Genesis 37
1 And he dwelt Jacob in [the] land of [the] sojournings of father his in [the] land of Canaan.
૧યાકૂબ તેનો પિતા જે દેશમાં રહેતો હતો તેમાં, એટલે કનાન દેશમાં રહ્યો.
2 These - [are] [the] accounts of Jacob Joseph [was] a son of seven-teen year[s] he was shepherding with brothers his the flock and he [was] a youth with [the] sons of Bilhah and with [the] sons of Zilpah [the] wives of father his and he brought Joseph report their bad to father their.
૨યાકૂબના વંશ સંબંધિત આ વૃતાંત છે. યૂસફ સત્તર વર્ષનો જુવાન થયો, ત્યારે તે તેના ભાઈઓની સાથે ઘેટાંબકરાં સાચવતો હતો. તે તેના પિતાની પત્નીઓ બિલ્હા તથા ઝિલ્પાના દીકરાઓની સાથે હતો. યૂસફ તેઓના દુરાચારની જાણ તેના પિતાને કરતો રહેતો હતો.
3 And Israel he loved Joseph more than all sons his for [was] a son of old age he for him and he made for him a long garment of palms and soles.
૩હવે ઇઝરાયલ તેના સર્વ દીકરાઓ કરતાં યૂસફ પર વિશેષ પ્રેમ રાખતો હતો, કેમ કે તે તેના વૃદ્ધાવસ્થાનો દીકરો હતો. તેણે તેને સારુ રંગબેરંગી ઝભ્ભો સીવડાવ્યો.
4 And they saw brothers his that him he loved father their more than all brothers his and they hated him and not they were able to speak to him to welfare.
૪તેના ભાઈઓએ જાણ્યું કે તેઓનો પિતા તેના તમામ દીકરાઓમાંથી યૂસફ પર વિશેષ પ્રેમ કરે છે. તેથી તેઓ તેને નફરત કરતા હતા અને તેની સાથે શુદ્ધ હૃદયથી વાત કરતા નહોતા.
5 And he dreamed Joseph a dream and he told [it] to brothers his and they increased again to hate him.
૫યૂસફને સ્વપ્ન આવ્યું અને તેણે તેના ભાઈઓને તેના વિષે કહી સંભળાવ્યું. તેથી તેઓ તેને વધારે નફરત કરવા લાગ્યા.
6 And he said to them hear please the dream this which I have dreamed.
૬તેણે તેઓને કહ્યું, “મેં જે સ્વપ્નમાં જોયું છે તે મહેરબાની કરી સાંભળો.”
7 And there! we [were] binding sheaves in [the] middle of the field and there! it arose sheaf my and also it stood upright and there! they gathered round sheaves your and they bowed down to sheaf my.
૭આપણે ખેતરમાં અનાજની પૂળીઓ બાંધતા હતા. ત્યારે મારી પૂળી ઊભી થઈ. તેની સામે તમારી પૂળીઓ ચારેતરફ ઊભી રહી. તેઓ મારી પૂળીની આગળ નમી.”
8 And they said to him brothers his ¿ really will you reign over us or? certainly will you rule over us and they increased again to hate him on dreams his and on words his.
૮તેના ભાઈઓએ તેને કહ્યું, “શું તું ખરેખર અમારા પર રાજ કરશે? શું તું ખરેખર અમારા પર અધિકાર ચલાવશે? “તેઓ તેના સ્વપ્નને લીધે તથા તેની વાતને લીધે તેના પર વધારે નફરત કરવા લાગ્યા.
9 And he dreamed again a dream another and he recounted it to brothers his and he said here! I have dreamed a dream again and there! the sun and the moon and one [plus] ten stars [were] bowing down to me.
૯તેને ફરી બીજું સ્વપ્ન આવ્યું. તે વિષે તેણે તેના ભાઈઓને કહ્યું, “જુઓ, મને બીજું એક સ્વપ્ન આવ્યું: સૂર્ય, ચંદ્ર તથા અગિયાર તારાઓ મારી આગળ નમ્યાં.”
10 And he recounted [it] to father his and to brothers his and he rebuked him father his and he said to him what? [is] the dream this which you have dreamed ¿ really will we come I and mother your and brothers your to bow down to you [the] ground towards.
૧૦જેવું તેણે તેના ભાઈઓને કહ્યું તેવું તેણે તેના પિતાને પણ કહ્યું અને તેના પિતાએ તેને ધમકાવ્યો. તેણે તેને કહ્યું, “જે સ્વપ્ન તને આવ્યું તે શું છે? તારી આગળ જમીન સુધી નમવાને હું, તારી માતા તથા તારા ભાઈઓ શું ખરેખર આવીશું?”
11 And they were jealous of him brothers his and father his he kept the matter.
૧૧તેના ભાઈઓને તેના પર અદેખાઈ આવી, પણ તેના પિતાએ તે વાત મનમાં રાખી.
12 And they went brothers his to pasture [the] flock of father their at Shechem.
૧૨તેના ભાઈઓ તેઓના પિતાના ટોળાં ચરાવવાને શખેમમાં ગયા.
13 And he said Israel to Joseph ¿ not [are] brothers your pasturing at Shechem come! and I will send you to them and he said to him here [am] I.
૧૩ઇઝરાયલે યૂસફને કહ્યું, “શું તારા ભાઈઓ શખેમમાં ઘેટાંબકરાં ચરાવતા નથી? હું તને તેઓની પાસે મોકલું છું.” યૂસફે તેને કહ્યું, “હું તૈયાર છું.”
14 And he said to him go please see [the] welfare of brothers your and [the] welfare of the flock and bring to me word and he sent him from [the] valley of Hebron and he came Shechem towards.
૧૪તેણે તેને કહ્યું, “હવે જા, તારા ભાઈઓ તથા ટોળાં સારાં છે કે નહિ તે જો અને મારી પાસે ખબર લઈ આવ.” પછી યાકૂબે તેને હેબ્રોનની ખીણમાંથી રવાના કર્યો અને યૂસફ શખેમમાં ગયો.
15 And he found him a man and there! [he was] wandering in the open country and he asked him the man saying what? are you seeking.
૧૫જુઓ, યૂસફ ખેતરમાં ભટકતો હતો એટલામાં એક માણસ તેને મળ્યો. તે માણસે તેને પૂછ્યું, “તું કોને શોધે છે?”
16 And he said brothers my I [am] seeking tell! please to me where? [are] they pasturing.
૧૬યૂસફે કહ્યું, “હું મારા ભાઈઓને શોધું છું. કૃપા કરી, મને કહે કે, તેઓ અમારા પશુઓનાં ટોળાંને ક્યાં ચરાવે છે?”
17 And he said the man they have departed from here for I heard [them] saying let us go Dothan towards and he went Joseph after brothers his and he found them at Dothan.
૧૭તે માણસે કહ્યું, “તેઓ દોથાન તરફ ગયા છે, કેમ કે મેં તેઓને એવું કહેતાં સાંભળ્યાં હતા કે, “ચાલો આપણે દોથાન જઈએ.” યૂસફે પોતાના ભાઈઓની પાછળ જઈને દોથાનમાં તેઓને શોધી કાઢ્યાં.
18 And they saw him from a distance and just before he drew near to them and they dealt deceptively with him to kill him.
૧૮તેઓએ તેને દૂરથી જોયો અને તેઓની પાસે તે આવી પહોંચે તે અગાઉ તેને મારી નાખવાને પેંતરો રચ્યો.
19 And they said each to brother his there! [the] master of dreams this [is] coming.
૧૯તેના ભાઈઓએ એકબીજાને કહ્યું, “જુઓ, આ સ્વપ્નપતિ આવી રહ્યો છે.
20 And now - come and let us kill him and let us throw him in one of the pits and we will say an animal wild it has eaten him and we may see what? will be dreams his.
૨૦હવે ચાલો, આપણે તેને મારી નાખીને કોઈએક ખાડામાં નાખી દઈએ. પછી આપણે જાહેર કરીશું કે, ‘કોઈ જંગલી પશુ તેને ખાઈ ગયું છે.’ પછી તેના સ્વપ્નનું શું થાય છે તે આપણે જોઈશું.”
21 And he heard Reuben and he rescued him from hand their and he said not let us strike him life.
૨૧રુબેને તે સાંભળ્યું અને ભાઈઓના હાથમાંથી તેણે તેને છોડાવ્યો. તેણે કહ્યું, “આપણે તેનો જીવ લેવો નથી.”
22 And he said to them - Reuben may not you shed blood throw him into the pit this which [is] in the wilderness and a hand may not you stretch out on him so as to rescue him from hand their to restore him to father his.
૨૨તેઓના હાથમાંથી તેને છોડાવીને તેના પિતાને સોંપવા માટે રુબેને તેઓને કહ્યું, “તેનું લોહી ન વહેવડાવીએ. પણ આ અરણ્યમાં જે ખાડો છે તેમાં તેને નાખી દઈએ; પણ તેને કશી ઈજા કરીએ નહિ.”
23 And it was just when he came Joseph to brothers his and they stripped Joseph long garment his [the] long garment of the palms and soles which [was] on him.
૨૩યૂસફ જયારે તેના ભાઈઓની પાસે પહોંચ્યો, ત્યારે તેઓએ તેના અંગ પરનો ઝભ્ભો ઝૂંટવી લીધો.
24 And they took him and they threw him the pit towards and the pit [was] empty there not in it [was] water.
૨૪તેઓએ તેને પકડીને ખાડામાં નાખી દીધો. પણ તે ખાડો ખાલી હતો અને તેમાં પાણી ન હતું.
25 And they sat down to eat bread and they lifted up eyes their and they saw and there! a caravan of Ishmaelites [was] coming from Gilead and camels their [were] carrying spice and balm and myrrh traveling to take [them] down Egypt towards.
૨૫પછી તેઓ ભોજન કરવા માટે નીચે બેઠા. તેઓએ તેમની આંખો ઊંચી કરીને જોયું, તો, ઇશ્માએલીઓનો સંઘ ગિલ્યાદથી આવતો હતો. પોતાની સાથે સુગંધીઓ, ઔષધ તથા બોળથી લાદેલાં ઊંટોને લઈને તેઓ મિસર દેશમાં જતા હતા.
26 And he said Judah to brothers his what? [is the] profit if we will kill brother our and we will conceal blood his.
૨૬યહૂદાએ તેના ભાઈઓને કહ્યું, “જો આપણે આપણા ભાઈને મારી નાખીને તેનું લોહી સંતાડી દઈએ તો તેથી આપણને શું મળે?
27 Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites and hand our may not it be on him for [is] brother our flesh our he and they listened brothers his.
૨૭ચાલો, આપણે તેને ઇશ્માએલીઓને વેચી દઈએ અને આપણે તેને કશું નુકસાન કરીએ નહિ. કેમ કે તે આપણો ભાઈ તથા આપણા કુટુંબનો છે.” તેના ભાઈઓએ તેનું કહેવું સ્વીકાર્યું.
28 And they passed by men Midianite[s] traders and they drew and they brought up Joseph from the pit and they sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty silver and they brought Joseph Egypt towards.
૨૮મિદ્યાની વેપારીઓ તેઓની પાસેથી પસાર થઈને જતા હતા ત્યારે યૂસફના ભાઈઓએ તેને ખાડામાંથી બહાર લાવીને વીસ ચાંદીના સિક્કામાં યૂસફને ઇશ્માએલીઓને વેચી દીધો. ઇશ્માએલીઓ મિસરમાં લઈ ગયા.
29 And he returned Reuben to the pit and there! not Joseph [was] in the pit and he tore clothes his.
૨૯રુબેન પાછો ખાડાની પાસે આવ્યો અને જુઓ, યૂસફ તો ખાડામાં નહોતો. તેણે તેનાં વસ્ત્રો ફાડીને શોક પ્રદર્શિત કર્યો.
30 And he returned to brothers his and he said the boy not [is] he and I where? [am] I going.
૩૦તેણે તેના ભાઈઓની પાસે પાછા આવીને કહ્યું, “યુસફ ક્યાં છે? અને હું ક્યાં જાઉં?”
31 And they took [the] long garment of Joseph and they slaughtered a male goat of goats and they dipped the long garment in the blood.
૩૧પછી તેઓએ એક બકરું કાપ્યું અને યૂસફના ઝભ્ભાને લઈને તેના લોહીમાં પલાળ્યો.
32 And they sent [the] long garment of the palms and soles and they brought [it] to father their and they said this we have found investigate please ¿ [the] long garment of son your [is] it or? not.
૩૨પછી તેઓ તે ઝભ્ભાને તેના પિતાની પાસે લાવ્યા અને તે બતાવીને કહ્યું, “આ ઝભ્ભો અમને મળ્યો છે. કૃપા કરી ઓળખ, તે તારા દીકરાનો ઝભ્ભો છે કે નહિ?”
33 And he recognized it and he said [it is] [the] long garment of son my an animal wild it has eaten him certainly he has been torn to pieces Joseph.
૩૩યાકૂબે તે ઓળખીને કહ્યું, “તે મારા દીકરાનો ઝભ્ભો છે. કોઈ જંગલી પશુએ તેને ફાડી ખાધો છે. ચોક્કસ યૂસફને ફાડી ખાવામાં આવ્યો છે.”
34 And he tore Jacob clothes his and he put sackcloth on loins his and he mourned on son his days many.
૩૪યાકૂબે તેનાં વસ્ત્રો ફાડયાં અને તેની કમરે ટાટ બાંધ્યું. તેણે તેના દીકરાને માટે ઘણાં દિવસો સુધી શોક કર્યો.
35 And they arose all sons his and all daughters his to comfort him and he refused to be comforted and he said that I will go down to son my mourning Sheol towards and he wept for him father his. (Sheol h7585)
૩૫તેના સર્વ દીકરાઓ તથા તેની સર્વ દીકરીઓ તેને દિલાસો આપવા માટે આવીને ઊભા રહ્યાં. પણ તેણે દિલાસો પામવાની ના પાડી. તેણે કહ્યું, “હું નિશ્ચે શોક કરતો શેઓલમાં મારા દીકરાની પાસે જઈશ.” તેનો પિતા તેને સારુ રડ્યો. (Sheol h7585)
36 (And the Medanites *L(E)*) they sold him into Egypt to Potiphar an official of Pharaoh [the] commander of the bodyguards.
૩૬પેલા મિદ્યાનીઓએ યૂસફને મિસરમાં ફારુનના રક્ષકોના સરદાર પોટીફારને વેચી દીધો.
