it came [the] word of Yahweh by [the] hand of Haggai the prophet saying.
4 ¿ [does] a time [belong] to You you to dwell in houses your covered and the house this [is] desolate.
Ko ta koutou wa ianei tenei, e mea ma, e noho ai i o koutou whare kua oti nei to roto hipoki, i te mea he ururua tenei whare?
5 And therefore thus he says Yahweh of hosts set heart your on ways your.
6 You have sown much and you have brought little you have eaten and not to satiety you have drunk and not to become drunk you have dressed and not to be warm to him and the [one who] earns wages [is] earning wages to a bag pierced.
He nui ta koutou i whakato ai, he iti ta koutou i mau mai ai; e kai ana, heoi kahore e makona; e inu ana, te ngata i te wai; e kakahu ana i o koutou, te mahana tetahi; e riro ana i te kaimahi te moni mo tana mahi, a whaowhina ana e ia ki roto ki te putea koputaputa.
7 Thus he says Yahweh of hosts set heart your on ways your.
Ko te kupu tenei a Ihowa o nga mano, Whakaaroa o koutou ara.
8 Go up the hill country and you will bring wood and rebuild the house so I may take pleasure in it (so let me be honored *Q(K)*) he says Yahweh.
Pikitia te maunga, maua mai he rakau, hanga hoki te whare; a ka manako ahau ki reira, ka whai kororia ano ahau, e ai ta Ihowa.
9 You turned to look to much and there! little and you brought [it] the house and I blew on it because of what? [the] utterance of Yahweh of hosts because of house my which it [is] desolate and you [are] running each to own house his.
10 There-fore on you they have withheld ([the] heavens *L(abh)*) from dew and the land it has withheld produce its.
11 And I have summoned a drought on the land and on the mountains and on the grain and on the new wine and on the fresh oil and on [that] which it will bring forth the ground and on humankind and on the livestock and on all [the] toil of hands.
12 And he listened Zerubbabel - [the] son of Shealtiel and Joshua [the] son of Jehozadak the priest great and all - [the] remnant of the people to [the] voice of Yahweh God their and to [the] words of Haggai the prophet just as he had sent him Yahweh God their and they were afraid the people of Yahweh.
13 And he said Haggai [the] messenger of Yahweh by [the] message of Yahweh to the people saying I [am] with you [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Katahi a Hakai, te karere a Ihowa, i a ia nei nga kupu a Ihowa, ka korero ki te iwi, ka mea, Ko ahau hei hoa mo koutou, e ai ta Ihowa.
14 And he stirred up Yahweh [the] spirit of Zerubbabel [the] son of Shealtiel [the] governor of Judah and [the] spirit of Joshua [the] son of Jehozadak the priest great and [the] spirit of all [the] remnant of the people and they came and they did work in [the] house of Yahweh of hosts God their.
