< Genesis 26 >

1 And it was a famine in the land besides the famine former which it was in [the] days of Abraham and he went Isaac to Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines Gerar towards.

2 And he appeared to him Yahweh and he said may not you go down Egypt towards dwell in the land which I will say to you.
Te vaengah anih taengah BOEIPA phoe tih, “Egypt la cet boeh. Nang taengah kan thui khohmuen ah rhaehrhong mai.
3 Sojourn in the land this so I may be with you and I will bless you for to you and to offspring your I will give all the lands these and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham father your.
Hekah kho ah na bakuep cakhaw, 'Hekah khohmuen pum he nang neh nang kah tiingan taengah ka paek ni, ' tila na pa Abraham taengah ka toemngam sut olhlo te ka thoh ham coeng dongah nang taengah ka om vetih nang yoethen kan paek ni.
4 And I will multiply offspring your like [the] stars of the heavens and I will give to offspring your all the lands these and they will bless themselves by offspring your all [the] nations of the earth.
Na tiingan khaw vaan aisi bangla ka pungtai sak vetih na tiingan taengah hekah khohmuen boeih ka paek vaengah nang kah tiingan rhang neh diklai namtom boeih a yoethen uh ni.
5 Consequence that he listened Abraham to voice my and he kept duty my commandments my statutes my and laws my.
Te dongah ni Abraham loh ka ol a hnatun tih ka kueknah, ka olpaek, ka khosing neh ka olkhueng te a ngaithuen,” a ti nah.
6 And he dwelt Isaac in Gerar.
Isaak loh Gerar ah kho a sak.
7 And they asked [the] men of the place of wife his and he said [is] sister my she for he was afraid to say wife my lest they should kill me [the] men of the place on Rebekah for [was] good of appearance she.

8 And it was that they had become long to him there the days and he looked down Abimelech [the] king of [the] Philistines through the window and he saw and there! Isaac [was] playing with Rebekah wife his.

9 And he summoned Abimelech Isaac and he said surely here! [is] wife your she and how? did you say [is] sister my she and he said to him Isaac for I thought lest I should die on her.
Te dongah Abimelek loh Isaak te a khue tih, “Anih he na yuu taktak a? Tedae bahamlae, 'Anih he ka ngannu ni, ' na ti,” a ti nah. Te dongah Isaak loh, “Anih kongah ka duek ve,” ka ti dongah ni,” a ti nah.
10 And he said Abimelech what? this have you done to us like a little he lay with one of the people wife your and you will bring on us guilt.
Te dongah Abimelek loh, “Kaimih taengah balae na saii he? Pilnam khuikah pakhat loh na yuu taengah yalh koinih kaimih soah tholhnah nan pup hloe mai,” a ti nah.
11 And he commanded Abimelech all the people saying who [-ever] touches the man this and wife his certainly he will be put to death.
Te dongah Abimelek loh pilnam boeih te a uen tih, “Hekah hlang neh a yuu te aka ben tah duek rhoe duek saeh,” a ti nah.
12 And he sowed Isaac in the land that and he found in the year that one hundred measures and he blessed him Yahweh.
Isaak loh khohmuen a tawn tih BOEIPA loh yoethen a paek dongah amah kum ah a pueh yakhat a dang.
13 And he became great the man and he went continuously and becoming great until for he became great exceedingly.
Tekah hlang khaw pantai tih thoeih la thoeih coeng. Te dongah a khawk nah hil boeilen tih rhoeng.
14 And it be[longed] to him livestock of flock and livestock of herd and service much and they envied him [the] Philistines.
Te vaengah anih kah tuping boiva neh saelhung boiva khaw, imkhut khaw muep a khueh. Te dongah Philisti rhoek te anih taengah thatlai uh.
15 And all the wells which they had dug [the] servants of father his in [the] days of Abraham father his they stopped up them [the] Philistines and they filled them earth.
Te dongah a napa Abraham tue vaengah a napa kah sal rhoek loh a too uh tuito boeih te Philisti rhoek loh a toeng sak uh tih laipi neh a et pauh.
16 And he said Abimelech to Isaac go from with us for you have become [too] powerful for us much.
Te dongah Abimelek loh Isaak te, “Nang he kaimih lakah bahoeng na tahoeng dongah kaimih taeng lamloh nong laeh,” a ti nah.
17 And he went from there Isaac and he encamped in [the] wadi of Gerar and he dwelt there.
Isaak loh te lamkah nong phoeiah Gerar soklong ah rhaeh tih pahoi kho a sak.
18 And he returned Isaac and he dug - [the] wells of water which people had dug in [the] days of Abraham father his and they had stopped up them [the] Philistines after [the] death of Abraham and he called them names like the names which he had called them father his.

19 And they dug [the] servants of Isaac in the wadi and they found there a well of water living.

20 And they disputed [the] herdsmen of Gerar with [the] herdsmen of Isaac saying [belongs] to us the water and he called [the] name of the well Esek for they quarreled with him.
Tedae Gerar kah boiva aka dawn rhoek neh Isaak kah boiva aka dawn rhoek toh uh thae tih, “Kaimih kah tui ni,” a ti uh. Te dongah amih neh a tukvat uh thae vanbangla Esek tuito tila a ming a sui.
21 And they dug a well another and they disputed also on it and he called name its Sitnah.
Te phoeiah tuito a tloe a too uh hatah te dongah khaw toh uh thae bal tih a ming te Sitnah a sui.
22 And he moved on from there and he dug a well another and not they disputed on it and he called name its Rehoboth and he said that now he has made space Yahweh for us and we will be fruitful in the land.
Te lamloh puen uh tih tuito a tloe a too vaengah toh uh thae voel pawh. Te dongah, “BOEIPA loh mamih ham hmuen han saelh tih khohmuen ah m'pungtai uh ni he,” a ti. Te phoeiah a ming te Rehoboth a sui.
23 And he went up from there Beer Sheba.
Te phoeiah te lamloh Beersheba la cet.
24 And he appeared to him Yahweh in the night that and he said I [am] [the] God of Abraham father your may not you be afraid for [am] with you I and I will bless you and I will multiply offspring your for sake of Abraham servant my.
Tedae tekah hlaem ah anih taengla BOEIPA phoe tih, “Kai he na pa Abraham kah Pathen ni. Nang taengah ka om tih ka sal Abraham kong ah nang yoethen kan paek phoeiah na tiingan te ka ping sak ham dongah rhih boeh,” a ti nah.
25 And he built there an altar and he called on [the] name of Yahweh and he pitched there tent his and they dug there [the] servants of Isaac a well.
Te dongah hmueihtuk pahoi a suem tih BOEIPA ming te a phoei. Te phoeiah amah kah dap khaw pahoi a tuk tih Isaak kah sal rhoek loh tuito pahoi a vueh uh.
26 And Abimelech he came to him from Gerar and Ahuzzah close friend his and Phicol [the] commander of army his.
Te vaengah Gerar lamkah Abimelek neh amah kah baerhoep Ahuzzath khaw, amah kah caempuei mangpa Phikol te Isaak taengla halo uh.
27 And he said to them Isaac why? have you come to me and you you hate me and you sent away me from with you.
Te dongah Isaak loh amih te, “Nangmih loh kai nan hmuhuet uh tih na taeng lamkah kai na haek uh phoeiah kai taengla balae nan loh uh,” a ti nah.
28 And they said certainly we have seen that he has been Yahweh - with you and we said let it be please an oath between us between us and between you and let us make a covenant with you.
Te vaengah amih loh, “BOEIPA tah nang taengah om tila ka hmuh rhoe ka hmuh uh coeng. Te dongah kaimih laklo ah khaw, kaimih laklo neh nang laklo ah olcaeng om saeh lamtah nang taengah moi bop sih ka ti uh.
29 If you will do with us harm just as not we have touched you and just as we have done with you only good and we sent away you in peace you now [are] blessed of Yahweh.
Nang te kam ben uh pawt tih nang taengah a then bueng ni ka saii uh. Te dongah nang khaw sading la kan tueih uh. BOEIPA loh yoethen m'paek vanbangla kaimih taengah a thae na saii pawt mako,” a ti uh.
30 And he prepared for them a feast and they ate and they drank.
Te dongah amih ham buhkoknah a saii tih a caak a ok uh.
31 And they rose early in the morning and they swore an oath each to brother his and he sent off them Isaac and they went from with him in peace.
Te phoeiah mincang ah thoo uh tih hlang khat neh khat te toemngam uh rhoi tih amih te a tueih phoeiah Isaak khaw ngaimong la voei.
32 And it was - on the day that and they came [the] servants of Isaac and they told to him on [the] causes of the well which they had dug and they said to him we have found water.
Tedae tekah khohnin ah Isaak kah sal rhoek halo uh tih a taengah a too uh tuito kongmai kawng te puen uh. Te vaengah a taengah, “Tui ka hmuh uh coeng,” a ti nauh.
33 And he called it Shibah there-fore [the] name of the city [is] Beer Sheba until the day this.
Te vaengah tekah hmuen te Sheba a sui dongah khopuei ming khaw tahae khohnin due Beersheba la om.
34 And he was Esau a son of forty year[s] and he took a wife Judith [the] daughter of Beeri the Hittite and Basemath [the] daughter of Elon the Hittite.
Esau khaw kum sawmli a lo ca vaengah a yuu te Khitti Beeri canu Judith neh Khitti Elon canu Basemath te a loh.
35 And they were bitterness of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.
Te dongah Isaak neh Rebekah taengah mueihla khahingnah om.
