Genesis 14
1 And it was in [the] days of Amraphel [the] king of Shinar Arioch [the] king of Ellasar Kedorlaomer [the] king of Elam and Tidal [the] king of Goyim.
| وَحَدَثَ فِي زَمَانِ أَمْرَافَلَ مَلِكِ شِنْعَارَ وَأَرْيُوكَ مَلِكِ أَلاسَارَ وَكَدَرْلَعَوْمَرَ مَلِكِ عِيلامَ وَتِدْعَالَ مَلِكِ جُويِيمَ، | ١ |
2 They made war with Bera [the] king of Sodom and with Birsha [the] king of Gomorrah Shinab - [the] king of Admah and Shemeber [the] king of (Zeboiim *Q(k)*) and [the] king of Bela that [is] Zoar.
| أَنَّ حَرْباً نَشَبَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ بَارَعَ مَلِكِ سَدُومَ وَبِرْشَاعَ مَلِكِ عَمُورَةَ وَشِنْآبَ مَلِكِ أَدْمَةَ وَشِمْئِيبَرَ مَلِكِ صَبُويِيمَ، وَمَلِكِ بَالَعَ الْمَعْرُوفَةِ بِصُوغَرَ. | ٢ |
3 All these they joined together to [the] valley of Siddim that [is] [the] Sea of Salt.
| هَؤُلاءِ جَمِيعُهُمُ احْتَشَدُوا فِي وَادِي السِّدِّيمِ (وَهُوَ بَحْرُ الْمِلْحِ؛ الْبَحْرُ الْمَيِّتُ) | ٣ |
4 Two [plus] ten year[s] they had served Kedorlaomer and thir-teen year they rebelled.
| وَكَانَ كَدَرْلَعَوْمَرُ قَدِ اسْتَعْبَدَهُمْ طَوَالَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، وَفِي السَّنَةِ الثَّالِثَةَ عَشْرَةَ تَمَرَّدُوا عَلَيْهِ. | ٤ |
5 And in four-teen year he came Kedorlaomer and the kings who [were] with him and they defeated [the] Rephaites in Ashteroth Karnaim and the Zuzites in Ham and the Emites in Shaveh Kiriathaim.
| وَفِي السَّنَةِ الرَّابِعَةَ عَشْرَةَ اجْتَمَعَ كَدَرْلَعَوْمَرُ وَحُلَفَاؤُهُ الْمُلُوكُ وَقَهَرُوا الرَّفَائِيِّينَ فِي عَشْتَارُوثَ قَرْنَايِمَ، وَالزُّوزِيِّينَ فِي هَامَ، وَالإِيمِيِّينَ فِي سَهْلِ قَرْيَتَايِمَ، | ٥ |
6 And the Horite[s] in hill country of their Seir to El Paran which [is] at the wilderness.
| وَالْحُورِيِّينَ فِي جَبَلِهِمْ سَعِيرَ حَتَّى بُطْمَةِ فَارَانَ عَلَى حُدُودِ الصَّحْرَاءِ. | ٦ |
7 And they turned back and they came to En Mishpat that [is] Kadesh and they defeated all [the] region of the Amalekite[s] and also the Amorite[s] who was dwelling in Hazezon Tamar.
| ثُمَّ اسْتَدَارُوا حَتَّى أَقْبَلُوا عَلَى عَيْنِ مِشْفَاطَ، الَّتِي هِيَ قَادِشُ، فَهَزَمُوا بِلادَ الْعَمَالِقَةِ كُلَّهَا وَالأَمُورِيِّينَ السَّاكِنِينَ فِي حَصُّونَ تَامَارَ. | ٧ |
8 And he went out [the] king of Sodom and [the] king of Gomorrah and [the] king of Admah and [the] king of (Zeboiim *Q(k)*) and [the] king of Bela that [is] Zoar and they deployed with them battle in [the] valley of Siddim.
| فَخَرجَ مَلِكُ سَدُومَ وَمَلِكُ عَمُورَةَ وَمَلِكُ أَدْمَةَ وَمَلِكُ صَبُويِيمَ وَمَلِكُ بَالَعَ، الَّتِي هِيَ صُوغَرُ، فِي عُمْقِ السِّدِّيمِ وَخَاضُوا حَرْباً | ٨ |
9 With Kedorlaomer [the] king of Elam and Tidal [the] king of Goyim and Amraphel [the] king of Shinar and Arioch [the] king of Ellasar four kings with the five.
| مَعْ كَدَرْلَعَوْمَرَ مَلِكِ عِيلامَ وَتِدْعَالَ مَلِكِ جُويِيمَ وَأَمْرَافَلَ مَلِكِ شِنْعَارَ وَأَرْيُوكَ مَلِكِ أَلاسَارَ، فَكَانُوا أَرْبَعَةَ مُلوكٍ ضِدَّ خَمْسَةٍ. | ٩ |
10 And [the] valley of Siddim [was] pits pits of bitumen and they fled [the] king of Sodom and Gomorrah and they fell there towards and those [who] survived [the] hill country towards they fled.
| وَكَانَ وَادِي السِّدِّيمِ مَلِيئاً بِآبَارِ الزِّفْتِ، فَانْدَحَرَ مَلِكَا سَدُومَ وَعَمُورَةَ وَسَقَطَا بَيْنَهَا، أَمَّا الْبَاقُونَ فَهَرَبُوا إِلَى الْجِبَالِ. | ١٠ |
11 And they took all [the] possession[s] of Sodom and Gomorrah and all food their and they went.
| فَغَنِمَ الْمُنْتَصِرُونَ جَمِيعَ مَا فِي سَدُومَ وَعَمُورَةَ مِنْ مُمْتَلَكَاتٍ وَمُؤَنٍ وَمَضَوْا. | ١١ |
12 And they took Lot and possession[s] his [the] son of [the] brother of Abram and they went and he [was] dwelling in Sodom.
| وَأَسَرُوا لُوطاً ابْنَ أَخِي أَبْرَامَ الْمُقِيمَ فِي سَدُومَ، وَنَهَبُوا أَمْلاكَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبُوا. | ١٢ |
13 And he came the fugitive and he told to Abram the Hebrew and he [was] dwelling at [the] great trees of Mamre the Amorite [the] brother of Eshcol and [the] brother of Aner and they [were] [the] partners of [the] covenant of Abram.
| وَجَاءَ أَحَدُ النَّاجِينَ إِلَى أَبْرَامَ الْعِبْرَانِيِّ، الَّذِي كَانَ مُقِيماً حَتَّى ذَلِكَ الْوَقْتِ عِنْدَ بَلُّوطَاتِ مَمْرَا أَخِي أَشْكُولَ وَعَانِرَ حُلَفَاءِ أَبْرَامَ، وَأَبْلَغَهُ بِمَا جَرَى. | ١٣ |
14 And he heard Abram that he had been taken captive relative his and he drew out trained men his those born of household his eight-teen and three hundred and he pursued to Dan.
| فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ أَبْرَامُ أَنَّ ابْنَ أَخِيهِ قَدْ أُسِرَ، جَرَّدَ ثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ مِنْ غِلْمَانِهِ الْمُدَرَّبِينَ الْمَوْلُودِينَ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَتَعَقَّبَهُمْ حَتَّى بَلَغَ دَانَ | ١٤ |
15 And divided himself on them - night he and servants his and he attacked them and he pursued them to Hobah which [is] from [the] north of Damascus.
| وَفِي أَثْنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ قَسَّمَ رِجَالَهُ، وَهَاجَمَهُمْ وَقَهَرَهُمْ، ثُمَّ طَارَدَهُمْ حَتَّى حُوبَةَ شَمَالِيَّ دِمَشْقَ. | ١٥ |
16 And he brought back all the possession[s] and also Lot relative his and possession[s] his he brought back and also the women and the people.
| وَاسْتَرَدَّ كُلَّ الْغَنَائِمِ، وَاسْتَرْجَعَ ابْنَ أَخِيهِ لُوطاً وَأَمْلاكَهُ، وَالنِّسَاءَ أَيْضاً وَسِوَاهُمْ مِنَ الأَسْرَى. | ١٦ |
17 And he went out [the] king of Sodom to meet him after returned he from defeating (Kedor-laomer *LBH(A)*) and the kings who [were] with him to [the] valley of Shaveh that [is] [the] valley of the king.
| وَجَاءَ مَلِكُ سَدُومَ لِلِقَاءِ أَبْرَامَ فِي وَادِي شَوَى الْمَعْرُوفِ بِوَادِي الْمَلِكِ، بَعْدَ عَوْدَتِهِ مِنْ كَسْرَةِ كَدَرْلَعَوْمَرَ وَالْمُلُوكِ حُلَفَائِهِ. | ١٧ |
18 And Melchi-zedek [the] king of Salem he brought out bread and wine and he [was] a priest of God Most High.
| وَكَذَلِكَ حَمَلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلْكِي صَادِقُ مَلِكُ شَالِيمَ، الَّذِي كَانَ كَاهِناً لِلهِ الْعَلِيِّ، خُبْزاً وَخَمْراً، | ١٨ |
19 And he blessed him and he said [be] blessed Abram by God Most High [the] creator of heaven and earth.
| وَبَارَكَهُ قَائِلاً: «لِتَكُنْ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبْرَامُ بَرَكَةُ اللهِ الْعَلِيِّ، مَالِكِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ. | ١٩ |
20 And [be] blessed God Most High who he has delivered opponents your in hand your and he gave to him a tenth from everything.
| وَتَبَارَكَ اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الَّذِي دَفَعَ أَعْدَاءَكَ إِلَى يَدَيْكَ». فَأَعْطَاهُ أَبْرَامُ عُشْرَ الْغَنَائِمِ كُلِّهَا. | ٢٠ |
21 And he said [the] king of Sodom to Abram give to me the person[s] and the possession[s] take for yourself.
| وَقَالَ مَلِكُ سَدُومَ لأَبْرَامَ: «أَعْطِنِي الأَسْرَى الْمَعْتُوقِينَ أَمَّا الْغَنَائِمُ فَاحْتَفِظْ بِها لِنَفْسِكَ». | ٢١ |
22 And he said Abram to [the] king of Sodom I raise hand my to Yahweh God Most High [the] creator of heaven and earth.
| فَأَجَابَهُ أَبْرَامُ: «لَقَدْ أَقْسَمْتُ بِالرَّبِّ الإِلَهِ الْعَلِيِّ، مَالِكِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ، | ٢٢ |
23 If from a thread and unto a thong of a sandal and if I will take any of all that [belongs] to you and not you will say I I made rich Abram.
| وَعَاهَدْتُهُ أَلّا آخُذَ شَيْئاً مِمَّا هُوَ لَكَ، وَلَوْ كَانَ خَيْطاً أَوْ شَرِيطَ حِذَاءٍ، لِئَلّا تَقُولَ: أَنَا أَغْنَيْتُ أَبْرَامَ | ٢٣ |
24 Apart from me only [that] which they have eaten the young men and [the] share of the men who went with me Aner Eshcol and Mamre they let them take share their.
| لَنْ آخُذَ غَيْرَ مَا أَكَلَهُ الْغِلْمَانُ. أَمَّا نَصِيبُ الرِّجَالِ الَّذِينَ ذَهَبُوا مَعِي: عَانِرَ وَأَشْكُولَ وَمَمْرَا، فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْخُذُونَهُ». | ٢٤ |
