Genesis 26
1 And it was a famine in the land besides the famine former which it was in [the] days of Abraham and he went Isaac to Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines Gerar towards.
Trong xứ gặp nạn đói lớn, giống như trận đói thời Áp-ra-ham. Vì thế, Y-sác dời xuống Ghê-ra, một thành phố thuộc lãnh thổ của Vua A-bi-mê-léc, nước Phi-li-tin.
2 And he appeared to him Yahweh and he said may not you go down Egypt towards dwell in the land which I will say to you.
Chúa Hằng Hữu hiện ra và phán cùng Y-sác: “Con đừng xuống Ai Cập.
3 Sojourn in the land this so I may be with you and I will bless you for to you and to offspring your I will give all the lands these and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham father your.
Con nên vâng lời Ta mà ở lại trong xứ này. Nếu con cứ ở lại đây, Ta sẽ ở cùng con và ban phước lành cho con, vì Ta sẽ cho con và dòng dõi con đất nước này. Ta sẽ thực hiện lời thề hứa với cha con là Áp-ra-ham.
4 And I will multiply offspring your like [the] stars of the heavens and I will give to offspring your all the lands these and they will bless themselves by offspring your all [the] nations of the earth.
Ta sẽ cho dòng dõi con gia tăng nhiều như sao trên trời, và Ta sẽ cho dòng dõi con tất cả đất đai này. Nhờ dòng dõi con mà tất cả các dân tộc trên thế giới đều được phước.
5 Consequence that he listened Abraham to voice my and he kept duty my commandments my statutes my and laws my.
Ta sẽ thực hiện điều đó, vì Áp-ra-ham đã vâng giữ điều răn và luật lệ Ta.”
6 And he dwelt Isaac in Gerar.
Vậy, Y-sác ở lại Ghê-ra.
7 And they asked [the] men of the place of wife his and he said [is] sister my she for he was afraid to say wife my lest they should kill me [the] men of the place on Rebekah for [was] good of appearance she.
Khi người dân hỏi thăm Rê-bê-ca, Y-sác giới thiệu: “Đây là em gái tôi.” Y-sác sợ rằng nếu nói “nàng là vợ tôi” thì họ sẽ giết ông đi để cướp nàng, bởi vì Rê-bê-ca là một người đàn bà tuyệt sắc.
8 And it was that they had become long to him there the days and he looked down Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines through the window and he saw and there! Isaac [was] playing with Rebekah wife his.
Sau một thời gian dài, A-bi-mê-léc, vua nước Phi-li-tin, nhìn qua cửa sổ và chợt thấy Y-sác hôn Rê-bê-ca.
9 And he summoned Abimelech Isaac and he said surely here! [is] wife your she and how? did you say [is] sister my she and he said to him Isaac for I thought lest I should die on her.
A-bi-mê-léc lập tức triệu Y-sác vào cung và quở trách: “Nàng quả là vợ ngươi. Sao ngươi lại bảo là em gái?” Y-sác đáp: “Vì tôi sợ người ta sẽ giết tôi đi để cướp nàng.”
10 And he said Abimelech what? this have you done to us like a little he lay with one of the people wife your and you will bring on us guilt.
A-bi-mê-léc trách: “Sao ngươi tệ vậy! Ngươi nói thế lỡ có người nào tưởng nàng chưa có chồng, đem lòng yêu say đắm mà không được đáp ứng, rồi cuồng dại làm liều thì cả dân tộc ta sẽ bị họa lây.”
11 And he commanded Abimelech all the people saying who [-ever] touches the man this and wife his certainly he will be put to death.
Vua bèn ra thông cáo: “Ai làm hại vợ chồng Y-sác sẽ bị xử tử.”
12 And he sowed Isaac in the land that and he found in the year that one hundred measures and he blessed him Yahweh.
Y-sác làm ruộng và thu hoạch được gấp trăm lần trong năm đó. Chúa Hằng Hữu ban phước cho Y-sác,
13 And he became great the man and he went continuously and becoming great until for he became great exceedingly.
nên người trở nên giàu có; tài sản ngày càng gia tăng nhanh chóng.
14 And it be[longed] to him livestock of flock and livestock of herd and service much and they envied him [the] Philistines.
Y-sác có nhiều đầy tớ và rất nhiều bầy chiên, bầy dê, và bầy bò đông đảo. Người Phi-li-tin ganh tức,
15 And all the wells which they had dug [the] servants of father his in [the] days of Abraham father his they stopped up them [the] Philistines and they filled them earth.
nên tìm cách phá hoại; họ lấy đất lấp hết các giếng của Y-sác mà các đầy tớ của cha người đã đào.
16 And he said Abimelech to Isaac go from with us for you have become [too] powerful for us much.
Chính Vua A-bi-mê-léc cũng trở mặt và đuổi Y-sác ra khỏi nước Phi-li-tin: “Ngươi phải rời đất nước ta, vì ngươi giàu mạnh hơn dân ta.”
17 And he went from there Isaac and he encamped in [the] wadi of Gerar and he dwelt there.
Vậy, Y-sác ra đi và di cư đến thung lũng Ghê-ra.
18 And he returned Isaac and he dug - [the] wells of water which people had dug in [the] days of Abraham father his and they had stopped up them [the] Philistines after [the] death of Abraham and he called them names like the names which he had called them father his.
Y-sác đào lại các giếng đã đào từ thời Áp-ra-ham, vì sau khi Áp-ra-ham qua đời, người Phi-li-tin đã lấp các giếng ấy. Y-sác giữ nguyên tên các giếng này đúng như cha mình đã đặt.
19 And they dug [the] servants of Isaac in the wadi and they found there a well of water living.
Đến khi các đầy tớ của Y-sác đào được một cái giếng phun nước giữa thung lũng,
20 And they disputed [the] herdsmen of Gerar with [the] herdsmen of Isaac saying [belongs] to us the water and he called [the] name of the well Esek for they quarreled with him.
bọn chăn chiên ở Ghê-ra đến tranh giành: “Giếng này là của bọn tao.” Y-sác đặt tên giếng là “Giếng Tranh Giành.”
21 And they dug a well another and they disputed also on it and he called name its Sitnah.
Các đầy tớ người đào được một giếng khác, bọn chăn chiên ấy cũng giành nữa, nên Y-sác đặt tên là “Giếng Thù Hận.”
22 And he moved on from there and he dug a well another and not they disputed on it and he called name its Rehoboth and he said that now he has made space Yahweh for us and we will be fruitful in the land.
Y-sác dời qua một nơi khác và đào được một giếng mới, không bị ai tranh giành, nên Y-sác đặt tên là “Giếng Khoảng Khoát,” vì người nói: “Chúa đã cho chúng ta ở nơi rộng rãi; chúng ta sẽ thịnh vượng trong xứ này.”
23 And he went up from there Beer Sheba.
Từ đó, Y-sác lên Bê-e-sê-ba.
24 And he appeared to him Yahweh in the night that and he said I [am] [the] God of Abraham father your may not you be afraid for [am] with you I and I will bless you and I will multiply offspring your for sake of Abraham servant my.
Một đêm, Chúa Hằng Hữu xuất hiện và phán cùng Y-sác: “Ta là Đức Chúa Trời của Áp-ra-ham, cha con. Con đừng sợ, vì Ta ở với con và ban phước lành cho con. Ta sẽ cho dòng dõi con gia tăng đông đảo vì cớ Áp-ra-ham, đầy tớ Ta!”
25 And he built there an altar and he called on [the] name of Yahweh and he pitched there tent his and they dug there [the] servants of Isaac a well.
Vậy, Y-sác xây một bàn thờ và thờ phượng Chúa Hằng Hữu. Ông định cư tại đó và các đầy tớ của Y-sác lại bắt đầu đào giếng.
26 And Abimelech he came to him from Gerar and Ahuzzah close friend his and Phicol [the] commander of army his.
Một hôm, Vua A-bi-mê-léc cùng với quân sư là A-hu-sát, và Phi-côn, tướng chỉ huy của ông, từ Ghê-ra đến thăm Y-sác.
27 And he said to them Isaac why? have you come to me and you you hate me and you sent away me from with you.
Y-sác trách: “Quý ngài đã ganh ghét tôi và đuổi tôi, mà bây giờ ngài còn đến đây làm chi?”
28 And they said certainly we have seen that he has been Yahweh - with you and we said let it be please an oath between us between us and between you and let us make a covenant with you.
Họ đáp: “Chúng tôi nhìn nhận rằng Chúa Hằng Hữu phù hộ ông, nên chúng tôi bàn định lập kết ước với ông.
29 If you will do with us harm just as not we have touched you and just as we have done with you only good and we sent away you in peace you now [are] blessed of Yahweh.
Xin ông cam kết đừng bao giờ làm hại chúng tôi, như chúng tôi cũng đã không làm hại ông; trái lại, chúng tôi còn hậu đãi ông và để ông ra đi bình an. Ông là người được Chúa Hằng Hữu ban phước lành!”
30 And he prepared for them a feast and they ate and they drank.
Y-sác chuẩn bị một bữa tiệc linh đình đãi khách, họ cùng ăn uống với nhau.
31 And they rose early in the morning and they swore an oath each to brother his and he sent off them Isaac and they went from with him in peace.
Ngày hôm sau, họ dậy sớm, long trọng thề nguyện, và lập hiệp ước bất xâm phạm. Sau đó, Y-sác tiễn họ ra về bình an.
32 And it was - on the day that and they came [the] servants of Isaac and they told to him on [the] causes of the well which they had dug and they said to him we have found water.
Ngay hôm ấy, các đầy tớ báo cho Y-sác rằng họ đã đào được giếng nước tốt.
33 And he called it Shibah there-fore [the] name of the city [is] Beer Sheba until the day this.
Y-sác đặt tên giếng là “Giếng Thề Nguyện,” và thành phố xây tại đó được gọi là Bê-e-sê-ba (nghĩa là Giếng Thề Nguyện) cho đến ngày nay.
34 And he was Esau a son of forty year[s] and he took a wife Judith [the] daughter of Beeri the Hittite and Basemath [the] daughter of Elon the Hittite.
Ê-sau lập gia đình khi bốn mươi tuổi; ông cưới hai vợ: Giu-đi, con gái của Bê-ê-ri, và Bách-mát, con gái của Ê-lôn; cả hai đều là người họ Hê-tít.
35 And they were bitterness of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.
Các nàng dâu này gây lắm nỗi đắng cay cho ông bà Y-sác.
