< Genesis 43 >

1 And the famine [was] heavy in the land.
A, he tino nui te matekai o te whenua.
2 And it was just when they finished to eat the grain which they had brought from Egypt and he said to them father their go back buy for us a little of food.
A, ka pau te witi i maua mai e ratou i Ihipa, na ka mea to ratou papa ki a ratou, Hoki atu ki te hoko i tetahi wahi kai ma tatou.
3 And he said to him Judah saying certainly he warned us the man saying not you will see face my except brother your [is] with you.
A ka korero a Hura ki a ia, ka mea, I tino whakatupato taua tangata i a matou, i mea, E kore koutou e kite i toku mata ki te kahore to koutou teina i a koutou.
4 If there you [are] sending brother our with us we will go down and we will buy for you food.
5 And if not you [are] sending [him] not we will go down for the man he said to us not you will see face my except brother your [is] with you.
6 And he said Israel why? did you do harm to me by telling to the man ¿ still [belong] to you [does] a brother.
Na ka mea a Iharaira, He aha koutou i ngarahu kino ai ki ahau, i whakaatu ai ki taua tangata he teina ano to koutou?
7 And they said carefully he asked the man of us and of kindred our saying ¿ still [is] father your living ¿ [does] there [belong] to you a brother and we told to him on [the] mouth of the words these ¿ really did we know that he will say bring down brother your.
A ka mea ratou, I tino ui taua tangata ki o matou ahua, ki o matou whanaunga hoki, i mea mai, E ora ana ano ranei to koutou papa? tena ano ranei tetahi atu teina o koutou? a rite tonu ki enei kupu ta matou i korero ai ki a ia: tera ranei matou e ata mohio ka ki mai ia, Kawea mai to koutou teina ki raro nei?
8 And he said Judah to Israel father his send! the young man with me so let us arise and we will go and we may live and not we will die both we as well as you as well as little one[s] our.
Na ka mea a Hura ki tona papa, ki a Iharaira, Tukua te tamaiti ki ahau, a ka whakatika matou, ka haere; kia ora ai tatou, kei mate tahi hoki matou me koe, me a matou potiki.
9 I I will stand surety for him from hand my you will require him if not I have brought him to you and I will set him before you and I will be culpable to you all the days.
Ko ahau hei utu mona; me rapu ia e koe i toku ringa: ki te kahore ahau e kawe mai i a ia ki a koe, e whakatu hoki i a ia ki tou aroaro, na, hei whakahenga ahau mau i nga ra katoa:
10 For if not we had delayed for now we have returned this two times.
Me i kahore hoki matou i roa nei, kua rua enei hokinga mai o matou inaianei.
11 And he said to them Israel father their if so - then this do take some of [the] best products of the land in vessels your and take down to the man a gift a little of balm and a little of honey spice and myrrh pistachio nuts and almonds.
Katahi ka mea a Iharaira, to ratou papa ki a ratou, Ki te mea ra he penei te hanga, ko tenei ta koutou e mea ai; maua atu etahi o nga hua papai o te whenua i roto i a koutou oko, kawea atu hoki he hakari ki raro, ki taua tangata, tetahi wahi pam a, me tetahi wahi honi, etahi aramona:
12 And silver double take in hand your and the silver that was returned in [the] mouth of sacks your you will take back in hand your perhaps [was] a mistake it.
Kia takirua hoki nga hiriwa e maua atu i roto i o koutou ringa; ko te moni hoki i whakahokia mai i te waha o a koutou peke, me whakahoki atu ano tena i roto i o koutou ringa; he pohehe noa pea tena:
13 And brother your take and arise go back to the man.
Kawea atu ano hoki to koutou teina, a whakatika, hoki atu ano ki taua tangata:
14 And God Almighty may he give to you compassion before the man and he will let go to you brother your other and Benjamin and I just when I have been bereaved I have been bereaved.
15 And they took the men the gift this and double money they took in hand their and Benjamin and they arose and they went down Egypt and they stood before Joseph.
16 And he saw Joseph with them Benjamin and he said to [the one] who [was] over household his bring the men the house towards and slaughter a slaughter and prepare [it] for with me they will eat the men at noon.
17 And he did the man just as he said Joseph and he brought the man the men [the] house of towards Joseph.
18 And they were afraid the men that they were brought [the] house of Joseph and they said on [the] matter of the silver which returned in sacks our at the beginning we [are] being brought to roll himself on us and to throw himself on us and to take us to slaves and donkeys our.
Na ka wehi aua tangata, mo ratou i kawea ki te whare o Hohepa; a ka mea ratou, Mo te moni i whakahokia i roto i a tatou peke i te haerenga tuatahi i kawea mai ai tatou; kia whai take mai ai ia ki a tatou, mo tana rere mai ki a tatou ki te tango i a tatou hei pononga, me a tatou kaihe hoki.
19 And they approached the man who [was] over [the] household of Joseph and they spoke to him [the] entrance of the house.
20 And they said pardon us O lord my certainly we came down at the beginning to buy food.
Ka mea, E te ariki, i haere mai ano matou i mua ki te hoko kai:
21 And it was that we came to the lodging place and we opened! sacks our and there! [the] silver of each man [was] in [the] mouth of sack his silver our in weight its and we have brought back it in hand our.
22 And silver other we have brought down in hand our to buy food not we know who? did he put silver our in sacks our.
Kua kawea mai ano e matou i roto i o matou ringa tetahi atu moni hei hoko kai: kahore matou e mohio na wai ranei i maka a matou moni ki a matou peke.
23 And he said peace [be] to you may not you fear God your and [the] God of father your he gave to you treasure in sacks your silver your it came to me and he brought out to them Simeon.
24 And he brought the man the men [the] house of towards Joseph and he gave water and they washed feet their and he gave fodder to donkeys their.
Na ka kawe taua tangata i aua tangata ki te whare o Hohepa, ka hoatu e ia he wai hei horoi mo o ratou waewae; i hoatu ano e ia he kai ma a ratou kaihe.
25 And they prepared the gift until came Joseph at noon for they had heard that there they will eat food.
26 And he came Joseph the house towards and they brought to him the gift which [was] in hand their the house towards and they bowed down to him [the] ground towards.
A, i te taenga mai o Hohepa ki te whare, ka kawea e ratou ki a ia te hakari a o ratou ringa ki te whare, a ka piko ki a ia ki te whenua.
27 And he asked of them to welfare and he said ¿ health [is] father your old whom you spoke ¿ [is] still he alive.
E ora ana ano ranei ia?
28 And they said health [belongs] to servant your to father our still he [is] alive and they bowed low (and they bowed down. *Q(K)*)
A ka mea ratou ki a ia, Kei te pai tau pononga, to matou papa, e ora ana ano ia. Na ka tuohu ratou, ka piko iho.
29 And he lifted up eyes his and he saw Benjamin brother his [the] son of mother his and he said ¿ [is] this brother your young whom you spoke to me and he said God may he show favor to you O son my.
Ka maranga tona kanohi, ka kite ia i a Pineamine, i tona teina, i te tama a tona whaea, a ka mea, Ko to koutou teina tenei, ko te whakaotinga i korerotia ra e koutou ki ahau? I mea ano ia, Kia aroha te Atua ki a koe, e taku tama.
30 And he hurried Joseph for they grew warm compassion his to brother his and he sought to weep and he went the inner room towards and he wept there.
Na ka hohoro a Hohepa; he tokonga ake hoki no tona ngakau aroha ki tona teina: a ka rapua e ia tetahi wahi hei tangihanga; a haere ano ia ki te ruma i roto, ki reira tangi ai.
31 And he washed face his and he came out and he restrained himself and he said set food.
32 And they set for him to only him and to them to alone them and for the Egyptians who were eating with him to alone them for not they were able! the Egyptians to eat with the Hebrews food for [is] an abomination it to Egypt.
Na ka whakatakotoria e ratou, mana ki a ia anake, ma ratou ki a ratou anake, ma nga Ihipiana, i kai tahi me ia, ki a ratou anake: e kore hoki e ahei i nga Ihipiana te kai taro tahi me nga Hiperu; he mea whakarihariha hoki tena ki nga Ihipiana.
33 And they sat down before him the firstborn according to birthright his and the young [brother] according to youth his and they looked in astonishment the men each to neighbor his.
34 And someone took portions from with face his to them and it was great [the] portion of Benjamin more than [the] portions of all of them five hands and they drank and they became drunk with him.
Na ka tuwhaina atu e ia etahi o nga wahi i tona aroaro ma ratou: he nui rawa ia te wahi i a Pineamine; me i takirimatia te wahi a tetahi o ratou kua rite ki tana. Na ka inu ratou, ka koa tahi me ia.
