Genesis 15
1 After - the things these it came [the] word of Yahweh to Abram in the vision saying may not you fear O Abram I [am] a shield of you reward your [will be] great very.
Nogen tid derefter kom Herrens ord til Abram i et syn, og det lød så: Frykt ikke, Abram! Jeg er ditt skjold; din lønn skal være meget stor.
2 And he said Abram O Lord Yahweh what? will you give to me and I [am] going childless and [the] son of [the] acquisition of household my he [is] Damascus Eliezer.
Og Abram sa: Herre, Herre, hvad vil du gi mig? Jeg går jo barnløs bort, og den som skal ta mitt hus i eie, er Elieser fra Damaskus.
3 And he said Abram here! to me not you have given offspring and there! [the] son of household my [is] inheriting me.
Og Abram sa videre: Se, mig har du ikke gitt noget barn, og en tjener som er født i mitt hus, kommer til å arve mig.
4 And there! [the] word of Yahweh [was] to him saying not he will inherit you this [one] that except [one] who he will come out from inward parts your he he will inherit you.
Men se, da kom Herrens ord til ham, og det lød så: Nei, han skal ikke arve dig, men en som skal utgå av ditt eget liv, skal arve dig.
5 And he brought out him the outside towards and he said look please the heavens towards and count the stars if you are able to count them and he said to him thus it will be offspring your.
Og han førte ham utenfor og sa: Se op til himmelen og tell stjernene, om du kan telle dem! Og han sa til ham: Så skal din ætt bli.
6 And he believed in Yahweh and he credited it to him righteousness.
Og Abram trodde på Herren, og han regnet ham det til rettferdighet.
7 And he said to him I [am] Yahweh who I brought out you from Ur of [the] Chaldeans to give to you the land this to take possession of it.
Og han sa til ham: Jeg er Herren, som førte dig ut fra Ur i Kaldea for å gi dig dette land til eie.
8 And he said O Lord Yahweh how? will I know that I will take possession of it.
Da sa han: Herre, Herre, hvorav kan jeg vite at jeg skal eie det?
9 And he said to him bring! to me a heifer three years old and a goat three years old and a ram three years old and a turtle-dove and a young pigeon.
Da sa han til ham: Hent mig en treårsgammel kvige og en treårsgammel gjet og en treårsgammel vær og en turteldue og en dueunge.
10 And he brought to him all these and he cut in pieces them in the middle and he set each piece its to meet neighbor its and the bird[s] not he cut in two.
Så hentet han alt dette til ham og skar dyrene midt over og la det ene stykket av hvert dyr rett imot det andre; men fuglene skar han ikke over.
11 And it came down the bird[s] of prey on the carcasses and he drove away them Abram.
Og rovfugler for ned på de døde kropper, men Abram jaget dem bort.
12 And it was the sun [about] to go and a deep sleep it fell on Abram and there! dread darkness great [was] falling on him.
Da nu solen var nær ved å gå ned, og en dyp søvn var falt over Abram, se, da falt redsel, et stort mørke, over ham.
13 And he said to Abram certainly you will know that a sojourner - it will be offspring your in a land [which] not [belongs] to them and they will serve them and they will afflict them four hundred year[s].
Og han sa til Abram: Det skal du vite, at din ætt skal bo som fremmede i et land som ikke hører dem til, og de skal træle for folket der og plages av dem i fire hundre år.
14 And also the nation which they will serve [will be] judging I and after thus they will come out with possession[s] great.
Men det folk som de skal træle for, vil jeg også dømme; og derefter skal de dra ut med meget gods.
15 And you you will go to ancestors your in peace you will be buried in old age good.
Men du skal fare til dine fedre i fred og bli begravet i en god alderdom.
16 And [the] generation fourth they will return hither for not [is] complete [the] iniquity of the Amorite[s] until now.
Og i det fjerde ættledd skal de komme hit igjen; for amorittene har ennu ikke fylt sin ondskaps mål.
17 And it was the sun it had gone and darkness it was and there! a fire pot of smoke and a torch of fire which it passed between the pieces these.
Da nu solen var gått ned, og det var blitt aldeles mørkt, fikk han se en rykende ovn og en luende ild som for frem mellem kjøttstykkene.
18 On the day that he made Yahweh with Abram a covenant saying to offspring your I give the land this from [the] river of Egypt to the river great [the] river of Euphrates.
Den dag gjorde Herren en pakt med Abram og sa: Din ætt gir jeg dette land, fra Egyptens elv like til den store elv, elven Frat,
19 The Kenite[s] and the Kenizzite[s] and the Kadmonite[s].
kenittenes og kenisittenes og kadmonittenes
20 And the Hittite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Rephaites.
og hetittenes og ferisittenes og refa'ittenes
21 And the Amorite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and the Girgashite[s] and the Jebusite[s].
og amorittenes og kana'anittenes og girgasittenes og jebusittenes land.
