Genesis 32
1 And Jacob he went to way his and they met him [the] angels of God.
याकूब पनि आफ्नो बाटो लागे, र परमेश्वरका दूतहरूले तिनीसित भेट गरे ।
2 And he said Jacob just when he saw them [is] [the] camp of God this and he called [the] name of the place that Mahanaim.
याकूबले तिनीहरूलाई देखेपछि तिनले भने, “यो त परमेश्वरको शिविर हो ।” त्यसैले तिनले त्यस ठाउँको नाउँ महनोम राखे ।
3 And he sent Jacob messengers before him to Esau brother his [the] land of towards Seir [the] region of Edom.
याकूबले एदोमको क्षेत्रमा पर्ने सेइर देशमा आफ्ना दाजु एसावकहाँ आफूभन्दा अगिअगि सन्देशवाहकहरू पठाए ।
4 And he commanded them saying thus you will say! to lord my to Esau thus he says servant your Jacob with Laban I have sojourned and I have delayed until now.
तिनले तिनीहरूलाई यसो भनी आज्ञा दिए, “तिमीहरूले मेरा मालिक एसावलाई यसो भन्नेछौः तपाईंका दास याकूब यसो भन्छन्, 'म लाबानसित बस्दै आएकोले अहिलेसम्म आउन ढिलो भएको हो ।
5 And it be[longs] to me ox[en] and donkey[s] flock[s] and [male] servant[s] and female servant[s] and I have sent! to tell to lord my to find favor in view your.
मेरा गोरुहरू, गधाहरू, बगालहरू, कमारा-कमारीहरू छन् । तपाईंको दृष्टिमा मैले निगाह पाउन सकूँ भनी मैले मेरा मालिकलाई यो खबर पठाएको छु' ।”
6 And they returned the messengers to Jacob saying we went to brother your to Esau and also [he is] coming to meet you and four hundred man [are] with him.
याकूबकहाँ फर्की सन्देशवाहकहरूले यसो भने, “हामी तपाईंका दाजु एसावकहाँ गयौँ । उहाँ चार सय जना मानिससहित तपाईंलाई भेट्न आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ ।”
7 And he was afraid Jacob exceedingly and it was distress to him and he divided the people which [was] with him and the flock and the herd and the camels into two camps.
तब याकूब ज्यादै भयभीत भए र आत्तिए । त्यसैले तिनले आफूसित भएका मानिसहरू, बगालहरू, बथानहरू र ऊँटहरूलाई दल-दल गरी दुई भागमा विभाजन गरे ।
8 And he said if he will come Esau to the camp one and he will attack it and it will become the camp which remains an escaped remnant.
तिनले भने, “एसावले आएर एउटा दललाई अाक्रमण गरे भने बाँकी रहेको दल भाग्नेछ ।
9 And he said Jacob O God of father my Abraham and [the] God of father my Isaac O Yahweh who said to me return to land your and to kindred your so let me do good with you.
याकूबले भने, “मेरा पिता अब्राहामका परमेश्वर, मेरा पिता इसहाकका परमेश्वर यहोवेले मलाई भन्नुभयो, 'तेरो देश र तेरो कुटुम्बकहाँ फर्केर जा, म तेरो उन्नति गराउनेछु ।'
10 I am [too] insignificant for all the covenant loyalti and for all the faithfulness which you have done with servant your for with staff my I passed over the Jordan this and now I have become two camps.
तपाईंका दासको निम्ति तपाईंले गर्नुभएका करारको विश्वासयोग्यता र भरोसाका सबै कार्यको निम्ति म योग्यको छैनँ । किनकि यही लौरो लिएर मात्र मैले यर्दन तरेँ, र अहिले मेरा दुईवटा दल छन् ।
11 Deliver me please from [the] hand of brother my from [the] hand of Esau for [am] fearing I him lest he should come and he will attack me mother with children.
कृपया, मलाई मेरा दाजु एसावको हातबाट छुटकारा दिनुहोस् किनकि तिनी आएर मलगायत मेरी पत्नीहरू र छोराछोरीहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्छन् कि भनेर म तिनीदेखि डराएको छु ।
12 And you you have said certainly I will do good with you and I will make offspring your like [the] sand of the sea which not it will be counted from multitude.
तर तपाईंले भन्नुभयो, 'निश्चय नै, म तेरो उन्नति गराउनेछु । म तेरा सन्तानहरूलाई गन्नै नसकिने गरी समुद्रको बालुवासरह तुल्याउनेछु' ।”
13 And he stayed [the] night there in the night that and he took some of which came in hand his a gift for Esau brother his.
त्यस रात याकूब त्यहीँ बसे । आफ्ना दाजु एसावलाई उपहारस्वरूप दिनलाई तिनले आफूसित भएका केही थोकहरू अलग गरे जुन यिनै थिएः
14 Female goats two hundred and male goats twenty ewes two hundred and rams twenty.
दुई सयवटा बाख्री, बिसवटा बोका,
15 Camels suckling and young their thirty cows forty and bulls ten female donkeys twenty and male donkeys ten.
तिसवटा दुध दिने ऊँट र तिनीहरूका बच्चा, चालिसवटा गाई र दसवटा साँढे, बिसवटा गधैनी र दसवटा गधा ।
16 And he gave [them] in [the] hand of servants his herd herd to only it and he said to servants his pass over before me and a space you will put between a herd and between a herd.
तिनले बथान-बथान गरी यी सबै आफ्ना कमाराहरूको जिम्मा लगाइदिए । तिनले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “मेरो अगिअगि जाओ र हरेक बथानको बिचमा खाली ठाउँ राख ।”
17 And he commanded the first saying that he will meet you Esau brother my and he will ask you saying [belong] to whom? you and where? are you going and [belong] to whom? these [animals] before you.
तिनले पहिलो कमारोलाई यसो भन्दै निर्देशन दिए, “मेरा दाजु एसावले तँलाई भेटेर 'तँ कसको होस्? तँ कहाँ जाँदै छस्? तेरो अगिअगि आएका यी पशुहरू कसका हुन्? भनेर सोधे भने
18 And you will say to servant your to Jacob [is] a gift it [which has] been sent to lord my to Esau and there! also he [is] behind us.
तैँले यसो भन्, 'यी तपाईंका दास याकूबका हुन् । यी मेरा मालिक याकूबलाई उपहारस्वरूप पठाइएका हुन् । हेर्नुहोस्, उहाँ पनि हाम्रो पछिपछि आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ' ।”
19 And he commanded both the second as well as the third as well as all who were going behind the herds saying according to the manner this you will speak! to Esau when find you him.
दोस्रो दल, तेस्रो दल अनि बगालहरूको पछिपछि लाग्ने सबै मानिसलाई पनि याकूबले निर्देशन दिए । तिनले भने, “तिमीहरूले एसावलाई भेट्दा उही कुरो भन्नू ।
20 And you will say also there! servant your Jacob [is] behind us for he said I will cover face his by the gift that is going before me and after thus I will see face his perhaps he will lift up face my.
तिमीहरूले यसो पनि भन्नू, 'तपाईंका दास याकूब हाम्रो पछिपछि आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ' ।” किनकि तिनले यस्तो सोचे, “मैले मेरो अगिअगि पठाएका उपहारहरूले म तिनलाई खुसी पार्नेछु । त्यसपछि मैले तिनलाई भेट्दा सायद तिनले मलाई स्वीकार गर्नेछन् ।”
21 And it passed on the gift on face his and he [was] staying [the] night in the night that in the camp.
त्यसैले उपहारहरू तिनको अगिअगि पठाइए । तिनी आफैचाहिँ त्यस रात शिविरमा नै बसे ।
22 And he rose - in the night that and he took [the] two wives his and [the] two maidservants his and one [plus] ten sons his and he passed over [the] ford of Jabbok.
रातमा याकूब निद्राबाट ब्युँझे । आफ्ना दुई पत्नी, तिनीहरूका कमारीहरू र एघार जना छोरा लिएर तिनी प्रस्थान गरे । तिनले तिनीहरूलाई यब्बोक खोला पारि पठाए ।
23 And he took them and he sent over them the wadi and he sent over [that] which [belonged] to him.
यसरी तिनले आफ्ना सबै सम्पत्ति खोला पारि पठाए ।
24 And he remained Jacob to only him and he wrestled a man with him until came up the dawn.
याकूब एक्लै रहे, र एक जना मानिसले तिनीसित सूर्योदय नभएसम्म कुस्ती खेले ।
25 And he saw that not he prevailed to him and he touched [the] socket of thigh his and it was dislocated [the] socket of [the] thigh of Jacob when wrestled he with him.
ती मानिसले याकूबलाई जित्न नसक्ने देखेपछि तिनले याकूबको कम्मरको खोक्रो भागमा प्रहार गरे । याकूब तिनीसित कुस्ती खेल्दा तिनको कम्मरको गेडी फुस्क्यो ।
26 And he said let go me for it has come up the dawn and he said not I will let go you that except you have blessed me.
ती मानिसले भने, “मलाई जान देऊ किनकि उज्यालो हुँदै छ ।” याकूबले भने, “तपाईंले मलाई आशिष् नदिउञ्जेलसम्म म तपाईंलाई जान दिन्नँ ।”
27 And he said to him what? [is] name your and he said Jacob.
ती मानिसले तिनलाई भने, “तिम्रो नाउँ के हो?” याकूबले जवाफ दिए, “याकूब ।”
28 And he said not Jacob it will be called again name your that except Israel for you have struggled with God and with people and you have prevailed.
ती मानिसले भने, “अबदेखि उसो तिम्रो नाउँ याकूब नभई इस्राएल हुनेछ । किनकि तिमीले परमेश्वर र मानिसहरूसित कुस्ती खेली जित हासिल गरेका छौ ।”
29 And he asked Jacob and he said tell! please name your and he said why? this do you ask to name my and he blessed him there.
याकूबले तिनलाई सोधे, “कृपया, मलाई तपाईंको नाउँ बताइदिनुहोस् ।” तिनले भने, “किन तिमी मेरो नाउँ सोध्छौ?” त्यसपछि त्यहाँ तिनले याकूबलाई आशिष् दिए ।
30 And he called Jacob [the] name of the place Peniel for I have seen God face to face and it has been delivered life my.
याकूबले त्यस ठाउँको नाउँ पनीएल राखे किनकि तिनले भने, “मैले परमेश्वरलाई आमने-सामने देखेर पनि मेरो ज्यान जोगिएको छ ।”
31 And it rose to him the sun just when he passed over Penuel and he [was] limping on thigh his.
याकूबले पनीएल पार गर्दा सूर्योदय भइसकेको थियो । तिनको कम्मरको कारणले गर्दा तिनी खोच्याएर हिँड्दै थिए ।
32 There-fore not they eat [the] people of Israel [the] sinew of the tendon which [is] on [the] socket of the thigh until the day this for he touched [the] socket of [the] thigh of Jacob [the] sinew of the tendon.
यसैकारण आजको दिनसम्म इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले कम्मरको नसा खाँदैनन् किनकि ती मानिसले याकूबको कम्मरको गेडी फुस्काउँदा ती नसाहरूमा चोट पुर्याएका थिए ।
