< Genesis 17 >

1 And he was Abram a son of ninety year[s] and nine years and he appeared Yahweh to Abram and he said to him I [am] God Almighty walk about before me and be blameless.

2 So let me make covenant my between me and between you so I may increase you with muchness muchness.

3 And he fell Abram on face his and he spoke with him God saying.
Pea tō foʻohifo ʻa ʻEpalame ki he kelekele pea folofola ʻae ʻOtua kiate ia, ʻo pehē;
4 I here! covenant my [is] with you and you will become a father of a multitude of nations.
“Ko au eni, Vakai, ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻeku fuakava, pea te ke hoko ko e tamai ki he ngaahi puleʻanga lahi;
5 And not it will be called again name your Abram and it will be name your Abraham for a father of a multitude of nations I have made you.
Pea ʻe ʻikai toe ui ho hingoa ko ʻEpalame, ka ko ʻEpalahame ho hingoa, he kuo u ngaohi koe “ko e tamai ki he ngaahi puleʻanga lahi.”
6 And I will make fruitful you with muchness muchness and I will make you into nations and kings from you they will come out.
Pea te u ngaohi koe ke ke tupu ʻo tokolahi ʻaupito, pea te u ngaohi ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga lahi ʻiate koe, pea ʻe tupu ʻae ngaahi tuʻi ʻiate koe.
7 And I will establish covenant my between me and between you and between offspring your after you for generations their to a covenant of perpetuity to become for you God and for offspring your after you.
Pea te u fakamaau ʻeku fuakava kiate koe, mo ho hako ʻe tupu ʻiate koe ʻamui, ʻi heʻenau ngaahi toʻutangata, ko e fuakava taʻengata, ke u ʻiate koe, ko e ʻOtua, pea ki ho hako ki mui ʻiate koe.
8 And I will give to you and to offspring your after you - [the] land of sojournings your all [the] land of Canaan to a possession of perpetuity and I will become for them God.
Pea te u foaki kiate koe, pea mo ho hako ʻe hoko mo koe, ʻae fonua ʻoku ke ʻāunofo ki ai, ʻio ʻae fonua kotoa pē ʻo Kēnani, ko e tofiʻa taʻengata; pea teu ʻiate kinautolu ko honau ʻOtua.”
9 And he said God to Abraham and you covenant my you will keep you and offspring your after you for generations their.
Pea pehē ʻe he ʻOtua kia ʻEpalahame, “Ko ia te ke tauhi ai ʻeku fuakava, ʻa koe mo ho hako ʻe hoko mo koe ʻi honau ngaahi toʻutangata.
10 This [is] covenant my which you will keep between me and between you and between offspring your after you they will be circumcised of you every male.
Ko eni ʻa ʻeku fuakava, ʻaia te mou tauhi, kiate au mo kimoutolu mo ho hako ʻe tupu ʻamui ʻiate koe; E kamu ʻae tamasiʻi tangata kotoa pē ʻoku ʻiate kimoutolu.
11 And you will be circumcised [the] flesh of foreskin your and it will become a sign of [the] covenant between me and between you.
Pea te mou kamu ʻae kili ʻo homou potu; pea ko e fakaʻilonga ia ʻoe fuakava kiate au mo kimoutolu.
12 And a son of eight days he will be circumcised of you every male for generations your one born of [the] household and a purchase of silver from every son of foreignness who not [is] one of offspring your he.
Pea ko ia ʻiate kimoutolu ʻoku ʻaho valu hono motuʻa ʻe kamu ia, ʻae tama tangata kotoa pē ʻi homou ngaahi toʻutangata, ko ia kuo fanauʻi ho fale, mo ia ʻoku ʻikai ʻi hoʻo fānau, ka kuo fakatauʻaki hoʻo koloa mei he muli.
13 Definitely - he will be circumcised [the] one born of household your and [the] purchase of silver your and it will be covenant my in flesh your to a covenant of perpetuity.
Ko ia ʻe tupu ʻi ho fale, mo ia kuo fakatauʻaki hoʻo koloa ke ke kamu ia; pea ʻe ʻi homou sino ʻeku fuakava, ko e fuakava taʻengata ia.
14 And an uncircumcised - male who not he will be circumcised [the] flesh of foreskin his and it will be cut off the person that from kinspeople its covenant my he has broken.
Pea ko e tamasiʻi taʻekamu, ʻe motuhi ʻae laumālie ko ia mei hono kakai; he kuo ne siʻaki ʻeku fuakava.”
15 And he said God to Abraham Sarai wife your not you will call name her Sarai for [is] Sarah name her.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe he ʻOtua kia ʻEpalahame, “Pea koeʻuhi ko Selai ko ho uaifi, ʻe ʻikai te ke ui hono hingoa ko Selai, ka ko Sela hono hingoa.
16 And I will bless her and also I will give from her to you a son and I will bless her and she will become nations kings of peoples from her they will be.

17 And he fell Abraham on face his and he laughed and he said in heart his ¿ to a son of one hundred year[s] will he be born and or? Sarah ¿ a daughter of ninety year[s] will she bear a child.
Pea tō foʻohifo ai ʻa ʻEpalahame ki he kelekele pea kata, ʻo ne pehē ʻi hono loto, “E tupu ha tama ʻiate ia ʻoku teau taʻu hono motuʻa? Pea ʻe feitama ʻa Sela, ʻaia ʻoku hivangofulu hono taʻu?
18 And he said Abraham to God if Ishmael he will live before you.
Pea pehēange ʻe ʻEpalahame ki he ʻOtua, ʻofa ke moʻui ʻa ʻIsimeʻeli ʻi ho ʻao.”
19 And he said God but Sarah wife your [is] about to bear to you a son and you will call name his Isaac and I will establish covenant my with him to a covenant of perpetuity for offspring his after him.
Pea pehē ʻe he ʻOtua, “Ko e moʻoni ʻe fanauʻi ʻe ho uaifi ko Sela, ha tama kiate koe; pea te ke ui hono hingoa ko ʻAisake: pea te u fakamaau ʻeku fuakava kiate ia, ko e fuakava taʻengata pea mo hono hako ʻe hoko mo ia.
20 And to Ishmael I have heard you here! - I will bless him and I will make fruitful him and I will multiply him with muchness muchness two [plus] ten princes he will father and I will make him into a nation great.
Pea koeʻuhi ko ʻIsimeʻeli, kuo u fanongo kiate koe; “Vakai, kuo u tāpuaki ia, pea te u ngaohi ke tokolahi ʻaupito ia; te ne fakatupu ʻae ʻeiki ʻe toko hongofulu ma toko ua, pea te u ngaohi ia ko e puleʻanga lahi.
21 And covenant my I will establish with Isaac whom she will bear to you Sarah to the time this in the year following.
Ka ko ʻeku fuakava te u fakamaau ia kia ʻAisake, ʻaia ʻe fanauʻi ʻe Sela kiate koe, ʻi he kuonga totonu ʻi he taʻu ʻe hoko mai ni.”
22 And he finished to speak with him and he went up God from with Abraham.

23 And he took Abraham Ishmael son his and all those born of household his and all [the] purchase of silver his every male among [the] men of [the] household of Abraham and he circumcised [the] flesh of foreskin their on [the] substance of the day this just as he had spoken with him God.
Pea ʻave ʻe ʻEpalahame hono foha ko ʻIsimeʻeli, mo kinautolu kotoa pē naʻe fāʻele ʻi hono fale, mo kinautolu kotoa pē naʻe fakatauʻaki ʻene koloa: ʻae tama tangata kotoa pē ʻi he fale ʻo ʻEpalahame; ʻo ne kamu ʻakinautolu ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe folofolaʻaki ʻe he ʻOtua kiate ia.
24 And Abraham [was] a son of ninety and nine year[s] when was circumcised he [the] flesh of foreskin his.
Pea naʻe hivangofulu ma hiva taʻu ʻae motuʻa ʻo ʻEpalahame, ʻi hono kamu.
25 And Ishmael son his [was] a son of thir-teen year[s] when was circumcised he [the] flesh of foreskin his.
Pea naʻe hongofulu ma tolu taʻu hono foha ko ʻIsimeʻeli, ʻi he kamu ʻae kili ʻo hono potu.
26 On [the] substance of the day this he was circumcised Abraham and Ishmael son his.
‌ʻI he ʻaho pe taha ko ia naʻe kamu ai ʻa ʻEpalahame mo hono foha ko ʻIsimeʻeli,
27 And all [the] men of household his one born of [the] household and a purchase of silver from with a son of foreignness they were circumcised with him.
Pea mo e tangata kotoa pē ʻo hono fale, naʻe tupu ʻi hono fale, pe fakatauʻaki ʻene koloa mei he muli, naʻa nau kamu kotoa pē mo ia.
