Genesis 48
1 And it was after the things these and someone said to Joseph there! father your [is] sick and he took [the] two sons his with him Manasseh and Ephraim.
Après ces choses, l’on vint dire à Joseph: Voici, ton père est malade. Et il prit avec lui ses deux fils, Manassé et Éphraïm.
2 And someone told to Jacob and he said here! son your Joseph he has come to you and he strengthened himself Israel and he sat on the bed.
On avertit Jacob, et on lui dit: Voici ton fils Joseph qui vient vers toi. Et Israël rassembla ses forces, et s’assit sur son lit.
3 And he said Jacob to Joseph God Almighty he appeared to me at Luz in [the] land of Canaan and he blessed me.
Jacob dit à Joseph: Le Dieu tout-puissant m’est apparu à Luz, dans le pays de Canaan, et il m’a béni.
4 And he said to me here I [am] about to make fruitful you and I will multiply you and I will make you a company of peoples and I will give the land this to offspring your after you a possession of perpetuity.
Il m’a dit: Je te rendrai fécond, je te multiplierai, et je ferai de toi une multitude de peuples; je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité après toi, pour qu’elle le possède à toujours.
5 And now [the] two sons your who were born to you in [the] land of Egypt until came I to you Egypt towards [belong] to me they Ephraim and Manasseh like Reuben and Simeon they will be[long] to me.
Maintenant, les deux fils qui te sont nés au pays d’Égypte, avant mon arrivée vers toi en Égypte, seront à moi; Éphraïm et Manassé seront à moi, comme Ruben et Siméon.
6 And offspring your whom you have fathered after them to you they will be[long] on [the] name of brothers their they will be called in inheritance their.
Mais les enfants que tu as engendrés après eux seront à toi; ils seront appelés du nom de leurs frères dans leur héritage.
7 And I - when came I from Paddan she died on me Rachel in [the] land of Canaan on the journey at yet a distance of land to go Ephrathah and I buried her there on [the] journey of Ephrath that [is] Beth-lehem.
A mon retour de Paddan, Rachel mourut en route auprès de moi, dans le pays de Canaan, à quelque distance d’Éphrata; et c’est là que je l’ai enterrée, sur le chemin d’Éphrata, qui est Bethléhem.
8 And he saw Israel [the] sons of Joseph and he said who? [are] these.
Israël regarda les fils de Joseph, et dit: Qui sont ceux-ci?
9 And he said Joseph to father his [are] sons my they whom he has given to me God in this [place] and he said fetch them please to me so I may bless them.
Joseph répondit à son père: Ce sont mes fils, que Dieu m’a donnés ici. Israël dit: Fais-les, je te prie, approcher de moi, pour que je les bénisse.
10 And [the] eyes of Israel they were heavy from old age not he was able to see and he brought near them to him and he kissed them and he embraced them.
Les yeux d’Israël étaient appesantis par la vieillesse; il ne pouvait plus voir. Joseph les fit approcher de lui; et Israël leur donna un baiser, et les embrassa.
11 And he said Israel to Joseph to see face your not I judged and here! he has shown me God also offspring your.
Israël dit à Joseph: Je ne pensais pas revoir ton visage, et voici que Dieu me fait voir même ta postérité.
12 And he took Joseph them from with knees his and he bowed down to face his [the] ground towards.
Joseph les retira des genoux de son père, et il se prosterna en terre devant lui.
13 And he took Joseph [the] two of them Ephraim at right [hand] his from [the] left of Israel and Manasseh at left [hand] his from [the] right of Israel and he brought [them] near to him.
Puis Joseph les prit tous deux, Éphraïm de sa main droite à la gauche d’Israël, et Manassé de sa main gauche à la droite d’Israël, et il les fit approcher de lui.
14 And he stretched out Israel right [hand] his and he put [it] on [the] head of Ephraim and he [was] the young and left [hand] his on [the] head of Manasseh he laid cross-wise hands his for Manasseh [was] the firstborn.
Israël étendit sa main droite et la posa sur la tête d’Éphraïm qui était le plus jeune, et il posa sa main gauche sur la tête de Manassé: ce fut avec intention qu’il posa ses mains ainsi, car Manassé était le premier-né.
15 And he blessed Joseph and he said God whom they walked about fathers my before him Abraham and Isaac God who shepherded me from duration my until the day this.
Il bénit Joseph, et dit: Que le Dieu en présence duquel ont marché mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, que le Dieu qui m’a conduit depuis que j’existe jusqu’à ce jour,
16 The angel who has redeemed me from all harm may he bless the lads and may it be called in them name my and [the] name of fathers my Abraham and Isaac and may they multiply to abundance in [the] midst of the earth.
que l’ange qui m’a délivré de tout mal, bénisse ces enfants! Qu’ils soient appelés de mon nom et du nom de mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, et qu’ils multiplient en abondance au milieu du pays!
17 And he saw Joseph that he will put father his [the] hand of right his on [the] head of Ephraim and it was displeasing in view his and he grasped [the] hand of father his to remove it from on [the] head of Ephraim on [the] head of Manasseh.
Joseph vit avec déplaisir que son père posait sa main droite sur la tête d’Éphraïm; il saisit la main de son père, pour la détourner de dessus la tête d’Éphraïm, et la diriger sur celle de Manassé.
18 And he said Joseph to father his not thus O father my for this [is] the firstborn put right [hand] your on head his.
Et Joseph dit à son père: Pas ainsi, mon père, car celui-ci est le premier-né; pose ta main droite sur sa tête.
19 And he refused father his and he said I know O son my I know also he he will become a people and also he he will become great and but brother his young he will become great more than him and offspring his it will be [the] fullness of the nations.
Son père refusa, et dit: Je le sais, mon fils, je le sais; lui aussi deviendra un peuple, lui aussi sera grand; mais son frère cadet sera plus grand que lui, et sa postérité deviendra une multitude de nations.
20 And he blessed them on the day that saying by you it will bless Israel saying may he make you God like Ephraim and like Manasseh and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
Il les bénit ce jour-là, et dit: C’est par toi qu’Israël bénira, en disant: Que Dieu te traite comme Éphraïm et comme Manassé! Et il mit Éphraïm avant Manassé.
21 And he said Israel to Joseph here! I [am] about to die and he will be God with you and he will bring back you to [the] land of fathers your.
Israël dit à Joseph: Voici, je vais mourir! Mais Dieu sera avec vous, et il vous fera retourner dans le pays de vos pères.
22 And I I give to you a shoulder one over brothers your which I took from [the] hand of the Amorite[s] by sword my and by bow my.
Je te donne, de plus qu’à tes frères, une part que j’ai prise de la main des Amoréens avec mon épée et avec mon arc.
