< Genesis 19 >

1 And they came [the] two the angels Sodom towards in the evening and Lot [was] sitting in [the] gate of Sodom and he saw [them] Lot and he arose to meet them and he bowed down face [the] ground towards.
Na ka haere mai nga anahera tokorua ki Horoma i te ahiahi; a ko Rota i te kuwaha o Horoma e noho ana: a ka kite a Rota i a raua, ka whakatika ki te whakatau i a raua, a ka tuohu tona kanohi ki te whenua;
2 And he said here! please O lords my turn aside please to [the] house of servant your and stay [the] night and wash feet your and you will rise early (and you will go *LAH(b)*) to way your and they said In-deed in the open place we will stay [the] night.
3 And he urged them exceedingly and they turned aside to him and they went into house his and he prepared for them a feast and unleavened bread he baked and they ate.
Na ka kaha tana tohe ki a raua, a peka atu ana raua ki a ia, haere ana ki tona whare; na ka taka ia i tetahi hakari ma raua, ka tunu hoki i etahi keke rewenakore, a ka kai raua.
4 Before they lay down and [the] men of the city [the] men of Sodom they surrounded the house from young man and unto old [man] all the people from [the] end.
5 And they called to Lot and they said to him where? [are] the men who they came to you this night bring them to us so let us know them.
6 And he went out to them Lot the entrance towards and the door he closed behind him.
Na ka puta atu a Rota ki a ratou ki te kuwaha, me tana tutaki ano i te tatau i muri i a ia.
7 And he said may not please O brothers my you do evil.
Ka mea, Kaua ra e kino, e oku tuakana.
8 Here! please [belong] to me two daughters who not they have known a man let me bring out please them to you and do to them according to the good in view your only to the men these may not you do anything for since they have come in [the] shadow of roof my.
Nana, tokorua aku tamahine, kahore nei i mohio noa ki te tane, me whakaputa atu raua e ahau ki a koutou, a ma koutou e mea ki enei tangata; he mea hoki ka tae mai nei raua ki te taumarumarutanga iho o toku tuanui.
9 And they said - approach beyond and they said the one he came to sojourn and he has judged continuously now we will do harm to you more than them and they urged the man Lot exceedingly and they approached to break down the door.
Ano ra ko ratou, Tu atu. A ka mea ano ratou, I haere mai tenei koroke kotahi ki konei noho ia, a e whai ana kia mana e whakarite tikanga: akuanei tou mate i a matou nui atu i to raua. Na ka aki rawa ratou ki te tangata ra, ki a Rota, a ka whakata ta ki te wahi i te tatau.
10 And they stretched out the men hand their and they brought Lot to them the house towards and the door they closed.
11 And the men who [were] [the] entrance of the house they struck with sudden blindness from small and unto great and they became weary to find the entrance.
12 And they said the men to Lot yet who? [belongs] to you here a son-in-law and sons your and daughters your and all who [belong] to you in the city bring out from the place.
Na ka mea aua tangata ki a Rota, Kahore atu ranei ou tangata i konei? me he hunaonga, he tama ranei au, he tamahine ranei au, tetahi atu mea ranei au i roto i te pa, mauria atu i tenei wahi:
13 For [are] about to destroy we the place this for it is great outcry their with [the] face of Yahweh and he has sent us Yahweh to destroy it.
14 And he went out Lot and he spoke - to sons-in-law his - [who were] about to take daughters his and he said arise go out from the place this for [is] about to destroy Yahweh the city and he was like [one who] jests in [the] eyes of sons-in-law his.
15 And when the dawn it came up and they urged the angels Lot saying arise take wife your and [the] two daughters your who are found lest you should be swept away in [the] punishment of the city.
16 And he delayed - and they took hold the men on hand his and on [the] hand of wife his and on [the] hand of [the] two daughters his in [the] mercy of Yahweh towards him and they brought out him and they placed him from [the] outside of the city.
17 And it was when brought out they them the outside towards and he said escape on life your may not you look behind you and may not you stop in all the valley the hill country towards escape lest you should be swept away.
A ka oti ratou te kawe atu e raua ki waho, ka mea ia, Rere atu kia ora ai koe; kaua e titiro ki muri i a koe, kaua hoki e tu ki tetahi wahi o te mania; rere atu ki te maunga, kei ngaro koe.
18 And he said Lot to them may not [it be] please O Lord.
Na ka mea a Rota ki a raua, Kaua ra e pena, e toku Ariki.
19 Here! please he has found servant your favor in view your and you have made great loyalty your which you have done with me by preserving alive life my and I not I am able to escape the hill country towards lest it should cling to me the calamity and I will die.
Nana, kua manakohia nei tau pononga e koe, kua whakanuia ano e koe tou aroha i whakaputaina nei e koe ki ahau, i a koe i whakaora nei i toku wairua; na e kore e taea e ahau te rere ki te maunga, kei mau ahau i tetahi kino, a ka mate.
20 Here! please the city this [is] near to flee there towards and it [is] a small place let me escape please there towards ¿ not a small place [is] it so it may live life my.
Titiro hoki, e tata ana tenei pa hei rerenga atu, he mea nohinohi noa nei: Kia rere ahau ki reira ne? ehara ianei i te mea nohinohi? a ka ora toku wairua.
21 And he said to him here! I lift up face your also to the matter this to not to overthrow I the city which you have spoken.
Ano ra ko ia ki a ia, Na, kua whakaae ano hoki ahau ki tenei meatanga au, kia kaua e huna e ahau tenei pa i korero mai na koe.
22 Hurry escape there towards for not I will be able to do anything until going you there towards there-fore someone called [the] name of the city Zoar.
23 The sun it came out over the earth and Lot he went Zoar towards.
24 And Yahweh he caused to rain on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from with Yahweh from the heavens.
Katahi ka uaina e Ihowa ki Horoma, ki Komora, he whanariki, he ahi na Ihowa, no te rangi;
25 And he overthrew the cities these and all the valley and all [the] inhabitants of the cities and [the] growth of the ground.
A hurihia iho e ia aua pa, me te mania katoa, me nga tangata katoa o nga pa, me nga mea e tupu ana i te whenua.
26 And she looked wife his from behind him and she was a pillar of salt.
Na i titiro tana wahine ki muri i a ia, a meinga ana hei pou tote.
27 And he rose early Abraham in the morning to the place where he had stood there with [the] face of Yahweh.
A i maranga wawe a Aperahama i te ata ki te wahi i tu ai ia i te aroaro o Ihowa:
28 And he looked down on [the] face of Sodom and Gomorrah and on all [the] face of [the] land of the valley and he saw and there! it went up [the] smoke of the land like [the] smoke of furnace.
29 And it was when destroyed God [the] cities of the valley and he remembered God Abraham and he sent out Lot from [the] middle of the overthrow when overthrew the cities which he had dwelt in them Lot.
30 And he went up Lot from Zoar and he dwelt in the hill country and [the] two daughters his [were] with him for he was afraid to dwell in Zoar and he dwelt in the cave he and [the] two daughters his.
Na ka piki atu a Rota i Toara, ka noho ki te maunga, ratou tahi ko ana tamahine tokorua; i wehi hoki ia ki te noho i Toara: a ka noho i roto i tetahi ana, a ia me ana tamahine tokorua.
31 And said the firstborn to the young father our he is old and [is] a man there not in the land to go on us according to [the] way of all the earth.
Na ka mea te tuakana ki to muri, Kua koroheke to taua papa, a kohore he tangata o te whenua hei haere mai ki a taua, hei pera me to te whenua katoa tikanga:
32 Come! let us make drink father our wine and let us lie with him so we may preserve alive from father of our spring.
Tena, taua ka whakainu i to taua papa ki te waina, ka takoto ai taua ki a ia, kia tupu ai i a taua tetahi uri mo to taua papa.
33 And they made drink father their wine in the night that and she came the firstborn and she lay with father her and not he knew when lay down she and when arose she.
34 And it was from [the] next day and she said the firstborn to the young here! I lay with last night father my let us make drink him wine also this night and go lie with him so we may preserve alive from father of our spring.
A i te aonga ake ka mea te tuakana ki to muri, Nana, i takoto ahau inapo ki toku papa: taua ano ka whakainu i a ia ki te waina i tenei po; a mau e haere atu, e takoto ki a ia, kia tupu ai i a taua tetahi uri mo to taua papa.
35 And they made drink also in the night that father their wine and she arose the young [one] and she lay with him and not he knew when lay down she and when arose she.
36 And they conceived [the] two [the] daughters of Lot from father their.
Koia ka hapu nga tamahine tokorua a Rota i to raua papa.
37 And she bore the firstborn a son and she called name his Moab he [is] [the] ancestor of Moab until this day.
A ka whanau ta te tuakana, he tama, a huaina ana e ia tona ingoa ko Moapa: ko ia te papa o nga Moapi, a tae noa ki tenei ra.
38 And the young also she she bore a son and she called name his Ben-Ammi he [is] [the] ancestor of [the] people of Ammon until this day.
Me to muri, whanau ake ano tana, he tama, a huaina iho e ia tona ingoa ko Penami: ko ia te papa o nga tama a Amona, a tae noa ki tenei ra.
