Genesis 44
1 And he commanded [the one] who [was] over household his saying fill [the] sacks of the men food just as they are able! to carry and put [the] silver of each man in [the] mouth of sack his.
Siden bød han den som forestod hans hus: Fyll mennenes sekker med korn så meget de kan føre, og legg enhvers penger øverst i hans sekk!
2 And cup my [the] cup of silver you will put in [the] mouth of [the] sack of the young [brother] and [the] silver of grain his and he did according to [the] word of Joseph which he had spoken.
Men mitt beger, sølvbegeret, skal du legge øverst i den yngstes sekk sammen med pengene for hans korn. Og han gjorde som Josef bød ham.
3 The morning it was light and the men they were sent off they and donkeys their.
Om morgenen, da det blev lyst, lot de mennene med sine asener fare.
4 They they came out the city not they had gone far and Joseph he said to [the one] who [was] over household his arise pursue after the men and you will overtake them and you will say to them why? have you repaid evil for good.
Da de hadde draget ut av byen og ennu ikke var langt kommet, sa Josef til den som forestod hans hus: Ta avsted, sett efter mennene, og når du når dem, skal du si til dem: Hvorfor har I gjengjeldt godt med ondt?
5 ¿ Not [is] this [that] which he drinks master my in it and he indeed he practices divination by it you have done evil [that] which you have done.
Er det ikke det beger som min herre drikker av, og som han spår i? Dette var ille gjort av eder.
6 And he overtook them and he spoke to them the words these.
Og han innhentet dem og sa dette til dem.
7 And they said to him why? does he speak master my according to the words these far be it to servants your from doing according to the manner this.
Da sa de til ham: Hvorfor taler min herre således? Det være langt fra dine tjenere å gjøre noget slikt!
8 Here! silver which we found in [the] mouth of sacks our we brought back to you from [the] land of Canaan and how? will we steal from [the] house of master your silver or gold.
Se, de penger som vi fant øverst i våre sekker, hadde vi med oss tilbake til dig fra Kana'ans land; hvorledes skulde vi da stjele sølv eller gull fra din herres hus?
9 [anyone] whom It is found with him of servants your and he will die and also we we will be[long] to lord my to slaves.
Den av dine tjenere som det finnes hos, han skal dø, og vi andre skal være min herres træler.
10 And he said also now according to words your [will be] so it [anyone] whom it is found with him he will be of me slave and you you will be innocent.
Og han sa: Vel, la det være som I har sagt! Den som det finnes hos, skal være min træl, men I skal være uten skyld.
11 And they hurried and they brought down each man sack his [the] ground towards and they opened each man sack his.
Så skyndte de sig og løftet hver sin sekk ned på jorden, og enhver åpnet sin sekk.
12 And he searched with the old [brother] he began and with the young [brother] he finished and it was found the cup in [the] sack of Benjamin.
Og han så efter; han begynte hos den eldste og endte hos den yngste, og begeret blev funnet i Benjamins sekk.
13 And they tore clothes their and he loaded each man on donkey his and they went back the city towards.
Da sønderrev de sine klær og lesste hver på sitt asen og vendte tilbake til byen.
14 And he came Judah and brothers his [the] house of towards Joseph and he still he [was] there and they fell before him [the] ground towards.
Og Juda og hans brødre kom til Josefs hus mens han ennu var der, og de kastet sig til jorden for ham.
15 And he said to them Joseph what? [is] the deed this which you have done ¿ not do you know that indeed he practices divination a man who [is] like me.
Da sa Josef til dem: Hvad er det for noget I har gjort? Visste I ikke at en mann som jeg kan spå?
16 And he said Judah what? will we say to lord my what? will we speak and what? will we justify ourselves God he has found [the] guilt of servants your here we [are] slaves of lord my both we as well as [the one] who it was found the cup in hand his.
Og Juda sa: Hvad skal vi svare min herre? Hvad skal vi si, og hvad skal vi rettferdiggjøre oss med? Gud har funnet dine tjeneres misgjerning; se, vi er min herres træler, både vi og den som begeret blev funnet hos.
17 And he said far be it to me from doing this the man whom it was found the cup in hand his he he will be of me slave and you go up to peace to father your.
Men han sa: Det være langt fra mig å gjøre slikt! Den mann som begeret blev funnet hos, han skal være min træl, men dra I andre i fred op til eders far!
18 And he drew near to him Judah and he said pardon me O lord my may he speak please servant your a word in [the] ears of lord my and may not it burn anger your on servant your for as you as Pharaoh.
Da gikk Juda frem til ham og sa: Hør mig, herre! La din tjener få tale et ord for min herres ører, og la ikke din vrede optendes mot din tjener; for du er som Farao selv.
19 Lord my he asked servants his saying ¿ [does] there [belong] to you a father or a brother.
Min herre spurte sine tjenere: Har I far eller bror?
20 And we said to lord my there [belongs] to us a father old and a child of old age young and brother his he died and he was left he to only him to mother his and father his he loves him.
Da sa vi til min herre: Vi har en gammel far, og han har en ung sønn, som er født i hans alderdom; hans bror er død, og han er alene igjen efter sin mor, og hans far har ham så kjær.
21 And you said to servants your bring down him to me so let me set eye my on him.
Og du sa til dine tjenere: Før ham ned til mig, så jeg kan få se ham med mine egne øine!
22 And we said to lord my not he will be able the young man to leave father his and he will leave father his and he will die.
Da sa vi til min herre: Gutten kan ikke forlate sin far; for hvis han forlater sin far, da vil hans far dø.
23 And you said to servants your if not he will come down brother your young with you not you will repeat! to see face my.
Men du sa til dine tjenere: Dersom ikke eders yngste bror kommer ned med eder, skal I ikke mere komme for mine øine.
24 And it was that we went up to servant your father my and we told to him [the] words of lord my.
Da vi så kom hjem til din tjener min far, fortalte vi ham hvad min herre hadde sagt
25 And he said father our go back buy for us a little of food.
Og vår far sa: dra avsted igjen og kjøp litt korn til oss!
26 And we said not we are able to go down if there [is] brother our young with us and we will go down for not we will be able to see [the] face of the man and brother our young not he [is] with us.
Da sa vi: Vi kan ikke dra ned, men dersom vår yngste bror er med oss, da vil vi dra ned; for vi kan ikke komme mannen for øie uten at vår yngste bror er med.
27 And he said servant your father my to us you you know that two [sons] she bore to me wife my.
Men din tjener min far sa til - oss: I vet at min hustru fødte mig to sønner,
28 And he went out the one from with me and I said surely certainly he has been torn to pieces and not I have seen him until now.
og den ene gikk bort fra mig, og jeg sa: han er visselig revet ihjel; og jeg har aldri sett ham siden.
29 And you will take also this [one] from with presence my and it will happen to him harm and you will cause to go down gray hair my in calamity Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
Tar I nu også denne fra mig, og det møter ham nogen ulykke, så sender I mine grå hår med sorg ned i dødsriket. (Sheol h7585)
30 And therefore when come I to servant your father my and the lad not [is] he with us and life his [is] bound up with life his.
Skal jeg nu komme hjem til din tjener min far, og gutten, som han henger ved med hele sin sjel, ikke er med oss,
31 And it will be when sees he that there not [is] the young man and he will die and they will bring down servants your [the] gray hair of servant your father our in sorrow Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
så blir det hans død med det samme han ser at gutten ikke er med, og vi må sende din tjener vår fars grå hår med sorg ned i dødsriket. (Sheol h7585)
32 For servant your he stood surety for the young man from with father my saying if not I will bring him to you and I will be culpable to father my all the days.
For din tjener tok på sig å svare for gutten hos min far og sa: dersom jeg ikke har ham med tilbake til dig, vil jeg være min fars skyldner alle mine dager.
33 And therefore let him remain please servant your in place of the young man a slave of lord my and the lad let him go up with brothers his.
La derfor din tjener bli i guttens sted som træl hos min herre, men la gutten dra hjem med sine brødre!
34 For how? will I go up to father my and the lad not [is] he with me lest I should look on the calamity which it will find father my.
For hvorledes skulde jeg dra hjem til min far uten at gutten var med mig? Jeg kunde ikke se på den sorg som vilde komme over min far.
