Genesis 41
1 And it was from [the] end of two years days and Pharaoh [was] dreaming and there! [he was] standing at the River.
| ויהי מקץ שנתים ימים ופרעה חלם והנה עמד על היאר |
2 And there! from the River [were] coming up seven cows good looking of appearance and fat of flesh and they grazed among the reed[s].
| והנה מן היאר עלת שבע פרות יפות מראה ובריאת בשר ותרעינה באחו |
3 And there! seven cows another [were] coming up after them from the River displeasing of appearance and thin of flesh and they stood beside the cows on [the] bank of the River.
| והנה שבע פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן מן היאר רעות מראה ודקות בשר ותעמדנה אצל הפרות על שפת היאר |
4 And they ate the cows displeasing of appearance and [the] thin of flesh seven the cows good looking of appearance and fat and he awoke Pharaoh.
| ותאכלנה הפרות רעות המראה ודקת הבשר את שבע הפרות יפת המראה והבריאת וייקץ פרעה |
5 And he slept and he dreamed a second [time] and there! - seven ears of grain [were] coming up on a stalk one fat and good.
| ויישן ויחלם שנית והנה שבע שבלים עלות בקנה אחד--בריאות וטבות |
6 And there! seven ears of grain thin and scorched of an east wind [were] springing up after them.
| והנה שבע שבלים דקות ושדופת קדים--צמחות אחריהן |
7 And they swallowed the ears of grain thin seven the ears of grain fat and full and he awoke Pharaoh and there! a dream.
| ותבלענה השבלים הדקות את שבע השבלים הבריאות והמלאות וייקץ פרעה והנה חלום |
8 And it was in the morning and it was troubled spirit his and he sent and he summoned all [the] diviner priests of Egypt and all wise [men] its and he recounted Pharaoh to them dream his and there not [was one who] interpreted them for Pharaoh.
| ויהי בבקר ותפעם רוחו וישלח ויקרא את כל חרטמי מצרים ואת כל חכמיה ויספר פרעה להם את חלמו ואין פותר אותם לפרעה |
9 And he spoke [the] chief of the cup bearers with Pharaoh saying sins my I [am] bringing to remembrance this day.
| וידבר שר המשקים את פרעה לאמר את חטאי אני מזכיר היום |
10 Pharaoh he was angry towards servants his and he put me in [the] custody of [the] house of [the] commander of the bodyguards me and [the] chief of the bakers.
| פרעה קצף על עבדיו ויתן אתי במשמר בית שר הטבחים--אתי ואת שר האפים |
11 And we dreamed! a dream in a night one I and he each according to [the] interpretation of dream his we dreamed.
| ונחלמה חלום בלילה אחד אני והוא איש כפתרון חלמו חלמנו |
12 And [was] there with us a young man a Hebrew a slave of [the] commander of the bodyguards and we recounted to him and he interpreted for us dreams our each according to dream his he interpreted.
| ושם אתנו נער עברי עבד לשר הטבחים ונספר לו ויפתר לנו את חלמתינו איש כחלמו פתר |
13 And it was just as he interpreted for us so it was me he restored to office my and him he hanged.
| ויהי כאשר פתר לנו כן היה אתי השיב על כני ואתו תלה |
14 And he sent Pharaoh and he summoned Joseph and people brought quickly him from the pit and he shaved and he changed clothes his and he came to Pharaoh.
| וישלח פרעה ויקרא את יוסף ויריצהו מן הבור ויגלח ויחלף שמלתיו ויבא אל פרעה |
15 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph a dream I have dreamed and [is one who] interprets there not it and I I have heard on you saying you hear a dream to interpret it.
| ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף חלום חלמתי ופתר אין אתו ואני שמעתי עליך לאמר תשמע חלום לפתר אתו |
16 And he answered Joseph Pharaoh saying apart from me God he will answer [the] welfare of Pharaoh.
| ויען יוסף את פרעה לאמר בלעדי אלהים יענה את שלום פרעה |
17 And he spoke Pharaoh to Joseph in dream my if [was] I standing on [the] bank of the River.
| וידבר פרעה אל יוסף בחלמי הנני עמד על שפת היאר |
18 And there! from the River [were] coming up seven cows fat of flesh and good looking of form and they grazed among the reed[s].
| והנה מן היאר עלת שבע פרות בריאות בשר ויפת תאר ותרעינה באחו |
19 And there! seven cows another [were] coming up after them weak and displeasing of form very and thin of flesh not I have seen like them in all [the] land of Egypt to badness.
| והנה שבע פרות אחרות עלות אחריהן דלות ורעות תאר מאד ורקות בשר לא ראיתי כהנה בכל ארץ מצרים לרע |
20 And they ate the cows thin and displeasing seven the cows former fat.
| ותאכלנה הפרות הרקות והרעות--את שבע הפרות הראשנות הבריאת |
21 And they went into inward part[s] their and not it was known that they had gone into inward part[s] their and appearance their [was] displeasing just as at the beginning and I awoke.
| ותבאנה אל קרבנה ולא נודע כי באו אל קרבנה ומראיהן רע כאשר בתחלה ואיקץ |
22 And I saw in dream my and there! - seven ears of grain [were] coming up on a stalk one full and good.
| וארא בחלמי והנה שבע שבלים עלת בקנה אחד--מלאת וטבות |
23 And there! seven ears of grain withered thin scorched of an east wind [were] springing up after them.
| והנה שבע שבלים צנמות דקות שדפות קדים--צמחות אחריהם |
24 And they swallowed the ears of grain thin seven the ears of grain good and I said to the diviner priests and there not [was one who] told to me.
| ותבלען השבלים הדקת את שבע השבלים הטבות ואמר אל החרטמים ואין מגיד לי |
25 And he said Joseph to Pharaoh [the] dream of Pharaoh [is] one it [that] which God [is] about to do he has told to Pharaoh.
| ויאמר יוסף אל פרעה חלום פרעה אחד הוא את אשר האלהים עשה הגיד לפרעה |
26 Seven cows good [are] seven years they and seven the ears of grain good [are] seven years they [is] dream one it.
| שבע פרת הטבת שבע שנים הנה ושבע השבלים הטבת שבע שנים הנה חלום אחד הוא |
27 And seven the cows thin and displeasing that were coming up after them [are] seven years they and seven the ears of grain empty scorched of the east wind they will be seven years of famine.
| ושבע הפרות הרקות והרעת העלת אחריהן שבע שנים הנה ושבע השבלים הרקות שדפות הקדים--יהיו שבע שני רעב |
28 That [is] the word which I spoke to Pharaoh [that] which God [is] about to do he has shown Pharaoh.
| הוא הדבר אשר דברתי אל פרעה אשר האלהים עשה הראה את פרעה |
29 There! seven years [are] about to come plenty great [will be] in all [the] land of Egypt.
| הנה שבע שנים באות--שבע גדול בכל ארץ מצרים |
30 And they will arise seven years of famine after them and it will be forgotten all the plenty in [the] land of Egypt and it will destroy the famine the land.
| וקמו שבע שני רעב אחריהן ונשכח כל השבע בארץ מצרים וכלה הרעב את הארץ |
31 And not it will be known the plenty in the land because of the famine that after thus for [will be] heavy it very.
| ולא יודע השבע בארץ מפני הרעב ההוא אחרי כן כי כבד הוא מאד |
32 And on [the] being repeated of the dream to Pharaoh two times for [is] certain the matter from with God and [is] hurrying God to do it.
| ועל השנות החלום אל פרעה פעמים--כי נכון הדבר מעם האלהים וממהר האלהים לעשתו |
33 And therefore let him see Pharaoh a man discerning and wise and let him set him over [the] land of Egypt.
| ועתה ירא פרעה איש נבון וחכם וישיתהו על ארץ מצרים |
34 Let him act Pharaoh and let him appoint overseers over the land and he will take a fifth of [the] land of Egypt in seven [the] years of plenty.
| יעשה פרעה ויפקד פקדים על הארץ וחמש את ארץ מצרים בשבע שני השבע |
35 And let them gather all [the] food of the years good that are coming these and let them store up grain under [the] hand of Pharaoh food in the cities and they will keep [it].
| ויקבצו את כל אכל השנים הטבות הבאת האלה ויצברו בר תחת יד פרעה אכל בערים--ושמרו |
36 And it will become the food a store for the land for seven [the] years of famine which they will be in [the] land of Egypt and not it will be cut off the land by the famine.
| והיה האכל לפקדון לארץ לשבע שני הרעב אשר תהיין בארץ מצרים ולא תכרת הארץ ברעב |
37 And it was good the word in [the] eyes of Pharaoh and in [the] eyes of all servants his.
| וייטב הדבר בעיני פרעה ובעיני כל עבדיו |
38 And he said Pharaoh to servants his ¿ has he been found like this one a man whom [the] spirit of God [is] in him.
| ויאמר פרעה אל עבדיו הנמצא כזה--איש אשר רוח אלהים בו |
39 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph after has made know God you all this there not [is] a discerning [person] and a wise [person] like you.
| ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף אחרי הודיע אלהים אותך את כל זאת אין נבון וחכם כמוך |
40 You you will be over house my and on mouth your it will kiss all people my only the throne I will be great more than you.
| אתה תהיה על ביתי ועל פיך ישק כל עמי רק הכסא אגדל ממך |
41 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph see I set you over all [the] land of Egypt.
| ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף ראה נתתי אתך על כל ארץ מצרים |
42 And he removed Pharaoh signet-ring his from on hand his and he set it on [the] hand of Joseph and he clothed him clothes of fine linen and he put [the] chain of gold on neck his.
| ויסר פרעה את טבעתו מעל ידו ויתן אתה על יד יוסף וילבש אתו בגדי שש וישם רבד הזהב על צוארו |
43 And he made ride him in [the] chariot of the second which [belonged] to him and they called out before him bend [the] knee and he put him over all [the] land of Egypt.
| וירכב אתו במרכבת המשנה אשר לו ויקראו לפניו אברך ונתון אתו על כל ארץ מצרים |
44 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph I [am] Pharaoh and apart from you not he will lift up anyone hand his and foot his in all [the] land of Egypt.
| ויאמר פרעה אל יוסף אני פרעה ובלעדיך לא ירים איש את ידו ואת רגלו--בכל ארץ מצרים |
45 And he called Pharaoh [the] name of Joseph Zaphenath-Paneah and he gave to him Asenath [the] daughter of Poti-phera [the] priest of On to a wife and he went out Joseph over [the] land of Egypt.
| ויקרא פרעה שם יוסף צפנת פענח ויתן לו את אסנת בת פוטי פרע כהן אן לאשה ויצא יוסף על ארץ מצרים |
46 And Joseph [was] a son of thirty year[s] when stood he before Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and he went out Joseph from to before Pharaoh and he passed in all [the] land of Egypt.
| ויוסף בן שלשים שנה בעמדו לפני פרעה מלך מצרים ויצא יוסף מלפני פרעה ויעבר בכל ארץ מצרים |
47 And it produced the land in seven [the] years of plenty to handfuls.
| ותעש הארץ בשבע שני השבע--לקמצים |
48 And he gathered all [the] food of - seven [the] years which they were in [the] land of Egypt and he put food in the cities [the] food of [the] field[s] of the city which [was] around it he put in [the] midst of it.
| ויקבץ את כל אכל שבע שנים אשר היו בארץ מצרים ויתן אכל בערים אכל שדה העיר אשר סביבתיה נתן בתוכה |
49 And he stored up Joseph grain like [the] sand of the sea much very until that he ceased to measure [it] for there not [was] a measure.
| ויצבר יוסף בר כחול הים הרבה מאד--עד כי חדל לספר כי אין מספר |
50 And to Joseph it was born two sons before it came [the] year of famine whom she bore to him Asenath [the] daughter of Poti-phera [the] priest of On.
| וליוסף ילד שני בנים בטרם תבוא שנת הרעב אשר ילדה לו אסנת בת פוטי פרע כהן און |
51 And he called Joseph [the] name of the firstborn Manasseh for he has made forget me God all trouble my and all [the] household of father my.
| ויקרא יוסף את שם הבכור מנשה כי נשני אלהים את כל עמלי ואת כל בית אבי |
52 And [the] name of the second he called Ephraim for he has made fruitful me God in [the] land of affliction my.
| ואת שם השני קרא אפרים כי הפרני אלהים בארץ עניי |
53 And they came to an end seven [the] years of plenty which it was in [the] land of Egypt.
| ותכלינה שבע שני השבע אשר היה בארץ מצרים |
54 And they began seven [the] years of famine to come just as he had said Joseph and it was a famine in all the lands and in all [the] land of Egypt it was food.
| ותחלינה שבע שני הרעב לבוא כאשר אמר יוסף ויהי רעב בכל הארצות ובכל ארץ מצרים היה לחם |
55 And it was hungry all [the] land of Egypt and it cried out the people to Pharaoh for food and he said Pharaoh to all Egypt go to Joseph [that] which he will say to you you will do.
| ותרעב כל ארץ מצרים ויצעק העם אל פרעה ללחם ויאמר פרעה לכל מצרים לכו אל יוסף אשר יאמר לכם תעשו |
56 And the famine it was over all [the] face of the land and he opened Joseph all that [was] in them and he bought grain to Egypt and it was severe the famine in [the] land of Egypt.
| והרעב היה על כל פני הארץ ויפתח יוסף את כל אשר בהם וישבר למצרים ויחזק הרעב בארץ מצרים |
57 And all the earth they came Egypt towards to buy grain to Joseph for it was severe the famine in all the earth.
| וכל הארץ באו מצרימה לשבר אל יוסף כי חזק הרעב בכל הארץ |
