< Genesis 50 >

1 And he fell Joseph on [the] face of father his and he wept over him and he kissed him.
And Joseph falls on his father’s face, and weeps over him, and kisses him;
2 And he commanded Joseph servants his the physicians to embalm father his and they embalmed the physicians Israel.
and Joseph commands his servants, the physicians, to embalm his father, and the physicians embalm Israel;
3 And they were completed for him forty day[s] for thus they were completed [the] days of the embalming and they wept for him Egypt seventy day[s].
and they fulfill for him forty days, for so they fulfill the days of the embalmed, and the Egyptians weep for him seventy days.
4 And they passed [the] days of weeping his and he spoke Joseph to [the] household of Pharaoh saying if please I have found favor in view your speak please in [the] ears of Pharaoh saying.
And the days of his weeping pass away, and Joseph speaks to the house of Pharaoh, saying, “Now if I have found grace in your eyes, please speak in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
5 Father my he made swear an oath me saying here! I [am] about to die in grave my which I dug for myself in [the] land of Canaan there you will bury me and therefore let me go up please so I may bury father my and I will return.
My father caused me to swear, saying, Behold, I am dying; in my burying-place which I have prepared for myself in the land of Canaan, there you bury me; and now, please let me go up and bury my father, then I return”;
6 And he said Pharaoh go up and bury father your just as he made swear you.
and Pharaoh says, “Go up and bury your father, as he caused you to swear.”
7 And he went up Joseph to bury father his and they went up with him all [the] servants of Pharaoh [the] elders of household his and all [the] elders of [the] land of Egypt.
And Joseph goes up to bury his father, and all [the] servants of Pharaoh go up with him, [the] elderly of his house, and all [the] elderly of the land of Egypt,
8 And all [the] household of Joseph and brothers his and [the] household of father his only little one[s] their and sheep their and cattle their they left in [the] land of Goshen.
and all the house of Joseph, and his brothers, and the house of his father; only their infants, and their flock, and their herd, have they left in the land of Goshen;
9 And it went up with him both chariotry as well as horsemen and it was the company numerous very.
and there go up with him both chariot and horsemen, and the camp is very great.
10 And they came to [the] threshing floor of Atad which [is] on [the] other side of the Jordan and they lamented there a lament great and heavy very and he made for father his mourning seven days.
And they come to the threshing-floor of Atad, which [is] beyond the Jordan, and they lament there, a lamentation great and very grievous; and he makes for his father a mourning seven days,
11 And he saw [the] inhabitant[s] of the land the Canaanite[s] the mourning at [the] threshing floor of Atad and they said [is] mourning heavy this for Egypt there-fore someone called name its Abel Mizraim which [is] on [the] other side of the Jordan.
and the inhabitant of the land, the Canaanite, sees the mourning in the threshing-floor of Atad and says, “A grievous mourning [is] this to the Egyptians”; therefore [one] has called its name “The mourning of the Egyptians,” which [is] beyond the Jordan.
12 And they did sons his for him thus just as he had commanded them.
And his sons do to him so as he commanded them,
13 And they carried him sons his [the] land of towards Canaan and they buried him in [the] cave of [the] field of Machpelah which he had bought Abraham the field to a possession of a burial site from with Ephron the Hittite on [the] face of Mamre.
and his sons carry him away to the land of Canaan, and bury him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a burying-place, from Ephron the Hittite, on the front of Mamre.
14 And he went back Joseph Egypt towards he and brothers his and all those [who] had gone up with him to bury father his after had buried he father his.
And Joseph turns back to Egypt, he and his brothers, and all who are going up with him to bury his father, after his burying his father.
15 And they saw [the] brothers of Joseph that he had died father their and they said if he will bear a grudge us Joseph and certainly he will repay to us all the harm which we dealt out to him.
And the brothers of Joseph see that their father is dead, and say, “Perhaps Joseph hates us, and certainly returns to us all the evil which we did with him.”
16 And they commanded to Joseph saying father your he commanded before death his saying.
And they give a charge for Joseph, saying, “Your father commanded before his death, saying,
17 Thus you will say to Joseph we beg you forgive please [the] transgression of brothers your and sin their for evil they dealt out to you and now forgive please to [the] transgression of [the] servants of [the] God of father your and he wept Joseph when spoke they to him.
Thus you say to Joseph: Ah, now, please bear with the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they have done you evil; and now, please bear with the transgression of the servants of the God of your father”; and Joseph weeps in their speaking to him.
18 And they went also brothers his and they fell before him and they said here we [belong] to you to slaves.
And his brothers also go and fall before him, and say, “Behold, we [are] to you for servants.”
19 And he said to them Joseph may not you fear that ¿ in place of God [am] I.
And Joseph says to them, “Do not fear, for [am] I in the place of God?
20 And you you planned on me harm God he planned it for good so as to act as the day this to preserve alive a people numerous.
As for you, you devised evil against me, [but] God devised it for good, in order to do as [at] this day, to keep alive a numerous people;
21 And therefore may not you fear I I will provide for you and little one[s] your and he comforted them and he spoke to heart their.
and now, do not fear: I nourish you and your infants”; and he comforts them, and speaks to their heart.
22 And he remained Joseph in Egypt he and [the] household of father his and he lived Joseph one hundred and ten years.
And Joseph dwells in Egypt, he and the house of his father, and Joseph lives one hundred and ten years,
23 And he saw Joseph of Ephraim sons of a third generation also [the] sons of Makir [the] son of Manasseh they were born on [the] knees of Joseph.
and Joseph looks on Ephraim’s sons of a third [generation]; sons also of Machir, son of Manasseh, have been born on the knees of Joseph.
24 And he said Joseph to brothers his I [am] about to die and God certainly he will visit you and he will bring up you from the land this to the land which he swore to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob.
And Joseph says to his brothers, “I am dying, and God certainly inspects you, and has caused you to go up from this land, to the land which He has sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
25 And he made to swear an oath Joseph [the] sons of Israel saying certainly he will visit God you and you will bring up bones my from here.
And Joseph causes the sons of Israel to swear, saying, “God certainly inspects you, and you have brought up my bones from this [place].”
26 And he died Joseph a son of one hundred and ten years and people embalmed him and he was put in the coffin in Egypt.
And Joseph dies, a son of one hundred and ten years, and they embalm him, and he is put into a coffin in Egypt.
