Genesis 48
1 And it was after the things these and someone said to Joseph there! father your [is] sick and he took [the] two sons his with him Manasseh and Ephraim.
Enige tijd later berichtte men Josef: Uw vader is ziek. Terstond ging hij naar Jakob, en nam zijn beide zonen, Manasse en Efraïm, met zich mee.
2 And someone told to Jacob and he said here! son your Joseph he has come to you and he strengthened himself Israel and he sat on the bed.
Toen men Jakob vertelde, dat zijn zoon Josef was gekomen, verzamelde Israël zijn laatste krachten, en richtte zich in zijn bed overeind.
3 And he said Jacob to Joseph God Almighty he appeared to me at Luz in [the] land of Canaan and he blessed me.
En Jakob sprak tot Josef: De almachtige God is mij te Loez in het land Kanaän verschenen, en heeft mij gezegend.
4 And he said to me here I [am] about to make fruitful you and I will multiply you and I will make you a company of peoples and I will give the land this to offspring your after you a possession of perpetuity.
Hij heeft mij gezegd: Ik zal u vruchtbaar en talrijk maken, u tot een schaar van volken doen groeien, en dit land aan uw nageslacht schenken tot een eeuwig bezit.
5 And now [the] two sons your who were born to you in [the] land of Egypt until came I to you Egypt towards [belong] to me they Ephraim and Manasseh like Reuben and Simeon they will be[long] to me.
Welnu, uw beide zonen, die u in Egypte geboren zijn, voordat ik tot u in Egypte kwam, Efraïm en Manasse, gelden als zonen van mij; Efraïm en Manasse staan voor mij gelijk met Ruben en Simeon.
6 And offspring your whom you have fathered after them to you they will be[long] on [the] name of brothers their they will be called in inheritance their.
Maar de kinderen, die ge na hen zult krijgen, zullen de uwen zijn, en onder de naam van hun broeders hun erfdeel ontvangen.
7 And I - when came I from Paddan she died on me Rachel in [the] land of Canaan on the journey at yet a distance of land to go Ephrathah and I buried her there on [the] journey of Ephrath that [is] Beth-lehem.
Want toen ik uit Paddan-Aram kwam, is uw moeder Rachel in het land Kanaän op enige afstand van Efráta mij ontvallen, en heb ik haar op de weg naar Efráta, dat nu Betlehem heet, moeten begraven.
8 And he saw Israel [the] sons of Joseph and he said who? [are] these.
Toen Israël de zonen van Josef bemerkte, sprak hij: Wie hebt ge daar?
9 And he said Joseph to father his [are] sons my they whom he has given to me God in this [place] and he said fetch them please to me so I may bless them.
Josef gaf zijn vader ten antwoord: Het zijn mijn zonen, die God mij hier heeft gegeven. Hij zeide: Breng ze bij mij; ik wil ze zegenen.
10 And [the] eyes of Israel they were heavy from old age not he was able to see and he brought near them to him and he kissed them and he embraced them.
Want de ogen van Israël waren verzwakt van ouderdom, zodat hij niet kon zien. Toen Josef ze dus dicht bij hem had gebracht, kuste en omhelsde hij hen.
11 And he said Israel to Joseph to see face your not I judged and here! he has shown me God also offspring your.
En Israël sprak tot Josef: Ik had niet gedacht, dat ik u nog zou weerzien; en zie, nu laat God mij nog uw kinderen aanschouwen.
12 And he took Joseph them from with knees his and he bowed down to face his [the] ground towards.
Nu nam Josef ze van zijn knieën weg, en zij bogen zich ter aarde neer.
13 And he took Joseph [the] two of them Ephraim at right [hand] his from [the] left of Israel and Manasseh at left [hand] his from [the] right of Israel and he brought [them] near to him.
Dan nam Josef hen bij de hand: Efraïm bij de rechterhand, dus links van Israël; Manasse bij de linkerhand, dus rechts van Israël; zo plaatste hij ze vóór hem.
14 And he stretched out Israel right [hand] his and he put [it] on [the] head of Ephraim and he [was] the young and left [hand] his on [the] head of Manasseh he laid cross-wise hands his for Manasseh [was] the firstborn.
Maar Israël kruiste zijn armen: hij stak zijn rechterhand uit en legde die op het hoofd van Efraïm, ofschoon hij de jongste was, en zijn linkerhand op het hoofd van Manasse, ofschoon hij de eerstgeborene was.
15 And he blessed Joseph and he said God whom they walked about fathers my before him Abraham and Isaac God who shepherded me from duration my until the day this.
Toen zegende hij hen en sprak: De God, voor wiens aanschijn mijn vaderen hebben gewandeld, Abraham en Isaäk: De God, die mij heeft behoed van mijn geboorte af, Tot heden toe:
16 The angel who has redeemed me from all harm may he bless the lads and may it be called in them name my and [the] name of fathers my Abraham and Isaac and may they multiply to abundance in [the] midst of the earth.
De Engel, die mij uit alle nood heeft verlost, Zegene deze knapen! Moge in hen mijn naam blijven leven, en de naam van mijn vaderen, Abraham en Isaäk, En mogen zij vruchtbaar en talrijk worden In het land!
17 And he saw Joseph that he will put father his [the] hand of right his on [the] head of Ephraim and it was displeasing in view his and he grasped [the] hand of father his to remove it from on [the] head of Ephraim on [the] head of Manasseh.
Josef zag tot zijn ontsteltenis, dat zijn vader zijn rechterhand op het hoofd van Efraïm had gelegd. Hij greep de hand van zijn vader, om ze van het hoofd van Efraïm weg te nemen en op het hoofd van Manasse te leggen.
18 And he said Joseph to father his not thus O father my for this [is] the firstborn put right [hand] your on head his.
En Josef zei tot zijn vader: Zo niet vader; want dit is de oudste: leg uw rechterhand dus op zijn hoofd.
19 And he refused father his and he said I know O son my I know also he he will become a people and also he he will become great and but brother his young he will become great more than him and offspring his it will be [the] fullness of the nations.
Maar zijn vader weigerde het, en sprak: Ik weet het, mijn zoon, ik weet het! Ook hij zal een volk worden, ook hij zal groot zijn; maar zijn jongere broer zal nog groter worden dan hij, en zijn geslacht een ganse schaar van volken.
20 And he blessed them on the day that saying by you it will bless Israel saying may he make you God like Ephraim and like Manasseh and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
En hij zegende hen op die dag, en sprak: Met uw naam zal Israël zegen wensen en zeggen: God make u als Efraïm en Manasse! Zo stelde hij Efraïm boven Manasse.
21 And he said Israel to Joseph here! I [am] about to die and he will be God with you and he will bring back you to [the] land of fathers your.
Nu sprak Israël tot Josef: Zie, ik ga sterven; maar God zal met u zijn, en u terugleiden naar het land uwer vaderen.
22 And I I give to you a shoulder one over brothers your which I took from [the] hand of the Amorite[s] by sword my and by bow my.
Ik vermaak u één deel meer dan uw broeders; de bergrug, die ik op de Amorieten met mijn zwaard en mijn boog heb veroverd.
