< Genesis 31 >
1 And he heard [the] words of [the] sons of Laban saying he has taken Jacob all that [belonged] to father our and from [that] which [belonged] to father our he has acquired all the abundance this.
Tedae Laban ca rhoek kah olka la, “Jakob loh a pa koe te boeih a loh dongah hekah thangpomnah boeih he khaw a pa koe ni hlawp a bawn,” a ti uh te a yaak.
2 And he saw Jacob [the] face of Laban and there! not [was] he with him as yesterday three days ago.
Te phoeiah Laban kah maelhmai te Jakob loh a hmuh vaengah hlaem hlaemvai kah bangla anih taengah om pawh.
3 And he said Yahweh to Jacob return to [the] land of fathers your and to kindred your so I may be with you.
Tedae BOEIPA loh Jakob te, “Na pa rhoek kah khohmuen neh na pacaboeina taengla bal ngawn lamtah nang taengah ka om bit ni,” a ti nah.
4 And he sent Jacob and he summoned Rachel and Leah the field to flock his.
Te dongah Jakob loh Rakhel neh Leah te a tah tih kohong kah a boiva te a khue.
5 And he said to them [am] seeing I [the] face of father your that not [is] he to me as yesterday three days ago and [the] God of father my he has been with me.
Te phoeiah amih te, “Na pa maelhmai te ka hmuh vaengah, hlaem hlaemvai vaengkah bangla kai taengah anih om pawt cakhaw a pa kah Pathen loh kai taengah om.
6 And you you know that with all strength my I have served father your.
Tahae ah ka thadueng boeih neh na pa taengah ka thohtat te na ming uh.
7 And father your he has deceived me and he has changed wage[s] my ten times and not he has permitted him God to do harm with me.
Na pa khaw kai taengah omsaa tih ka thapang te voei rha la a hoilae. Tedae kai he thae sak ham tah Pathen loh anih a paek moenih.
8 If thus he said speckled [ones] it will be wage[s] your and they bore all the flock speckled [ones] and if thus he said striped [ones] it will be wage[s] your and they bore all the flock striped [ones].
Rhikrhak te nang kah thapang la om saeh a ti van hatah boiva te khaw rhikrhak la boeih thang tih a rhangcam te nang kah thapang la om saeh a ti van hatah boiva te a rhangcam la boeih thang.
9 And he has taken away God [the] livestock of father your and he has given [it] to me.
Tedae na pa kah boiva te Pathen long ni a lat tih kai taengah m'paek.
10 And it was at [the] time mated the flock and I lifted up eyes my and I saw in a dream and there! the male goats which were going up on the flock [were] striped speckled and mottled.
Boiva te a pa a cuk tue a pha coeng tih ka mik te ka huel. Mueimang ah ka hmuh tih kikong loh a caeh thil boiva tah rhangcam, rhikrhak neh dikdek la om he.
11 And he said to me [the] angel of God in a dream O Jacob and I said here [am] I.
Te phoeiah Pathen kah puencawn loh kai te ka mang ah, 'Jakob,” a ti tih, “Kai ni he,” ka ti nah.
12 And he said lift up please eyes your and see all the male goats which are going up on the flock [are] striped speckled and mottled for I have seen all that Laban [is] doing to you.
Te dongah, “Na mik huel lamtah tahae kah boiva a rhangcam, rhikrhak neh dikdek taengah aka cu kikong rhoek boeih ke so lah. Laban loh nang taengah a saii boeih te ka hmuh coeng.
13 I [am] the God of Beth-el where you anointed there a pillar where you vowed to me there a vow now arise go out from the land this and return to [the] land of kindred your.
Kai tah kaam te na koelh tih kai taengah olcaeng neh na caeng vaengkah te Bethel Pathen ni. Hekah khohmuen lamloh thoo laeh, cet lamtah na pacaboeina kah khohmuen la mael laeh,’ a ti,” a ti nah.
14 And she answered Rachel and Leah and they said to him ¿ still [belong] to us [does] a share and an inheritance in [the] household of father our.
Te dongah Rakhel neh Leah loh a doo vaengah, “A pa im kah hamsum neh rho te mamih ham om voel a?
15 ¿ Not foreigners are we accounted by him for he has sold us and he has consumed also continuously money our.
Anih loh kholong hlang la m'poek uh dongah mamih he n'yoih phoeiah mamih kah tangka te a caak khaw a caak moenih a?
16 For all the wealth which he has taken away God from father our [belongs] to us it and to children our and therefore all that he has said God to you do.
Hmantang ah Pathen loh a pa taengkah a lat khuehtawn boeih te mah koe neh n'ca rhoek kah ni. Te dongah Pathen loh nang taengah a thui boeih te tah saii laeh,” a ti rhoi.
17 And he arose Jacob and he lifted up children his and wives his on camels.
Te dongah Jakob loh thoo tih a ca rhoek neh a yuu rhoek te kalauk rhoek dongla a ngol sak.
18 And he drove all livestock his and all possession[s] his which he had accumulated [the] livestock of acquisition his which he had accumulated in Paddan Aram to go to Isaac father his [the] land of towards Canaan.
Te phoeiah a napa Isaak kah khohmuen Kanaan la caeh ham a boiva neh a kawn a dang boeih te khaw, Paddanaram ah a dang amah kah hnopai, boiva te khaw baat a thawn.
19 And Laban he had gone to shear sheep his and she stole Rachel the teraphim which [belonged] to father her.
Tedae Laban loh amah kah tu te a mul vok pah ham a caeh vaengah Rakhel loh a napa kah sithui te a huen.
20 And he stole Jacob [the] heart of Laban the Aramean on not he told to him that [was] fleeing he.
Anih a yong te a puen mueh la Jakob loh Arammi Laban kah lungbuei te a namnah.
21 And he fled he and all that [belonged] to him and he arose and he passed over the river and he set face his [the] hill country of Gilead.
Anih a yong dongah a taengkah boeih te khaw a thoh puei tih, tuiva a poeng phoeikah Gilead tlang dan la a hooi puei.
22 And it was told to Laban on the day third that he had fled Jacob.
Tedae Jakob a yong te a hnin thum daengah Laban taengah a puen pah.
23 And he took relatives his with him and he pursued after him a journey of seven days and he overtook him in [the] hill country of Gilead.
Te dongah Laban loh amah manuca rhoek te a khuen tih hnin rhih longcaeh due anih hnuk te a hloem phoeiah Jakob te Gilead tlang ah a tuuk.
24 And he came God to Laban the Aramean in [the] dream of the night and he said to him take heed to yourself lest you should speak with Jacob from good unto bad.
Tedae Arammi hoel Laban te Khoyin a mang ah Pathen loh a paan tih, “Namah te ngaithuen, Jakob taengah a then khaw a thae la na thui ve,” a ti nah.
25 And he overtook Laban Jacob and Jacob he had pitched tent his in the hill country and Laban he pitched tent with relatives his in [the] hill country of Gilead.
Tedae Laban loh Jakob a tuuk vaengah Jakob loh amah kah dap te tlang ah a tuk coeng dongah Laban neh a manuca rhoek long khaw Gilead tlang ah rhaeh uh.
26 And he said Laban to Jacob what? have you done and you have stolen heart my and you have led away daughters my like captives of [the] sword.
Te vaengah Laban loh Jakob la, “Balae na saii he. Ka thinko he na liim tih ka tanu rhoek te cunghang kah a sol bangla na hmaithawn.
27 Why? did you hide yourself to flee and did you steal? me and not did you tell? to me and I sent away you with gladness and with songs with tambourine and with harp.
Yong ham te balae tih na phah, kai taengah na puen mueh la kai nan liim. Nang te kohoenah neh, laa neh, kamrhing neh, rhotoeng nen khaw kan tueih van mako.
28 And not did you allow? me to kiss sons my and daughters my now you have behaved foolishly to do.
Ka ca rhoek so neh ka canu rhoek soah te mok ham kai nan paek pawt khaw na pavai coeng tih ni na saii.
29 There [is] to [the] power of hand my to do with you harm and [the] God of father your last night - he said to me saying take heed to yourself from speaking with Jacob from good unto bad.
Nangmih te a thae la saii ham ka thaa om ngawn dae hlaem yin ah na pa kah Pathen loh kai m'voek tih, 'Jakob te a thae neh a then khaw thui te namah ngaithuen,’ a ti.
30 And now certainly you have gone for certainly you longed for [the] household of father your why? did you steal gods my.
Tedae na pa im te ngaidam la na ngaidam coeng dongah na cet khaw na cet mai ni. Balae tih kai kah pathen na huen,” a ti nah.
31 And he answered Jacob and he said to Laban that I was afraid for I said lest you should tear away daughters your from with me.
Tedae Jakob loh a doo tih Laban te, “Na canu rhoek he kai taeng lamloh na doek ve ka ti tih ka rhih dongah ni.
32 With [anyone] whom you will find gods your not he will live before relatives our investigate for yourself what? [is] with me and take [it] for yourself and not he knew Jacob that Rachel she had stolen them.
A taengah na khohni na hmuh te tah kaimih kah pacaboeina hmaiah hing boel saeh. Kai taengkah he namah loh hmat lamtah namah kah atah lo,” a ti nah. Tedae Rakhel loh a huen te Jakob loh ming pawh.
33 And he went Laban in [the] tent of Jacob - and in [the] tent of Leah and in [the] tent of [the] two the maidservants and not he found [them] and he came out from [the] tent of Leah and he went in [the] tent of Rachel.
Te dongah Laban loh Jakob kah dap khaw, Leah kah dap neh taengom rhoi kah dap khuila cet dae a hmuh pawt dongah Leah kah dap lamkah halo tih Rakhel kah dap khuila kun.
34 And Rachel she had taken the teraphim and she had put them in [the] saddlebag of the camel and she sat on them and he searched Laban all the tent and not he found [them].
Tedae Rakhel loh sithui te a loh tih kalauk kah ngoldoelh khuiah a khueh tih a ngol thil dongah dap te Laban loh boeih a phatuem dae hmu pawh.
35 And she said to father her may not it burn in [the] eyes of lord my that not I am able to rise from before you for [the] way of women [belongs] to me and he searched and not he found the teraphim.
Te vaengah Rakhel loh a napa taengah, “Ka boeipa mik ah sai boel mai. Kai taengah huta kah khosing om tih nang hmuh ah thoh ham ka coeng moenih,” a ti nah. Te dongah a sat akhaw sithui te hmu pawh.
36 And it burned to Jacob and he quarreled with Laban and he answered Jacob and he said to Laban what? [is] transgression my what? [is] sin my that you have hotly pursued after me.
Tedae Jakob te sai tih Laban te a ho. Te vaengah Jakob loh Laban te a doo tih, “Kai kah mebang dumlai neh mebang tholhnah dongah lae kai hnukah nan hlak.
37 That you have searched all things my what? did you find of all [the] things of household your put [it] thus before relatives my and relatives your so they may decide between [the] two of us.
Tahae ah kai kah hnopai boeih te na phatuem tih na im kah hnopai khat khaw na hmuh te kai kah pacaboeina neh nang kah paca boeina hmuh ah n'rha phoeiah man mamih rhoi laklo ah n'tluung uh rhoi sue.
38 This twenty year[s] I [have been] with you ewes your and female goats your not they have miscarried and [the] rams of flock your not I have eaten.
Kum kul khuiah he nang taengah ka om coeng dae na tumanu neh na maae rhoek loh thangyah vai pawt tih na boiva khuikah a tal rhoek khaw ka ca vai pawh.
39 A torn animal not I brought to you I I bore [the] loss of it from hand my you sought it [one] stolen of day and [one] stolen of night.
Saha te na taengla kan khuen pawh. Khoyin loh a huen khaw, khothaih loh a huen khaw nan suk dongah kai loh kamah kut lamkah neh ka kawn.
40 I was in the day it consumed me heat and frost in the night and it fled sleep my from eyes my.
Khothaih ah kholing loh n'do tih khoyin ah rhaelnu loh m'boh phoeiah ka mik loh ih ham a hlavawt tih ka om.
41 This [belonged] to me twenty year[s] in household your I served you four-teen year[s] for [the] two daughters your and six years for flock[s] your and you changed wage[s] my ten times.
Tahae ah kai loh nang im ah kum kul ka om khuiah na canu rhoi ham kum hlai li neh na boiva ham kum rhuk te nang taengah ka tho ka tat dae ka thapang te voei rha la na hoi na lae.
42 If not [the] God of father my [the] God of Abraham and [the] fear of Isaac he had been to me for now empty you sent away me affliction my and ([the] toil of *LB(ah)*) hands my he has seen God and he decided last night.
A pa kah Pathen, Abraham kah Pathen neh Isaak kah birhihnah te kai taengah om pawt koinih kuttling la kai nan tueih tarha mai veh. Kai kah phacip phabaem neh ka kut kah a thatloh te Pathen loh a hmuh dongah ni hlaem yin ah a tluung,” a ti nah.
43 And he answered Laban and he said to Jacob the daughters [are] daughters my and the children [are] children my and the flock [is] flock my and all that you [are] seeing [belongs] to me it and for daughters my what? will I do for these this day or for children their whom they have borne.
Laban long khaw Jakob te a doo vaengah, “Huta rhoek te kai canu rhoek tih tongpa rhoek te khaw kai ca rhoek ni. Boiva te khaw kai kah boiva tih namah loh na hmuh boeih te kai koe ni. Tedae tihnin ah ka canu rhoek, amih ham neh amih loh a sak camoe rhoek ham balae ka saii thai voel.
44 And therefore come! let us make a covenant I and you and it will become a witness between me and between you.
Te dongah halo laeh! Kai neh nang paipi sai sih lamtah kai laklo nang laklo ah laipai la om saeh,” a ti nah.
45 And he took Jacob a stone and he raised up it a pillar.
Te dongah Jakob loh lungto a rhuh tih kaam la a ling.
46 And he said Jacob to relatives his gather stones and they took stones and they made a heap and they ate there at the heap.
Te phoeiah Jakob loh amah kah paca boeina rhoek la, “Lungto rhut uh,” a ti nah. Lungto te a rhuh uh tih lungkuk la a saii uh phoeiah tah lungkuk taengah buh pahoi a caak uh.
47 And he called it Laban Jegar Sahadutha and Jacob he called it Galeed.
Te dongah tekah lungkuk te Laban loh Jegarsahdutha a sui tih Jakob loh Galeed la a khue.
48 And he said Laban the heap this [is] a witness between me and between you this day there-fore (he called *LA(bh)*) name its Galeed.
Te phoeiah Laban loh, “Tihnin ah hekah lungkuk loh kai laklo neh nang laklo ah laipai la om coeng,” a ti dongah a ming te Galeed a sui.
49 And Mizpah that he said may he keep watch Yahweh between me and between you for we will be hidden each from neighbor his.
Te phoeiah, “Hlang hui taeng lamloh n'thuh vaengah kai laklo neh nang laklo ah BOEIPA loh n'tawt saeh,” a ti dongah Mizpah a sui.
50 If you will mistreat daughters my and if you will take wives to daughters my there not [is] anyone with us see God [is] a witness between me and between you.
Ka ca huta rhoek te khoem na phaep tih ka ca rhoek hmanah yuu na loh atah mamih taengah hlang om pawt dae kai neh nang laklo kah laipai tah Pathen ni tila hmu sih.
51 And he said Laban to Jacob here! - the heap this and here! the pillar which I have set up between me and between you.
Te phoeiah Laban loh Jakob te, “Lungkuk he khaw kaam he khaw ne, te ni kai laklo neh nang laklo ah kan thuinuet.
52 [is] a witness The heap this and [is] a witness the pillar if I not I will pass beyond to you the heap this and if you not you will pass beyond to me the heap this and the pillar this for harm.
Boethae ham khaw hekah lungkuk neh kaam he tah kai loh nang taengla hekah lungkuk kan poeng pawt ham neh nang khaw kai taengla na poe pawt ham hekah lungkuk neh kaam he laipai la om saeh.
53 [the] God of Abraham and [the] God of Nahor may they judge between us [the] God of father their and he swore Jacob by [the] fear of father his Isaac.
Abraham kah Pathen neh Nakhaw kah Pathen, a napa kah Pathen loh mamih laklo ah laitloek uh saeh,” a ti nah. Te phoeiah Jakob loh a napa Isaak kah birhihnah neh a toemngam.
54 And he sacrificed Jacob a sacrifice in the hill country and he invited relatives his to eat food and they ate food and they stayed [the] night in the hill country.
Te dongah Jakob loh tlang ah hmueih a nawn phoeiah buh ca la amah huiko te a khue. Buh a caak uh phoeiah tlang ah rhaeh uh.
55 And he rose early Laban in the morning and he kissed sons his and daughters his and he blessed them and he went and he returned Laban to own place his.
Laban te mincang ah thoo tih a ca rhoek neh a canu rhoek te a mok. Te phoeiah amih te yoethen a paek. Te phoeiah cet tih Laban khaw amah hmuen la mael.
