< Genesis 12 >

1 And he said Yahweh to Abram go for yourself from land your and from kindred your and from [the] household of father your to the land which I will show you.
2 So I may make you into a nation great and I will bless you and I will make great name your and you be a blessing.
A ka meinga koe e ahau hei iwi nui, ka manaakitia ano koe e ahau, ka whakanuia ano hoki tou ingoa; a ka waiho koe hei manaakitanga:
3 So let me bless [those who] bless you and [one who] disdains you I will curse and they will be blessed by you all [the] clans of the earth.
A ka manaaki ahau i te hunga e manaaki ana i a koe, ka kanga hoki i te tangata e kanga ano i a koe: a mau ka manaakitia ai nga hapu katoa o te whenua.
4 And he went Abram just as he had said to him Yahweh and he went with him Lot and Abram [was] a son of five years and seventy year[s] when came out he from Haran.
Na haere ana a Aperama, pera ana me ta Ihowa i korero ai ki a ia; i haere tahi ano a Rota i a ia; a e whitu tekau ma rima nga tau o Aperama i tona hekenga mai i Harana.
5 And he took Abram Sarai wife his and Lot [the] son of brother his and all possession[s] their which they had accumulated and the person[s] whom they had acquired in Haran and they went out to go [the] land of towards Canaan and they came [the] land of towards Canaan.
6 And he passed Abram in the land to [the] place of Shechem to [the] great tree of Moreh and the Canaanite[s] then [was] in the land.
7 And he appeared Yahweh to Abram and he said to offspring your I will give the land this and he built there an altar to Yahweh who had appeared to him.
8 And he moved on from there the hill country towards from [the] east of Beth-el and he pitched (tent his *Q(K)*) Beth-el [was] from [the] west and Ai [was] from [the] east and he built there an altar to Yahweh and he called on [the] name of Yahweh.
9 And he journeyed Abram going and journeying the south towards.
10 And it was a famine in the land and he went down Abram Egypt towards to sojourn there for [was] heavy the famine in the land.
A he matekai to te whenua: a ka haere a Aperama ki raro, ki Ihipa, ki reira noho ai; he nui hoki te matekai o te whenua.
11 And it was just as he drew near to enter Egypt and he said to Sarai wife his here! please I know that [are] a woman beautiful of appearance you.
A, i a ia ka tata te tae ki Ihipa, ka mea ia ki a Harai, ki tana wahine, Nana, e mohio ana ahau he wahine ataahua koe ki te titiro atu;
12 And it will be that they will see you the Egyptians and they will say [is] wife his this and they will kill me and you they will let live.
Na, akuanei, kei te kitenga o nga Ihipiana i a koe, ka mea ratou, Ko tana wahine tenei: a ka patua ahau e ratou, ka whakaora hoki i a koe.
13 Say please [are] sister my you so that it may go well for me for sake of you and it will live life my on account of you.
Me ki koe, ne, he tuahine koe noku? kia whiwhi ai ahau ki te pai i a koe; a kia ora ai toku wairua i a koe.
14 And it was when entered Abram Egypt and they saw the Egyptians the woman that [was] beautiful she very.
15 And they saw her [the] officials of Pharaoh and they praised her to Pharaoh and she was taken the woman [the] house of Pharaoh.
16 And to Abram he did good for sake of her and it be[longed] to him sheep and cattle and [male] donkeys and [male] servants and female servants and female donkeys and camels.
Na ka atawhai ia i a Aperama, he mea hoki mo te wahine: a ka riro i ia he hipi, he kau, he kaihe toa, he pononga tane, he pononga wahine, he kaihe uha, he kamera.
17 And he struck Yahweh - Pharaoh plagues great and house his on [the] matter of Sarai [the] wife of Abram.
Na ka whiua e Ihowa a Parao ratou ko tona whare, he nui nga pakinga, mo Harai wahine a Aperama.
18 And he summoned Pharaoh Abram and he said what? this have you done to me why? not did you tell to me that [was] wife your she.
Na ka karanga a Parao ki a Aperama, ka mea, He aha tenei mahi au ki ahau? he aha koe te korero mai ai ki ahau ko tau wahine ia?
19 Why? did you say [is] sister my she and I took her for myself to a wife and now here! wife your take [her] and go.
Na te aha koe i mea ai, Ko taku tuahine ia? i tango ai ahau i a ia hei wahine maku: na, tau wahine, tangohia, haere.
20 And he commanded on him Pharaoh men and they sent away him and wife his and all that [belonged] to him.
Na ka whakatupato a Parao ki nga tangata, kei aha atu ki a ia: a tukua atu ana ia e ratou, me tana wahine, me ana mea katoa.
