Genesis 48
1 And it was after the things these and someone said to Joseph there! father your [is] sick and he took [the] two sons his with him Manasseh and Ephraim.
Nach diesen Begebenheiten meldete man dem Joseph: »Wisse, dein Vater ist erkrankt«; da nahm er seine beiden Söhne Manasse und Ephraim mit sich.
2 And someone told to Jacob and he said here! son your Joseph he has come to you and he strengthened himself Israel and he sat on the bed.
Als man nun dem Jakob mitteilte: »Dein Sohn Joseph kommt zu dir«, da machte Israel sich stark, setzte sich im Bett aufrecht hin
3 And he said Jacob to Joseph God Almighty he appeared to me at Luz in [the] land of Canaan and he blessed me.
und sagte dann zu Joseph: »Der allmächtige Gott ist mir einst zu Lus im Lande Kanaan erschienen und hat mich gesegnet
4 And he said to me here I [am] about to make fruitful you and I will multiply you and I will make you a company of peoples and I will give the land this to offspring your after you a possession of perpetuity.
mit den Worten: ›Ich will dich fruchtbar machen und mehren und dich zu einer Menge von Stämmen werden lassen und will dieses Land deiner Nachkommenschaft nach dir zu ewigem Besitz geben.‹
5 And now [the] two sons your who were born to you in [the] land of Egypt until came I to you Egypt towards [belong] to me they Ephraim and Manasseh like Reuben and Simeon they will be[long] to me.
Und nun sollen deine beiden Söhne, die dir im Lande Ägypten geboren worden sind, ehe ich zu dir nach Ägypten kam, mir gehören: Ephraim und Manasse sollen mir gehören wie Ruben und Simeon.
6 And offspring your whom you have fathered after them to you they will be[long] on [the] name of brothers their they will be called in inheritance their.
Deine übrigen Kinder aber, die dir nach ihnen geboren sind, sollen dir gehören: den Namen (eines) ihrer (beiden) Brüder sollen sie in ihrem Erbteil führen.
7 And I - when came I from Paddan she died on me Rachel in [the] land of Canaan on the journey at yet a distance of land to go Ephrathah and I buried her there on [the] journey of Ephrath that [is] Beth-lehem.
Was mich aber betrifft: als ich aus Mesopotamien heimkehrte, starb mir Rahel unterwegs im Lande Kanaan, als nur noch eine Strecke Weges bis Ephrath zu gehen war, und ich begrub sie dort am Wege nach Ephrath [das ist Bethlehem].«
8 And he saw Israel [the] sons of Joseph and he said who? [are] these.
Als nun Israel die Söhne Josephs sah, fragte er: »Wer sind diese?«
9 And he said Joseph to father his [are] sons my they whom he has given to me God in this [place] and he said fetch them please to me so I may bless them.
Joseph antwortete seinem Vater: »Es sind meine Söhne, die Gott mir hier geschenkt hat.« Da sagte er: »Bringe sie her zu mir, damit ich sie segne!«
10 And [the] eyes of Israel they were heavy from old age not he was able to see and he brought near them to him and he kissed them and he embraced them.
Israels Augen waren nämlich infolge des Alters schwach geworden, so daß er nicht (mehr) sehen konnte. Als er sie nun dicht an ihn herangebracht hatte, küßte und umarmte er sie.
11 And he said Israel to Joseph to see face your not I judged and here! he has shown me God also offspring your.
Hierauf sagte Israel zu Joseph: »Ich hatte nicht gehofft, dein Angesicht je wiederzusehen; und nun hat Gott mich sogar noch Kinder von dir sehen lassen!«
12 And he took Joseph them from with knees his and he bowed down to face his [the] ground towards.
Darauf zog Joseph sie wieder von seinen Knien weg und verneigte sich vor ihm bis zur Erde.
13 And he took Joseph [the] two of them Ephraim at right [hand] his from [the] left of Israel and Manasseh at left [hand] his from [the] right of Israel and he brought [them] near to him.
Dann nahm Joseph sie beide, Ephraim mit seiner rechten Hand auf der linken Seite Israels und Manasse mit seiner linken Hand auf der rechten Seite Israels, und ließ sie so an ihn herantreten.
14 And he stretched out Israel right [hand] his and he put [it] on [the] head of Ephraim and he [was] the young and left [hand] his on [the] head of Manasseh he laid cross-wise hands his for Manasseh [was] the firstborn.
Da streckte Israel seine rechte Hand aus und legte sie auf das Haupt Ephraims, obgleich er der jüngere war, und seine linke Hand auf das Haupt Manasses, indem er seine Arme übers Kreuz legte; denn Manasse war der Erstgeborene.
15 And he blessed Joseph and he said God whom they walked about fathers my before him Abraham and Isaac God who shepherded me from duration my until the day this.
Dann segnete er Joseph mit den Worten: »Der Gott, vor dessen Angesicht meine Väter Abraham und Isaak gewandelt sind, der Gott, der mein Hirt gewesen ist, seitdem ich lebe, bis auf diesen Tag,
16 The angel who has redeemed me from all harm may he bless the lads and may it be called in them name my and [the] name of fathers my Abraham and Isaac and may they multiply to abundance in [the] midst of the earth.
der Engel, der mich aus allem Unglück errettet hat: er segne diese Knaben, daß durch sie mein Name und der Name meiner Väter Abraham und Isaak fortlebt und sie sich zu einer großen Menge auf Erden vermehren!«
17 And he saw Joseph that he will put father his [the] hand of right his on [the] head of Ephraim and it was displeasing in view his and he grasped [the] hand of father his to remove it from on [the] head of Ephraim on [the] head of Manasseh.
Als nun Joseph sah, daß sein Vater seine rechte Hand andauernd auf das Haupt Ephraims legte, mißfiel ihm dies; er faßte daher die Hand seines Vaters, um sie vom Haupt Ephraims auf das Haupt Manasses zu legen,
18 And he said Joseph to father his not thus O father my for this [is] the firstborn put right [hand] your on head his.
indem er dabei zu seinem Vater sagte: »Nicht so, lieber Vater, denn dieser ist der Erstgeborene; lege deine rechte Hand auf sein Haupt!«
19 And he refused father his and he said I know O son my I know also he he will become a people and also he he will become great and but brother his young he will become great more than him and offspring his it will be [the] fullness of the nations.
Aber sein Vater wollte nicht und sagte: »Ich weiß es wohl, mein Sohn, ich weiß es! Auch dieser wird zu einem Volk werden, und auch er wird groß werden; jedoch sein jüngerer Bruder wird größer sein als er, und seine Nachkommen werden zu einer Menge von Völkern werden.«
20 And he blessed them on the day that saying by you it will bless Israel saying may he make you God like Ephraim and like Manasseh and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
So segnete er sie denn an jenem Tage mit den Worten: »Mit deinem Namen werden die Israeliten einen Segenswunsch aussprechen, indem sie sagen: ›Gott mache dich gleich Ephraim und gleich Manasse!‹« Damit stellte er Ephraim vor Manasse.
21 And he said Israel to Joseph here! I [am] about to die and he will be God with you and he will bring back you to [the] land of fathers your.
Hierauf sagte Israel zu Joseph: »Ich werde nun sterben; aber Gott wird mit euch sein und euch in das Land eurer Väter zurückkehren lassen.
22 And I I give to you a shoulder one over brothers your which I took from [the] hand of the Amorite[s] by sword my and by bow my.
Ich aber gebe dir einen Landstrich, den du vor deinen Brüdern voraushaben sollst; ich habe ihn den Amoritern einst mit meinem Schwert und meinem Bogen abgenommen.«
