Genesis 44
1 And he commanded [the one] who [was] over household his saying fill [the] sacks of the men food just as they are able! to carry and put [the] silver of each man in [the] mouth of sack his.
Diede poi questo ordine al maggiordomo della sua casa: «Riempi i sacchi di quegli uomini di tanti viveri quanti ne possono contenere e metti il denaro di ciascuno alla bocca del suo sacco.
2 And cup my [the] cup of silver you will put in [the] mouth of [the] sack of the young [brother] and [the] silver of grain his and he did according to [the] word of Joseph which he had spoken.
Insieme metterai la mia coppa, la coppa d'argento, alla bocca del sacco del più giovane, con il denaro del suo grano». Quegli fece secondo l'ordine di Giuseppe.
3 The morning it was light and the men they were sent off they and donkeys their.
Al mattino, fattosi chiaro, quegli uomini furono fatti partire con i loro asini.
4 They they came out the city not they had gone far and Joseph he said to [the one] who [was] over household his arise pursue after the men and you will overtake them and you will say to them why? have you repaid evil for good.
Erano appena usciti dalla città e ancora non si erano allontanati, quando Giuseppe disse al maggiordomo della sua casa: «Su, insegui quegli uomini, raggiungili e dì loro: Perché avete reso male per bene?
5 ¿ Not [is] this [that] which he drinks master my in it and he indeed he practices divination by it you have done evil [that] which you have done.
Non è forse questa la coppa in cui beve il mio signore e per mezzo della quale egli suole trarre i presagi? Avete fatto male a fare così».
6 And he overtook them and he spoke to them the words these.
Egli li raggiunse e ripetè loro queste parole.
7 And they said to him why? does he speak master my according to the words these far be it to servants your from doing according to the manner this.
Quelli gli dissero: «Perché il mio signore dice queste cose? Lungi dai tuoi servi il fare una tale cosa!
8 Here! silver which we found in [the] mouth of sacks our we brought back to you from [the] land of Canaan and how? will we steal from [the] house of master your silver or gold.
Ecco, il denaro che abbiamo trovato alla bocca dei nostri sacchi te lo abbiamo riportato dal paese di Canaan e come potremmo rubare argento od oro dalla casa del tuo padrone?
9 [anyone] whom It is found with him of servants your and he will die and also we we will be[long] to lord my to slaves.
Quello dei tuoi servi, presso il quale si troverà, sarà messo a morte e anche noi diventeremo schiavi del mio signore».
10 And he said also now according to words your [will be] so it [anyone] whom it is found with him he will be of me slave and you you will be innocent.
Rispose: «Ebbene, come avete detto, così sarà: colui, presso il quale si troverà, sarà mio schiavo e voi sarete innocenti».
11 And they hurried and they brought down each man sack his [the] ground towards and they opened each man sack his.
Ciascuno si affrettò a scaricare a terra il suo sacco e lo aprì.
12 And he searched with the old [brother] he began and with the young [brother] he finished and it was found the cup in [the] sack of Benjamin.
Quegli li frugò dal maggiore al più piccolo, e la coppa fu trovata nel sacco di Beniamino.
13 And they tore clothes their and he loaded each man on donkey his and they went back the city towards.
Allora essi si stracciarono le vesti, ricaricarono ciascuno il proprio asino e tornarono in città.
14 And he came Judah and brothers his [the] house of towards Joseph and he still he [was] there and they fell before him [the] ground towards.
Giuda e i suoi fratelli vennero nella casa di Giuseppe, che si trovava ancora là, e si gettarono a terra davanti a lui.
15 And he said to them Joseph what? [is] the deed this which you have done ¿ not do you know that indeed he practices divination a man who [is] like me.
Giuseppe disse loro: «Che azione avete commessa? Non sapete che un uomo come me è capace di indovinare?».
16 And he said Judah what? will we say to lord my what? will we speak and what? will we justify ourselves God he has found [the] guilt of servants your here we [are] slaves of lord my both we as well as [the one] who it was found the cup in hand his.
Giuda disse: «Che diremo al mio signore? Come parlare? Come giustificarci? Dio ha scoperto la colpa dei tuoi servi... Eccoci schiavi del mio signore, noi e colui che è stato trovato in possesso della coppa».
17 And he said far be it to me from doing this the man whom it was found the cup in hand his he he will be of me slave and you go up to peace to father your.
Ma egli rispose: «Lungi da me il far questo! L'uomo trovato in possesso della coppa, lui sarà mio schiavo: quanto a voi, tornate in pace da vostro padre».
18 And he drew near to him Judah and he said pardon me O lord my may he speak please servant your a word in [the] ears of lord my and may not it burn anger your on servant your for as you as Pharaoh.
Allora Giuda gli si fece innanzi e disse: «Mio signore, sia permesso al tuo servo di far sentire una parola agli orecchi del mio signore; non si accenda la tua ira contro il tuo servo, perché il faraone è come te!
19 Lord my he asked servants his saying ¿ [does] there [belong] to you a father or a brother.
Il mio signore aveva interrogato i suoi servi: Avete un padre o un fratello?
20 And we said to lord my there [belongs] to us a father old and a child of old age young and brother his he died and he was left he to only him to mother his and father his he loves him.
E noi avevamo risposto al mio signore: Abbiamo un padre vecchio e un figlio ancor giovane natogli in vecchiaia, suo fratello è morto ed egli è rimasto il solo dei figli di sua madre e suo padre lo ama.
21 And you said to servants your bring down him to me so let me set eye my on him.
Tu avevi detto ai tuoi servi: Conducetelo qui da me, perché lo possa vedere con i miei occhi.
22 And we said to lord my not he will be able the young man to leave father his and he will leave father his and he will die.
Noi avevamo risposto al mio signore: Il giovinetto non può abbandonare suo padre: se lascerà suo padre, questi morirà.
23 And you said to servants your if not he will come down brother your young with you not you will repeat! to see face my.
Ma tu avevi soggiunto ai tuoi servi: Se il vostro fratello minore non verrà qui con voi, non potrete più venire alla mia presenza.
24 And it was that we went up to servant your father my and we told to him [the] words of lord my.
Quando dunque eravamo ritornati dal tuo servo, mio padre, gli riferimmo le parole del mio signore.
25 And he said father our go back buy for us a little of food.
E nostro padre disse: Tornate ad acquistare per noi un pò di viveri.
26 And we said not we are able to go down if there [is] brother our young with us and we will go down for not we will be able to see [the] face of the man and brother our young not he [is] with us.
E noi rispondemmo: Non possiamo ritornare laggiù: se c'è con noi il nostro fratello minore, andremo; altrimenti, non possiamo essere ammessi alla presenza di quell'uomo senza avere con noi il nostro fratello minore.
27 And he said servant your father my to us you you know that two [sons] she bore to me wife my.
Allora il tuo servo, mio padre, ci disse: Voi sapete che due figli mi aveva procreato mia moglie.
28 And he went out the one from with me and I said surely certainly he has been torn to pieces and not I have seen him until now.
Uno partì da me e dissi: certo è stato sbranato! Da allora non l'ho più visto.
29 And you will take also this [one] from with presence my and it will happen to him harm and you will cause to go down gray hair my in calamity Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
Se ora mi porterete via anche questo e gli capitasse una disgrazia, voi fareste scendere con dolore la mia canizie nella tomba. (Sheol h7585)
30 And therefore when come I to servant your father my and the lad not [is] he with us and life his [is] bound up with life his.
Ora, quando io arriverò dal tuo servo, mio padre, e il giovinetto non sarà con noi, mentre la vita dell'uno è legata alla vita dell'altro,
31 And it will be when sees he that there not [is] the young man and he will die and they will bring down servants your [the] gray hair of servant your father our in sorrow Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
appena egli avrà visto che il giovinetto non è con noi, morirà e i tuoi servi avranno fatto scendere con dolore negli inferi la canizie del tuo servo, nostro padre. (Sheol h7585)
32 For servant your he stood surety for the young man from with father my saying if not I will bring him to you and I will be culpable to father my all the days.
Ma il tuo servo si è reso garante del giovinetto presso mio padre: Se non te lo ricondurrò, sarò colpevole verso mio padre per tutta la vita.
33 And therefore let him remain please servant your in place of the young man a slave of lord my and the lad let him go up with brothers his.
Ora, lascia che il tuo servo rimanga invece del giovinetto come schiavo del mio signore e il giovinetto torni lassù con i suoi fratelli!
34 For how? will I go up to father my and the lad not [is] he with me lest I should look on the calamity which it will find father my.
Perché, come potrei tornare da mio padre senz'avere con me il giovinetto? Ch'io non veda il male che colpirebbe mio padre!».
