1 And the famine [was] heavy in the land.
Tedae diklai ah khokha a nah pueng dongah,
2 And it was just when they finished to eat the grain which they had brought from Egypt and he said to them father their go back buy for us a little of food.

3 And he said to him Judah saying certainly he warned us the man saying not you will see face my except brother your [is] with you.

4 If there you [are] sending brother our with us we will go down and we will buy for you food.
Ka mana te nan tueih mai koinih ka cet uh vetih namah ham man caak ka lai uh ve.
5 And if not you [are] sending [him] not we will go down for the man he said to us not you will see face my except brother your [is] with you.
Nan tueih van pawt atah hlang loh kaimih taengah, 'Na mana te namah neh na pawk pawt atah kai maelhmai hmu uh mahpawh,’ a ti oeh dongah ka cet uh mahpawh, a ti nah.
6 And he said Israel why? did you do harm to me by telling to the man ¿ still [belong] to you [does] a brother.
Te dongah Israel loh, “Na mana khat te khaw ba ham lae hlang taengla na puen uh tih kai he nan talh uh,” a ti nah.
7 And they said carefully he asked the man of us and of kindred our saying ¿ still [is] father your living ¿ [does] there [belong] to you a brother and we told to him on [the] mouth of the words these ¿ really did we know that he will say bring down brother your.
Te dongah a ca rhoek loh, “Hlang loh mamih kawng neh pacaboeina kawng te n'dawt n'dawt tih, 'Na pa hing pueng a? Na mana om a? a ti dongah a ka dongkah olka te ni ka doo uh dae, 'Na mana han khuen,’ a ti ni tila ka ming khaw ka ming uh huek a,” a ti nauh.
8 And he said Judah to Israel father his send! the young man with me so let us arise and we will go and we may live and not we will die both we as well as you as well as little one[s] our.
Tedae Judah loh a napa Israel la, “Camoe te kamah neh n'tueih lamtah caeh hamla ka hlah uh pawn ni. Te daengah ni n'hing uh vetih kaimih khaw, namah khaw, camoe rhoek khaw n'duek pawt eh.
9 I I will stand surety for him from hand my you will require him if not I have brought him to you and I will set him before you and I will be culpable to you all the days.

10 For if not we had delayed for now we have returned this two times.
Tedae ka uelh uh pawt koinih he la koep ka voei uh pawn ni,” a ti nah.
11 And he said to them Israel father their if so - then this do take some of [the] best products of the land in vessels your and take down to the man a gift a little of balm and a little of honey spice and myrrh pistachio nuts and almonds.

12 And silver double take in hand your and the silver that was returned in [the] mouth of sacks your you will take back in hand your perhaps [was] a mistake it.

13 And brother your take and arise go back to the man.
Na mana khaw khuen uh. Hlah uh lamtah hlang taengla ha cet uh laeh.
14 And God Almighty may he give to you compassion before the man and he will let go to you brother your other and Benjamin and I just when I have been bereaved I have been bereaved.
Hlang hmai ah khaw Pathen Tlungthang loh nangmih taengah haidamnah han khueh saeh lamtah na mana neh Benjamin te han hlah saeh. Ka loh cakol khaw ka cakol mai eh?,” a ti nah.
15 And they took the men the gift this and double money they took in hand their and Benjamin and they arose and they went down Egypt and they stood before Joseph.

16 And he saw Joseph with them Benjamin and he said to [the one] who [was] over household his bring the men the house towards and slaughter a slaughter and prepare [it] for with me they will eat the men at noon.

17 And he did the man just as he said Joseph and he brought the man the men [the] house of towards Joseph.
Tekah hlang long khaw Joseph kah a thui bangla a saii van tih hlang rhoek te Joseph im la a khuen.
18 And they were afraid the men that they were brought [the] house of Joseph and they said on [the] matter of the silver which returned in sacks our at the beginning we [are] being brought to roll himself on us and to throw himself on us and to take us to slaves and donkeys our.

19 And they approached the man who [was] over [the] household of Joseph and they spoke to him [the] entrance of the house.
Te dongah Joseph im kah hlang taengla thoeih uh tih im kah thohka ah a voek uh.
20 And they said pardon us O lord my certainly we came down at the beginning to buy food.
Te phoeiah, “Ka boeipa aw, a moecuek vaengah ni caak lai ham ka suntlak khaw ka suntlak uh coeng.
21 And it was that we came to the lodging place and we opened! sacks our and there! [the] silver of each man [was] in [the] mouth of sack his silver our in weight its and we have brought back it in hand our.
Tedae rhaehim ka pha uh vaengah kamamih kah sungkoi te ka hlam uh hatah sungkoi kah a rhai ah tangka te rhip a om tarha dongah amah tarhing la ka kut dongah ka tangka te kan khuen uh.
22 And silver other we have brought down in hand our to buy food not we know who? did he put silver our in sacks our.
Te phoeiah caak lai ham te ka kut dongah tangka a hloeh la kang khuen uh ngawn. Unim kaimih kah sungkoi dongah tangka a khueh dae ka ming uh pawh,” a ti uh.
23 And he said peace [be] to you may not you fear God your and [the] God of father your he gave to you treasure in sacks your silver your it came to me and he brought out to them Simeon.
Tedae Joseph im om loh, “Nangmih taengah rhoepnah om saeh, rhih uh boeh. Na Pathen neh na pa kah Pathen loh na sungkoi dongah nangmih ham kawn a khueh tih na tangka loh kai taeng ham pha coeng,” a ti nah tih Simeon te amih taengla a mawt pah.
24 And he brought the man the men [the] house of towards Joseph and he gave water and they washed feet their and he gave fodder to donkeys their.
Tekah hlang loh hlang rhoek te Joseph im la a khuen. Tui a paek tih a kho a yuh phoeiah laak ham rhamcak khaw a tloeng pah.
25 And they prepared the gift until came Joseph at noon for they had heard that there they will eat food.
Tedae khothun buh caak pahoi ham Joseph ha pawk ni tila a yaak uh dongah a khosaa te a soepboe uh.
26 And he came Joseph the house towards and they brought to him the gift which [was] in hand their the house towards and they bowed down to him [the] ground towards.
Te dongah im la Joseph halo van neh a kut dongkah khosaa te im khuila a khuen uh tih a hmaiah diklai la bakop uh.
27 And he asked of them to welfare and he said ¿ health [is] father your old whom you spoke ¿ [is] still he alive.
Te phoeiah amih te sading kawng a dawt tih, “Na pa patong na ti uh te sading la hing pueng a?,” a ti nah.
28 And they said health [belongs] to servant your to father our still he [is] alive and they bowed low (and they bowed down. *Q(K)*)
Te vaengah, “Na sal rhoek khaw ka sading uh tih a pa khaw hing pueng,” a ti nah uh phoeiah buluk uh tih a bawk la a bawk uh coeng.
29 And he lifted up eyes his and he saw Benjamin brother his [the] son of mother his and he said ¿ [is] this brother your young whom you spoke to me and he said God may he show favor to you O son my.

30 And he hurried Joseph for they grew warm compassion his to brother his and he sought to weep and he went the inner room towards and he wept there.

31 And he washed face his and he came out and he restrained himself and he said set food.
Tedae a hmai a hlak phoeiah halo tih thiim uh. Te phoeiah, “Buh poep laeh,” a ti nah.
32 And they set for him to only him and to them to alone them and for the Egyptians who were eating with him to alone them for not they were able! the Egyptians to eat with the Hebrews food for [is] an abomination it to Egypt.

33 And they sat down before him the firstborn according to birthright his and the young [brother] according to youth his and they looked in astonishment the men each to neighbor his.

34 And someone took portions from with face his to them and it was great [the] portion of Benjamin more than [the] portions of all of them five hands and they drank and they became drunk with him.
Te vaengah Joseph loh amah hmai kah buham te amih ham a poep pa thil hatah Benjamin kah buham ngawtah amih boeih kah buham lakah a pueh panga la yet. A ok uh tih a taengah rhuihmil uh.
