< Genesis 26 >

1 And it was a famine in the land besides the famine former which it was in [the] days of Abraham and he went Isaac to Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines Gerar towards.
Afei, ɛkɔm kɛseɛ bi baa asase no so. Saa ɛkɔm kɛseɛ no sene deɛ ɛbaa Abraham berɛ so no. Ɛno enti, Isak tu kɔtenaa Gerar a ɛyɛ Filistifoɔ ɔhene Abimelek kuro mu.
2 And he appeared to him Yahweh and he said may not you go down Egypt towards dwell in the land which I will say to you.
Ɛhɔ na Awurade yii ne ho adi kyerɛɛ Isak, ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Nkɔ Misraim, na mmom, tena asase a mɛkyerɛ wo no so.
3 Sojourn in the land this so I may be with you and I will bless you for to you and to offspring your I will give all the lands these and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham father your.
Tena asase yi so kakra, ɛfiri sɛ, mede saa asase no nyinaa bɛma wo ne wʼasefoɔ, na mede asi ɛbɔ a mehyɛɛ wʼagya Abraham no so dua.
4 And I will multiply offspring your like [the] stars of the heavens and I will give to offspring your all the lands these and they will bless themselves by offspring your all [the] nations of the earth.
Mɛma wʼasefoɔ adɔɔso te sɛ nsoromma a ɛwɔ soro, na mede saa nsase yi nyinaa ama wɔn. Ɛnam wʼasefoɔ so na wɔbɛhyira ewiase aman ahodoɔ nyinaa.
5 Consequence that he listened Abraham to voice my and he kept duty my commandments my statutes my and laws my.
Ɛfiri sɛ, Abraham tiee me nne, dii me nsɛm, mʼahyɛdeɛ ne me mmara nyinaa so.”
6 And he dwelt Isaac in Gerar.
Enti, Isak tenaa Gerar.
7 And they asked [the] men of the place of wife his and he said [is] sister my she for he was afraid to say wife my lest they should kill me [the] men of the place on Rebekah for [was] good of appearance she.

8 And it was that they had become long to him there the days and he looked down Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines through the window and he saw and there! Isaac [was] playing with Rebekah wife his.
Isak tenaa hɔ kyɛɛ kakra no, ɛda bi, Filistifoɔ ɔhene Abimelek gyina ne mpomma mu na ɔhunuu sɛ Isak regoro ne yere Rebeka ho.
9 And he summoned Abimelech Isaac and he said surely here! [is] wife your she and how? did you say [is] sister my she and he said to him Isaac for I thought lest I should die on her.
Ɛno enti, Abimelek soma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ Isak. Isak baeɛ no, ɔbisaa no sɛ, “Ɔbaa no yɛ wo yere ankasa. Adɛn enti na woka sɛ, ‘Ɔyɛ me nuabaa?’” Isak buaa no sɛ, “Mesusuu sɛ, sɛ meka sɛ ɔyɛ me yere a, ne enti, ebia, na wɔakum me.”
10 And he said Abimelech what? this have you done to us like a little he lay with one of the people wife your and you will bring on us guilt.
Ɛnna ɔhene Abimelek kaa sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn asɛm na wo ne yɛn adi yi? Nokorɛ a woamma anna adi enti, anka obi bɛtumi afa wo yere no, na wode mmusuo aba yɛn so.”
11 And he commanded Abimelech all the people saying who [-ever] touches the man this and wife his certainly he will be put to death.
Ɛno enti, Abimelek bɔɔ ne manfoɔ no kɔkɔ sɛ, “Obiara a ɔde ne nsa bɛka saa ɔbarima yi, anaa ne yere no, ɛkwan biara so, wɔbɛkum no.”
12 And he sowed Isaac in the land that and he found in the year that one hundred measures and he blessed him Yahweh.

13 And he became great the man and he went continuously and becoming great until for he became great exceedingly.

14 And it be[longed] to him livestock of flock and livestock of herd and service much and they envied him [the] Philistines.
Ɔnyaa nnwan, anantwie, ne asomfoɔ bebree, ma ɛyɛɛ saa maa Filistifoɔ no ani beree no yie. Saa anibereɛ yi enti, Filistifoɔ no de dɔteɛ kɔsisii
15 And all the wells which they had dug [the] servants of father his in [the] days of Abraham father his they stopped up them [the] Philistines and they filled them earth.

16 And he said Abimelech to Isaac go from with us for you have become [too] powerful for us much.
Ɛbaa saa no, ɔhene Abimelek ka kyerɛɛ Isak sɛ, “Tu firi yɛn asase so, ɛfiri sɛ, wʼahonya dodoɔ aka yɛn ahyɛ.”
17 And he went from there Isaac and he encamped in [the] wadi of Gerar and he dwelt there.

18 And he returned Isaac and he dug - [the] wells of water which people had dug in [the] days of Abraham father his and they had stopped up them [the] Philistines after [the] death of Abraham and he called them names like the names which he had called them father his.

19 And they dug [the] servants of Isaac in the wadi and they found there a well of water living.

20 And they disputed [the] herdsmen of Gerar with [the] herdsmen of Isaac saying [belongs] to us the water and he called [the] name of the well Esek for they quarreled with him.
Nanso, Gerar nnwanhwɛfoɔ ne Isak nnwanhwɛfoɔ gyee abura no ho akyinnyeɛ. Gerar nnwanhwɛfoɔ no kaa sɛ, “Abura yi yɛ yɛn dea.” Yei maa Isak too saa abura no edin Esek, a aseɛ kyerɛ akyinnyegyeɛ abura.
21 And they dug a well another and they disputed also on it and he called name its Sitnah.
Isak nkoa no sane tuu abura foforɔ, nanso Gerar nnwanhwɛfoɔ no sane ne wɔn kasakasaa ɛno nso so. Yei maa Isak sane too saa abura no nso edin Sitna, a aseɛ kyerɛ Aperedie.
22 And he moved on from there and he dug a well another and not they disputed on it and he called name its Rehoboth and he said that now he has made space Yahweh for us and we will be fruitful in the land.
Isak gyaa saa abura no hɔ kɔtuu abura foforɔ. Afei, nnipa a wɔne no te hɔ no gyaee no haw a obiara ne no ankasa so bio. Yei maa Isak too saa abura yi edin Rehobot a aseɛ ne “Afei deɛ Awurade abɔ yɛn atenaseɛ na yɛbɛnya yɛn ho wɔ asase yi so.”
23 And he went up from there Beer Sheba.
Isak tu firii hɔ kɔɔ Beer-Seba.
24 And he appeared to him Yahweh in the night that and he said I [am] [the] God of Abraham father your may not you be afraid for [am] with you I and I will bless you and I will multiply offspring your for sake of Abraham servant my.
Anadwo no, Awurade yii ne ho adi kyerɛɛ no, ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Mene wʼagya, Abraham Onyankopɔn. Nsuro, ɛfiri sɛ, me ne wo na ɛwɔ hɔ. Ɛbɔ a mahyɛ mʼakoa Abraham enti, mɛhyira wo, na mama wʼasefoɔ adɔɔso, na wɔayɛ ɔman kɛseɛ.”
25 And he built there an altar and he called on [the] name of Yahweh and he pitched there tent his and they dug there [the] servants of Isaac a well.
Isak sii afɔrebukyia, somm Awurade wɔ hɔ. Ɔsii ntomadan, tenaa hɔ, na ne nkoa nso tuu abura maa no.
26 And Abimelech he came to him from Gerar and Ahuzzah close friend his and Phicol [the] commander of army his.
Ɛda bi, ɔhene Abimelek ne ne fotufoɔ Ahusad ne ne sahene Pikol firi Gerar bɛsraa Isak.
27 And he said to them Isaac why? have you come to me and you you hate me and you sent away me from with you.
Isak bisaa wɔn sɛ, “Adɛn enti na mo a na mo ne me nka, na mopamoo me firii mo nkyɛn aba me ha ɛnnɛ sɛ morebɛsra me?”
28 And they said certainly we have seen that he has been Yahweh - with you and we said let it be please an oath between us between us and between you and let us make a covenant with you.
Wɔbuaa no sɛ, “Yɛhunu pefee sɛ Awurade wɔ wʼafa enti, yɛasi gyinaeɛ sɛ, yɛne wo bɛyɛ apam. Apam no bɛda wo ne yɛn ntam. Pene so, na yɛne wo nyɛ saa apam no,
29 If you will do with us harm just as not we have touched you and just as we have done with you only good and we sent away you in peace you now [are] blessed of Yahweh.
Ka yɛn ntam sɛ, worenha yɛn, sɛdeɛ yɛn nso, yɛanha wo no. Yɛne wo tenaa yie. Yɛgyaa wo kwan asomdwoeɛ mu. Afei, hwɛ sɛdeɛ Awurade ahyira wo.”
30 And he prepared for them a feast and they ate and they drank.
Isak too wɔn ɛpono, na wɔdidi nomeeɛ de twɛn apam a wɔne no rebɛyɛ no.
31 And they rose early in the morning and they swore an oath each to brother his and he sent off them Isaac and they went from with him in peace.
Adeɛ kyee anɔpa no, Isak ne mmarima no kekaa wɔn ho wɔn ho ntam, de sii wɔn apam a wɔayɛ no so dua. Afei, Isak gyaa wɔn kwan, ma wɔkɔɔ asomdwoeɛ mu.
32 And it was - on the day that and they came [the] servants of Isaac and they told to him on [the] causes of the well which they had dug and they said to him we have found water.
Ɛda no ara, Isak asomfoɔ bɛkaa abura a na wɔretu no ho asɛm kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Yɛato nsuo.”
33 And he called it Shibah there-fore [the] name of the city [is] Beer Sheba until the day this.
Isak too abura no edin Seba, a aseɛ kyerɛ sɛ “Ntanka abura.” Kuro a akyire no wɔkyekyeree wɔ hɔ no, wɔtoo hɔ edin Beer-Seba a ɛbɛsi ɛnnɛ, wɔda so frɛ hɔ saa ara.
34 And he was Esau a son of forty year[s] and he took a wife Judith [the] daughter of Beeri the Hittite and Basemath [the] daughter of Elon the Hittite.
Esau dii mfeɛ aduanan no, ɔwaree ababaawa bi a na wɔfrɛ no Yudit. Na nʼagya yɛ Hetini bi a ne din de Beeri. Esau sane waree Basmat a nʼagya yɛ Hetini bi a ne din de Elon.
35 And they were bitterness of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.
Nanso, Isak ne Rebeka bo annwo saa awadeɛ no so.
