< Genesis 41 >
1 And it was from [the] end of two years days and Pharaoh [was] dreaming and there! [he was] standing at the River.
Na rĩrĩ, mĩaka ĩĩrĩ mĩgima yathira-rĩ, Firaũni akĩroota kĩroto: Akĩona arũgamĩte rũteere-inĩ rwa Rũũĩ rwa Nili;
2 And there! from the River [were] coming up seven cows good looking of appearance and fat of flesh and they grazed among the reed[s].
na rĩrĩ, gũkiumĩra ngʼombe mũgwanja njega na noru kuuma thĩinĩ wa rũũĩ rũu, na igĩitĩka kũrĩa nyeki ithanjĩ-inĩ.
3 And there! seven cows another [were] coming up after them from the River displeasing of appearance and thin of flesh and they stood beside the cows on [the] bank of the River.
Thuutha wacio rĩ, hakiumĩra ngʼombe ingĩ mũgwanja, njongʼi na hĩnju, kuuma rũũĩ rũu rwa Nili, na ikĩrũgama mwena-inĩ harĩa icio ingĩ ciarũgamĩte hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia rũũĩ.
4 And they ate the cows displeasing of appearance and [the] thin of flesh seven the cows good looking of appearance and fat and he awoke Pharaoh.
Na rĩrĩ, ngʼombe icio njongʼi na hĩnju ikĩrĩa ngʼombe iria mũgwanja njega na noru. Hĩndĩ ĩyo Firaũni akĩũrwo nĩ toro.
5 And he slept and he dreamed a second [time] and there! - seven ears of grain [were] coming up on a stalk one fat and good.
Ningĩ Firaũni agĩkoma rĩngĩ na akĩroota kĩroto gĩa keerĩ: Magira mũgwanja mega ma ngano, maiyũrĩte ngano, maakũraga kamũtĩ-inĩ kamwe ka ngano.
6 And there! seven ears of grain thin and scorched of an east wind [were] springing up after them.
Thuutha wamo gũgĩthethũka magira mangĩ mũgwanja ma ngano mahĩnju, mahaana ta macinĩtwo nĩ rũhuho rwa mwena wa irathĩro.
7 And they swallowed the ears of grain thin seven the ears of grain fat and full and he awoke Pharaoh and there! a dream.
Magira macio mahĩnju ma ngano makĩmeria magira marĩa mũgwanja maarĩ mega na maiyũrĩte ngano. Hĩndĩ ĩyo Firaũni akĩũrwo nĩ toro, agĩũkĩra agĩkora nĩ kũroota ekũrootaga.
8 And it was in the morning and it was troubled spirit his and he sent and he summoned all [the] diviner priests of Egypt and all wise [men] its and he recounted Pharaoh to them dream his and there not [was one who] interpreted them for Pharaoh.
Rũciinĩ agĩtangĩka meciiria, na nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩtũmanĩra andũ-ago othe na andũ arĩa oogĩ a Misiri. Firaũni akĩmeera irooto ciake, no gũtirĩ wao o na ũmwe wahotire kũmũtaũrĩra.
9 And he spoke [the] chief of the cup bearers with Pharaoh saying sins my I [am] bringing to remembrance this day.
Hĩndĩ ĩyo mũnene wa arĩa maamũtwaragĩra ndibei akĩĩra Firaũni atĩrĩ, “Ũmũthĩ nĩndaririkanio mahĩtia makwa.
10 Pharaoh he was angry towards servants his and he put me in [the] custody of [the] house of [the] commander of the bodyguards me and [the] chief of the bakers.
Hĩndĩ ĩmwe-rĩ, Firaũni nĩarakarĩtio nĩ ndungata ciake; na niĩ hamwe na mũnene wa arĩa athondeki mĩgate-rĩ, agĩtuohithia njeera nyũmba-inĩ ya mũnene wa arangĩri.
11 And we dreamed! a dream in a night one I and he each according to [the] interpretation of dream his we dreamed.
Ũtukũ ũmwe-rĩ, o ũmwe witũ akĩroota kĩroto, na o kĩroto kĩarĩ na ũtaũri wakĩo mwanya.
12 And [was] there with us a young man a Hebrew a slave of [the] commander of the bodyguards and we recounted to him and he interpreted for us dreams our each according to dream his he interpreted.
Na rĩrĩ, kũu njeera twarĩ na mwanake Mũhibirania, ndungata ya mũnene wa arangĩri. Na ithuĩ tũkĩmwĩra irooto ciitũ, nake agĩtũtaũrĩra; akĩhe o mũndũ ũtaũri wa kĩroto gĩake.
13 And it was just as he interpreted for us so it was me he restored to office my and him he hanged.
Namo maũndũ magĩkĩka o ta ũrĩa aatũtaũrĩire. Niĩ ngĩcookio wĩra-inĩ wakwa, nake mũndũ ũcio ũngĩ agĩcuurio mũtĩ igũrũ.”
14 And he sent Pharaoh and he summoned Joseph and people brought quickly him from the pit and he shaved and he changed clothes his and he came to Pharaoh.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Firaũni agĩtũmanĩra Jusufu, nake akĩrutwo kũu njeera narua. Na aarĩkia kwĩyenja na kũruta nguo iria arĩ nacio na gwĩkĩra ingĩ-rĩ, agĩthiĩ mbere ya Firaũni.
15 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph a dream I have dreamed and [is one who] interprets there not it and I I have heard on you saying you hear a dream to interpret it.
Nake Firaũni akĩĩra Jusufu atĩrĩ, “Ndĩrarootire kĩroto na gũtirĩ mũndũ ũrahota gũgĩtaũra. No nĩnjiguĩte gũkĩĩrwo atĩrĩ, wee ũngĩĩrwo kĩroto no ũhote gũgĩtaũra.”
16 And he answered Joseph Pharaoh saying apart from me God he will answer [the] welfare of Pharaoh.
Jusufu agĩcookeria Firaũni atĩrĩ, “Niĩ mwene ndingĩhota, no Ngai nĩekũhe Firaũni macookio marĩa arenda.”
17 And he spoke Pharaoh to Joseph in dream my if [was] I standing on [the] bank of the River.
Hĩndĩ ĩyo Firaũni akĩĩra Jusufu atĩrĩ, “Kĩroto-inĩ gĩakwa-rĩ, ndĩrarũgamĩte hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia Rũũĩ rwa Nili,
18 And there! from the River [were] coming up seven cows fat of flesh and good looking of form and they grazed among the reed[s].
rĩrĩa haroimĩrire ngʼombe mũgwanja njega na noru kuuma rũũĩ, na iraitĩka kũrĩa kũu ithanjĩ-inĩ.
19 And there! seven cows another [were] coming up after them weak and displeasing of form very and thin of flesh not I have seen like them in all [the] land of Egypt to badness.
Thuutha wacio kũracooka kũroimĩra ngʼombe ingĩ mũgwanja hinyaru, njongʼi mũno na hĩnju. Ndirĩ ndona ngʼombe njongʼi ta icio bũrũri-inĩ wothe wa Misiri.
20 And they ate the cows thin and displeasing seven the cows former fat.
Nacio ngʼombe icio hĩnju na njongʼi irarĩa ngʼombe iria mũgwanja noru iria iroimĩrĩte mbere.
21 And they went into inward part[s] their and not it was known that they had gone into inward part[s] their and appearance their [was] displeasing just as at the beginning and I awoke.
No rĩrĩ, o na ciarĩkia gũcirĩa-rĩ, gũtirĩ mũndũ ũngĩramenyire atĩ nĩirarĩĩte; tondũ ironekaga irĩ o njongʼi o ta mbere. Hĩndĩ ĩyo ndĩrokĩra.
22 And I saw in dream my and there! - seven ears of grain [were] coming up on a stalk one full and good.
“Ningĩ irooto-inĩ ciakwa-rĩ, nĩndĩronire magira mũgwanja mega ma ngano na maiyũrĩte ngano, magĩkũũra kamũtĩ-inĩ ka ngano.
23 And there! seven ears of grain withered thin scorched of an east wind [were] springing up after them.
Thuutha wamo, magira mangĩ mũgwanja marathethũka, marĩ mahoohu na macinĩtwo nĩ rũhuho rwa mwena wa irathĩro.
24 And they swallowed the ears of grain thin seven the ears of grain good and I said to the diviner priests and there not [was one who] told to me.
Namo magira macio mahĩnju marameria magira marĩa mũgwanja mega. Ndĩraheire andũ-ago ũhoro ũcio, no gũtirĩ o na ũmwe ũrahotire kũndaũrĩra irooto icio.”
25 And he said Joseph to Pharaoh [the] dream of Pharaoh [is] one it [that] which God [is] about to do he has told to Pharaoh.
Nake Jusufu akĩĩra Firaũni atĩrĩ, “Irooto cia Firaũni cierĩ no kĩroto kĩmwe. Ngai nĩaguũrĩirie Firaũni ũrĩa akiriĩ gwĩka.
26 Seven cows good [are] seven years they and seven the ears of grain good [are] seven years they [is] dream one it.
Ngʼombe iria mũgwanja njega nĩ mĩaka mũgwanja, na magira marĩa mũgwanja mega ma ngano nĩ mĩaka mũgwanja; kĩroto kĩu no kĩmwe.
27 And seven the cows thin and displeasing that were coming up after them [are] seven years they and seven the ears of grain empty scorched of the east wind they will be seven years of famine.
Nacio ngʼombe icio mũgwanja hĩnju na njongʼi iria cioimĩrire thuutha nĩ mĩaka mũgwanja, na no taguo magira marĩa mũgwanja matarĩ ngano macinĩtwo nĩ rũhuho rwa mwena wa irathĩro: ĩyo nĩ mĩaka mũgwanja ya ngʼaragu.
28 That [is] the word which I spoke to Pharaoh [that] which God [is] about to do he has shown Pharaoh.
“Na o ta ũrĩa ndeera Firaũni: Ngai nĩ oneetie Firaũni ũrĩa akiriĩ gwĩka.
29 There! seven years [are] about to come plenty great [will be] in all [the] land of Egypt.
Nĩgũgũkorwo na mĩaka mũgwanja ya bũthi mũnene bũrũri wothe wa Misiri,
30 And they will arise seven years of famine after them and it will be forgotten all the plenty in [the] land of Egypt and it will destroy the famine the land.
no nĩgũgũcooka kũrũmĩrĩrwo nĩ mĩaka mũgwanja ya ngʼaragu. Naguo bũthi ũcio wothe wa Misiri nĩũkariganĩra, nayo ngʼaragu nĩĩkananga bũrũri ũyũ.
31 And not it will be known the plenty in the land because of the famine that after thus for [will be] heavy it very.
Bũthi wa bũrũri ndũkaririkanwo, tondũ ngʼaragu ĩrĩa ĩgacooka kũgĩa nĩĩgakorwo ĩrĩ nene mũno.
32 And on [the] being repeated of the dream to Pharaoh two times for [is] certain the matter from with God and [is] hurrying God to do it.
Gĩtũmi kĩa Firaũni aheo kĩroto kĩu maita meerĩ, nĩ tondũ Ngai nĩatuĩte nĩegwĩka ũndũ ũcio, na ekũwĩka o narua.
33 And therefore let him see Pharaoh a man discerning and wise and let him set him over [the] land of Egypt.
“Rĩu Firaũni nĩacarie mũndũ ũũĩ gũkũũrana maũndũ na mũndũ mũũgĩ, amũtue mũrũgamĩrĩri wa bũrũri wa Misiri.
34 Let him act Pharaoh and let him appoint overseers over the land and he will take a fifth of [the] land of Egypt in seven [the] years of plenty.
O na ningĩ Firaũni nĩagĩthuure atabarĩri a bũrũri a kuoyaga gĩcunjĩ gĩa ithano kĩa magetha ma Misiri mĩaka-inĩ ĩyo mũgwanja ya bũthi.
35 And let them gather all [the] food of the years good that are coming these and let them store up grain under [the] hand of Pharaoh food in the cities and they will keep [it].
Nao nĩmacookanĩrĩrie irio icio ciothe cia mĩaka ĩyo mĩega ĩrooka, na ngano ĩyo ĩkorwo watho-inĩ wa Firaũni, ĩigwo matũũra-inĩ ĩrĩ irio.
36 And it will become the food a store for the land for seven [the] years of famine which they will be in [the] land of Egypt and not it will be cut off the land by the famine.
Nacio irio icio ciagĩrĩire kũigwo irĩ mũthiithũ wa bũrũri, ikaahũthĩrwo hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ya mĩaka mũgwanja ya ngʼaragu ĩrĩa ĩkaagĩa Misiri, nĩgeetha bũrũri ndũkanathũkio nĩ ngʼaragu ĩyo.”
37 And it was good the word in [the] eyes of Pharaoh and in [the] eyes of all servants his.
Firaũni na anene ake makĩona mũbango ũcio ũrĩ mwega.
38 And he said Pharaoh to servants his ¿ has he been found like this one a man whom [the] spirit of God [is] in him.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Firaũni akĩmooria atĩrĩ, “No tuone mũndũ ũngĩ ta ũyũ, mũndũ ũrĩ na roho wa Ngai thĩinĩ wake?”
39 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph after has made know God you all this there not [is] a discerning [person] and a wise [person] like you.
Firaũni agĩkĩĩra Jusufu atĩrĩ, “Kuona atĩ Ngai nĩakũmenyithĩtie maũndũ maya mothe-rĩ, gũtirĩ mũndũ ũngĩ ũngĩkũũrana maũndũ na mũũgĩ ta we.
40 You you will be over house my and on mouth your it will kiss all people my only the throne I will be great more than you.
Wee nĩwe ũkũrũgamĩrĩra nyũmba yakwa ya ũthamaki, na andũ akwa othe marĩathĩkagĩra watho waku. Ũndũ ngũgũkĩra naguo no atĩrĩ, niĩ nĩ niĩ Mũthamaki.”
41 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph see I set you over all [the] land of Egypt.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Firaũni akĩĩra Jusufu atĩrĩ, “Kuuma rĩu nĩndagũtua mũrũgamĩrĩri wa bũrũri wothe wa Misiri.”
42 And he removed Pharaoh signet-ring his from on hand his and he set it on [the] hand of Joseph and he clothed him clothes of fine linen and he put [the] chain of gold on neck his.
Ningĩ Firaũni akĩruta gĩcũhĩ gĩake kĩa mũhũũri kuuma kĩara gĩake agĩgĩĩkĩra kĩara-inĩ kĩa Jusufu. Agĩcooka akĩmũhumba nguo cia gatani njega, na kĩrengeeri gĩa thahabu ngingo.
43 And he made ride him in [the] chariot of the second which [belonged] to him and they called out before him bend [the] knee and he put him over all [the] land of Egypt.
Ningĩ agĩtũma akuuo na ngaari yake ya ita, arĩ mũndũ wa keerĩ harĩ we wathani-inĩ, nao andũ magĩthiĩ makĩanagĩrĩra marĩ mbere yake atĩrĩ, “Eherai njĩra-inĩ!” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Firaũni agĩtua Jusufu mũrũgamĩrĩri wa bũrũri wothe wa Misiri.
44 And he said Pharaoh to Joseph I [am] Pharaoh and apart from you not he will lift up anyone hand his and foot his in all [the] land of Egypt.
Ningĩ Firaũni akĩĩra Jusufu atĩrĩ, “Nĩ niĩ Firaũni, no rĩrĩ, hatarĩ na rũtha rwaku, gũtirĩ mũndũ ũgeeka ũndũ atarĩ na rũtha rwaku gũkũ Misiri guothe.”
45 And he called Pharaoh [the] name of Joseph Zaphenath-Paneah and he gave to him Asenath [the] daughter of Poti-phera [the] priest of On to a wife and he went out Joseph over [the] land of Egypt.
Nake Firaũni agĩĩta Jusufu Zafenathu-Panea, na akĩmũhe Asenathu mwarĩ wa Potifera, mũthĩnjĩri-ngai wa Onu, atuĩke mũtumia wake. Nake Jusufu agĩtuĩkania bũrũri wothe wa Misiri.
46 And Joseph [was] a son of thirty year[s] when stood he before Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and he went out Joseph from to before Pharaoh and he passed in all [the] land of Egypt.
Jusufu aarĩ na mĩaka mĩrongo ĩtatũ rĩrĩa atoonyire ũtungata-inĩ wa Firaũni mũthamaki wa Misiri. Nake Jusufu akĩehera mbere ya Firaũni, agĩtuĩkania bũrũri wothe wa Misiri.
47 And it produced the land in seven [the] years of plenty to handfuls.
Na rĩrĩ, ihinda rĩa mĩaka ĩyo mũgwanja ya bũthi, bũrũri ũcio ũgĩciara maciaro maingĩ mũno.
48 And he gathered all [the] food of - seven [the] years which they were in [the] land of Egypt and he put food in the cities [the] food of [the] field[s] of the city which [was] around it he put in [the] midst of it.
Nake Jusufu agĩcookanĩrĩria irio ciothe cia bũrũri wa Misiri iria ciagĩire kuo mĩaka ĩyo mũgwanja ya bũthi, na agĩciigithia matũũra-inĩ marĩa manene. O itũũra inene akaiga irio iria ciakũragio mĩgũnda-inĩ ĩrĩa yarĩthiũrũrũkĩirie.
49 And he stored up Joseph grain like [the] sand of the sea much very until that he ceased to measure [it] for there not [was] a measure.
Jusufu agĩkĩigithia ngano nyingĩ mũno, o ta mũthanga wa iria-inĩ; yarĩ nyingĩ mũno, o nginya agĩtiga kũiga maandĩko ma mũigana wayo tondũ ndĩngĩathimĩkire.
50 And to Joseph it was born two sons before it came [the] year of famine whom she bore to him Asenath [the] daughter of Poti-phera [the] priest of On.
Mĩaka ya ngʼaragu ĩtaanakinya-rĩ, Jusufu nĩaciarĩirwo tũhĩĩ twĩrĩ nĩ Asenathu mwarĩ wa Potifera, mũthĩnjĩri-ngai wa Onu.
51 And he called Joseph [the] name of the firstborn Manasseh for he has made forget me God all trouble my and all [the] household of father my.
Jusufu agĩĩta irigithathi rĩake Manase, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Nĩ tondũ Ngai nĩatũmĩte ndiganĩrwo nĩ thĩĩna wakwa wothe na nyũmba ya baba yothe.”
52 And [the] name of the second he called Ephraim for he has made fruitful me God in [the] land of affliction my.
Nako kahĩĩ ga keerĩ, agĩgeeta Efiraimu, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Nĩ tondũ Ngai nĩatũmĩte ngĩe na maciaro bũrũri-inĩ wa mĩnyamaro yakwa.”
53 And they came to an end seven [the] years of plenty which it was in [the] land of Egypt.
Nayo mĩaka mũgwanja ya bũthi kũu Misiri ĩgĩthira,
54 And they began seven [the] years of famine to come just as he had said Joseph and it was a famine in all the lands and in all [the] land of Egypt it was food.
na mĩaka mũgwanja ya ngʼaragu ĩkĩambĩrĩria, o ta ũrĩa Jusufu oigĩte. Kwarĩ na ngʼaragu mabũrũri-inĩ marĩa mangĩ mothe, no bũrũri wa Misiri wothe warĩ na irio.
55 And it was hungry all [the] land of Egypt and it cried out the people to Pharaoh for food and he said Pharaoh to all Egypt go to Joseph [that] which he will say to you you will do.
Na rĩrĩa andũ a Misiri othe maambĩrĩirie kũigua ngʼaragu-rĩ, magĩkaĩra Firaũni amahe irio. Nake Firaũni akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Thiĩi kũrĩ Jusufu na mwĩke ũrĩa ekũmwĩra.”
56 And the famine it was over all [the] face of the land and he opened Joseph all that [was] in them and he bought grain to Egypt and it was severe the famine in [the] land of Egypt.
Rĩrĩa ngʼaragu yagĩire bũrũri wothe-rĩ, Jusufu akĩhingũra makũmbĩ ma irio, akĩenderia andũ a Misiri ngano, nĩgũkorwo ngʼaragu yarĩ nene mũno Misiri guothe.
57 And all the earth they came Egypt towards to buy grain to Joseph for it was severe the famine in all the earth.
Namo mabũrũri mothe magĩũka Misiri kũrĩ Jusufu kũgũra ngano, tondũ ngʼaragu ĩyo yarĩ nene mũno thĩ yothe.
