< Genesis 29 >
1 And he lifted up Jacob feet his and he went [the] land of towards [the] people of [the] east.
2 And he saw and there! a well [was] in the field and there! there three flocks of sheep [were] lying down at it for from the well that people watered the flocks and the stone [was] large over [the] mouth of the well.
3 And they were gathered there towards all the flocks and they rolled the stone from over [the] mouth of the well and they watered the sheep and they put back the stone over [the] mouth of the well to place its.
4 And he said to them Jacob O brothers my from where? [are] you and they said [are] from Haran we.
Na ka mea a Hakopa ki a ratou, E oku tuakana, no hea koutou? A ka mea ratou, No Harana matou.
5 And he said to them ¿ do you know Laban [the] son of Nahor and they said we know [him].
Ka mea ratou, E mohio ana ano matou.
6 And he said to them ¿ [does] health [belong] to him and they said health and there! Rachel daughter his [is] coming with the sheep.
A ka mea ia ki a ratou, E ora ana ranei ia? Ka mea ratou, E ora ana ano: ko Rahera ano tenei, ko tana tamahine te haere mai nei me nga hipi.
7 And he said here! still the day [is] great not [the] time of [the] being gathered of the livestock water the sheep and go pasture [them].
8 And they said not we are able until that they will be gathered all the flocks and people will roll the stone from over [the] mouth of the well and we will water the sheep.
9 Still [was] he speaking with them and Rachel - she came with the sheep which [belonged] to father her for [was] a shepherdess she.
I a ia ano e korero ana ki a ratou, ka puta mai a Rahera me nga hipi a tona papa: ko ia hoki te kaiwhangai.
10 And it was just as he saw Jacob Rachel [the] daughter of Laban [the] brother of mother his and [the] sheep of Laban [the] brother of mother his and he drew near Jacob and he rolled the stone from over [the] mouth of the well and he watered [the] sheep of Laban [the] brother of mother his.
11 And he kissed Jacob Rachel and he lifted up voice his and he wept.
Na ka kihi a Hakopa i a Rahera, a nui atu tona reo ki te tangi.
12 And he told Jacob to Rachel that [was] [the] relative of father her he and that [was] [the] son of Rebekah he and she ran and she told to father her.
13 And it was when heard Laban [the] report of - Jacob [the] son of sister his and he ran to meet him and he embraced him and he kissed him and he brought him to house his and he recounted to Laban all the things these.
Na, i te taenga atu ki a Rapana o te rongo o Hakopa, tama a tona tuahine, ka rere ia ki te whakatau i a ia, ka awhi i a ia, ka kihi hoki i a ia, a kawea ana ki tona whare. A ka korerotia e ia enei mea katoa ki a Rapana.
14 And he said to him Laban surely [are] bone my and flesh my you and he remained with him a month of days.
Na ka mea a Rapana ki a ia, He pono ko toku whenua, ko toku kikokiko koe. A kotahi te marama i noho ai ia ki a ia.
15 And he said Laban to Jacob ¿ for relative my [are] you and you will serve me for nothing tell! to me what? [is] wage[s] your.
Na ka mea a Rapana ki a Hakopa, No te mea ko taku iramutu koe, me mahi noa ano koe ki ahau? korero mai ki ahau, me aha he utu mou?
16 And [belonged] to Laban two daughters [the] name of the old [one] [was] Leah and [the] name of the young [one] [was] Rachel.
17 And [the] eyes of Leah [were] weak and Rachel she was beautiful of form and beautiful of appearance.
He papahewa nga kanohi o Rea; he mea ahuareka ia a Rahera, he ataahua hoki ki te titiro atu.
18 And he loved Jacob Rachel and he said I will serve you seven years for Rachel daughter your young.
Na i aroha a Hakopa ki a Rahera; a ka mea ia, Kia whitu nga tau e mahi ai ahau ki a koe mo Rahera, mo tau tamahine o muri.
19 And he said Laban ([is] good *LB(ah)*) to give I her to you more than to give I her to a man another remain! with me.
20 And he served Jacob for Rachel seven years and they were in view his like days one in love his her.
21 And he said Jacob to Laban give! wife my for they have been completed days my so I may go into her.
22 And he gathered Laban all [the] people of the place and he prepared a feast.
Na ka huihuia mai e Rapana nga tangata katoa o taua wahi, a tukua ana e ia he hakari.
23 And it was in the evening and he took Leah daughter his and he brought her to him and he went into her.
A, i te ahiahi ka mau ia ki a Rea ki tana tamahine, a kawea ana ia ki a ia; a ka haere ia ki roto, ki a ia.
24 And he had given Laban to her Zilpah maidservant his to Leah daughter his a maidservant.
A i hoatu e Rapana a Tiripa, tana pononga wahine, hei pononga ma Rea, ma tana tamahine.
25 And it was in the morning and there! she [was] Leah and he said to Laban what? this have you done to me ¿ not for Rachel have I served with you and why? have you deceived me.
A, i te ata, na, ko Rea ia: a ka mea ia ki a Rapana, He aha tenei mahi au ki ahau? ehara ianei a Rahera i taku i mahi ai ahau ki a koe? he aha ra koe i tinihanga ai ki ahau?
26 And he said Laban not it is done thus in place our to give the young before the firstborn.
27 Complete [the] week of this [one] so let us give to you also this [one] for [the] service which you will serve with me again seven years another.
Whakatutukitia te wiki mo tenei, a ka hoatu ano hoki tera e matou ki a koe mo te mahi e mahi ai koe ki ahau i etahi atu tau e whitu.
28 And he did Jacob thus and he completed [the] week of this [one] and he gave to him Rachel daughter his of him to a wife.
A pera ana a Hakopa, a whakatutukitia ana e ia te wiki mo tenei: a ka homai e ia a Rahera, tana tamahine, ki a ia hei wahine mana.
29 And he had given Laban to Rachel daughter his Bilhah maidservant his to her to [be] a maidservant.
I homai ano e Rapana a Piriha, tana pononga wahine, ki a Rahera, ki tana tamahine, hei pononga mana.
30 And he went also into Rachel and he loved also Rachel more than Leah and he served with him again seven years another.
Na ka haere ano hoki ia ki roto, ki a Rahera, a nui atu tona aroha ki a Rahera i tona ki a Rea; e whitu atu ano nga tau i mahi ai ia ki a ia.
31 And he saw Yahweh that [was] hated Leah and he opened womb her and Rachel [was] barren.
A ka kite a Ihowa e kinongia ana a Rea, ka whakatuwheratia e ia tona kopu: he pakoko ia a Rahera.
32 And she conceived Leah and she bore a son and she called name his Reuben for she said that he has looked Yahweh on affliction my for now he will love me husband my.
Na ka hapu a Rea, a ka whanau he tama, a huaina ana e ia tona ingoa ko Reupena: i mea hoki ia, Mo Ihowa hoki i titiro mai ki toku tangihanga; ta te mea hoki akuanei taku tahu aroha ai ki ahau.
33 And she conceived again and she bore a son and she said that he has heard Yahweh that [am] hated I and he has given to me also this [one] and she called name his Simeon.
Na ka hapu ano ia, a ka whanau he tama; a ka mea ia, I rongo hoki a Ihowa e kinongia ana ahau, koia i homai ai hoki e ia tenei ki ahau: a huaina ana e ia tona ingoa ko Himiona.
34 And she conceived again and she bore a son and she said now this time he will join himself husband my to me for I have borne to him three sons there-fore he called name his Levi.
Na ka hapu ano ia, a ka whanau he tama; a ka mea ia, Katahi ano taku tahu ka piri mai ki ahau, no te mea hoki ka tokotoru a maua tama ka whanau; na reira i huaina ai e ia tona ingoa ko Riwai.
35 And she conceived again and she bore a son and she said this time I will praise Yahweh there-fore she called name his Judah and she stopped from bearing children.
Na ka hapu ano ia, a ka whanau he tama; a ka mea ia, Katahi ahau ka whakamoemiti ki a Ihowa: koia i huaina ai e ia tona ingoa ko Hura: a ka mutu tana whanau.
